Sharing a mailbox - Can't see flags

Q: Sharing a mailbox - Can't see flags

2 of us share an In box. For us to make sure we don't both handle the same
email we were using the Flags. In 2003 it was a flag. In 2007 it's a
catagory. One of us is green the other blue.

I upgraded to 2007. The colors still seemed to work but for some reason now
we can't see each others flags/catagories.

Could this have changed with some Microsoft updates? Neither one of us have
changed anything with our Outlook setups.

Preferred Solution: Sharing a mailbox - Can't see flags

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi all

I have two users (on separate, networked PCS running Windows 7) that need to both access one email account, including seeing replies/forwards/sent mail.

An IMAP mailbox would be perfect for this but our company email provider can only provide us with POP3.

Is it possible to set up the mailbox file that outlook uses as a shared file and for both clients to access this?

If not what are my alternatives?

Many thanks

A:Outlook 2007 Mailbox Sharing

Hi badasafish, and welcome to TSG.

I am not sure about Outlook 2007, but I do know that previous versions would not support simultaneous sharing of Outlook files between multiple users.

One possible solution is to have all but one installations of Outlook set to not delete messages on the POP3 server when downloading them to the computer. The one special Outlook account would be set to leave the messages on for a number of days long enough for everyone else to receive their copy. You need to be careful about any storage quota limits on the mail server. If the quota limit is reached, no new incoming messages will be accepted until some older ones are cleared out.

This setup will only show sent messages in the Outlook sent folder on the one computer that sent it. As far as I know, there is no way to easily make it appear in everyone's sent folder. The sender could cc themselves and it would show up as an incoming message for everyone.

Hello everyibe,
We have a hydride infrastructure, with E2016 onpremise and O365 (Exchange, teams...). On both sites we have the same users and separate created mailboxes.
We are migrating mailboxes from Ex2016 to O365 in phases to remove E2016.
Users on both sites have the same mailbox name. Example: E2016 [email protected] and O365 mailbox [email protected]
When we migrate a user's mailbox to O365 and from ExchangeOnline we send an email to a non-migrated user, the email reaches the existing mailbox in O365, not the onpremise mailbox.
An alias has been created for non-migrated users in O365, marking themselves as main and we have tried to delete the default email address given by the username. But even if the latter is deleted, the deleted email address always appears, so the email always
reaches O365 and not E2016.

Is there any way that when a user with a migrated O365 mailbox sends an email to a user with a mailbox in E2016 onpremise, the email does not go to the O365 mailbox and to the onpremise mailbox?
What would be the solution to keep the default username (for teams solutions, etc) and to be able to modify the email in O365?
Thank you

Q: Flags

Is there any chance you could change the way flags are displayed. For instance it would be nice if you could hover over the flag and it would tell you which country or state you live in?

Good idea, it would save a lot of generally inaccurate guesswork.

Just curious to know in "about flags" there is an option "override software rendering" - enabling GPU rendering on unsupported system configuration.

Just curious what exactly this does? Doesn't IE9 use GPU rendering on all pages as well by default?

A:Chrome About:Flags

IE9 does have Hardware Acceleration set to On by default, yes. But if it detects an older GFX card that doesn't support HA, it will just use software instead.

So that line here - "override software rendering" - enabling GPU rendering on unsupported system configuration. I would assume means it's for using/forcing HA on an unsupported configuration/card.

email messages are set to show the yellow flag when unopened. If I open an email below one that has not been opened, the flag on the email above the one I opened turns to grey instead of staying yellow, so it appears as if it was already read, when in fact I have not opened it yet.

Anyone know how to fix this?

