Firefox, Ie7 And Pinball Game, Firefox.exe And Internet Explorer.exe

Q: Firefox, Ie7 And Pinball Game, Firefox.exe And Internet Explorer.exe

Well when i get on firefox and IE7 its comes up saying firefox.exe incounters problems we need to close this, same with IE7 i cannot get on any site to i got browse the net, and also it happens to a pinball game, in the games on all programs.

When i just click on the Pinball game, it open then closes.
Is there a way to stop this from happening?
I am not sure if this is Malware or a threat to the computer, but maybe you guys here may know if it is or not.

Cheers,

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Internet Explorer VS. Firefox - Which is better?

I am currently using IE but have heard that most people are switching to Firefox.

I haven't even seen Firefox much less used it, so I dont know if it is any good?

A:Internet Explorer VS. Firefox

I think googling firefox vs. ie would be a start.

Personally I use firefox, I used to use ie.
Not everything works in firefox(most normal webpages do), for example sites that use active x don't work, like windows update, so you still need to keep ie around even if it isn't the main browser. I really can't stand using ie anymore after using firefox, mainly because of tab browsing, although you can achieve a similar effect by just opening ie several times, or installing a browser add on like maxthon.

But IMO, Firefox is way better, I love tabs, and the find as you type thing is nice too, plus there are extensions that let you add features that you like, and themes to change the look.

Hey everyone:

I'm running Windows XP and I'd like to update my browser to the easiest yet most secure application. I'm currently running Internet Explorer, so I'm leaning towards IE8. However, i've heard lots of rumors about IE...that it's not secure, that there are bugs with the new IE8. With firefox, friends have told me that it isn't as easy to navigate but is safer to use than IE.

If anyone out there can tell me the pros and cons with using IE vs. Firefox I'd truly appreciate it. Also, if there's anyone out there that's having serious problems with IE8 and wouldn't suggest, please let me know! I've seen the postings with being unable to access certain websites using IE8 like pogo.com (a site that I love to use!)

Thanks in advance guys

A:Internet Explorer 8 vs. Firefox

Which you prefer is really a matter of personal preference. In no particular order, here is a list of reasons to prefer Firefox.
1. It is not a MS product.
2. It is not a part of the Windows Operating System.
3. Security patches and system enhancements are frequent and timely.
4. With the use of add-ons, you can tailor your browser to meet very individual needs.
5. It is not a MS product.
6. It loads (at least for me) pages much faster than IE.
7. It includes a spell-check function for Internet entries ( I am an forum addict).
8. Bookmarks are easy to organise and are automatically backed up.
9. Personal preferences are kept in separate files, so you can reinstall Firefox without loosing them.
10. It is not a MS product.

I have been using Firefox as my internet browser, yet Internet Explorer still pops up with advertisements from several companies or AOL searches for products (such as: www.searchfeed.com, c5.zedo.com/jsc/c5/ff2.html?n=377;c=99;s=36;d=27;w=1024;h=768, www.pcsecurityshield.com/lp/shield-deluxe-5.aspx?trk=WTK&affid=541, url.adtrgt.com, and other companies). These seem to pop up every few minutes.

My computer's desktop image was changed to a blue screen with a yellow box that read "Virus detected, please download an adware remover" and as a computer administrator (on our multi-user computer) i had privileges such as removing programs and changing my desktop settings. About the same time as the pop ups started occurring, I lost my administrative privileges. *note, this problem has been solved, but i thought that it may be relevant*

I asked a friend of mine to help me, and he told me to run several programs: SpyBot S&D, Spy-Ad exterminator, and HijackThis. While these programs did detect many infected files and what not, my problem didn't go away (completely), so i did a system restore and the only things that remained were the pop ups that opened in Internet Explorer.

Hello to everybody in this forum.
Just a dumb question from me, again to start the new year.
Should/would a site look exactly the same whether using FF or IE?
I am obviously asking as I have found a site which i have to log into,
where there is a difference between the Two?
Not life threating, but would appreciate any feedback.
Thank-you

A:Firefox and Internet Explorer

The site obviously looks the same on both FF & IE.
Difference being when i hit the settings tab, selecting
privacy, on IE, I get the option to change my password,
Whereas, that same page appears different on FF,
Could it be a setup/settings issue that i can adjust?

Hello, I have a computer that has Firefox and Internet Explorer installed (latest updates) on Windows XP Pro and everytime I launch one of them my computer freezes. It does not display an error of any kind. I cannot do anything. Although I can move my mouse anywhere. I've ran programs Ashampoo, PC Checkup and a Register clean up program. I don't know if those are any good but apperantly they do not do anything to fix my issue. I know I have access to the internet because I can connect to my messenger.

Yesterday I re-installed Firefox (trying my last way of fixing this issue) and after I finished installing it, it launched to its default website. I then closed the browser, I launched it again to recheck and my computer froze up again.

Last week my computer had a virus that I successfully removed using Malwarebytes. Since then I have been unable to access the internet using my default browser Google Chrome (instead I receive a 'This Webpage is not available.' message with the error: Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): Unknown error.

Or with internet explorer where the following message is received: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

Yet it works fine with Firefox. I then tried signing in via Windows Live Messenger where it failed and upon doing the connection troubleshooter received an exclamation mark next to the proxy and key ports sections.

