I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, The following link shows its specs http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c01168366 It has 3 USB ports at the back. Yes it can use USB keyboard and mouse. If you use them separetly you need 2 USB ports (which ever way). My suggestion: if you wish to use wired kayborad amd mouse, please buy one set which allows you use one USB port othrwise you need two ports. Regards.

For those of you running Windows 7 either 32-bit or 64-bit on an HP Touchsmart IQ775 with a GeForce Go 7600, please visit tweakforce.com - Downloads for the correct driver update.

I had an issue with an outdated driver. When Windows Update had their most up-to-date drivers installed, it installed an older version instead of the latest one.

This cleared up all of my problems and I'm sure it will help you with yours.

Just as a precaution, I'd check to see if you have this folder before updating though (just incase!)

C:\nVidia Forceware\XTreme-G 175.63 Mobile Vista 32bit
OR (depending on your bit)
C:\nVidia Forceware\XTreme-G 175.63 Mobile Vista 64bit

after installing the update you should then have...
C:\nVidia Forceware\XTreme-G 190.62m Vista Win 7 32bit
OR (depending on your bit)
C:\nVidia Forceware\XTreme-G 190.62m Vista Win 7 64bit

I am looking for more windows 7 32bit drivers for my IQ775 Touchsmart PC. I need webcam and side controls drivers. Can anyone please help?

It says the mouse is working.Deleted that entry and told it to "Scan for hardware." It found the wireless mouse again, but it still doesn't work.Tried "Update drivers" but the drivers were already up-to-dateBooted in Safe Mode. The wireless mouse still doesn't work.Tried the keyboard, mouse and receiver on my husband's HP computer. Back story: my hpe341 desktop (originally with Windows 7, upgraded to Win 10) suffered a HDD crash.   I had two weeks before created a WindowsImage on a USB attached drive.   I restored the Win 7, went through the upgrade process to get it back to Win 10.  The issue: Every attempt (booting to Win 10 and using the Control Panel > Restore or booting from the Windows 10 Repair Disc that I had built results in my being taken to a screen asking ?Choose Your Keyboard Layout? (this on a light blue screen) but keyboard and mouse seem to be not functional.  All I can do is force a power down. I have tried all startups using both USB 2 and USB 3 ports and nothing works. Importantly, the machine worked perfectly under Win 7 and works perfectly now Win 10 in a normal boot process; the issue only arises when I try to reimage with the saved file. The plea: It is frustrating to have the image file saved from two weeks before the crash and now not be able to load it: I suspect there is expertise out there in the Forum that will be able to help me. Thanks in advance (I did searches and wasn?t able to find a post that resolved my query, if I missed one my apologies in advance)

So what's happening is occasionally, while I'm typing, it repeats letters, as if the keyboard temporarily locks up. (Sometimes, but it's rare because I usually type continuously, it just stops me from pressing keys for a bit.) It's like "Hello my naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..."
And what's weird is it only happens after I pressed any of the lock keys before (disabling doesn't fix it.)
I'm using a keyboard connected directly to my PC, with up to date drivers.

Hi,

I'm using a HP TouchSmart 610 and my wireless keyboard (original copy that comes along when I bought the desktop) suddenly stopped working.

I've researched for various solutions online and I found out that I'm suppose to have a wireless receiver. However, I can't seem to find it on my desktop. I'm quite sure I didn't pluck it out or anything of that sort, is it possible that the receiver is in-built?

Anyway I've tried the following:

1. Replacing the batteries
2. Taking the batteries out and putting it back in again
3. Hold the 'connect' button for 5-10 seconds

Those didn't work for me and I'm hoping that I could find a solution here.

Thanks in advance!

p.s hope I'm posting this in the right forum.

how many batteries does the keyboard have 2 or 4
also the spring is that connecting correctly to the battery - so make sure that the batteries are all connected and touching the spring and positive bit of metal

Usually the touchsmart comes with a receiver USB device
have you tried removing that and refitting

do you have a wireless mouse and is that working OK

I think this is a BIOS problem, but without a keyboard I can not get it to boot.
I downloaded a copy of the most current BIOS from the HP website but am not sure how to install it. How can I get into the BIOS to reset this machine?

I've removed the wireless USB dongle. The keyboard works on other computers.  I cannot press any keys during the BIOS boot sequence.  I have a feeling that something is fried on the motherboard.  Any ideas? Thanks.