My monitor today started showing what looks to be like American flags. There are red and blue things which flash on and off on the screen. They even display when windows is still be loaded - I think. I tested the monitor on another computer and it works fine. I have checked all cables and everything is plugged in all the way. When going into a game which changes the resolution, more of these 'flags' appear. This first started happening after I opened a song file that I downloaded from Limewire. However, it probably isn't related. Here is a screenshot of whats happening: http://www.mypicstudio.com/out.php/i227_update.JPG

Hi, I have had a rash of firewall warnings from the same place with different ip addresses saying there was an invalip tcp flag, exactly what is that? And is there anything that I can do legally? I have emailed them about abuse several times, but it doesn't stop, I sent them everything I found on it, all the ip addresses and timestamps. Now I want to, if possible to sue this company if they are doing something illegal, or trying to.

A:invalid tcp flags

What is your firewall, and what are the IP addresses? Did you check to see who it was? It might actually be your ISP pinging you to see if the IP address you are using is being used, that is if you have a dial-up. If it's a cable modem then perhaps your being scanned by scanners?

I'm setting up a fresh installation of Windows on a little notebook for my daughter to use in college It's running XP Pro, SP3. Office 2003. IE8 and Firefox 3. I've been using it a week now, testing and updating it and had just wrapped it up and cloned the drive for safety last night. THEN Amazingly for such a fresh PC, Avira scanning this morning found "C:\WINDOWS\system32\SBUtils\SBWebCtl.dll " . It quarantined and then deleted the file. And now it's blocking access for C:\System Volume Information\_restore{DAAD8284-5896-4B40-A753-8454BDC2E5A5}\RP84\A0008964.dllIt is detecting it as an Undesired Virus or Program- ADSPY/WindowEnhancer.FSo, I installed MWBAM in safemode and renamed it, started it in regular mode, updated, and it found nothing.Ran SAS in reg mode and nothing.I ran ESET Online Scanner as well, and noticed that when the scanner got to that same System Volume Information area, that Avira popped up and blocked the file again. Denied access. Eset says no threats found.Downloaded Dr.Web. It's Quickscan finds nothing. But it also sets off Avira at a certain point for the same file.Perhaps I should add that I do have Nero ImageDrive installed on this system. I forgot to disable it when I scanned. a friend and i communicate online. occasionally one of us will get infected somehow and then the other person typically does. as if a hacker watches one of us or both of us and just decides to screw around once in awhile.  earlier today in trillian, her text would constantly be selected/deleted without her doing so or it would become bold or italized, even after fully disabling all the keyboard shortcut commands.
further, they seem to be able to disable our scanning programs from producing any results.  example : every single time i run superantispyware or hitmanpro i typically get at the very least, a ton of tracking cookies. however, not anymore.  they don't find anything which to me means they have been remotely modified somehow.  i don't know. even when i uninstall and reinstall them they still don't seem to work.

Hi there,my name is Marius and I will assist you with your malware related problems. Before we move on, please read the following points carefully. First, read my instructions completely. If there is anything that you do not understand kindly ask before proceeding. Perform everything in the correct order. Sometimes one step requires the previous one. If you have any problems while following my instructions, Stop there and tell me the exact nature of your problem. Do not run any other scans without instruction or add/remove software unless I tell you to do so. This would change the output of our tools and could be confusing for me. My wife's old XP PC gave her fits last night. Security Defender informed her that she had 17 booboos including a keystroke logger and she had bettter hurry and spend $80 on their cleaner or all of her credit card info would be harvested in China. Something like that. Security Defender was was very insistent and not really good with English so I looked her up. Sure enough, some kind of malware / scam.

So I started running AV scans, OneCare scans, and finally, a new highjackthis scan. Then, I pasted the HJT log into a parser and got some red-flagged items. I "fixed" those items, but Security Defender hung in there.

Cut to my new Win 7 PC. I thought hmmm, maybe I should run HJT and parse the log on the new PC as well. I did, and got lots of red-flagged lines, including 23 O23s.

Then, I read something that made me doubt the utility of fixing HJT problems, specifically, somethat said OTL is the new standard for finding and fixing PC malware problems. My impression is that OTL logs are processed somewhat in the same manner as HJT logs: copy and paste to forum (like bleepingcomputer) where somebody would look at the logs and recommend fixes.

