Preferred Solution: How to turn Snipe tool off + why does it randomly turn on?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,
my usb devices (keyboard and mouse) randomly stop working for a second (the lights of the keyboard and mouse also turn off) and then they turn on again, you also hear the usb connection/disconnection sounds.

I've also noticed lately that my computer suddenly gets stuck for a few seconds, nothing moves, but the screen is on, and I try to press keyboard or move the mouse, but nothing happens, and then it comes back to life after a few seconds.

THanks

A:USB devices randomly turn off for a second

I would try a different closer to if not the top number one usb IO slot. Also I would run a deep AV and Malware scan in Safe Mode if needed and see what if anything comes up. Also if the devices have drivers then look for the latest version off the mfg'rs site and download. lastly check the cable for any sharp bends and possible break in the wire which often can't be seen so squeezing the cable all along it's length till you find it connecting and disconnecting more regularly tells you it's a break or loose connection.

So basically both of my monitors shut off randomly. It can happen when the PC is idle and when I'm playing games. Although it seems to happen more often when I'm playing games. I can hear the Computer still running, if I was watching something, it can still be heard through my headphones. Whenever they turn off the computer's fans get louder.

I assumed it must be a temperature problem so I downloaded HWMonitor to look for a cause. I'm not sure about the temperatures, but they look fine to me. Other things to note, I've got two monitors, one is connected directly to my 1070 through HDMI, the other is through a DVI to HDMI. The 1070 is relatively new in my system, I added that and some new RAM a couple of months ago. Didn't start seeing this issue until more recently however. Also after using the SysInfo thing, it says Intel HD graphics is my GPU, not my 1070. Does that mean anything?

If you guys have any ideas that would be greatly appreciated!

Ever since I upgraded my video card to a ATI Radeon 9600, 256, my mouse and keyboard will just turn off at random times. I think it only occurs when the video card is in use. So say if Im playing a game, sometimes 30 minutes in or 2 hours in, the keyboard and mouse will turn off, and then about 5 seconds later, my entire computer reboots itself, which is very frustrating and annoying. Ive installed drivers, and that didnt help either. Why is this happening? My mouse is a Logitech Cordless MouseMan Optical and my keyboard is Logitech Cordless Desktop. I am running on Windows XP.

A:Mouse and Keyboard turn off randomly

Hmm. I'm not sure but you might go to the web sites of your mouse and keyboard maker and make sure that you have the latest drivers available for XP. Also, make sure the keyboard and mouse are plugged in really well to the back of your computer. I too had a weird mouse problem and figured out it was broken wires in the mouse cord. I went to a wireless optical mouse. Don't pooh pooh the easy things. Good luck!

HI, I recenty bought the Ideapad 100s  and am generally satisfied with it. But sometimes (about 7 out of 10 attempts), laptop does not turn off when I shutdown the computer. That is, the power light (one next to the battery light) is still on. In fact, I know that the computer is really not turned off because the battery life goes down when that happens.  So I have to press the power button for about 15 sec to actually turn off the computer. And I do not think manually turning off the computer like that is not good.  What might be the problem and how can I fix it?Thanks,

Hey All, Just received my new P51 (20HH000GUS) and got issues from the very beginning: while I'm using laptop as usual (i.e. surfing Internet\playing games\working at Lightroom) keyboard and wifi module turn off randomly and without any obvious reason. 1) It can happen just after login or after 5 mins or after 1 hour, on battery or on AC. Didn't notice any pattern after 3 days of using.2) Wifi module just turns off and exactly the same time keyboard back light blinks and keyboard also turns off. I can't enable wifi back and keyboard doesn't react at all. Meanwhile I can use trackpad, external USB devices and everything else continue to work fine.3) System reboot helps, but the issue reproduces next time.4) I've updated everything: BIOS (N1UET42W 1.16), Intel ME (11.8), Windows 10 (1709), all drivers. Didn't help. Posted service request to Lenovo (SR# 8010438665), but nobody replied to me in 3 days. So looking for advise from Community. Thanks,Oleg.

A:BSOD randomly, and the computer wont turn on

The installation is non-genuine.
The Key is that of a Sony OEM computer - and the motherboard is a retail one by PCCHIPS P17G.
This implies that an Activation Exploit is in use to bypass activation and validation requirements.

You need to reformat and reinstall with genuine media and Key.

