Enable design mode of form

Q: Enable design mode of form

Hey guys,

As the program is now I have the shift key disabled and the access interface hidden and the only way a user can get into the design mode or actual coding is if the user has the password. As of now if the user knows the password i enable the shift key and automatically close the program and ask the user to open it holding the shift key but the problem then is that what if the authorized user forgets to disable the key.

So my question is...Is after i verify that the user has the right password, instead of enabling the shift key is there any other way of opening the program in design mode? that is bringing the Access Db window??

Any help will be great thanks.!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello. I have an Access 2000 problem.

I have successfully imported a database from SideKick into Access and all 750 records appear to have been imported correctly. I have set up a form using the wizard and it works fine as well. Now I would like to refine it by making one of the fields a combo box with a list of defined values to choose from. So...I created a separate table with the values I wanted, matching the values that already exist in the main table for that field. However, now when I open the form, every record gives me a prompt that 'the value you entered isn't valid for this field' even though the word that appears is one of the choices listed. Clearly I have done something wrong but I can't get my mind around what it is.

Any help would be appreciated.

The field in the main table is called Category and there are three categories to choose from: Classical, Popular or Contemporary.

Each existing record has one of those choices already.

I want to do this so that when future records are added, the choice is limited to the options in the new table.

Thanks for your help.

On Outlook "Design a Form" I created a Task form. The design utility has a ready made (from the Toolbox) check boxes to drag on to the task being created.

I inserted several check boxes and dialog boxes. None of the functions work when you publish the form. It's pretty cut and clear how to create and publish the form.

Are there programing on my behalf left out?

You normally have to create forms for both the Compose Page as well as the Read Page in order for published forms to work. Yo also nee to define what this check box will represent. Is this an email form or some other type of form?

I have a paper form with approximately 130 fields that we have been filling in with pen on paper for years. We need someone to take this form and design another exactly like it (so much like it that a printed PDF of it looks exactly like the original off-set-printed form) so that there is no difference between the appearance the form coming from the offset printer and the one printed from PDF on a laser printer.

This form is 8.5 x 11 inches and printed to within a quarter-inch of the page edges. I need to be able to open the form in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, fill it in and print (or fax) it and have it appear as though someone placed an offset-printed form in a typewriter and filled it in with perfect accuracy in the various fields.

If someone here is interested, I can send you a one-meg PDF to look at and give us a quote.

I would like to delete a couple Tabs. For instance, p.3 and p4.

I'm almost complete with this project. It's just these 2 annowying pages I need to delete.

I was able to easily do this using Outlook 2003, but I cannot figure it out in 2007.

When creating a new contact, I used to be able to adjust a Blank Contact the way I wanted it... Phone numbers in this order:

Mobile
Home
Business
Business fax

And have the Address defaulted towards Home, and automatically check the box This is the mailing address

I would pre-populate all those fields, and then use the Publish as form. In 2007, they took away the Publish As form from adding a New contact, and I just don't know how to change things using the Design Form mode that we must use in 2007 now.

I'm in the process of creating a db and appear to have thought I knew more than I really do. The db currently has one table:

Table1.DptKey
Table1.DptCode
Table1.Employee
Table1.Title
Table1.Location

I need a second table (yet to be correctly designed!) which will contain equipment info:

Table2.InvKey
Table2.????? - this should match Table1.DptKey
Table2.Make
Table2.Model
Table2.SerioalNo
Table2.Tracking
Table2.MACAdd
Table2.Notes

How I foresaw this working for me was to have a form where the enduser could enter in the equipment information, the employee info is already entered. I tried getting fancy and creating a query to allow for a drop down box that only showed all employees in Table1 that were NOT already in Table2. Within this form the I want(ed) to show the employee name and location, which are informational and not part of Table2, as this will be more intuitive to the end user than the Table1/Table2.DptKey.

I've tried to get this working a few different ways and can't seem to get it to function correctly. I don't know if it's because want I want to do can't be done or if it can and I'm doing some piece of it incorrectly? And I've now tried so many different things I don't know what I'm doing anymore.

My SQL is stronger than my VBA and I've been trying to solve this via queries/forms/web resources/chicken bones etc.

A:MS Access03 design/form/query question

I didn't read your entire post yet (welcome to the site ), but I wanted to mention that the foreign key in your second table should have the same name as the primary key in the first table. In other words,

Table2.?????
Should be

Table2.DptKey
You'd then join the two tables in a 1-to-many relationship on that field by opening the Relationships window for the database, displaying both tables, dragging the foreign key from the second table onto the primary key of the first, and clicking Enforce Referential Integrity in the Edit Relationships window.

I'm going to say, never put spaces in any object names (not that you have). You should adopt a naming convention. Here's a pretty common convention.

The Microsoft Exchange Form Design Wizard enables you to quickly create customized HTML forms based on the built-in forms included with Microsoft Outlook Web Access. You can change the form layout and formatting using an HTML editor such as Microsoft FrontPage. You can add scripting enhancements to the forms using a script editor such as Microsoft Visual InterDev.

