Q: Firefox, Ie7 And Pinball Game, Firefox.exe And Internet Explorer.exe

Well when i get on firefox and IE7 its comes up saying firefox.exe incounters problems we need to close this, same with IE7 i cannot get on any site to i got browse the net, and also it happens to a pinball game, in the games on all programs.

When i just click on the Pinball game, it open then closes.
Is there a way to stop this from happening?
I am not sure if this is Malware or a threat to the computer, but maybe you guys here may know if it is or not.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Internet Explorer VS. Firefox - Which is better?

I am currently using IE but have heard that most people are switching to Firefox.

A:Internet Explorer VS. Firefox

I think googling firefox vs. ie would be a start.

Personally I use firefox, I used to use ie.
Not everything works in firefox(most normal webpages do), for example sites that use active x don't work, like windows update, so you still need to keep ie around even if it isn't the main browser. I really can't stand using ie anymore after using firefox, mainly because of tab browsing, although you can achieve a similar effect by just opening ie several times, or installing a browser add on like maxthon.

But IMO, Firefox is way better, I love tabs, and the find as you type thing is nice too, plus there are extensions that let you add features that you like, and themes to change the look.

my OS: XP pro

I have been using Firefox as my internet browser, yet Internet Explorer still pops up with advertisements from several companies or AOL searches for products (such as: www.searchfeed.com, c5.zedo.com/jsc/c5/ff2.html?n=377;c=99;s=36;d=27;w=1024;h=768, www.pcsecurityshield.com/lp/shield-deluxe-5.aspx?trk=WTK&affid=541, url.adtrgt.com, and other companies). These seem to pop up every few minutes.

My computer's desktop image was changed to a blue screen with a yellow box that read "Virus detected, please download an adware remover" and as a computer administrator (on our multi-user computer) i had privileges such as removing programs and changing my desktop settings. About the same time as the pop ups started occurring, I lost my administrative privileges. *note, this problem has been solved, but i thought that it may be relevant*

I asked a friend of mine to help me, and he told me to run several programs: SpyBot S&D, Spy-Ad exterminator, and HijackThis. While these programs did detect many infected files and what not, my problem didn't go away (completely), so i did a system restore and the only things that remained were the pop ups that opened in Internet Explorer.

Hello to everybody in this forum.
Just a dumb question from me, again to start the new year.
Should/would a site look exactly the same whether using FF or IE?
I am obviously asking as I have found a site which i have to log into,
where there is a difference between the Two?
Not life threating, but would appreciate any feedback.
Thank-you

A:Firefox and Internet Explorer

The site obviously looks the same on both FF & IE.
Difference being when i hit the settings tab, selecting
privacy, on IE, I get the option to change my password,
Whereas, that same page appears different on FF,
Could it be a setup/settings issue that i can adjust?

Hello, I have a computer that has Firefox and Internet Explorer installed (latest updates) on Windows XP Pro and everytime I launch one of them my computer freezes. It does not display an error of any kind. I cannot do anything. Although I can move my mouse anywhere. I've ran programs Ashampoo, PC Checkup and a Register clean up program. I don't know if those are any good but apperantly they do not do anything to fix my issue. I know I have access to the internet because I can connect to my messenger.

Yesterday I re-installed Firefox (trying my last way of fixing this issue) and after I finished installing it, it launched to its default website. I then closed the browser, I launched it again to recheck and my computer froze up again.

Hey everyone:

I'm running Windows XP and I'd like to update my browser to the easiest yet most secure application. I'm currently running Internet Explorer, so I'm leaning towards IE8. However, i've heard lots of rumors about IE...that it's not secure, that there are bugs with the new IE8. With firefox, friends have told me that it isn't as easy to navigate but is safer to use than IE.

If anyone out there can tell me the pros and cons with using IE vs. Firefox I'd truly appreciate it. Also, if there's anyone out there that's having serious problems with IE8 and wouldn't suggest, please let me know! I've seen the postings with being unable to access certain websites using IE8 like pogo.com (a site that I love to use!)

Thanks in advance guys

A:Internet Explorer 8 vs. Firefox

Which you prefer is really a matter of personal preference. In no particular order, here is a list of reasons to prefer Firefox.
1. It is not a MS product.
2. It is not a part of the Windows Operating System.
3. Security patches and system enhancements are frequent and timely.
4. With the use of add-ons, you can tailor your browser to meet very individual needs.
5. It is not a MS product.
6. It loads (at least for me) pages much faster than IE.
7. It includes a spell-check function for Internet entries ( I am an forum addict).
8. Bookmarks are easy to organise and are automatically backed up.
9. Personal preferences are kept in separate files, so you can reinstall Firefox without loosing them.
10. It is not a MS product.

Last week my computer had a virus that I successfully removed using Malwarebytes. Since then I have been unable to access the internet using my default browser Google Chrome (instead I receive a 'This Webpage is not available.' message with the error: Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): Unknown error.

