Preferred Solution: Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 x64 setup failed

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 x64 setup failed

Since it's a cracked version of Sim's the possibilities are endless. Plus this site does not support this type of software/program.

I am the only account on this laptop, being an administrator, I have tried running this as an admin, changing the permissions of the OFFICE file in ProgramData to "Full control" and it replied with "Access is denied." while trying to apply security information.

A:Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Assertion Failed

The author of this code (was it you?) committed a coding "sin" here. The purpose of 'assert' to check logical assumptions, not to deal with error returns. Calling a routine from an external library and asserting that it returns success is just a bad thing to do -- as you can see here. The program should have caught the error and retrieved the error code (along with any other available information) and displayed it so that you'd stand some chance of figuring out what went wrong.

In any case, you should be about to Google OCIEnvCreate to get some ideas about why this method might fail; you might even find some info in the Oracle documentation.

Alright, before you point me to some Autodesk troubleshooting site, please hear me out - this isn't the run of the mill problem.

I'm trying to install Autodesk 3Ds Max 2015 on my computer. I have everything in order, but as soon as it starts to install, I get about 3 minutes of a loading bar before this happens:

Naturally, I looked in the log to see what went wrong and found this:

"Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603"

I looked that up and apparently I'm not the only one with this issue. However, the one fix for it (or at least, the one fix that I understood) involved uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86) from my computer, rebooting, then redoing the installation.

Sounds pretty clear-cut to me, it's just that there's one problem...

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable is apparently not even on my PC. Even though I literally installed it from the Microsoft website about 10 minutes ago, just to be sure, it won't show up!

So, I can't remove it, because I can't even bloody well find it. I've installed it around 3 times now, every time the installer for C++ 2005 gets to about 70% and then closes without so much as an error noise so I don't even know if it's working or not.

Somebody, please help! The official troubleshooting guides are useless to me and most of the alternate solutions involve all this complicated nonsen... Read more

Hello. I'm receiving a Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library: Debug Assertion Failed! error message whenever I open an application (the application is an EEG monitoring Patient Database). The application will open, but as soon as I move my cursor, the above error message pops up. Selecting Abort or Retry causes the application to close. If I click Retry several times, the error message disappears, but shows up again after moving the cursor around. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I know my way around a computer to a certain extent, and this is obviously beyond me.

I am using a ThinkCentre M52 8113-F1U with Windows XP service pack 2.

Hello

I've been getting this error for a while now, it only really affected one program and even then the program still worked fine if I ignored the error:

As you can see it's starting to spread to different applications like some kind of disease.
If I click Abort, it ends the program mentioned in the error, if I Retry the program becomes unresponsive and I'm forced end the program anyway and if I choose Ignore the same thing happens. However if I completely ignore the error, the program still works perfectly fine. It's just becoming a bit of a nuisance as it's filling up the windows bar.

Does anybody know how to fix this? I have already searched these forums for the same problem but I could only find one solved thread which directed me to another thread that doesn't exist.

Thanks,
Patrick

Dear Members,

Visual Studio Profesional Edition is great indeed........however and as many many users, mainly one Programming Lang. would be sufficient.

Do you know or have you noticed a solution for getting a specific licence either dor VS-2013-Pro. C++ or
VS-2013-Pro. C#
Thanks a lot!

A:Visual Studio Pro. 2013 -options-

Hi t2p2z,

Hope all is well,

I am not sure I understand fully what you are asking and for the I apologize. If you asking if we know if there is any other versions of professional plus which is only specific to one programming language my answer would be NO not that I am aware of.

I am aware of VS pro 2013 and VS pro 2013 with MSDN.

If you would like to know more this is the white paper I reference for more knowledge.

Download Visual Studio and MSDN Licensing White Paper from Official Microsoft Download Centre

hope that helps!

Alrighty, I'm pretty sure the answer to this is self evident, but I am having an issue installing Visual Studio Community 2013 on my Windows 7 computer. I realize that It's supposed to be for windows 8, but it did say that windows 7 was also supported.
Here's a picture of the error message:
Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting

I suspect it may be because in the requirements it says that KB2883200 is required, but that should only be for Windows 8.

So my question is is there a way to install it on windows 7? I thought there was since there was a guy using it on what appeared to be a windows 7 machine.

I have Visual Studio Express 2013 and I need to get Visual Studio 2012 for class.

I decided that the best option might be to uninstall 2013 and then install 2012.

When trying to uninstall it the first time it got stuck on Build Tools x86 and then it said: Build Tools x86 - Fatal error during installation

I have repeatedly attempted to uninstall so many times but I believe these are the change logs.

I wanted to try to repair it even though I was going to get rid of it but I found out it would take a while cause of my slow internet.
Instead I attempted to reinstall it with an ISO. I did that but it turns out that made 2 installations of Visual Studio. I uninstalled the one I just installed and was back to square one.
I did a system restore to the point before I tried to uninstall 2013 and attempted to uninstall it again. I left it on overnight but it is stuck on Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 XAML UI Designer.
Can someone please help me?

A few weeks ago, I was changing the themes that windows uses for the windows and Explorerframe.dll, and good stuff like that. However, Explorerframe.dll doesn't like users to try and change it, so I had to jump through some hoops to get this theme change to work. I'm admin on the computer, but now whenever I need to perform some action that requires high rights, I get prompted with a UAC asking for permission to run Explorer.exe(even if I'm trying to run something else). That's just been a little minor downside to the themes, except for the last few days. I've been trying to install Visual Studio 2013 to replace my VS 2010, but it won't install. Literally, if I click on the "Install" button that has the Admin logo on it, it will think for a second, and then just quit, no error message. This happens with pretty much every version of Visual Studio I've tried to update(post 2012).