I have a bit of a strange issue with my computer. Forgive me if I'm a little too descriptive, but I'm not sure which details are relevant and which are not for such a problem. First, the specs:

Model: eMachines T2984
Operating System: Windows XP Service Pack 2
Processor: Intel Celeron D Processor 340, 2.93 GHZ, 256K L2 Cache, 533 MHZ FSB
Power Supply Unit: Bestec Model: ATX-250-12E REV: P7
Motherboard: I can't tell, but it appears to be an Intel motherboard by the number of Intel labels on it
RAM: 512 MB DDR SD originally, added 1 GB a couple of months ago
Let me know if you need anything else...

Yesterday, I got home from shopping around 1PM, and I tried to start the computer. I pushed the power button, and nothing happened. I checked all of the cords, and they were all plugged in. Not knowing what else to do, I opened up the case to see if there was something obviously wrong. The only thing that I noticed (other than a bunch of dust) was that the power supply unit was still hot. I shut the computer down about 5 hours earlier after about 20 minutes of use, so it seemed strange that the power supply was still hot. I unplugged the computer just in case there was some sort of fire hazard.

At this point, I called a friend who suggested that the problem might be with the motherboard or the power supply unit.

A few hours later, I plugged it back in to try to get it to work. As soon as I plugged it in, the entire unit suddenly started "running" by itsel... Read more

I would suspect that the Power Supply Unit (PSU) is going south. If you have a spare one laying around, install it and see if the problem goes away.
You can buy a new, better PSU from Newegg for about $40.00. I have used a Thermaltake 430 watt in one of my machines for some time now and it works well.
You will have to check the size of your PSU to be sure a new one will fit into the eMachine.
Here's the page with that PSU on it. It's the last one on the list.

Ad-Hoc requires that you restart the session each time.

Connectify pro has an auto start option that does this but it's a paid version, connectify lite is free but I'm not sure if has auto start.

I've been having problems for a while now. It's 2 actually.

First problem is that sometimes when I'm just doing stuff on my computer (browsing, watching videos) the screen just freezes or sometimes goes all black and it sounds like the computers restarting. However, the screen just stays black so I hold the power button to turn it off. When I try to turn it on again the screen still just stays black. I have to wait about 6 minutes or so then try turning on again and it will boot properly.

Second problem is that whenever I do Shut Down properly, after "Saving your settings, Computer is shutting down" or something I get a Blue Screen saying some STOP error and it says that the Windows Logon process has terminate unexpectedly or something similar. So once again I must hold the power button to turn off the computer.

Also, I think my hard drive may be failing. It's partitioned into C and D. C has got all my Windows files on it while D is just for storage. sometimes when I download things it won't save because of a bad sector or something. Does this have anything to do with my computer acting up?

I've attached my HijackThis log. please help. I have no idea what's happening.

So this doesn't happen all the time, but every now and then my PC will suddenly lose power. It doesn't go through the shut down process, it just dies. Then after about 5 seconds it starts to restart. It either restarts successfully and loads back into windows, or it does this thing where it starts up for one second, then powers off, waits a second, then starts up and powers off again. It never powers on after that.

I've found out that opening up the case, pulling out the power cable connected to the motherboard and plugging it back in fixes it. Once I do that it starts up next time I try to turn it on.

My computer suddenly shut off completely about 2 weeks ago. Then I couldn't turn it back on. In frustration, I repeatedly pressed the power on button and lo and behold, about 30 seconds worth of pushing the button convinced it to come back to life.

Then oddly enough, ever since then, the computer has been shutting off completely at random intervals and after about 30 seconds of pushing the on button, it powers up. Sometimes for 30 seconds, sometimes for up to a day. Very, very odd.

Then lately, it has been giving a disk check before entering windows. No bad sectors at all so can't figure what's going on.

Any hints?

I've checked all power connections, sniffed around for any power problems but can't figure out anything. It worked fine for about 6 months but suddenly this odd problem.

A:Computer shuts down randomly and takes about 30 secs to turn on

Sounds as though your harddrive may be about to fail

You may want to make all backups of data before it does

This problem is either
HardDrive (likely)
Powersupply
Heat (are all the internal fans operation ? )
You may also need to clear out all internal dust inside the computer

So ive had a Lenovo notebook G50-45 for about 2 years now. Over those 2 years, ive had little to no problems with it. 2 days ago at about 3 in the morning, while I was sleeping, the CPU fan starting blowing like a jet engine. I woke up from the noise and heard that it was coming from the computer. I lift the lid of the laptop, but the screen doesn't turn on. No amount of pressing the power button, moving the mouse, or pressing keys would turn the display on. So, i hold the power button to restart, and it restarts. When i logged in, everything seemed ok. No blasting CPU fan, display was on, and the computer was at normal speeds. I even ran a couple of virus scans. Nothing detected. This exact thing happens on the next night. That's when i came here. Any ideas on what the issue is an how i should fix it? Thank you!