Two questions: (1) Is that impression correct? (2) Is bleepingcomputer a forum that looks at OTL logs?

If yes and yes, where should I go to post my two OTL logs?

If no and no, any alternative advice would be greatly appreciated.

PS: Furthermore, I want to eradicate Security Defender from my wife's PC.

I have tried reinstating windows defender (was corrupted) by partitioning the hdd with a new install and copying over the windows defender files and deleting the old corrupt ones but now it says it cant run the service, (isn't there). I have tried various options of turning off the smartscreen filter and that does nothing, I'm pulling my hair out now, really stuck on this guys and I really really don't want to do a fresh install again.

I'm running IE10 on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit.
Seen problems with AVG but never had it installed and searched for it but that didn't come up with anything.

Hai friends. When we looked at our startup programs list using a startup manager like Spybot S&D or Browser Hijack Retaliator , i see lot of startup programs uses an additional flag at the end of there file path.I.E. C:\Program file\MSN Messanger\msnmsgr.exe /backgroundWhat is this /background flags tel the perticuler program?like wise there are some other flags too. i am very happy if get a description of each flags.1. /background2. -osboot3 -quit (Yahoo messanger uses this flag)There can some other flags. if there please inclede them in the list.Looking forward to the answers.

A:Windows Xp Startup Flags

well /background would mean that the program operates in the background of the processes. os boot I would assume means the program opens on the operating system bootstrap and quit could be telling yahoo to open a different program when it quits, possibly when you exit out of a chat and it goes to the toolbar or something similar.

I'm looking for a program that sort of flags a file. For example, I have a .pdf file that I already read, so I want to be able to right click the file and label it in some sort of way, so that I don't read it again. I'm just looking for some easy way to label and distinguish a file from other files within Windows Explorer.

A:Program that flags files

I don't know of such an app off-hand.

If the PDFs are in the same folder, you may consider creating a new sub-folder called "read" and move the file after reading it.

A:The Yellow Flags of death. HELP!

I have looked at this post frequently hoping someone would have an answer, from what you have said I am assuming you are not online because of your driver problem I hope you know the manufacturer of your network controller drivers because these are the ones you will have to install to get online, most people have there drivers saved to an external device to reinstall after a reformatt. But if you know the name of the manufacturer you can go to the home page and download the drivers even on another computer and save them to a floppy or cd to install on your computer. If you have belarc on your computer this will tell you the manufacturers name.
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html but if you are not online how can you download it. I hope you know the manufacturers name, what I would do is take it to a computer shop where I think they will have devices to find out all this, or maybe some one more knowledgable than me will post, I will keep my eye on this post. Sorry I could not be any more help but this is a difficult post.

I am pretty sure my laptop is infected.
Running XP Professional SP 2
My Symantec system scan consistently identifies c:\WINDOWS\system32\cl.dll. Calls it a Trojan Horse. It fails to clean virus from file or quarantine.

I downloaded ClamWin and ran it but it did not flag this file.

Installed Windows Defender with same result.

The virus behavior is as follows...
When running Internet Explorer after a few minutes additional IE browser is started and system scan software is offered saying my computer is infected. It keeps popping up browsers and I have to quickly close the browsers sometimes using Task Manager to do it.

I also have a intermittent issue where sometimes I return from a being away from my laptop and find a blank MS Paint screen has popped up. Not sure if this is related to above.

If I run Firefox browser I do not have any problems (that I am aware of) or popups

I also downloaded [email protected] and tried their MoveOnBoot option. This product allows define of a specific path and file name and the option to delete, rename or move the file as the OS is rebooting. I tried the Delete option (not sure if this was smart) but it did not work. I am not sure I ran it correctly, as I cannot locate a log file indicating any action was taken or attempted.

I will appreciate any and all help.

