I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

As grandparents, we are new to digital photography. We got a new digital camera that uses a secure digital card. There were 204 pictures on the card. I put it in my media reader and downloaded the photos on to my computer Windows XP. I thought I took the card out of the reader but am not positive about that. Any way, I started looking at the pictures and deleting the ones that were out of focus etc. When my husband put the card back in the camera and started looking for certain pictures, they were gone. But there was a black space where the picture used to be. If I delete the picture using the camera, it just disappears as if it was never there and does not leave a space. So, I am in trouble because I deleted his pictures off his SD card.. I don't know how I did that. But the crazy part is that some pictures that I deleted from the computer are still on his card and some pictures that I have on my computer are no longer on his SD card. This is the part that is a real mystery to me to explain how I could have done this. I am in BIG trouble with my husband. Can any one explain the missing photos and what happened ??

I use Microsoft Security and it has not detected any spyware or anything. BUT. In the Task Mngr there are usually 3 IE's open. 1 has about 110K in size, others around 10K.

I'd like to figure out how to put together an image with transparent background. I've been starting with a transparent rectangle, inserting a smaller image, and adding text so that the background shows through it, and save it as one image. (.gif). So far no matter what program I try, the background isn't transparent in the end. I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

I've tried Adobe Elements 2.0, Ulead Photo Impact, MS Publisher, Irfanview, PhotoFiltre, and more. This seems like it should be easy, but I'm stumped!

What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

We recently made a new background for our company.

Sent out the file to be put where the other background files are.
And our Startup script says to run this as the background.

Some of the computers are showing a 1 inch part of that background at the top.
And Black for the rest.
If you right click and refresh the image comes in.

It is a jpg file but the previous one (A windows standard. Mountain and Moon) is a jpg as well.

Any reason why it just locks up loading this background?

Hey there!
I have a problem that I wasn't able to google out so I am posting it here. It concerns yahoo email. I found out that yahoo saves all the pictures you send and receive as attachment in your emails into a separate picture folder. This folder is not visible in the yahoo mail interface on PC but it is viewable when logging in via smarphone (I do not use the yahoo smarphone app, just direct login through web browser - google chrome on iOS 7).

The pictures that are viewable in the "pictures" folder when logging through smarphone web browser cannot be deleted in any obvious way (such as a delete button or something). I figured they should dissapear if I delete the original message BUT that worked only partially. After deleting the said emails, I could no longer see pictures that I received from others, but I can still see pictures that I sent myself (and yes, I made sure to delete all the emails in "sent" folder as well). Please help! It is driving me crazy.

It is astounding to me that Microsoft would not allow users to delete a user picture, if the user didn't want one at the logon screen.

What possible reason is there to disallow deleting the picture. I know you can create a blank jpg, use a different picture, but why not just eliminate the user picture. A choice to get rid of that bad decision some of us make in testing and trying things is just too puzzling to let go.

Windows, do us a favor and listen.

If you don't want them anymore try this:

In File Explorer, type the following in the address bar (or just click folders until you get to it):

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures

Replace the "YOUR USER NAME" text with your actual user name.

Easiest way, you can hit winkey+S & type this

Hi nem126,Welcome to BC HijackThis forum. I am farbar. I'm afraid I've got bad news.Your system is infected with one of the nastiest file infectors:Virut is a polymorphic file infector with some additional features. It spreads all around the drive and infects even files infected by another virus previously. The only symptoms are a strange HDD activity while infecting, and also unwanted TCP traffic. Virut tries to connect you into an IRC network under the user name "Virtu" and zombify you. Unfortunately, the cleaning of this virus is very difficult or almost impossible.http://www.ca.com/us/securityadvisor/virus...s.aspx?id=55141The virus remains resident in memory and infects executable files with ".EXE" and ".SCR" file extensions. It's damage to the system is almost beyond repair as it disables Windows File Protection:The virus disables Windows File Protection by injecting code into the "winlogon.exe" process that patches system code in memory.http://www.ca.com/us/securityadvisor/virus...s.aspx?id=55141Therefore all those running processes are most probably now the virus agent. There is a claim by Grisoft that the following tool can remove the infection:http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Win...t-Remover.shtmlThis claim is hard to believe. Not only almost all the running processes are infected but also their copy in i386 folder and in the dll cache are patched. Therefore the only fast and safe answer to the virus is reformatting and re... I share IT responsibilities at my company and one of our (former) sales people added profile pictures to every single one of his contacts (787). To make matters worse, the large majority of them are celebrities & models if he liked the person, or "ugly people" if he did not like them.