Display turns off after about fifteen minutes regardless of whether I am actively using the computer or not. The only way to turn the display back on is to close and then open the lid. This disconnets me from AOL, so I have to sign back on again, and if I was emailing, I might lose my current email.

Under Power Options, I have 'Turn off the display' set to Never for both On Battery and Plugged in. Under 'Put the computer to sleep' I have both On battery and Plugged in set to never. Nonetheless, the display still shuts off while I am working.

What do I need to do to prevent the display from turning off at odd intervals?

Hello Folks,

I'm not sure if my issue is with hardware (possibly MB?) or graphics card, so please forgive me if I've posted in the wrong section. The first problem I was having was random blue screens of death that displayed graphic card driver issues. I was able to remedy that by updating my graphic drivers and have not had an issue since.

However, ever since then I have been running into another hardware or graphics-related issue that is random and completely stumping me. What is happening is, I will be on my computer, leave and turn my monitor off, and (randomly) when I come back to use my computer again, when I turn on the monitor there is no signal and a black screen (e.g. when I turn my monitor on my desktop will pop up and the light on my monitor will turn blue, when it doesn't turn on there will be a black screen and the light on the monitor stays yellow as if it is idle). I have tried swapping out the monitor to see if that was the issue and the same problem persists, so it does not appear to be my monitor or VGA cables.

The only way I can temporarily fix this issue is to reboot/restart my computer and viola! The monitor works again and I can see everything. This issue is very random. Sometimes I can go weeks without an incident, other times this is happening a couple times a week. I honestly don't know if it's my motherboard or video card or what. My PC isn't overheating, I'm not overclocking, and all of my drivers are updated.

So I have already tried the solutions such as boot up the pc and press shift and such to get a menu and then download somthing on a usb and get into an administrator account. The Administration account I can at least log onto as it's not password protected but I still can't turn on Wi-Fi which basically defeats my whole purpose of using the computer as I use it for gaming. So regarding me not being able to log into my actual account, I've tried resetting my password multiple times without success. I think it's due to the fact that I am not able to connect to any Wi-Fi spots (which I assume is because of safe mode which I can't turn off for some reason) And that brings me to my next point, of I can't connect to Wi-Fi die to safe mode. I have tried to turn off safe mode in the settings but when I press the button for it to turn off it slides back over to the on side. Please let me know if you have any other solutions that I have not tried yet, Thanks !

Wife updated Norton twice and had two Norton Firewalls and Windows Firewalls running together. Paid twice for the 2 updates. Removed Norton Completely and then re-installed Norton 360 Security Version 5, but am still unable to turn off Windows Firewall under Windows XP Pro and also cannot turn on Automatic updates, getting message "we're Sorry, the Security Center could NOT change your Automatic Windows Update setting. To try changing these settings, go to SYSTEM in Control Panel. On the Automatic Updates Tab, select AUTOMATIC (recommended) and then click OK. None of this works, then tried using an app to reset Security Settings and that didn't work either. Any suggestions on what I try next. I would like to reinstall Norton 360 Internet Security Version 5, I know there are those out there that hate Norton and the overhead that comes with it, but over the years I've gotten used to it and I like it very much. Thank you, PhotoRay

A:In XP Pro can't turn off Windows Firewall or Turn on Automatic Updates

How did you remove Norton in the first place?

Hi!
I have this issue that when I turn on my computer, the power LED does not turn on but you can hear the fans working properly. I don't the issue and I'm not much of an expert with computers. Please help me solve this issue because I'm completely clueless.

A:Try to turn on my computer but only the fans work and the power led does not turn on

How old is the computer, what was the last change you made to the computer and when you last shut it down did it shut down correctly?

This is driving me crazy. My HP has Windows 7 and everytime it connects to the internet (wireless connection) Windows Live Messenger opens down in the left hand corner taskbar near the start menu. I close it, and fifteen minutes later it will open again.
I opened the options and unchecked the boxes pretaining to 'Run Windows Live Messenger when windows starts' but it still repeatedly opens. I use hotmail, but i really have no use for Messenger. The program is not listed under add/remove programs. Someone please help me turn this thing off.

A:Solved: Windows Live Messenger-TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF!

It should be listed in Programs & Features under Windows Live Messenger or Windows Live Essentials. If you still can't find it listed then go to get.live.com and re-download the installer, reinstall it, then uninstall it.