I just bought a new laptop and after loading Office 2003 and formatting Outlook to get to my emails, I noticed that no flags were shown by the messages that I had already flagged. I also noticed that I cannot flag any of my emails. It is not an option in either the shortcut menu or on the toolbar. Nor can I figure out how to make it an option. My new computer is running Vista Home premium 64 bit. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. My old computer was running XP and it worked fine.
My server is an HTTP account through MSN.
Another thing I noticed was that there are no attachment icons next to any of the emails in the inbox. When I check them from web-based mail at Windows Live Hotmail, the icons show up.

Sorry if this is repetitive, however, being fairly new, I have not found enough information to know what this is doing. I recently discovered this process running on my machine and so I started looking.

Does anyone know or can anyone point me in the right direction to find what these flags indicate?

YouTube - Microsoft Outlook 2003 - Message Flags

P.S. I tried to insert the YouTube video itself, but failed miserably! So I included the link instead.

Is there any reference site that gives explanations for the experimental settings in "opera://flags/"? I do not understand many of them, and need more information.

I'm helping a friend with an Outlook Express problem, but this one has me stumped. Every message she receives automatically has the flag and the paperclip (for attachments) set. There are no attachments, and no rule has been set up to automatically flag messages. Any suggestions on how to turn off the automatic flag and paperclip? She is running Windows XP and Outlook Express 6.

I have been using this article to customise my run commands. I am trying to execute the command " "C:\Documents and Settings\HP_?garen\Lokala inst?llningar\Application Data\jagexlauncher\bin\JagexLauncher.exe" runescape ", however it says that it cannot find the file. When i remove the last line (thats called a flag, right?) it executes, but the application requires the line to know what application to launch (cause it says that it cant load the parameter file) so it doesnt work. Is there possibly a value i could add to the key which specifies the flags to be used?

A:How can i make my custom run commands use flags?

I think you have to use either the "-" or the "+" sign without the quotes just before the runescape flag. Do not use the quotes around the flag.
Hope this helps.

Unpatched Microsoft bugs raise red flags.

Microsoft has released its security updates for the month of September, but a couple of unpatched flaws have some security experts wondering if the software company will be forced to release an emergency patch sometime in the month ahead.

Security researchers believe that an unpatched flaw in the SMB (Server Message Block) 2 software that ships with Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 could turn into a major headache.

I use Outlook 2003 and set up follow up flags and then sort by "due by" date. I recently got a new computer and inported all my files via pst folder. Everything came over except the dates - how could I get the dates to appear?

A:Outlook 2003 - Dates Follow Up Flags

Hi Djacks

Do you see the Due by date, when you open the .pst file instead of Importing it?

In Outlook 2003:
File > Open > Outlook Data File
Browse to the location of the .pst file and select it.
It should then appear in Outlook.
Are you using the same version of Outlook on the new computer?

A:gbb.flags is nonzero:0x00000039 read-only firmware...

I have the same problem. We purchased alot of laptops for schools and reimaged them. This one came to us with a no power issue. So I replaced the mainboard, and this problem came up. gbb.flags is nonzero:0x00000039read-only firmware id:  Google_Glimmer.5216.198.11active firmware id:  Google_Glimmer.5216.198.11 Along with "OS verification is off at start up." And to turn OS verification on by pressing space key. - pressing space bar key only shows dev_key_switch off or something similar to that (since it goes by pretty fast). I did alot of research on it and it seems that it has something to do with the read/write screw on the Mainboard itself. Hardware manual also said the same thing, but when I removed the read/write screw on the Mainboard, the chromebook still will not let me go into Developer Mode. Did you ever figure out the solutions for this? Are you able to get into developer mode?

I am trying to run the command REG FLAGS "hklm\Software\SomeKey" SET DONT_VIRTUALIZE and each time I run it on a 32bit version of windows 7 in our environment I get the help screen. Even if I put in a bad path instead of getting a message
that the path was wrong I get the help screen.   When I run it on my computer (Windows 7 64bit) it works as expected.
It does the same thing when I try REG FLAGS "hklm\Software\SomeKey" QUERY.  Its like the 32 bit version doesn't know what FLAGS is although it is present in the help screen.