We have a new salesperson onboarding and I need to transfer his contacts to her, but before I can do that I must find a way to rid all 787 contacts of their profile pictures.

Is there any way to accomplish this without having to manually remove each photo and resave the contacts? A setting, script, anything?

Hi guys, I am desperate. I installed some nividia software upgrade which was flashing in my icon tray at the bottom right. After a restart my desktop icons disappeared, my start menu empty and a black background.
I have researched on this forum and it looks like ppl have encountered this. However there is a difference because all my documents, pictures, downloads folder etc is all gone. So I have had some software configuration in username/appdata/roaming/... and all that is gone so some of the installed software doesn't run properly anymore.
I was not able to locate the temp file that is supposed to still hold all of this information (through unhide as well as manual search).
I did not delete any temp folders ever since this issue happened.
Both malwarebytes and my microsoft virus killer software didn't find a virus, so I'm not sure how this happened....
Any advise is much appreciated!

Hello, after replacing a broken hard drive and upgrading to Windows 10 I have had 3 BSOD in the past 13 days, 2 of the three times I have been away from my desk when they occurred.

What I Was Doing on Most Recent Crash
- Running Discord (a voice chat application)
- Playing a steam game (TF2, I run a community for this game and was talking to one of my admins while alt-tabbed so it was mainly running in the background)
- Browsing about 5 tabs on FireFox

I also run a few monitoring programs
-HWinfo64 plugged into rainmeter

the other two time I was away from my desk and only came back to the welcome screen. I know I didnt have any updates in line so I checked the minidump folder to see if I had a blue screen and found the DMP file.

The computer underwent a diagnostic when I took the system in to get the hard drive replaced (it was still under manufacturer warranty through powerspec, a micro center brand) and was told the only issue was the hard drive. Although im not sure they truly ran a full diagnostic.

The system is mainly used to run games and chat with friends online. I have rendered a few videos here and there but nothing too taxing on the computer.

If it matters at all when i replaced my HDD I installed an SSD and now keep my OS loaded on that, saving the HDD for bulk storage.

Zip file is attached, any help or insight will be greatly appreciated.

Edit 3 (New BSOD)

while messing around with some settings I believe I forced a crash. this occurred right after I cl... Read more

The frustration has been for more than 2 years now. I tried to move the photo folders & files from "My Pictures" to "Pictures" but Window's geniouses did not give us that option. I do not need to click to "My Pictures" since they are ALL MY pictures. So are we stuck with this decision or is there a way which I can get rid of 1 of the folders? Same with "Documents" & "Videos".

A:Any way to delete either "My Pictures" or "Pictures" folder in Win 7?

Try the reverse. Move the files from Pictures into My pictures, and if you can, then delete the Pictures folder. Then rename the My Pictures folder to Pictures.

Using WindowsXP - trying to delete photos in my pictures. Whenever I hit "delete" for the selected pictures, another copy of those pics is made and placed in the my pictures file. What causes this? How can I prevent this from happening?

A:can not delete pics in "my pictures"

Try this solution below that I found elsewhere ....

...highlighted the file to be deleted.. For example, when you quickly highlight multiple files to delete, if you accidentally "drag" the mouse a little too much, it creates a copy of every file that was previously highlighted and saves it to the same folder.

First, try deleting a single file by RIGHT clicking on the file, choose "Delete".. If no extra copy is made of that file, then nothing is wrong except your technique of highlighting files.

There are other ways to highlight multiple files.. For example, if you got a bunch of files all in order, click on the first file to highlight it, then hold down the "Shift" key, then click once on the last file in the list.. All files in between will be highlighted. You can then click on "File" in the upper left corner, then select "Delete" from the menu items.