I can't turn my computer on. The fans and lights turn on for a second and then turn off. a few seconds later they'll turn back on and then turn back off. I've had this computer for 4+ months now, i built it myself. it recently started doing this but i'd just turn off the PSU (Power Supply Unit) and turn it back on and it woould fix it. now it doesnt fix it anymore. i've re-slotted the RAM (Random Access Memory) and pushed it in firmly, but that hasn't done anything. i've tried different power outlets and pushed everything into the MOBO (Motherboard), i havent messed around with CPU (Processor) because that's just a pain in the a**... i was wondering if there was anything else i could do before having to take it into a local repair shop, lol.

as for my computer specs

CPU (Processor): Fx-6300 AMD
GPU: R9-270x AMD
RAM (Random Access Memory): 8GB Ballistix sport
MOBO (Motherboard): ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0
PSU (Power Supply Unit): Corsair X500 w 80+
Case: Rosewill GALAXY

thanks

A:Fans turn on, lights blink and then turn off/on repeatedly.

First, I would unplug everything that isn't necessary. Everything external except for the keyboard and monitor. Internally, just leave the CPU, RAM and video card installed. See if it turns on. If not, you might try and test the power button. Disconnect the power button from the mobo. If the pin headers allow for it, use the reset button as the power button. If not, you can use a flat head screwdriver to power on the computer (cross the two pins for the power button with the blade of the screwdriver). If you do this, just be very careful. Touch only the power button pins and nothing else! You could easily damage components by touching the screwdriver to the wrong thing.

Some motherboards have a power button right on the board that you can press to power on the computer. I looked at a pic of your board and didn't notice one.

If that doesn't do it, plug the power button back in. You might try and play around with the RAM. I don't know if you have 2 or 4 sticks of RAM, but try and boot the computer with only one stick of RAM at a time. If there's a bad stick, you'll find it through this process of elimination.

If none of the above works, then it might be a bad PSU.

My brand new PC, maybe around 2 weeks old. PC just shuts off randomly like 1 week after. This has happened twice since I've bought it. First time it turn off the monitor and mouse and keyboard none were working at all (the keyboard lights were off), but the pc was still running. The fan turned super loud and I tried pressing the power button in and it wouldn't shut off. So I left it alone for a couple mins and still no change, had to take out the plug. Second time was a couple minutes ago, same thing, monitor off, keyboard off, mouse off, pc still on. But this time no loud fan noise, just the regular amount it makes. I would really enjoy some feedback on this... Could it be a dust issue? I mean its brand new so It shouldn't be a problem.. I think. Oh and both of the times I was playing a game, first League of Legends, second time Smite.

Operating System: Windows 8.1 64 bit
System Model: M11BB
Processor: AMD A10-6700 APU with Radeon Hd graphics (4 CPUs) ~3.7 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
Monitor: Dell E207WFP
Chip Type: AMD Radeon HD 8670D

Any help is appreciated.

It turns on but the screen doesnt. The backlight is not broken because when it does turn on (randomly) everything works. Pushing down on the screen works but only as long as I'm holding it really. So I've come to the conclusion that the lcd cable has loosened somehow or there is a problem with the program that starts the computer. I've only had the laptop for about 4 months and the problems started about 1 month after buying it.
And when it does turn on it randomly freezes I have no clue why I'm no computer expert and I've only built a single computer.

I have already ran defrag and c disk cleanup, ran Norton and turned off unnecessary programs. The vents are not obstructed and I've already done what I think is a hard reset. Removing the battery, holding the power button for 45 seconds and then putting everything back together.

I'm about to throw the thing out the window and I cannot afford any parts to replace or take it to any computer repair shop. I only make about 150 a week.

On 11/3/11, I started to have the following problems:

1) music and audio ads would start playing on my computer...they appear to not be connected to any specific user action. I could only turn it off by (a) turning the computer off or (b) going to the task manager and shutting down the process iexplorer.exe*32 (note that when you went into task manager/applications, internet explorer would not be shown as being on)

2) when I clicked on a web link it would not take me to the right location but would take me to a random location.

3) warning messages come on, but they appear to be false. For example. I get a message "Internet Explorer has stopped working", but if I just close out the warning box, everything is working, the messages appears to be fake.

In August I signed up for a On-line tech support system "Qresolve". I called them with the above problems and they took over my computer remotely and ran three different programs to find and delete viruses. I am not sure what else that they did, but they spent over four hours working on the problem. In the end they stated that my system has no viruses, they deleted the adware on the system, and all was well. Within a half an hour of getting of the phone with Qresolve, the music started playing and a bogus error message started.

WHAT DO I DO? Can someone help me better than my on-line tech support? (just as I finished typing this the music started up like my computer is possessed!) Please help.

