Q: Firefox, Ie7 And Pinball Game, Firefox.exe And Internet Explorer.exe

Well when i get on firefox and IE7 its comes up saying firefox.exe incounters problems we need to close this, same with IE7 i cannot get on any site to i got browse the net, and also it happens to a pinball game, in the games on all programs.

When i just click on the Pinball game, it open then closes.
Is there a way to stop this from happening?
I am not sure if this is Malware or a threat to the computer, but maybe you guys here may know if it is or not.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey everyone:

I'm running Windows XP and I'd like to update my browser to the easiest yet most secure application. I'm currently running Internet Explorer, so I'm leaning towards IE8. However, i've heard lots of rumors about IE...that it's not secure, that there are bugs with the new IE8. With firefox, friends have told me that it isn't as easy to navigate but is safer to use than IE.

If anyone out there can tell me the pros and cons with using IE vs. Firefox I'd truly appreciate it. Also, if there's anyone out there that's having serious problems with IE8 and wouldn't suggest, please let me know! I've seen the postings with being unable to access certain websites using IE8 like pogo.com (a site that I love to use!)

Thanks in advance guys

A:Internet Explorer 8 vs. Firefox

Which you prefer is really a matter of personal preference. In no particular order, here is a list of reasons to prefer Firefox.
1. It is not a MS product.
2. It is not a part of the Windows Operating System.
3. Security patches and system enhancements are frequent and timely.
4. With the use of add-ons, you can tailor your browser to meet very individual needs.
5. It is not a MS product.
6. It loads (at least for me) pages much faster than IE.
7. It includes a spell-check function for Internet entries ( I am an forum addict).
8. Bookmarks are easy to organise and are automatically backed up.
9. Personal preferences are kept in separate files, so you can reinstall Firefox without loosing them.
10. It is not a MS product.

John

Hello, I have a computer that has Firefox and Internet Explorer installed (latest updates) on Windows XP Pro and everytime I launch one of them my computer freezes. It does not display an error of any kind. I cannot do anything. Although I can move my mouse anywhere. I've ran programs Ashampoo, PC Checkup and a Register clean up program. I don't know if those are any good but apperantly they do not do anything to fix my issue. I know I have access to the internet because I can connect to my messenger.

Yesterday I re-installed Firefox (trying my last way of fixing this issue) and after I finished installing it, it launched to its default website. I then closed the browser, I launched it again to recheck and my computer froze up again.

Please help me

Thank you

Hello to everybody in this forum.
Just a dumb question from me, again to start the new year.
Should/would a site look exactly the same whether using FF or IE?
I am obviously asking as I have found a site which i have to log into,
where there is a difference between the Two?
Not life threating, but would appreciate any feedback.
Thank-you

A:Firefox and Internet Explorer

The site obviously looks the same on both FF & IE.
Difference being when i hit the settings tab, selecting
privacy, on IE, I get the option to change my password,
Whereas, that same page appears different on FF,
Could it be a setup/settings issue that i can adjust?

Internet Explorer VS. Firefox - Which is better?

A:Internet Explorer VS. Firefox

I think googling firefox vs. ie would be a start.

Personally I use firefox, I used to use ie.
Not everything works in firefox(most normal webpages do), for example sites that use active x don't work, like windows update, so you still need to keep ie around even if it isn't the main browser. I really can't stand using ie anymore after using firefox, mainly because of tab browsing, although you can achieve a similar effect by just opening ie several times, or installing a browser add on like maxthon.

But IMO, Firefox is way better, I love tabs, and the find as you type thing is nice too, plus there are extensions that let you add features that you like, and themes to change the look.

I have been using Firefox as my internet browser, yet Internet Explorer still pops up with advertisements from several companies or AOL searches for products (such as: www.searchfeed.com, c5.zedo.com/jsc/c5/ff2.html?n=377;c=99;s=36;d=27;w=1024;h=768, www.pcsecurityshield.com/lp/shield-deluxe-5.aspx?trk=WTK&affid=541, url.adtrgt.com, and other companies). These seem to pop up every few minutes.