Or, if you want to remove a large number of files from a folder, open the folder, click on "Edit" in the upper left, select "Select All".. All of the files will be highlighted in the folder, ready for deletion.. To eliminate those files you still want to keep, hold down the "Ctrl" key, then click once on each file you want to save in the folder.. When you're ready to delete all the files that remain highlighted, click on "File", select "Delete".

Was having problems with virtual memory and computer coming to a complete stop due to downloading a Norton upgrade. My computer tech suggested backing up everything on my computer and reloading Windows XP Home Edition. He backed up what he thought was everything on my computer that was under my user name and reloaded my computer but my pictures in my Kodak pictures file were not under my user name; therefore, all of my pictures are gone. The tech has now transferred everything on my computer over to his computer and is now trying to find the pictures. Anyone have any suggestions on how to retrieve the pictures? Has anyone ever had to send the computer to a lab to get info retrieved and how much does it cost? Thanks for your help!

I formatted my drive after I saved my favorites and my pictures to CD. Formatting cleared up the problem of two dial up connections. I tried everything on that. The duplicate connection is no more. Finally! Anyway, back to why I am posting again. I want to put the pictures that I saved from the My Pictures folder back to the My Pictures folder. I have set one of them as the new desktop background. (It was before the format). I have looked in Help and Support, but I can't seem to find anything. I have typed in "Export Pictures from CD to My Pictures folder" without the quotes and I get a list of links pertaining to CD recording errors and other things like that. I did right click on a picture in Drive E (my CD-RW) just to see what would come up and I noticed that on the Send To menu that these pictures can be sent to the desktop. Is this what I should do then? Send them to the desktop and open them and send them from here to the My Pictures folder? It can't be that easy, can it? Let me hear from anybody.

A:Solved: How Do I Put Saved Pictures Back in My Pictures Folder?

Is there any way to delete these system folders.

I don't use them, and I never will. If I delete them though, they are simply re-created.

A:Delete "Camera Roll" & "Saved Pictures" - Win 10

Why do you feel the need to delete them? Just ignore them as deleting system folders can be problematic although it seems win 10 has a way of defeating the deleters!

What the title should say is ..."Windows 7 (new for me) is not saving pictures from camera TO my pictures file." Thank you for any and all advice.  I went to upload photos from my website but could not find them! What I have done so far: 1. Set autoplay to default 2. Unplugged all ports and replugged 3. Typed jpg in search and found them but they are not accessible when I try to upload them to my website. 4. Looked in temp files (not there) 5. Tried another "test" photo and tried one more time to upload it from snapfish and photobucket and still can't find them. Can I tell windows where to save my photos? Could this be from a corrupt file? I don't know what else to try.

A:Windows 7 (new for me) is not saving pictures from camera to my pictures.

They on all of my machines end up in the picture folder unless I click on save as and select another location.

How can I remove all references to subdirectory MyPictures on my C:\ drive?

Last year I did a clean install of Windows 7 Enterprise. I then copied my data files to the C:\ Drive. These directories and files were created with XP Professional so my photo files were under My Pictures\2010.

In the Library view I have Pictures\My Pictures\2010

In the Computer view I see C:\Users\Russell\My Pictures\2010
I used SyncBack SE to backup my files to the F:\drive.

SB SE converts references to subdirectory My Picture to Pictures. Some how I now have some files backed up on two directories:

F:\Users\Russell\My Pictures.

1. Open up Windows Explorer
2. Click on the down arrow next to Organize, which is located under the Back and Forward navigation buttons.
3. Select Folder and search options
4. Under the View tab, uncheck the first option "Always show icons, never thumbnails"

Hope this helps.

Please can someone help me. I have purchased an Internet offer for a collage which requires me to upload my pictures which I have selected and have in a folder in the Windows 10 picture app on my PC. However, when I go to the sellers site to proceed with the sale I press the upload picture button and I am taken to 'my pictures' on my computer which does not have the folder in it. Please can anyone help me as there was no other option for uploading other than from 'my pictures'. I am not at all technical and the offer has time constraints....any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:How can I get the pictures on the windows10 tile app into 'my pictures

If you open the Photos App and then click on one of the pictures you want to upload you can then right click on the picture and select open folder. This will take you to the folder where it is stored. Hopefully you will see where it is and can find it later for your upload.
