Realtek HD Audio Enhancements error

Q: Realtek HD Audio Enhancements error

It's been about 2 years since I last had this problem on Vista, but it seems that it's happening again with Windows 7.

Windows has detected that audio enhancements for the following device are causing problems

Speakers(Realtek High Definition Audio)

Disabling the enhancements gives me sound again, but I know there was a solution with Vista.

It first happened today after 3 weeks of using the R2.34 drivers without incident, but now both that and the new R2.35 drivers are doing the same thing.

Has anyone else had this problem or know the solution? Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Today, out of nowhere, the sounds of my PC started to get weird. (Windows 10 v1607 anniversary update)

I look at the settings and everything is back to default.

I set my preferences again (equalizer, virtual surround and Intensity equalization) but every media players that I have (Kodi, Groove, Wynil, Dopamine, PotPLayer) stopped playing sounds.

System sounds, Browser and games works fine.

I was using the Realtek R279 driver, I used it for a long time and never had any problems;

I tried reinstalling, not solved. I tried the new drivers: 6.0.1.7931 and 6.0.1.7936. Not solved.

Any help?

P.S. If I disable the Audio Enhancements, media players start to work normally, but the audio without my settings is horrible.

P.S.2 Sorry my english.

Did you go into Device Manager and check if anything is not working or has a warning triangle on the device? I'm Win10 pro v10586 and just updated my Realtek driver yesterday, and it's RTKVHD64.sys (I'm 64 bit) and ver 6.0.1.7933.
The driver may be corrupt for some reason, possibly malware, so might be an idea to run scans. Try also deleting the driver before installing in device manager unless u already did. Cheers.

I have a Pavilion 13 x360 laptop, with Beats audio and the sound card being Realtek HD Audio. I was looking for the Enhancements tab in Speaker Properties, but I find that such a tab doesn't exist. This is what my Speaker Properties window looks like:I have, however, seen screenshots from other people who have the tab in their window. I updated the Realtek driver in Device Manager, so it's version 6.0.1.7548. If the Enhancements tab is not compatible with this sound card, is there anything I can do about it? Any help will be appreciated!

I recently purchased a Razer Carcharias which has a low microphone. I have to put the microphone boost on +30db for it to be adequate for ventrilo/teamspeak.

With that being said, it has static due to the extreme microphone boost. There's an "enhancements" tab under the microphones properties which has the options: DC Offset Cancellation, Noise Suppression, and Acoustic Echo Cancellation.

I checked "Noise Suppression", this completely removes the static in my microphone, but muffles my voice slightly (which is fine).

Now I decided to plug in my old headset (microphone part only) in, and run some quality comparison tests using Windows Sound Recorder. After I was done and plugged my Razer microphone in, the Noise Suppression option stopped working completely.

I've tried using the back jacks, front jacks, and I even reinstall drivers, and used older drivers. I can't get the Noise Suppression option to remove my static, it has no effect checked or not.(And it used to before) How can I fix this?

DTS Audio Control Panel Audio Enhancements dont stay off. I turned them off, but when i restart the music sounds like it has re-enabled the enhancments, although when i open the DTS Control Panel it is still unchecked. I know its on because then I tick the check box the sound quality does not change, but when I untick it it changes again. This happens everytime i restart. I think this image resumes it pretty well.
I've updated my mobo's BIOS today and the new version adds support for PCEEv4, so I get the Dolby tab working, but the enhancements all disappeared. I know for a fact they work, since I had them before changing the BIOS. I can't really rollback the bios as I pretty much need the SSD updates on the BIOS.

I've reinstalled the drivers about 3 times already. I've tried from both the motherboard's page:
GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-Z68X-UD3-B3 (rev. 1.0)

And from Realtek's page. Neither worked as far as giving me the enhancements back. I get this shiny new Dolby thing that is quite frankly, useless. It uses only 3 speakers out of the 5.1 system and I'd much rather have the enhancements back so I can use the audio fill to get all my speakers going when there's a stereo stream.
Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Except for rolling back the BIOS, that is. All the DTS dlls appear as installed and part of the driver. The mic enhancements still work just fine. I have RAVBg64.exe starting with /forpcee4 toggle. I was wondering if there was perhaps a toggle that ignored the PCEE(Dolby tab) thing and went for windows enhancements instead. The enhancements also disappeared from the Realtek HD audio manager, so no luck there either. It doesn't even show an enhancement tab there, so I'm assuming it's loading wrong to favor the PCEE thing.

A:Empty Audio Enhancements tab

I've sent an email to Realtek today. Lets see if they will have a solution.

I installed Realtek HD Audio Driver R2.72 last night and it restored Stereo Mix which now enables me to record system sound whilst using screen recorders.

