Thinkpad X260 broadband antennas and warranty stickers

Q: Thinkpad X260 broadband antennas and warranty stickers

Hello,I have 2 questions regarding my X260 laptop.1. As I don't have broadband module, but already purchased 01AX717, is there a way to determine if I have the broadband antennas preinstalled without opening the laptop?2. Are these warranty stickers put by Lenovo, or the local seller?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

HiLenovo laptops don't have such stickers, they are self-made by someone.Regarding the wwan capabilities presence, the laptop MTM is needed. If it's a CTO model with these symbols in the MTM, send me the laptop serial number via forum private meassages service.

Hi all, I have a ThinkPad X1 Carbon (2nd Gen) Model 20A70037US. The model is listed as WWAN upgradeable on the spec page. It's unclear to me whether I need to order antennas in addition to the WWAN card, however. Is there a way to tell if it already has WWAN antennas? Thanks!

A:Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2nd Gen (20A7) WWAN Antennas?

The safest way is to remove the bottom cover and look.  You would see antenna wires by the WWAN slot.

Having said that, in general, "WWAN upgradeable" means it has antennas

Hi all,I have issues getting mobile (3/4g) broadband to work with my new T470 Thinkpad. In Ubuntu, the Fibocom Adapter is only detected as a generic MBIM adapter, and although Network Manager (and it's applet) display my network provider, the connection is not established, and the system process mbim-proxy is hanging at 100% CPU. This issue has been reported here (but seems to remain unsolved ?) : https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-usb/msg158286.html Did anyone get this to work?Best whishes and thanks for any hints!

A:Thinkpad x260 TS FD meaning

Hello and welcomeI'm not a Lenovo representative, but definitely TS means TopSeller, FD in the short lsptop specification means the type of display - FHD. "Only laptop" might mean accessories (like additional cable) missing. Of course, AC charger should be in the pack.Original laptop specification is below:http://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/ThinkPad_X260?M=20F60093US

I am wanting to buy batteries but strange to find that the compatible original batteries online are 10.8v and the batteries of x260 which died recently are 11.1v.
I am confused, please help.

Get them replaced under warranty. The X270 has been shipping for less than a year, so the batteries are still under warranty.

Hello, all. I am trying to upgrade my Thinkpad X260 to a 16GB stick of ram. The exact item I bought is called "Crucial 16GB Single DDR4 2133 MT/s (PC4-17000) DR x8 SODIMM 260-Pin Memory - CT16G4SFD8213" on Amazon.com . After installing the memory module (correctly, using the video Lenovo provides on youtube), the laptop won't boot. I can't even get into the bios, although the green bower button lights up. I'm very confused as I did a lot of research to make sure this ram is supported by my thinkpad: The Thinkpad platform specifications list the memory as "2133MHz DDR4" with a 16GB maxThe voltage on my ram is 1.2V, the same voltage that the thinkpad x260 supportsIt's also "260-pin memory", the same as the original ram. What could possibly be going on? Why won't my laptop boot with the RAM upgrade?

Hello! I was inquiring into buying a Lenovo X260, and one of the main reasons I was interested was because it has a SIM card slot. I have Project Fi, and was interested in using a data only SIM card for the laptop. Project Fi is compatable with Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular networks, and I wanted to ask if anyone had any experience using the sim card slot with any of these networks or perhaps even a Project Fi sim. I do not want to buy the laptop to find out the sim card does not work. Any advice would be extremely helpful.

Hi All, First of all I have already researched the forums about this issue, but couldn't find a solution that I'd be confident with, hence starting this topic. We have purchased this x260 with Win10/Win7 Pro preload with downgrade rights to Win7 if needed.  I guess only one of the two operating systems would be available, which is in this case Windows 10. Now, from what I have gathered so far, an OEM key (and the install media) should be used for the downgrade. I've also read that enterprise licenses aren't covered in the downgrade rights. I do hope that I've misunderstood something, because 1. we only have enterprise license for win7 pro,1. if we have to have a separate install media and a license key for Win7, than what exactly the point of paying extra for the downgrade rights? If someone could please shed some light on how is this downgrade process is done, I'd be ever so grateful. Many thanks in advance, kind regards, Bruno

Hello, I am trying to disable touchpad on X260. It looks disabled, however one feature keeps enabled. Here is how to reproduce it: 1. Start marking text using TrackPoint and  the left TrackPoint button. Do not release the button.2. While doing this touch the touchpad with two fingers.3. Remove finger from the button.4. Observe the text is still marking with TrackPoint movement. Another way: 1. Click on something which is draggable with the left TrackPoint button. Do not release the button.2. Tap on TouchPad with two fingers.3. Release the button.4. Observe further dragging just with just moving the pointer. It appears that dragging/marking becomes sticky with two-finger tapping though TouchPad is disabled. The desired behaviour is to ignore TouchPad taps (since it's disabled). So, how do I fully disable TouchPad?