My computer's desktop image was changed to a blue screen with a yellow box that read "Virus detected, please download an adware remover" and as a computer administrator (on our multi-user computer) i had privileges such as removing programs and changing my desktop settings. About the same time as the pop ups started occurring, I lost my administrative privileges. *note, this problem has been solved, but i thought that it may be relevant*

I asked a friend of mine to help me, and he told me to run several programs: SpyBot S&D, Spy-Ad exterminator, and HijackThis. While these programs did detect many infected files and what not, my problem didn't go away (completely), so i did a system restore and the only things that remained were the pop ups that opened in Internet Explorer.

Last week my computer had a virus that I successfully removed using Malwarebytes. Since then I have been unable to access the internet using my default browser Google Chrome (instead I receive a 'This Webpage is not available.' message with the error: Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): Unknown error.

Or with internet explorer where the following message is received: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

Yet it works fine with Firefox. I then tried signing in via Windows Live Messenger where it failed and upon doing the connection troubleshooter received an exclamation mark next to the proxy and key ports sections.

Is there any way for me to fix it so that I can have normal internet access? One major problem right now is that I cannot even upload pictures via Photobucket or even e-mail where Google Chrome gives the message: Attachment failed. This may be due to a proxy or firewall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After trying for about a week with the various anti-spyware softwares that I've had, I have yet been able to find a way to get rid of this virus. It seemingly pops these pop ups randomly: in a new tab in Mozilla Firefox and a new window in Internet Explorer. These items only come up if one of them is open, and has never opened up either Interpreter itself. I've blocked several of these IPs with McAfee, but it's still giving me a problem. Most of them seem to be for somewhere called "directdr" which tries to sell some cable service to me.

Also, I know that I have two active-ish scanner, both McAfee and Avast!, but they have yet to conflict in the years that I have used them, nor have they scanned at the same time or any other such things. I suppose having two just makes me feel secure, and both have something that the other doesn't.

First, we need to make Internet Explorer stop checking to see if it's the default browser. To do that, we need the Internet Options control panel. This can be opened in 3 different ways, but I think the easiest way is by doing this: open the Start Menu, type internet options, and press Enter.

In this little control panel, switch to the Programs tab. In there, look near the top of it and disable the setting called "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default browser". Then click OK.

Now open Firefox. In Firefox, open the Tools menu at the top and select "Options". In the Options control panel, switch to the Advanced tab (on the top-right). In the Advanced tab, enable the setting "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup". Click OK.

Now, restart Firefox. If it asks you if you want to make it the default browser, then click Yes. After that, you should be all set.

i am currently running IE 6.0 but i did have IE7.0 & Firefox i would like to know the pros and cons of each and which one people prefer

A:Internet Explorer 7.0 Or Mozilla Firefox

Never used IE7.Have 6 installed.I don't like anything about IE.I use Firefox. It's a more secure browser than Internet Explorer, because it doesn't use ActiveX controls, but Java applets instead. Also, if a security flaw is discovered (which doesn't happen often), it's usually fixed within a few days, as opposed to the months you have to wait for an Internet Explorer security patchIn most instances, you will find Firefox to be a faster browser than IE, especially if you employ pipelining.Firefox Web Browser - PipeliningThe reason it's faster is because Firefox doesn't come pre-loaded with a bunch of features you don't need. You can run Firefox as lean, or as bloated as you want with the use of extensions, which allow you to customize it the way you want it, not the way someone else thinks it should be.Enhancing Firefox with Browser ExtensionsExtensionsNOTE:When adding extensions I'd advise adding one at a time, try it for a couple of days, and if no problems arise, add another.Sometimes extensions have been known to cause problems, due to incompatibility's, or corrupt downloads. If you install them one at a time, and test it, it's easier to troubleshoot if one starts causing problems.I've been using Firefox for several years (since it was known as Firebird), and wouldn't go back to IE for any reason.I think once you get used to using it, you'll feel the same way.Give it a try, you have nothing to lose.If you don't like it, just uninstall it, that easy. You can find other alternati... I am having trouble with my computer. I ran AVG9, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Malwarebyte. Initially, the malware would not let me open any of the antivirus or anti-malware programs. It would pop up with a message saying that my computer was infected with something and I should click on a box for it to clean it. Instead of cleaning it, however, it would bring me to a website. I was able to get it to stop doing that. I ran in safe mode and then tried to quickly run spybot while the computer was still loading. That seemed to work and spybot was able to run. It found a few things (log posted below). But I now get both internet explorer and firefox redirected. IE was redirected to http:/// or something like http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=www.google.com&fr=chr-i3753 Firefox says that the proxy server is refusing connections. I tried changing firefox's settings to no proxy, same result. Other programs can access the internet (e.g. Southwest Ding get alerts, and Spybot and AVG can update itself). I tried running Malwarebyte (log below). It found a few things, but still can't use IE or Firefox. Restarted several times. Re-ran AVG, Spybot, and Malwarebytes, found nothing.