Hello,
thanks for taking a look at this thread, any help will be greatly appreciated by a complete Noob.

I've been given a LOT of help by members of this Forum (especially OBP) with a DB I'm making as a first look at any type of IT product, and I'm very grateful, so thank you all.

Recently, I was advised to take a look at the "Tabbed" style of "MainForm" instead of the "Switchboard" style I originally used. I must say, I really like the tabbed style much more than the switchboard but I've hit one hurdle that I can't seem to overcome.

In the Switchboard style, I was able to set a form to load in either DATA ENTRY = YES or DATA ENTRY = NO mode depending on which sub-switchboard the user selected. For example, I had a ENTER NEW sub-switchboard that all forms would open in DATA ENTRY = YES mode & I had another EDIT EXISTING sub-switchboard that all forms would open in DATA ENTRY = NO mode.

However, with the new tabbed style, I cannot set the form load type for separate tabbs, it will only accept the LAST type as the GLOBAL type. Example, on the ENTER NEW tab, I set the form to load as DATA ENTRY = YES & sets the form to open in DATA ENTRY = YES on both tabs, then I go to the EDIT EXISTING tab & set the same form to DATA ENTRY = NO & it sets the form to open in both tabs in DATA ENTRY = NO mode.

So, my question is:
Can I set the same form to load differently on different tabs on the same MainForm?
If so, w... Read more

A:Solved: MS Access - Tabbed MainForm - How to make a form open a form in multiple mode

I would just copy the Subform, so you have version 1 for data entry with the Data Entry set to "Yes" and version 2 set to "No".
The only thing you need to do then is to Requery the Editing form each time you make an entry in the data entry form.
Although I prefer to just have an Edit form with a "New Record" button for the data entry.

I have a form that on the click of a button opens a report and keep doing some background work.

When the report previews, the form seems to go automatically on design view, so the operations to be performed on the background stop, and a message appears, indicating that nothing can be done, because the form is on design view.

If I send the report straight to the printer (normal view) then all works fine, but if there is an error on the report, there is no way to catch it until after it prints.

Is there a way to keep the report on preview and the form on form view, so everything wil work smooth as it should?

I have been banging my brain out all week on this. I guess I havenít had any access databases with this type of relationships before. Most of mine have just been two linked tables. I am using Access 2007 but I converted this database to 2003 since I read somewhere on the site it was best to send in that format.
What I am trying to accomplish is setting up a database for a transportation voucher program, so we can eliminate the Excel spreadsheet the user is using.
So I need three basic tables: client info, orders, vouchers. They are called TBNFCLI, TBNFORD, TBNFVOUCH.
Each client can have multiple orders, and each order can have multiple vouchers. So I assume there is a one to many relationship between TBNFCLI and TBNFORD (TBNFORD being the many side)
And a one to many relationship between TBNFORD and TBNFVOUCH (TBNFVOUCH being the many side)
Originally I tried using junction tables but was advised I didnít need to because the relationship between orders and voucher is really one to many, since there can be only one order date per client.
Here is the design now:
Client table TBNFCLI:
CLIID autonumber for the primary key.
Lastname
Firstname
M
Address1
Address2
City
Etc
Order details table TBNFORD:
ORDID Autonumber as primary key
Order date
CLIID Ė to link to client table , number field
Number vouchers requested
Payment Amount, etc
Voucher table TBNFVOUCH
VOUCHID autonumber as primary key
Voucher #

I must have a mental block. Have an Access 2000 application that I wrote for a non-profit organization 2-3 years ago, and have been modifying it from time to time as they wanted changes. There was never a concern about anybody attempting to change the design of any objects, so I just left the system with the normal menu- and toolbars... which, of course, gives users who know Access the ability to change designs.

There is now a desire to protect the design against inadvertent changes. The best way would be to somehow "lock" the designs with a password. I don't want to just password protect the database, because that doesn't protect the designs of the tables, forms, etc. once the user gets in. I can find nothing in Access Help about protecting individual objects within the database. Is there, and how would one do it?

If that's not possible, I thought about installing custom tool- and menu bars wherein the Design icon and "View" menu choice are removed. I realize that a savvy user could always customize those and put them back, but the users are for the most part not very Access-savvy. I have two questions here: (1) Is there a way to password protect tool- and menu bars so they can't be modified without the password? And (2) if I remove the ability to get to Design mode from the tool- and menu bars, how am I supposed to get to it when I need to make changes? Do I have to include in my customized bars one that has the ability to get to De... Read more

Hi,

[I have searched several combinations of these keywords, but always get over 200 results, so I apologize if this question has been answered previously and I just missed it in scanning thread titles...]

I decided to try something new in Word - add in checkboxes to a survey. To do this I tried using the Forms toolbar, but while that shows a checkbox option, it instead inserts a box that displays an "x" when activated. So I used the Control Toolbox version of the checkbox instead (sample attached).