I've got a regular desktop pc and a laptop. Both are running Windows 7.

If both machines are wired, file and printer sharing works like expected. If the laptop is on the wireless, things go sour...

The machines don't see each other, I can't ping the laptop from the desktop or vice versa. Strangely enough, if I ping the desktop from the laptop by IP address the desktop will reply. At that point the desktop will see the laptop too and sharing (file, printer & media) works fine. But if the connection is idle for a couple of minutes they won't see each other anymore.

I've tried all kinds of things: disabled IPv6 on both, reconfigured file and printer sharing, disabled the firewalls on both. But none of these changes have had any effect whatsoever. I have also tried to give everything the same name (SSID, workgroup and network name on the desktop) but that had no effect either.

More info:
- Wired and wireless clients are on the same subnet.
- The router is a Linksys WRT-350N
- AP isolation is disabled
- uPnP is enabled on the router

Does anyone have any clue how to fix this?

Hi, I'm helping a friend with her computer which stopped going into Windows altogether. I pulled her hard drive and ran a hard drive test on it which it failed with multiple sector failures, no big deal. I was able to backup her stuff, but when I went to put a new hard drive in her computer I ran into a brick wall.  The windows install disk does not detect the new drive connected and neither does the BIOS - I tried another new hard drive, same problem. Her original hard drive will actually show in both the bios and as a viable hard drive for a Windows install, so I know it's not the cable or the board, but I can't figure this out. If I change it to boot IDE instead of ACHI then the BIOS sees the Hard drive, but gives it a weird name (BzBzBzBz...) and the Windows install disk still doesn't see it. Am I missing something? Does this MoBo need a driver to install Windows? I've worked on HPs tons of times, but never had this particular issue so I'm hopng someone has an idea our there on what to do. Rick

I'm not sure if this is the area of the forums to post this but, I have a problem with my laptop keyboard.

Sometimes when I press shift the buttons come out with wired letters.
Such as and E with an accent on it when I press shift and question mark.

Basically any symbols don't work. I try typing the @ sign and the number 3 will appear. I tried everything from function, alt, ctrl, shift and windows key + differnt combinations and nothing seems to work. The only way to make this stop is somehow to wait it out, or restart laptop.

Is there a way to stop this?

Hi:

I have a question. I purchased an Apple wired aluminum keyboard. I really like it except for one thing so far. Normally, on all the other keyboards I have had, I can use the Back Space (Delete) key to delete text backwards and correct mistakes easily while I am typing. This keyboard seem to tell you in the instructions that you can use the deletex for forward delete and the regular delete key for backward deleting. However, the backspace key does not work for this purpose. Am I doing something wrong or has anyone found that they cannot backward delete on this keyboard? I is really annoying to have to stop and more the cursor backwards in order to delete the letters in front. I hope this problem can be solved because I do like the keyboard otherwise. Thanks in advance.

I'm hoping that someone may know if a driver for my new wired apple keyboard exists somewhere. I have searched, but can't find anything. I can use it for typing and the number pad works fine too, but the function keys and some other keys don't work at all. I would like to just remap it, but all the software I have tried is extremely complicated and way beyond my skill level. SharpKeys is very limited, and it works for assigning a single function to a key, but I need it to do more than that. If I remap the keyboard, I would like to be able to assign macros.

For now, I would just like to have a PC driver for this keyboard so that it will work normally (mostly), but I'm also open to trying another mapping program if someone knows of a simple one.

Thank you!!

We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all post back the results in a reply here

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt box (A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen ):

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt

It will export the results to notepad and then automatically open notepad.

Since then, I have run the hardware diagnostic tests and come up with these failure ID's [Type]           [ID]                                                                     [Date U.S. style]System [E]   RG9J3L-6R783X-XD7WXG-60X503    5/6/16Hard Drive    RG9J3L-6R783X-XD7WXG-61XM03   5/6/16Hard Drive    RG9J3L-6R7827-XD7WXG-60T603    3/11/16System [E]   RG9J3L-6R7827-XD7WXG-60T603    3/11/16Hard Drive    RG9J3L-6R780R-XD7WXG-60U303   1/25/16Hard Drive    RG9J3L-6R780R-XD7WXG-61CT03   1/25/16System [E]   RG9J3L-6R780D-XD7WXG-60W203   1/13/16System [E]   RG9J3L-6R780A-XD7WXG-60VJ03    1/10/16Hard Drive    RG9J3L-6R7804-XD7WXG-60SJ03    1/4/16System [E]   RG9J3L-6R7804-XD7WXG-60SJ03    1/4/16[Description: Hard Drive 1] I... I have a new Dell Inspiron desktop running Windows 7 Pro with a wired keyboard that is now not working after Dell's update. Mouse is fine. I have an account password log-in and can't access anything because I can't type anything. Booting in safe mode does not work. Booting in the BIOS-- the keyboard is responsive. Not sure what to change or adjust to get the keyboard working.

