sending email from browser

Q: sending email from browser

my OS is Win 2k, when I'm on Netscape 7.1 and find a site/page I want to send to a friend, I usally go to "file, send page" and Netscape mail would automatically open with the link or page ready to be sent, however don't want to use Netscape mail anymore, I want to use Outlook 2k, Is there a way I can get Netscape to open the outlook email client instead of the Netscape mail client when I go to "file , send link or page "?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I use Outlook for email, from Office 2007 Professional because the accounting program and my Palm Pro PDA likes it.

Just recently I have had a couple of complaints that emails with a video attached I have forwarded have been delivered to the addressee in excess of 30 or 40 times.

The latest was last night when one of my sons said he had received it 104 times, and another friend in the USA 99 times, needless to say both aren't happy, the video was a wmv (3mb).

When my son called me a an hour or so later it was still in my outgoing mail box, obviously because it was still sending.

I have run full AV scan using Esset Nod32 which came up clean, so I’m at a loss where else the problem is or where/what to look for.

Thanks for reading…..Any clues/help would be appreciated.

hello:

i have been trying to fix my email/outlook spam issue.  emails are going out WITH my actual email address, sending emails to people in my contacts, etc.
I also have been getting a ton of spam emails myself.

I use:

-Windows 7 Pro
-64 Bit
-Outlook 2010
-I have our own domain name email address, that is hosted by Frontier

Odd thing:  I changed my password for my email, but my outlook kept sending/receiving with the old password.
When I tried to update  the new password in outlook (which I verified by using the webmail versus outlook), it would not accept it.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Intermittently, Outlook 2007 will crash while sending an email and, needless to say, the email is not sent. However I wanted to know if there is a temp or backup copy of that mail anywhere. I've looked in drafts and it's not there.

I've sometimes typed a very long email and then lost the whole email when Outlook crashes so I just wanted to know if, like Word, there is a temp file that may be created.

Thanks.

RANDOM EXECUTION OF 'DEFAULT' BROWSER / OR SENDING CURRENT BROWSER TO 'HOME PAGE'
It's now 2018. I'm using Windows 10 version 1607. This very same issue in the post

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/519342/default-internet-browser-keeps-opening-randomly/

has been plaguing me for several months.
My 'default' browser is set to Microsoft Edge.
If I am running a non-browser app then the Microsoft Edge (ME) will open randomly to its set startup page. It won't go to a bogus URL ... just the main page as configured in my ME settings.
If, on the other hand, I am working with Firefox or Chrome or Opera, that browser will randomly go to the 'home page' as defined in that browser settings.
Every available malware-detection app already mentioned in previous posts here has been run and no issues detected.
Checking and repairing the integrity of my system using DISM and SFC both do nothing to fix the issue.
I'm almost certain this issue is caused by the Windows 10 OS trying to get out on the internet to do something. Whatever this 'something' is it is unsuccessful and it only gets as far as activating the browser 'home page'.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue?
TIA
John

Previously i was helped with code to send a static email through outlook express. Which work perfectly in my home network but when I took it to my work network I could not get the emails to send. Here is the code that worked at my network at home:
Code:
Public Sub Email()

Dim iMsg As Object
Dim iConf As Object
Dim WBname As String
Set iMsg = CreateObject("CDO.Message")
Set iConf = CreateObject("CDO.Configuration")

With iMsg
Set .Configuration = iConf
.To = "[email protected]"
.CC = ""
.BCC = ""
.From = """test"" <[email protected]>"
.Subject = "test"
.TextBody = "message"
.AddAttachment ""
.send
End With

End Sub
The only major difference that is obvious, is the email at the office requires SPA where as my home network does not. Any thoughts Would be great!

Hi there

what email client are you using on both systems, also remember network connections and are you running from SAME computer.

Linux networking in general is superior to Windows but if you are using a decent email client it shouldn't make a huge amount of difference.

Other factors -- what "pre-scans" etc are done by the email client (virus / attachment checking etc), are both set up to use imap / pop3 or going through an Ms Exchange server. Loads of things you need to compare when doing this type of analysis.

Any webmail based client is likely to be hideously slow though when compared with a proper email client on whatever system.

Cheers

I am having a problem sending email to an AOL address via outlook 2002. I can send to the address using my webmail portal and my yahoo, but not through my outlook. all other emails go out properly.

any ideas?

A:sending email to AOL

Hi, AOL email never did work with Outlook Express, I am not sure about Microsoft Outlook that comes with Office, if that is the Outlook you are meaning....

AOL users could not send mail nor get mail through OE, at least back a few years ago they could not, and if AOL was the service provider....there were some utilities that claimed to circumvent this, but I have not used them, and it seemed difficult to install and set these up, I did not bother with it at all.
(Things might be different with AOL mail these days.)
If you typed up a new mail in OE, and tried to send it, you would get an error message...of course, since there usually would have not been any account set up for POP3 mail in or out, no servers to connect to, and since AOL used different types of mail service, no way to get mail into OE.

Getting a Gmail account, free, might be a quicker solution, Gmail is simply great.

You should check out this: Description of Google's Gmail, how it works, privacy, etc...

And also> , take a look at this, it may be the easiest way to do it>

http://support.email2pop.com/eMail2Pop_Introduction.html

You do still I think have to be invited to Gmail, so if you know someone who has it, they should have invitations to spare...if you want to try it, let us know, I have invitations.