Is there any way for me to fix it so that I can have normal internet access? One major problem right now is that I cannot even upload pictures via Photobucket or even e-mail where Google Chrome gives the message: Attachment failed. This may be due to a proxy or firewall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you need to reset IE as your default browser. Open up internet explorer and and under the 'TOOLS' menu you with find 'Internet Options'.

Under the Internet Options window, choose the 'Programs' tab.

Towards the bottom you will see a button that says 'Make default'. That will revert IE6 back to being your default browser. To prevent this from happening in the future, also check the box that says 'Tell me if IE is not the default browser'.

Um.. hi.

I'm having some problems with my laptop, I'm not sure if its Vista, my wireless card, but I'm pretty sure its not my router or ISP's fault...

Firefox and Internet Explorer stop working at random times, giving messages such as Unable to connect to server, connection timed out, etc. but my other applications that need internet connectivity work fine. MSN Messenger works and I am able to talk to others, I am able to ping other sites fine as well. P2P networks are also up and running.

Repairing the connection works at times, and sometimes it starts working again after a while, but for the most part its down until I restart the computer.

Is there any way to fix the problem? Thanks in advance and sorry for the inconvinience.

I can use firefox perfectly fine on my computer which is running windows 7, and now when I open internet explorer it says I don't have a internet connection, and the only real reason I need this resolved is I'm a college student that has to use a lockdown browser, and the lockdown browser does the same thing, I have downloaded AVG and Malware Bytes, and they found a trojan horse each and was successfully removed, but yet I still can't access IE or the lockdown browser, and I have ran countless scans by the 2 programs and they come back with nothing each time, I really need help to solve this problem, because I'm a broke college student and have to have this lockdown browser working, PLEASE HELP!!!!

Since earlier today I have been getting Internet Explorer popups mostly for games and gambling. One of them appeared to be promoting AVG which I have. The popups cannot be closed except by Windows Task Manager (control alt delete). Within a session the popups return after they have been closed. I would not know whether they are classed as adware, spyware or whateverware and I don't know anything about software to combat this problem. I have AVG and I ran it but the popups still come back and I am not even sure if the AVG window I see is not itself some kind of nastyware.

Hi guys,

I started noticing a problem with one of my PCs where at first a certain folder in My Documents started closing at random and it would pop up with an error message with something about Dr. Watson program error message (Hope that rings a few bells.) A few restarts later, I was unable to access Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. Every time I clicked on the icons, it would give error message: "This file may have been moved or your account may not have permission to access this file."

I went into Safe Mode and ran a full system scan using AVG but could not find anything. I also tried the Avast Worm Cleaner tool but did not find anything. Funny thing is that in Safe Mode, I am able to use Firefox or Internet Explorer (using the same account). I also tried installing and running Trojan Remover which found an exe file in the System directory that seemed suspicious but after removing it, and running the computer in normal mode, the issue persists. In Normal mode, if I right click on FireFox and "run as" I can choose the account, I choose myself again and it seemed to open and work for me. That was yesterday.

Now, I am unable to access the internet even in Safe Mode now.

I just happen to clic on IE 8 this morning (cause my ISP home page has local weather on it) ....and discovered to my chagrin that it loads faster than Firefox 3.6.

I don't have any add-ons on IE 8, nor do I on Firefox (except for AdBlock Plus).

What is going on? I use Firefox as my selected browser and just installed 3.6, as suggested to me in a previous post. I luv the ABC+ features because it does really block most all ads anywhere I go.

My problem is that I have IE 7 and firefox 3, and recently they stopped working properly. What exactly happens is that when you click one any of them to open, they will load for half a second then close, as if i hit the 'x' button, no messages, no warning. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both programs but same problem.
This is the funny thing though, I ran a subscribed and paid version of webroot spy sweeper with anti-virus on my computer. It found trojans and other viruses, and I quickly deleted them. Then both Internet explorer and firefox were opening and quickly closing. I tried limewire and it worked fine with fast connection. later that night by miracle both IE and FF were working, no random closing, however Spy sweeper had a scheduled sweep and it did a thorough sweep of the computer. Now the net was still working, however as soon as i deleted the viruses, bpth firefox and internet explorer stuffed up. I ran anti malware, and still nothing happened, both firefox and internet explorer aren't working, and i really need help to fix this problem. Is there a program or application which can be downloaded, without sending me a virus which will remedy this?
Please help we aussies aren't computer savvy.

I am having trouble with my computer. I ran AVG9, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Malwarebyte. Initially, the malware would not let me open any of the antivirus or anti-malware programs. It would pop up with a message saying that my computer was infected with something and I should click on a box for it to clean it. Instead of cleaning it, however, it would bring me to a website. I was able to get it to stop doing that. I ran in safe mode and then tried to quickly run spybot while the computer was still loading. That seemed to work and spybot was able to run. It found a few things (log posted below). But I now get both internet explorer and firefox redirected. IE was redirected to http:/// or something like http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=www.google.com&fr=chr-i3753 Firefox says that the proxy server is refusing connections. I tried changing firefox's settings to no proxy, same result. Other programs can access the internet (e.g. Southwest Ding get alerts, and Spybot and AVG can update itself). I tried running Malwarebyte (log below). It found a few things, but still can't use IE or Firefox. Restarted several times. Re-ran AVG, Spybot, and Malwarebytes, found nothing.

Any help that you can provide would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