Realtek HD Audio Manager is a software driver used on Windows computers. It handles recording and playback of audio programs. It is required for many audio programs to operate.

While Realtek HD Audio Drivers is a tool that allows you to listen to audio in HD on your PC.

Stereo Mix is used to transfer audio that the PC is playing to recording software such as Audacity, so that you can record what you?re hearing.

When one upgrade their OS like in your case from XP to Win7 with the same motherboard and sound card it is always advised & recommended to download the latest soundcard driver, because the only thing that had changed was the operating system.

The advice is not to go to windows for it, but to go to the motherboard manufacturer, because it would be specialised for the system rather than ... Read more

Try re-installing the sound driver.
If you don't have it to install, you can download it from the PC manufacturer's website.
It may be a good idea to uninstall the existing sound driver first in case it's corrupted.
Installing new driver over the old one should fix the corruption but better play it safe and remove it first.

Dear HP, would you please care to fix the issue of "DTS Audio Enhancements" turning themselves ON (every time you Sleep/wake, Restart, Plug/Unplug 3.5 jack), even if the option is left UNCHECKED for enabling the "DTS Audio Enhancements". If you uninstall the Audio driver, you are left with a seriously downgraded sound, the lower frequencies get ripped off, if you have the DTS enabled, it distorts the sounds, and introduces a lot of "audio popping". The audio popping is still an issue once you double check the disable enhancements, but we could start by just making a feature work as it's supposed to, because as for now, we are forced to use a audio crippling function, even though we choose not to. I am unsatisfied with the support provided by HP team, or lack of it, rather, I paid 1000+$ for this machine, and the issue count with it, is over the top. I would have gladly paid 500$ more for a machine that works from competing companies. Please help users with this, there are MANY users complaining about this, yet no solution is in sight. The solution can't be that difficult to make.

I'm running windows 10 on an HP Omen and after most recent windows update, my computers internal speakers are unavailable, as are any wired connected audio devices. Sound icon says no speakers or headphones are plugged in. Device manager, under sound, video, and game controllers does not show realtek HD audio. This only appears when I go to view and select show hidden devices. Then, under properties, I can see Code 45 (hardware device not connected. To fix, reconnect). I have attempted driver fixes including driver version 6.0.1.8591. Troubleshooters for audio detected nothing. I have tried rolling back the windows update.

I cannot find any sites that recommend steps beyond checking driver for the device. I've also tried calling HP tech support twice, and both times representatives told me they needed more time to find a solution (which they have failed to do).

Anyone who has dealt with this issue or has thoughts, any advice appreciated.

A:IDT Audio (Beats) Missing Enhancements Tab in Windows Sound ...

Hi, Whether or not you have the 'Enhancements' tab is down to the particular audio driver that's installed - some allow this feature and some do not. Try the following. Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55094.exe When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall. When complete, restart the notebook. Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, check if you have the Enhancements tab back. Note:  If you want the fn+B combination to work correctly, you'll need to download and install HP Quick Launch from the link below. HP Quick Launch Buttons. When the installation has completed, restart the notebook before checking. Regards, DP-K

A:Realtek ac'97 audio drive not working, error code 10

No sound?

Try the simple things first. Speakers on and working? Plug them into a MP3 player, test that they actually amplify. Speaker plug in the correct socket in the PC? ( I mean not the Mic socket?) Have you looked in 'Device Manager' for a yellow warning by the entry for your sound option? Assume you know all the above, it's most likely still to be the wrong drivers. Go into 'Device Manager' and uninstall any sound drivers. Then go to www.drivereasy.com and download their free program, scan your PC and you will get the right driver I would think. You might also find a few other drivers out of date too. And NO it doesn't cost you to use that program. Hope this helps.

I'm running windows 8.1 on Toshiba Qosmio X875 Q7190. My computer kept crashing after trying to install Sabrent display adapter. I booted into recovery and did a system restore. Everything works fine now except the sound. I have visited Toshiba's website and downloaded the most recent Realtek drivers. When I install I get the error "HD Audio Driver Failure error code: 0xC0000374". If I go to device manager it shows realtek but with an error next to it. If I look under playback devices nothing is listed. I have deleted the drivers and tried letting the computer install them automatically but that doesn't work either. Two solutions I have seen were to disable and delete Microsoft UAA HD bus driver, but that is nowhere to be found on my machine and the other solution was to enable on board audio in Bios, but that optioin doesn't appear in UEFI.

After my first system restore I no longer have any additional restore points, so another restore is not an option.

Any idea how I can fix this issue?

Hello guys,

I got a computer running Windows XP (SP3) with Intel motherboard (D915GEV). I currently have working sounds but I cannot use the "Stereo Mix" function to record what I hear through the speakers. I only get a short static noise every couple of seconds.