Ideas?  Suggestions?  Recipie ideas?

A:reg.exe FLAGS command not working in 32bit environments

Hi Beast of Burden,
How did you test the command line ?
Input the command one by one manually or copy .Usually syntax screen indicates us that we have typed the wrong command .
Here is the command line I input one by one "reg flags "hklm\software\classes" set dont_virtualize".You can copy it and run it as an administrator to have a check .
We can add the output to check the result of the command line "reg flags "hklm\software\classes" set dont_virtualize >C:\1.txt"
Then check the content recorded in this txt file .(C:\1.txt)
Please also check the permissions of this registry key and the parent key and run the command line with administrative privilages.
Best regards

Hi Guys,

I'm setting up a new system for some of our users, and the long and the short of it is I want them to set flags on the outgoing mail so that when it reaches it's destination, rules on the inbox can use the flag to filter the mail into relevant folders.

For instance, in one example a user may create a new message, fill in the address, subject and body and then click on the 'message flag' icon on the toolbar, overwrite the 'Follow up' string with say 'For Canterbury' and then send their mail. When the mail reaches it's destination a rule reads the 'For Cantebury' flag and moves it into a relevant folder.

Now it all works fine, but the system is set to be expanded, and if possible I'd like to have a toolbar when a user creates a new e-mail, that has buttons relating to all the possible flags, they press the relevant button, and hey pretso the flag is set.

I tried recording a new macro, going through the process above, but none of the actions were recorded, if I had the vba script, I could easily amend it for all the given flags, and create a toolbar, saving them time, and me headaches as they're bound to make typos and the like if they manually have to type the flags.

So can this be done? If so, anyone know how? Or if not, can anyone think of another way of acheiving this?

Hope all that makes sense, and many thanks for any help you're able to offer me.

I have problems on my Windows 8.1 taskbar. Some of my icons have small symbols added to them and one of my programs, Internet Explorer, has TWO icons on the taskbar, one normal and one with an extra symbol overlaid on it. I'd like to know what these extra symbols mean and what I need to do to get rid of them.

This is definitely a case where a picture is worth a thousand words so I've done a screen cap of my task bar.

The icons with the extra symbols are (from left to right): Firefox, and the first Internet Explorer. (Ignore the tiny "1" on the Skype icon; I know that was just someone trying to contact me.) I can't make out what the extra bit on the Firefox and first IE icons is supposed to be; it's too small for me to make out. It could be a tiny "1" or maybe a graphic of a keyhole or something else. In any case, I'm trying to figure out what this signifies and what I need to do about it.

I also want to get rid of the duplicate IE icon and could do that easily enough with a left-click and then an "unpin from taskbar" but will getting rid of that extra bit of graphic on the first IE icon get rid of the duplicate automatically? I'm really not sure what to do here....

I'd appreciate some advice from the experts here :-)

Now that Avira has re-classified IOBit related files as Trojans, how do I suspend or stop Avira?s constant nag popups related to Avira?s IOBit reclassifications? If I completely uninstall all the IOBit related applications and files from my PC and connected exterior storage devices, will that stop or get rid of the IOBit related Avira popups?

Can someone please tell me or direct me to a source to completely uninstall all the IOBit applications on my PC? I?ve tried uninstalling all the IOBit applications prior Avira re-classifying IOBit related files as Trojans, without complete success.

Also, can my PC be harmed if I don?t do anything with all the Quarantine files shown in the Avira Quarantine and Event Logs (Files Attached below)? What do you recommend I do with them?

A:Avira flags IObit PUA to Trojan Issue

Maybe its a false positive and you can report it to Avira.
You can also add them to exeptions.
Or you have cracked them and Avira detects the crack.