This is just a way of preventing/blocking spam or other intrusive email by creating rules in your email client.Sometimes the rules can be pretty strict and they may not know just how strict they set them.They probably didnt do it on purpose.

Does anyone know of a way to turn off the email address in the BCC section of Vista email and show only the names? In XP Windows Express, it only showed the names with a semi-colon between names. I've just gotten my new computer (Vista 64 bit) set up with email contacts. When I send BCCs, it lists the name and the email addresses which makes that section very long.

A:Sending BCC email

Hi, What i have done to aleviate this problem is when adding contacts to the address book, i have listed a display name. So when sending an email it will only display what you have listed. You can edit the contact in address book by selecting the person, right click, properties, it then will enable you to edit this.

Hope this helped

Hi, and welcome to the board.

- First, set Windows 98 to display three-letter file extensions: Open My Computer, choose View, Folder Options and click the View tab. Deselect the checkmark next to "Hide file extensions for known filetypes." Click OK.

- Click Start, Run, type sendto, and click OK. Windows will open a window titled SendTo.

- Right-click in the SendTo window and select New, Text Document.
Rename the file to Mail Recipient.MAPIMail (copy this exactly).
Close the SendTo window.

Good luck,

Hi Starbuck, you got my curiosity stirred so I went looking and did find this on one site:

Executable files that have been placed in an archive file will not be blocked. An archive file contains one or more files that have been "compressed" into one file. After the archive file is delivered via email to the recipient, the executable file(s) are extracted from the archive. Common archive formats are WinZip (.zip) files for Windows, and StuffIt (.sit) for Macintosh.
An archiving utility is required for compressing and extracting archive files - you must ensure that both you and your recipient have the required utility.

Hello,

Some time ago, I saw at Radio Shack a small computer that sends and receives email and has internet access, I believe, it was around $100.00. For the life of me, I can't remember what it was called and when I phoned Radio Shack, I was told about a palm pilot pc, but the one I saw isn't a handheld, it was about 9-10" in width, and 5-6" in height with a keyboard. Do you have any idea what this is called? I have a computer- phobic friend and want to introduce him to the world of computers by giving him a simpler, smaller and less costly pc that will allow him to send and receive email with perhaps some access to the internet.

Thank you for any information you can give me.

These emails contain a subject line with an unfarmilar random name (at least to me). One of the names I have seen repeated is nadine belmant. In the body is a link to a website to buy viagra and other crap. Scans with AVG and Spybot have come up with no issues reported. I do not have any other error messages or alerts from windows. Running Windows 7. Thanks for any help you can provide in advance

Hi there!

I'm real stumped here. I have an Excel document setup to find the row where there is an "x" in column N and send an email. I have an Outlook template setup and have the VBA setup to replace words in the template with data in the excel document.

It seemingly goes off without a hitch. Once i run the macro the email pulls up and i see the data has been inserted. So all i have to do is hit send on the email.

The problem is once i hit send, the email is sent without the data from the excel document. It basically looks like the original template without any changes. Can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong? I've used the very same code in another excel document (with various changes to the data being inserted) and it works just fine. Thank you

Here is my code:

Sub SendEmail()
Dim myOlApp As Outlook.Application
Dim MyItem As Outlook.MailItem
Set myOlApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")

'Loop through the rows
For Each cell In Columns("N").Cells.SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible)
If cell.Value Like "x" Then

'Get the data

EmailAddr = cell.Offset(0, 1).Value
Claim = cell.Offset(0, -11).Value
Report = cell.Offset(0, -7).Value
Comments = cell.Offset(0, -8).Value
Responsible = cell.Offset(0, -9).Value
Findings = cell.Offset(0, -1).Value
Set MyItem = myOlApp.CreateItemFromTemplate("H:\EXCHANGE\Correction Required - URGENT.oft")
With MyItem

.To = EmailAddr
.HTMLBody = Replace(.HTML... Read more

Hello..

My old PC running Windows XP recently contracted a virus or two. One of them, av.exe, I was able to kill through being quick with the task manager on start up. I then ran BitDefender and was able to scan and delete everything problematic I found.

I thought it was fixed, until at 6:30 this morning my friends called me complaining about being sent a virus from my email...!!

I'm not sure what I missed or what to do next. I know this isn't the place for Hijack this logs, but I ran one just in case. Maybe it could at least give you guys a starting point...

Ten days ago my Outlook stopped sending emails but continued to receive emails. My error code was 0x800E42109. Cox (my ISP) stated that it was an Outlook problem so I use Outlook Express. The error code on Outlook Express 0X800CCC0E with the same result. They told me to contact Microsoft.

Much work in between with calls and emails to Cox trying to see if they were blocking my port 25,etc. Installing and uninstalling Outlook and outlook express. Googling this and that. Turning firewalls and antivirus off and on, checking rootkit programs, running scans ad nauseum. I also loaded Thunderbird which also would not send but would receive.

Finally they stated that even though my firewall allowed all the mail programs (based on the traffic log), the reason for the problem was my System Suite fire wall and to please uninstall it. After uninstalling System Suite, all my winsock settings went haywire (shame on you Vcom) and had to be fixed by WinsockXPfix.

I then recontacted Cox with all their requests accomplished and the same errors occurring with or without the XP firewall. The Cox rep finally said he would check my modem and, lo and behold, the firmware settings were wrong, so he reset them to the latest firmware. Everything worked fine after that.

Hopefully, anybody else with the same type of problem will use this experience to have their ISP guys check the cable modem first. It only takes a minute.