The problem is that I can't get the document to be easily usable by others. Even if I disable Design Mode and save, the document always re-opens with Design Mode active, so users can't fill out the form as intended. If I go back to the Forms toolbar and Protect the document, everything is disabled and the checkboxes don't work at all (and nothing can be typed at all, and I can't unprotect the document again). The only way I can use the checkboxes as intended is to disable Design Mode on the Control Toolbox toolbar.

Which is fine, but that toolbar still pops up as a floating toolbar whenever anyone opens the document, and it opens with Design Mode active again.

Hello

For work, I've been trying to make a pro forma document and have activated the developer tab.  I've learnt how to insert drop down lists, date pickers and plain text.

What I now want to do is the following:  In a sentence I want to use the plain text content control to enter a reference number in the middle of a sentence.  So far so good I can do that.  But I want that reference number to appear in several different other places in the word document.  Is there a way I can link these places and only enter it once yet it appears in all the places?

Hope that makes sense.

Looks like you're gonna stay a virgin, cause that ain't no high-end video card you got there.

Now on to the real topic. I'm not quite sure what you are saying as regards enabling VGA mode. All you need to do is make sure you disable any onboard vga chip in the bios (because you are using an add-on video card), and that's it. Your PC should boot and video should eminate from your card. Pressing F8 during boot simply allows you to select 'safe mode', which is normally used when you are experiencing problems such as misbehaving drivers. You shouldn't need to do this at all normally.

Hi there,it seems i need some support to enable the hibernation mode on my desktop. I did everything as described in this http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-550-100-Desktop-PC-series/8499648/model/9728895/docu... tutorial but it won't work.I can klick the 'Start --> On/Off --> Hibernate' button or push the sleep button on my keyboard which i've configured to hibernate but the PC performs a shutdown. Normally my PC should come up again using my mouse or the keyboard but nothing happen. Only the power button works but the system comes up like after a shutdown, all open applications are closed. I've also refreshed my BIOS but no change after this. What's the trick? Rgs. Walther

A:Can't enable hibernate mode

Hey there!                      Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!I understand that you have issues putting your PC in hibernation mode. Difference between sleep mode and hibernation: Sleep ModeSleep mode is a power saving state that is similar to pausing a DVD movie. All actions on the computer are stopped, any open documents and applications are put in memory while the computer goes into a low-power state. The computer technically stays on, but only uses a bit of power. You can quickly resume normal, full-power operation within a few seconds. Sleep mode is basically the same thing as ?Standby? mode.Sleep mode is useful if you want to stop working for a short period of time. The computer doesn?t use much power in Sleep mode, but it does use some.HibernateHibernate mode is very similar to sleep, but instead of saving your open documents and running applications to your RAM, it saves them to your hard disk. This allows your computer to turn off entirely, which means once your computer is in Hibernate mode, it uses zero power. Once the computer is powered back on, it will resume everything where you left off. It just takes a bit longer to resume than sleep mode does (though with an SSD, the difference isn?t as noticeable as it is with traditional hard drives).Use this mode if you won?t be using your lapt... Hello.
Why the setting in Edge to turn on IE mode is dimmed?
Edge> Setting> Default browser > Internet Explorer compatibility
I can successfully turn on IE mode by updating group policy, but this method is too difficult for my application's user.s
How can I have the setting enabled instead of updating the group policy?
Thank you.

Hi
please somebody help. I have a new website developed and there is a problem at the shopping basket. As soon as I confirm the item in the basket it takes it to zero items. The problem is "overcome" by disenabling "Enable Protected Mode" in the security settings of the IE Browser 8. Is this just my machine or are all recent browsers with the above options affected? I need to know so a big favour - please someone with IE8 go to the website "Marthascloset.co.uk" and place any item in the basket and try to confirm it. Does it go back to zero price? (don't go any further). Many thanks to anyone who will help - I know it sounds crazy but this is a genuine request - everyone I know seems to be on Win XP and that works fine.
Thanks - Graham

Hi there,
I have recieved several word files that have me stuck in form field view... I have tried toggling (Alt + F9) but still only see the Form field {FORMTEXT} If I print it the correct word/name can be seen, if I forward it to another person they can see it correctly. I have removed and reinstalled Office hoping that the settings would default back ( I am thinking I set something ) This also did not correct the viewing. I've compared my settings under tools/options to another machine who is not having this problem.. they are the same... there must be some (probably simple) thing/setting that I am missing. The IT people here at work are clueless to this as well. Help!

A:Word 2K Stuck in Form Field Mode

Ok found out the answer and thought I would go ahead and post it.
Close all word windows.
Start/Run/browse/C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE
Right click on Winword.exe Select
you should be back in the Run box with the path typed out at the end of winword.exe" type the following /a (That's a space /a) Should look like this "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE" /a
Now run... it resets hidden settings.

I want to open a form strictly in the filter by form mode. It will not be used for any updates - simply for searching resources.

Anyone have any ideas - I have already set the form to not have adds, deletes or edits.

Thanks

I'm new here so just so ya'll know I'm Jason. Anyways, I'm working on trying to create a Hackintosh (yes, it is possible on AMD) but it requires you to change your HD to ACHI mode. I looked in the BIOS and there is no options. Any Ideas?