Or with internet explorer where the following message is received: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

Yet it works fine with Firefox. I then tried signing in via Windows Live Messenger where it failed and upon doing the connection troubleshooter received an exclamation mark next to the proxy and key ports sections.

Is there any way for me to fix it so that I can have normal internet access? One major problem right now is that I cannot even upload pictures via Photobucket or even e-mail where Google Chrome gives the message: Attachment failed. This may be due to a proxy or firewall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I have bad news for you I see you're dealing with Virut on top of the other nasty malware you are dealing with. I am having issues downloading using both here are the details. So I was trying to free up some space on the computer and it was really slow I also had issues with my web browser I would go to a new webpage and it would briefly load then it would almost freeze and I would click again and it would say not responding I would wait for about 2 minutes or so and it would finally work I would click on another link and it would do the same so after trying to free up memory I just said screw it and did a factory reset, so after that I got online with internet explorer and typed in google and I am getting a message saying internet explorer cannot display webpage so I was able to use bing and I was going to download adobe flash and the webpage is very basic there is no background there are images but they wont show up they have an x in the top left corner also there was no install button so I went to firefox using bing and downloaded it. Everything on firefox is working great except I cant download anything I can save it and view it on my ongoing downloads but I cant open it to download it. Any ideas? Thank you

The problems started when I tried to update Firefox. Firefox installed, with no indication of a problem. I then went to run it and noticed that all the links and shortcuts to it had disappeared. I opened IE to download it again and found that while it goes through all the motions of downloading and installing, the Mozilla folder has nothing executable inside of it. (Yes, all of those folders are empty.)I've also tried downloading Chrome with the same results.I'm also finding that anything I install instantly vanishes. Though, vanishes isn't really the right word- more like was never there in the first place.I cannot do a system restore.I cannot delete certain files.I can only run IE.I cannot open many of my game files.I have run Spybot, but my computer will not quarintine the files.I have a hijack this log if this will help you to help me.I know that the rule is one problem per post, but I'm pretty sure all of these problems have the same origin.Edit: Moved topic from Vista to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

This program will remove the +H, or hidden, attribute from all the files on your hard drives. If there are any files that were purposely hidden by you, you will need to hide them again after this tool is run. Please go here....Preparation Guide ,do steps 6 - 9.Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9,which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks. If Gmer won't run, skip it and move on.Don't forhet your HJT>Let me know if that went well.

Hi, I've had this problem before and you guys helped me fix it easily and instantaneously so thanks so much! But now it's happening again so I'm back because whenever I use Firefox, Internet Explorer pops up and display a random site, causing my computer to stall. I have followed the 5 steps for posting the thread and believe I had downloaded and ran all scans required. Please let me know if I'm missing anything and I really appreciate you help. Thanks!

The Panda Active Scan file is attached as well as the extra.txt file (the DSS for some reason didn't produce an extra.txt file for me when I ran it this time, but it did produce one when I ran it almost a month ago so I attached that one just in case... if you need a more current one, please let me know what I can do to get it to appear) Thanks!

i was wondering if internet explorer was needed if i have mozilla firefox because im trying to speed up my computer.. its been very slow lately.

A:is internet explorer necessary if i have mozilla firefox

I don't think they let you uninstall IE from vista.

And no, I wouldn't uninstall IE, there are still some sites incompatible with firefox. And if you really need to view a page for work or school right away, then you do not want to take the chance of having to search for and download Internet Explorer (IE) at the last minute.

Although if you are able to uninstall IE, you could reinstall a lighter, older version of IE.

Also, there could be other things slowing you down. Press ALT+CTRL+Delete then go to task manager.

Have media player IE or some other program to use as benchmark and look at the memory usage.

If you have programs running that seem to be using a lot of memory, investigate what they are and if you need them running. If not, then uninstall, close, or change there settings so they are not running all the time.

But it could be your antivirus software is the hog.

First, we need to make Internet Explorer stop checking to see if it's the default browser. To do that, we need the Internet Options control panel. This can be opened in 3 different ways, but I think the easiest way is by doing this: open the Start Menu, type internet options, and press Enter.

In this little control panel, switch to the Programs tab. In there, look near the top of it and disable the setting called "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default browser". Then click OK.

Now open Firefox. In Firefox, open the Tools menu at the top and select "Options". In the Options control panel, switch to the Advanced tab (on the top-right). In the Advanced tab, enable the setting "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup". Click OK.

Now, restart Firefox. If it asks you if you want to make it the default browser, then click Yes. After that, you should be all set.

Hi

Both Firefox and Internet Explorer keep crashing.

Also using Search causes an error report.

Message says browser is unstable.

I'm unsure if it is infected. I have Zone Alarm installed and it's never reported anything significant. This has been going on for a few weeks. I did have a clear out of unused programs using add/remove programs, it happened a lot more after that.

It's becoming a real pain