Looking in Add/Remove Programs I see these two sound drivers:
*High Definition Audio Driver Package - KB888111 (probably responsible for the working sounds)
*Realtek High Definition Audio Driver (that I see no evidence of being installed apart from the existence of Realtek folder inside "Program Files".

This is what I see in Device Manager menu (only the Microsoft UAA driver appears, no Realtek whatsoever):

Plus, in the past the PC used to have AC'97 driver installed as well but I unistalled it months ago.
I tried to remove the Realtek driver but I get this annoying error:
Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting
I also get the same error whenever I try to launch a newer version of Realtek HD Audio driver installer, or even execute the AC'97 driver installer.

I created another (second) admin account and the uninstallation worked as it should, but back to my current account it is still present under Add/Remove Programs.

Is my Registry corrupted? Or is this about User permissions not set right?
Thank you

A:Error uninstalling/installing Realtek audio drivers

The Microsoft driver showed Realtek at the end. So you uninstalled the Microsoft/Realtek driver that was downloaded from Windows Update automatically. And the original AC97 Reatek driver is still on your computer. To reinstall it, download it from the Intel Website: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...ng&ProdId=1674

Hello,

I don't know what's wrong with this.I have no sound for anything. and even when I try to stream videos in the internet, the video automatically pauses for about every 12 seconds.

I don't know what to do but I think you guys can help me.
I also have a Realtek AC'97 audio for VIA(R) audio controller. I'm running Windows XP Service Pack 3. My motherboard is VIA VT8237R plus.

I'm having the same problem:
Device cannot start( code 10)

I also tried to install that vinyl_v700b
but every time the installation starts, my conputer tends to restart. That's why I can't install that one.
what's wrong? Can you guys please tell me what to do?
thnx. I cant really watch videos nor play music files.

Thanks again.

A:Realtek AC'97 audio controller not working -- error (code 10)

Apart from the audio driver, it is critical to have the right chipset driver installed. The VIA southbridge needs to work properly to interface with the vinyl audio processor.
So try installing the chipset driver first, and then the audio driver. And of course make sure all MS updates are installed, including the MS UAA driver.

Help. I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 64bit (on my HP Vista 32 machine). Life is grand! My problems started when I tried to listen to the microphone input through my speakers. The front microphone inputs did not work so I downlaed the Realtek HD Audio Drivers (recently updated) from the realtek site. The inputs now work and I can record from the microphone through the Sound Recorder app in Accessories but can not hear the microphone through the speakers while I am recording. After searching the web I noticed a lot of chatter about setting things up in the Realtek HD Audio Manager. This app does not show up in my control panel. Does anyone know where I can get it (if I really need it). The Realtek site only has the driver download (not the manager). Am I missing something, am I confused, or both?

Hope someone can help me out with my audio problems...

I have an ASUS A54C laptop less than a month old.
-Windows 7, service pack 1.
64 bit.

About a week ago Asus live update automatically installed some updates (I didn't realise I could disable auto update, still getting used to this laptop)
when it restarted a few errors kept popping up and the webcam was not working. After googling I came across forum posts saying you have to manually download the drivers from the website. After doing that the webcam software showed a message "no audio device found" I thought ok, no problem I'll just re-install the audio driver (I had done this a few weeks previously because the built in mic was acting up).

The first half of installation completed, laptop restarted but then gave me the following error when trying to complete the second half:

Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure !!
[Error Code: 0x00000002]

Things I've already tried:
-I have tried several times to install the audio driver
-Tried installing different versions
- downloading directly from realtek
-System restore a couple times but it failed.
-Updated the BIOS (although I have no idea what this actually does)

I don't know what else to do.
Please help!

Suggest you go to device manager look for >>Problem devices<<,
or at the audio driver itself
Select update driver > browse >> let me pick >> my comp >> uncheck compatible devices >> scroll to Realtek >> select from right hand pane. (select and update)

My motherboard is ASUS P8P67-M Pro. The manufacturer doesn't mention any drivers for Windows 10 x64 on their website as you can see here: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67M_PRO/HelpDesk_Download/ I tried to use Windows 8.1 x64 drivers, Windows 8 x64 drivers and Windows 7 x64 drivers. None of them worked. I even tried to download drivers directly from Realtek website, it didn't work as well. I am pretty sure the drivers should be fine and work, but I think there is a problem with my operating system. I remember in the past I tried to install printer drivers and I had issues as well (while it worked fine on another PC, only this PC had issues installing the driver) and I also have problem installing the new feature update (Windows 1703), it always ends up with an error, so I can't update to this version as well.
I don't know what to do and I was thinking about re-installing windows, but it is very time consuming for me and I prefer a short solution to resolve this.
Is there any chance someone has any idea how to resolve this problem?
Thank you

I installed the Realtek HD audio driver from the ASUS download site (P8Z68-V Pro MB) and all was well until I installed an MSI 560TI video card and let it install the Nvidia HD Audio drivers. The problem I have been chasing ever since was the Realtek HD Audio Manager popping up after the system exited extended sleep state (overnight). After much trial and tribulation and several Google Searches I concluded that the Realtek/ASUS HD Audio driver was conflicting with the Nvidia driver(s).

