I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello there!I own a Lenovo Ideacentre Y900 Razer Edition.I have a problem with my Lenovo Nerve Center, at first it worked pretty well but it stopped showing the stats of my hardware. It doesn't detect my processor and ram, video cards and hdd, and the stats it shows are messed up.It worked great previously. I tried reinstalling it and then updating it, and now it has the newest version, although nothing changed and it still doesn't work.I tried System Restore to get it back when it worked, but it didn't help.If you can tell me how to fix my problem, I'll be grateful. Thanks in advance! There is a screenshot of my desktop and the problem I'm describing.

Hi folks, I have 6 Lenovo systems consisting of T410 and T420 series. I just freshly reimaged these systems with Windows 10 Enterprise 64bit; Ran windows update overnight; then installed Lenovo Solution Center (LSC). Upon running LSC with Hardware Scan or Snapshot of the system, it gets into "Loading" state forever (I've been leaving it for over 12 hours).  There are no USB/disc inserted into any of these machines. Anyone got any insight as to how I can get LSC scans these hardware? Cheers

I have a ThinkCentre M93p Tiny.  It has thrown surprising Linux kernel "oops"es a couple of times in the last month.  So I decided that I should run hardware diagnostics. I booted into Windows 10 and ran the Lenovo Solution Center.  I chose hardware scan.  I asked for a memory diagnostic.  And went to bed -- a good memory diagnostic takes hours to run and should be completely boring. When I came back, I found the machine had suspended.  When I woke it, the memory diagnostic had made almost no progress.  When I repeat, it seems as if Windows wants to suspend the machine after about 15 minutes or half an hour of no user input. What's the appropriate way to stop Windows suspending the machine while I'm running diagnostics?

A:M93 p falls asleep during Lenovo Solution Center hardware scan

It gets worse. Twice the Solution Center has said that the test was canceled, which it wasn't, at least not by me. But the result code says all was well.

My T410's performance has been degrading, so I ran a full hardware test several times using Lenovo Solution Center.  It failed only the memory test.  It repeatedly (but not always) found this problem:  The machine is long out of warranty, so the "result code" and the link to open a ticket at Lenvovo are apparently useless.  So I'm looking for advice on what to do, given this particular failure. ~ Thanks in advance~ Ken

Hi, I just updated the Lenovo Solution Center installed on my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro.I then performed a hardware scan and got the following result :no issue (green light and the following message : WMB008000-DK7X5L ) and at the same time a PCI / PCI-e Test showed as invalid (white cross on a red background). So what do I have to do ? It looks like the software tells me "no problem" and at the same time highlights an issue at the level of the PCI. Thanks in advance for your help Kind regards Philippe

I decided to uninstall the program and reinstall it, thinking that it would solve the problem. However, I could not find the link for the download. This y720 is my first real computer that I've bought/owned myself, so i'm not too good with understanding parts. I'm trying to have 16gb of total RAM but I ordered the wrong type of RAM (different Hz) and had to send it back. Before trying again I was wondering if this would be compatible with the RAM my latop came with. They seem to have the exact same specs. Or is it preferable to get identical ones? Another question, that's more for convenience: I recently had to reset my laptop because it had an Os problem. After I got that sorted, I went to the lenovo website and redownloaded Nerve Sense, the Bios, and a few other recommended things. The hotkeys for it dont seem to work (keyboard lighting, fan overdrive, etc). Is there a way to get the computer to use the Hotkeys again. I'd like to use them because its much faster than opening up nerve gear everytime I want to turn my lights off.

Hi Everyone, I recently posted an issue with the fan inside my not even 2 months old Y900 Gaming desktop PC but it still has it's issues on and off which I am still discusing with support via e-mail and I have done all the Driver updates for the GEForce 1080 card and it is all up to date but still having the occasional issue but will get it resolved one day soon.I did get an e-mail back from Lenovo support a few weeks back after I said that I thought the fan inside was running very high at times so I was then sent an e-mail with a view to fixing any fan issues with this information:Update BIOS and Power/ Lenovo Energy Management Drivers 1. Go to the link : http://support.lenovo.com/au/en/2. Type in you Serial Number [R302YVJE] in the 'Search products' box and hit the search icon and you will be routed to a new page.3. Download and install BIOS/UEFI Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) and restart you machine when prompted to do so. 6. Test again.I did this an updated everything (Not without issues) but eventually it was done. This brings me to the point of this message. Hi Everyone, I did start another thread about this but thought I would be a bit more specific this time around so I do apologise for my previous effort but this is so frustrating coming from someone who is a noob at this sort of stuff.I recently at the direction of Lenovo support, had to update my BIOS/Firmware on a less than 2 months old machine as there was an issue coming from inside my box where the fan would just randomly start runnng fast and loud when I was in the middle of a game (Watch Dogs 2, WOW or Prepar3d).I was initially directed to go to Nvidia as I have a GE Force 1080 card as there were some issues with those and fans running fast. I downloaded latest drivers and all went well for several days but then the noise was back but it sounded different. When I messaged Lenovo that`s when they directed me to downlaod latest BIOS/Firmware update as this may solve my issue. I did this BIOS/Firmware update, system update, you name it I updated what needed to be updated.I did this and from between the time I downloaded and updated what needed to be updated and today, I have not been into the Lenovo Nerve Centre. I go in there today and the first thing that I got come up in a big dialogue box in the midle of the nerve centre was that this PC is not compatible with overclocking and to please contact the supplier etc... etc...When I clicked past this option I then noticed that the "Turbo Boost" section had disappered where you can not only go in and overclock the syste... I have a computer that for sure was infected with Smart Internet Protection 2011.
I went through the common documented steps to remove the infection.
Nothing that I scan with shows any more traces of the infection. Yet, it's still listed in Security Center as an active Firewall and AntiVirus product.