If you all you need to do is pull your documents from the computer it can be done with a live linux disk. You would need another computer to burn a CD. Let me know and I can provide a link to a guide. The live linux disk would boot and you should have your keyboard and mouse available to transfer files to a USB external drive. Linux will run from RAM and the CD. It will not touch the Hard drive, only the fact you would be copying the files to another device.

Can not access sndvol.exe to create a shortcut to allow keyboard to control volume.

I am using a Standard PS2 wired keyboard for my HP Elite 8000 system. Details in my signature.

I discovered the following and wish to implement with my basic keyboard:

1) click your start menu. Type ?sndvol? in the search box at the bottom
2) Right-click-drag the sndvol program icon to your desktop and select the ?Create shortcuts here? option
3) Right click on the new shortcut and hit properties
4) Go to the shortcut tab, and click inside the ?shortcut key? box.
5) Make your shortcut key combo. For example I use ALT + F12. Hit apply and OK to close the dialogue box.

Although I am Administrator, I am being blocked from shortcut key which indicated "None" at the moment, to make create a shortcut to do what is suggested in the above instructions.

Can anyone advise a way to unblock (allow) me; or a workaround to adjust my volume and add a mute button shortcut from my keyboard (preferably from the up/ down arrows on the numeric pad) without going to a third party software or a purchasing new keyboard?

Thanks in advance.

No repairing of hard drives; they must be replaced.  See page 41 of the Service Manual here: Manual It can use any standard 2.5 inch wide 9.5 mm thick laptop hard drive and I recommend you at least get a 7200 rpm drive like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W014M8024 Do you have recovery disks made? If not post back for help with reinstalling software. If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

Q: Mous

This is for anyone familiar with Microsoft Office User Specialist Certifications (MOUS).

I was playing with the idea of getting the Microsoft Office User Specialist Certifications (MOUS) to put on my Resume. Because it will obviously cost me time and money to do this, I was wondering if I could get anyone's input on the matter. I was thinking of getting the Master Certification.

Is it a waste of time and money?

Will companies actually know and "respect" those certifications?

Also, they (well M$) recommend using those Microsoft Step by Step books to train and prepare for the exams. Are these books actually any good?

Thanks a lot guys for your input!

This is a very odd one.

I have an old Comfort Keyboard 2000 on my desktop machine which is failing. It works, but the keys are getting sloppy and it isn't long for the world.

That keyboard is no longer made, so I bought an inexpensive Wired Keyboard 600.

But when I plug it into my desktop machine I get the dreaded "bong-bong" and it refuses to come up!

If I go into the device manager, it's there under that name, with a nice "!" on it.

Now here's the fun part -- on my laptop (also Windows 7 x64!) it works!

I also looked in the registry for the VID and PID:

And found it under Enum\HID, and the file it references (oem183.inf) is in \Windows\inf.

Anyone have any ideas why this thing won't come up?

It does work in POST, Acronis recovery and on the Windows Rescue disk. But as soon as Win7 starts the number lock LED goes out and that's it -- it is not recognized once the OS starts, whether it's the only keyboard plugged into the machine or there's another one also connected at the same time.

A:Very Odd Wired Keyboard 600 Problem -- Win7 x64 refuses install

Hello genesis.

So it is a USB keyboard the works with the laptop but not with the desktop?

Attach the keyboard with the laptop. And then follow the instructions.
Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
It will open the "computer management" window.
Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
Expand "Keyboards" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
Select one item under it, right click, Properties.
Click on the "Driver" tab, and under it, click the "Driver Details" button.
Upload a screenshot of the resulting window.
It will let us know the drivers that the keyboard is using. And then it is to check why that driver is not working there in the desktop. Also upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
Click on the start button
Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