Hi all, appologies for the long post. I am using Windows 7 and re-building an image for the Lenovo X260 as a few users have reported an error with Power Point in Office 2010.  When on battery Power Point slide shows won't advance through the slides, it just stops and won't move to next slide on keypress or mouse click, on mains power it works fine, I had a mess around with a users laptop that has the issue and installing Lenovo System Update and installing all the available updates and drivers solved the problem so I re-created the image on another X260 and the problem returned but now, installing Lenovo System update and all software & drivers doesn't fix the issue, this is on a clean install of Windows 7. when the slide show pauses I can press the Windows key and click Power Point and there is a little box that says Resume slide show, clicking this sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, all windows updates are installed, if I use an external keyboard and mouse it works OK, I've tried disabling all power management in BIOS and Windows, the only permanent fix I've found that works everytime is to disable Hardware Acceleration in Office settings but some of the docs users have are massive so don't want to cause any slowdowns or issues (plus it's anoying that I can't find another solution even though it worked on a users laptop) Anyone else seen this issue or have an idea of a fix Cheers

Hello, my friends. I am running the Windows 10 Pro, (version #1607), 64-bit, in Spanish language.  I was having a huge amount of trouble with the factory-installed Bluetooth module (Intel AC8260). I would go through the on-line solutions of removing and reinstalling the Lenovo drivers. Sometimes I had to this this several times in a row, before it would actually work. The Bluetooth would finally connect to my earphones (Bose QC35 or Skullcandy Ink'd) They would work for about 20 minutes, and then Bluetooth would quit, requiring me to go through the process again of removing the Lenovo drivers and reinstalling them. It was driving me nuts, (which I admit, is a very short drive!) I finally uninstalled the Lenovo drivers and then installed the Intel drivers from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/86068/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-8260  Now Bluetooth works just fine on Windows.  I am also using this machine with Linux Mint 18.3. I have only managed to get Bluetooth to connect to my headphones once, though they do appear in the list of Bluetooth devices.          Hope this will help somebody else.

I have a ThinkPad x260 laptop. I ordered the following two cables to connect to my monitors, but they don't fit: 1. Select Series Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to DisplayPort 1.2 Cable, 3ft. Model Number: P586-003-DVI-V2http://www.provantage.com/tripp-lite-p586-003-dvi-v2~7TRPA2L1.htm The Mini DisplayPort connectors are 20-pin, but neither connector will fit on the port of the X260. It seems the right size, but it will not push on. Is the Mini DisplayPort connector on the x260 proprietary? Is it male or female? I would have ordered the cable from Lenovo, but my boss wants a 3-foot black cable, nothing else.

I've recently taken delivery of my a new Thinkpad X260.  Like a good little user, the first thing I did was run the utilty which created a recovery disk on a USB drive, which I've stored away carefully. Now.  When I ordered the X260 from Lenovo, I deliberately specified it to be supplied preinstalled with Windows 7 Professional 64, through the downgrade rights in Windows 10 Pro.   I had first established that if and when I wish to upgrade to Windows 10, that will not be a problem for me.  All good. What I am keen to know is, should I ever need to use the recovery USB drive which I created, will that let me reinstall either Windows 10 or 7, or is there anything else which I should be doing to be sure about this? Thanks

You probably need the USB 3.0 drivers.  They'll have to be integrated into the install media since once the installer has switched to its internal drivers it won't be able to see an external drive for an "F6" driver add.

If your laptop uses an NVMe SSD you'll also need that driver or the installer won't be able to see the install target.  That comes from a MS hotfix.

There's a thread or two here that addresses those issues.  I'll dig around and try to find them.

[edit] Here's one.  (Ignore my incorrect advice early in the thread):

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T/T460-Windows-7-install-error/m-p/3284463

I'm also working on a little tutorial with an X1 Yoga as the example but don't know when that will be done.