I did what suggested on one of the sites and that was to delete the Realtek HD Audio drivers and just let W7 install the default Microsoft drivers. Problem gone! Now I am curious, what did I give up and if I install the latest Realtek driver for W7 64-bit (v267) from the Realtek site will the Nvidia conflict return?

A:ASUS/Realtek, Latest Realtek versus default W7 Audio driver

Generally the Microsoft installed HD Audio Codec does not have all the features the motherboard vendor's sound drivers do. In most cases the actual driver is preferred and should be installed instead of the generic HD Audio Code drivers.

The NVIDIA driver is for the Video and the build in audio for HDMI audio. It should not be interferring with the PC's sound and in this case Realtek. I would uninstall the Microsoft drivers and reinstall the RealTek and see if you still have the problem. Generally a driver causes problems when exiting from sleep mode. Actually on "extended" sleep mode of overnight its really better to just shut down the system and then reboot in the morning. If you want it to be operational when you wake up, the BIOS should have an option for auto power on at whatever time you set.

Hello all, I just got Windows 8.1 Pro as a gift from a friend and installed it just a few hours ago, and I noticed that I am having audio problems.

Basically put, it's sort of random when this happens, but it seems to happen when sounds play rapidly, as letting a audio que play it's part will play with no popping nosies, here is an example of me showing this by using the sound that plays when you change audio:
Vocaroo | Voice message

The first 10 seconds are me playing the sound slow, with no popping. Then the sound starts popping when I change volume rapidly.

I also checked DPC Latency Checker and everything is running smoothly:
imgur: the simple image sharer

I have all the latest drivers installed, and this happens with with no drivers. I just can't seem to figure out what the issue is here.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I've tried disabling drivers, removing the USB Keyboard and Mouse, as well as setting the audio to CD Quality.

Thanks in Advance to the person who could help me with this.

What type of speaker system are you using ? Monitor with HDMI, check video card settings ? Could be conflicting driver, possibly Video card. Also mattering to speakers used, check for loose connections, something could be disturbing speakers.

Lots of reasons for popping and stuttering. Integrated card or PCI Slot Card?

Hi folks!

I had an error reading "Notification tool for Realtek Audio Chip has stopped working". I looked on Google for this error and Yahoo Answers came up with this: Acer. Notification tool for RealTek audio chip has stopped working. After nvidia driver update help? - Yahoo! UK & Ireland Answers

Jeezers replies with "device manager > sound video, game controller > uninstall realtek > restart your comp and let windows reload the drivers"

I followed these instructions, but it appears to have killed my stereo mix function. Does anyone know how I could get it back please? I have hunted for it all through my system but just can't find it anymore! I also have all devices shown, hidden and unused ones alike.

Many thanks!

I'm having a strange problem in my HTPC. Audio is coming perfectly fine out from the S/PDIF coaxial output, and it's normally connected only that way to the receiver, but now for other reasons I also need to connect it using a 3.5 mm to a small mixer. So in the sound manager I changed the output to the "Speakers", and in fact the Realtek sound manager detects that a cable is plugged into that output and shows me the dialog where it's selected. Problem is, nothing comes out.

I know it's not the 3.5mm to RCA cable because I plugged in my phone, played some music and I can hear it just fine. But the rear speaker (green) output puts out no sound at all, as I also tested it plugging headphones. On the Sound Windows panel where you can select the playback device I can see the volume level move up and down when I'm playing any media file, as well as in the Volume Mixer. If I switch back to the S/PDIF output and change the input in my receiver, audio is coming just fine.

I haven't tried the front outputs because they are not connected. The motherboard has HD Audio but the case has AC97 connectors, so I never cared to connect them because I don't use them. I know the rear green output worked at some point because I remember having a pair of computer speakers connected to it a few years ago.

I found out after a while. In the popup dialog when a cable is plugged in, I had selected "Rear speaker out" mistakenly thinking it was talking about the rear output, not the rear speakers in a 5.1 speaker setting. Changing to "Front speaker out" solved the problem.

Recently, I started getting problems with my audio on my alienware X51 R2 (I'm on windows 10). After a long time of searching for solutions all over the internet like on forums, I've come to the point where the only possible solution to my problem is using the realtek hd audio manager. How could I restore the original version of this software or at least disable the alienware audio version?