Any help that you can provide would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Everytime i open internet explorer it freezes and the message "internet explorer has stopped". I installed firefox, but that also has the same problem.

have tried..
-reset internet, clear history/cookies
-open IE with no addons
-updating IE
-AVG virus and rootkit scan
-super antispyware scan
-system restore
-msconfig - disabled all services and startup
-ipconfig /flushdns
- Sfc /scan
-boot labtop in safe mode with networking, IE actaully stays open for about 10-20seconds, but then the message "internet explorer has stopped working" still appears

I'v tried everything i could think of, but nothing has worked so far...
If anyone knows a possible solution to this problem please help, and thank you in advance.

Hey I'm having a problem with both web browsers. First internet explorer is constantly opening by itself and then crashing instantly giving me the "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." message, and this just happens constantly over and over, a pop up every few minutes. I've tried to open Firefox and I get the same message only it doesn't open by itself.

I recently got infected with malware and I think I've deleted them all, they were the Vungo Trojan and something called Maldefense. Malware bytes said it deleted Vungo and Maldefense but I'm not so sure. I'm currently using Windows XP Home Edition. I've also run CC cleaner but this did not help at all, currently I'm getting the pop ups now as I type this. Any help is appreciated as I have no idea how this happened.

I have no sound in IE 8 or Firefox. I have sound everywhere else, my vlc and music and windows sounds all work fine. I have Realtek HD audio drivers installed. Before you make suggestions, let me assure you that I have tried uninstallation and reinstallation of the drivers, flash player, IE, Firefox, etc. I have also tried the registry fix that includes the wavemapper key, i have made sure that web pages could play audio, I have made sure that third party flash and other such programs were enabled, I have disabled all firewalls and antivirus programs that could possibly interfere, I've even tried the control panel settings where you click on "complete navigation...blah blah". Nothing works! I am running Vista x64, i was using IE 7 (which the sound did not work in either) and upgraded to 8 which still does not work. There is no sound from places such as YouTube or even on google there are no clicking sounds when navigating from one page to the next. Any suggestions>??
Oh btw I've checked the sound devices and everything is fine and working great everywhere else, just not online. I don't know if this will help, but when I access the internet from outside the OS using Express Gate, I can hear sounds on the net. Thanks.

Microsoft has figured out how to get websites to stop treating Internet Explorer like a second-class web browser: it?s going to disguise itself as Firefox. A simple tweak to the Internet Explorer 11 user agent string has been spotted, thanks to an early build of Windows Blue leaking to the web over the weekend.

The switch takes place in the first segment of the string. Right after the Mozilla/5.0 you?ll notice IE 11.0. In Internet Explorer 10, the same space is occupied by compatible; MSIE 10.0. At the end of the string, Microsoft has also tacked on the like Gecko statement. It?s a subtle change, but it?s all that?s required to convince websites that Microsoft isn?t a browser that requires special treatment. If a website is sniffing user agents before serving up customized code, these tweaks essentially tell it ?this is a Gecko-powered browser, like Mozilla Firefox.?

It's becoming a real pain