Can anyone shed some light on how a product gets listed in the Security Center? If it's shown, does that mean that the computer is still infected or is there just some entry somewhere telling the Security Center that it's installed?

A:Win XP Security Center products listed

The Security Center gets its data from WMI. I assume you've not installed another AV or firewall?

I've written a VB script to display the Security Center data WMI has for AV and Firewall.
That's the same data the Windows Security Center is accessing to display its information.
You can download it from here:

Unzip it and execute it (double-click).

You'll have at least 2 message boxes, and 4 at most.
First one displays "Start"
Second one displays the AV info, if there is no info, this message box is not displayed.
Third one displays the FW info, if there is no info, this message box is not displayed.
Fourth one displays "Done"

Please report back which messages were displayed.

well after testing pretty much everything im out of ideas and need help.

i have two harddrives, one wd black 2 tb and one wd green 1 tb. wd black is connected to sata port 1 and it contains my system partition c: (which is boot flagged) , and 3 logical partitions in an extended partition (lba flagged). the 1tb is connected to sata port 2 and contains only logical partitions in an extended partition (lba flagged aswell).

no matter what i do my second drive (the one connected in sata 2 port) gets listed as disk 0 in windows 7 install program and later on in windows disk manager. i've even erased both drives (to unallocated) and repartitoned them from scratch hoping it had something to do with mbr but to no avail. ive tried switching ports on the drives, changing boot options in bios, but whatever i do second drive always lists as disk 0.

i've also tried installing windows with only the first drive connected, sure it works, but when i connect second harddrive later on it gets listed as disk 0 again and i have to change drive letters. (windows lists cdrom before second drive partitions)
this is the first time im experiencing this, i've never had this problem before using the same rig (albeit different harddrives).
is windows listing drives based on their total size so smaller drives always comes first?
im pretty desperate at this point.

Thank you for persisting in finding the cause of your problem as it will now help others searching the problem.

This is another reason why we always advise to remove all other HD's during install. Then even the MS solution to verify disk info by size and volume label isn't necessary.

Hi everyone. Here is my problem - I'll include all the details I can.

I'm running Win 7 64 bit home premium on a Sony Vaio VPCEB11FM laptop.
Yesterday I did a Windows Update and when I restarted I saw the problem start.
First I was having a SmartWi configuration utility problem that popped up twice on startup. Then I saw a pop up that states: oobefcdregistration has stopped working

I installed Malware Bytes and did both that and McAfee scans which both came up with nothing. System restore wouldn't work saying there was a transient error. Suddenly McAfee stopped working. I tried reinstalling but it was giving me nothing but problems. McAfee tech support seems to have fixed the problem, but a few viruses kept popping up (one is ZeroAccess, I can't remember the other one). I was also able to do a system restore in safe mode but it seems like all checkpoints are now gone.

Upon restarting I still got those errors, along with oobesendinfo has stopped working.

I disabled the smartwi utility on startup and now that error as well as the oobesendinfo has stopped working both stopped (but the other oobefcdregistration still pops up).

Now I noticed that my Windows Security Center Service is disabled. When I click for it to turn on it says "The Windows Security Center can't be started." It's also not listed in the services.msc

I tried the system file checker which said it fixed some errors, but apparently not, since upon restart the problem is still there!
I've also checke... Read more

Will you please try and run a system restore back to a date and time prior to when you installed the program that prompted McAfee to say you had a virus.
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
2. In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click next.
3. In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click next.
4. Click Finish.

I was helping a friend with her computer and I noticed in the tray the icon for Safely Remove Hardware. As she didn't have any devices plugged in (ipod, etc.) I was curious so I looked to see what was listed. The only thing listed was her internal hard drive. Which I thought was really weird. Why would it be listed there and how can I/she get it unlisted?

Thank you in advance to any and all who can help me out.

A:HDD listed in Safely Remove Hardware

It is probably because it is an SATA hard drive and you can "safely remove" those. Sometimes if you have a partition set up on it, it will show up on the list. Its not a big deal, you can leave it.

I have aquired a HP Laptop that the Ethernet appears to be defective. It shows up as This Device Cannot Start (Code 10). I did a complete reinstall because it was using Windows 7 (was purchased by the owner) and I figured it was a driver issue. The original (and now current) OS is Windows Vista and the same thing shows.

I was looking in the properties of the Ethernet card for the vendor ID to make sure I got the correct driver (website has different make drivers) and saw there was a listing that says Problem Code with a value of 000000A -- I was wondering if this is the same like a STOP code or if there is a website with these codes? I have a screenshot of an example.

I'm pretty sure the Ethernet card is toast, I just wanted to make sure.

A:Error code listed in hardware properties

pretty sure that the problem code 00000016 represents some driver issue, but that's going of a total of three instances, so consider that......

starting to agree that the card is cooked, however.