Immediately, I use Thinkpad Yoga 260 and now have a problem when it is turned off, then the next day my laptop turns on it doesn't want to turn on again. I pressed the power button, it just turned on the keyboard light for a while then died without having time to enter bios especially into Windows (the screen didn't have time to turn on). All indicator lights are on. Some of what I did;1. Press the reset button. This once managed to make my laptop turn on again, but then it had no effect.2. Also i update all software and Bios, but still forced same problem, then,3. I disassemble the laptop, pull out some connectors such as batteries, keyboards, and more. Some of these steps succeeded, until finally the problem arose and I went to the laptop service in my city.4. There was a slight problem with the supply of electric current on the motherboard and it was successfully fixed and my laptop turned on again. However, after one day the problem reappeared after the laptop was turned off. Luckily, my service place provides a one-month guarantee. But, I have returned to the service area with the same problem (more than 5 times). According to them, my motherboard has no problems, as well as other hardware. I still don't get the cause with this problem often arises. Sometimes a laptop can turn on only by pressing the reset button or opening the battery connector or plugging in the power cord and then I wait a while while the laptop is charging, and ... my laptop is back on... If I unset "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" on the Power Management tab of my USB Root Hub properties, then when I attempt to restart my computer from the Start Menu, Windows shuts down but the computer itself keeps running,
i.e. the power light stays lit and the fan continues to run. In order to actually shutdown, I have to press the power button for a few seconds. Upon reboot, there is no indication of a failed shutdown from Windows. However, I am able to shutdown from the Start
Menu without problem.
Is this really the intent of not allowing the computer to turn off a device connected to a USB port, i.e. you can shutdown but you can't restart? Seems a bit arbitrary to me.

Good day!

My cousin asked me to troubleshoot the problem of his desktop. He was telling me that it is not turning on. I was caught by surprise when i turned on the PC when suddenly I heard some kind of explosion. It sounds like a blown capacitor or something to that effect. I immediately unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. I checked all the capacitors and looking for any damage and fortunately it's all ok. I smell the PSU to check if there's any short circuit occured and there was no foul odor or something. I removed the PSU from the casing for and opened it for inspection. I found out that the fuse exploded and broke into 2 pieces. I don't bother to repair it but instead I bought a new 700 watts PSU.

After replacing the PSU I turned on the PC but i found out that the CPU fan will spin for half a second and turn off. Led green light is on but no post or beep sound. I did some troubleshooting and these are as follows:

1. I removed the motherboard from the casing and put it on top of the table with cardboard underneath.
2. Clean the RAM stick and tried on other slot.
3. Clean CPU heatsink and fan since it was clogged by dirt and replace thermal paste.
4. Replaced the CMOS battery and move jumper pin 1-2 to 2-3 for about 2 minutes.
5. I turn on the PC without the video card, hardisk and keyboard.

SPECS:
Motherboard: asus h81m-c
CPU: Intel core I7
RAM: 8gb

Btw, prior to the above steps, right after replacing PSU I just clean the RAM and turn it on but ... Read more

A:turn off mcafee and turn on defender in windows 10

Open the start menu. Select  "Control Panel". Select "Programs and Features". Find and select the McAfee program in the list then click "uninstall" at the top of the list. When it has finished uninstalling Windows Defender will activate itself.Go back to Control Panel again and select  "Security and Maintenance" . In the security drop down list it should say Windows Defender is turned on.

I am using a client computer that is connected to a modem via a LAN cable which is in a neighboring house as far as about 50 meters. The host computer is there. The host computer is only using Internet Connection Sharing (without a router) to share its Internet connection with me. Within this network there are only two computers, the one I use (as client) in my house and the other one is the host computer as I mentioned earlier.

How do I know that the host computer is being turned on or off?

The purpose is to know so that I can use all the bandwidth from the modem when the host computer is not turn on. Because there are no restrictions on bandwidth from the host computer, and I just wanted to use all the available bandwidth only when the host computer is not turned on.

Both computers use Windows 7.

Hey all I'm new to this forum but I've built a few computers in the past but have never experienced any problems like this.

Case: Powerspec Cooler master case
Processor: Intel i5 750(quad core)
Motherboard: Gigabyte H55M-UD2H
Powersupply:OCZ 500 watt Mod X Stream-Pro

Here are some pictures of my build and a video of what is going on.

Video: youtube.com/watch?v=UbuFZJQnlds

As you can see the PSU, CPU, and Case fans are turning on and the Motherboard LED lights are blinking and then they quickly turn off. I dont think its a problem with the Power Supply because I have already returned one with the same issue thinking it was defective.

wont let me post pictures =/

Any help is appreciated, thanks for your time!