I need to use VS 2013 to use C++11, so this is pretty important.

Please get back to me as soon as possible, and feel free to ask me technical questions. I'm usually the guy that people go to fix their computers, but this one has me stumped.
Thanks.

A:UAC & Explorer.exe & Visual Studio 2013 Express

Ok so I just fixed it(funny how awesome I am).

I went into Event viewer, found what error was causing the problem, and used the GUID to track down the exact issue. Turns out (like I suspected), it came down to explorerframe.dll. I thought I had already restored it, but turns out I didn't apply that to the Wow64 folder as well(I just replaced explorerframe.dll in System32).

If you need any more info email me at [REMOVED]

Just in case anyone else has this same problem. I know how frustrating it can be to not find out the issue. The advice I can give you is just persevere, don't leave your computer till you fix it. And you'll learn a lot.

Later sevenforums, peace.

I just upgraded to the Windows Technical Preview keeping all of my files and settings. I opened up a project I had been working on in Visual Studio for a while in C# and came across 2 build errors as follows:

1>C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\12.0\bin\Microsoft.Common.CurrentVersion.targets(1697,5): warning MSB3277: Found conflicts between different versions of the same dependent assembly that could not be resolved. These reference conflicts are listed in the build log when log verbosity is set to detailed.

1>C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\12.0\bin\Microsoft.Common.CurrentVersion.targets(2234,5): warning MSB3283: Cannot find wrapper assembly for type library "MSHTML". Verify that (1) the COM component is registered correctly and (2) your target platform is the same as the bitness of the COM component. For example, if the COM component is 32-bit, your target platform must not be 64-bit.
I'm assuming it had something to do with the upgrade hence the assembly problems. If anybody could help out with fixing this it'd be greatly appreciated

Hello everyone,

I'm in a bit of a unique situation. I'm away, in London, with work. I do a lot of software development but do not have a laptop capable of running the required software. A colleague kindly lent his fairly new PC Specialist Clevo laptop. Unfortunately he failed to mention it BSOD, a lot. It is at worst when running the applications mentioned in the thread title, however it has been known to hard lock up just browsing the internet and BSOD randomly. The applications listed give the most reliable result.

I took a look in device manager to see if I could spot the culprit. There was around 5 unknown devices. I informed him of this, he sent me a link with all the related laptop drivers in it. It has now come to my attention that the link was for a different model number than the one written on the bottom of his laptop...

I suspect he may have given me his laptop hoping it comes back fixed lol. As I now have nothing better to do in the evenings (can't do over time, can't play games) I may as well try and figure out how to fix it. Which is hopefully where you guys/girls come in (I have already spoke to him and he's happy for me to do what is required).

I have uploaded the log file as per the instructions.

Edit: Some of the BSOD errors are as follows

I recently purchased an ASUS Windows 8.1 64 bit computer.  I transferred my Microsoft Works Version 8.0 word processor and spreadsheet files from my old computer onto the new computer.  I just purchased the Microsoft Office 2013 Home and Student Edition (64 bit version) from an online vendor and installed the software onto my new computer.

I have no problems opening my Works spreadsheet files in Excel.  However, when I attempt to open a Works word processor file in Word, I get gibberish.  I did some research online and found out that there is a Microsoft tool called Works 6-9 Converter which allows one to open Works files in Word.

I downloaded the Works 6-9 Converter tool from the Microsoft Support website and installed it on my PC.  However, when I subsequently attempted to open a Works word processor file in Word, a dialog box appeared with the error message "Word cannot start the converter Wks9Pxy.cnv" and the file did not open properly (i.e., I got gibberish).

I did a little more research online and found out that uninstalling the Works 6-9 Converter, then downloading and installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package, and finally reinstalling the Works 6-9 Converter may correct this problem.  I followed these steps, but unfortunately when I attempt to open a Works word processor file in Word, I get the same error message and the file does not open properly. ... To all,
I know I am just looking at it wrong, but I am in college and have a Microsoft Dreamspark account.  Dreamspark allows you to get all types of software for classes, such as devolper tools, Visual Studio, Win Server etc.

The program launches a secure download client, a mini type of filezilla, and down loads a folder with a .ISO file in it.
Now usually I just double click it and burn it to a DVD.
Start the DVD and issue solved.  But this .ISO is 6.87GB, over the 4.3GB limit of DVDs (standard ones that is).  Dont see a option using USB Easy 123 for this, and the stupid Windows 7 USB DVD download tool states the ".iso file is not vaild"

So either my .iso is crap, or I need someone out there to thow a program name out that will auto boot this to the USB stick.  I got work to do.

thanks in advance
CZ

A:Running .ISO file from USB flash drive. Visual Studio 2013

UPDATE:
So again I answered my own question.  In Windows 7 & higher, you dont need a converter tool, all you need is a compression tool like 7zip, or WinRaw, or whatever.  You can get 7zip under downloads here at B.C.

So if you have a .ISO or .IMG file.  Open 7zip after you down load it, browse inside 7zip to the .iso file, and double click on it.

Boom, you will get all the packaged files in it.  Run the .exe installer and on my way to DOING VB.... Nooooooooo

Hi there
I've got a little bit more time now so I'm trying to mess around with a bit of Visual Basic -- used to know the old GW-BASIC / IBM Basic from PC / MS DOS days !!! so I'm not starting from absolute ZERO (unlike C++ / C#).

I downloaded the Visual Studio 2013 from the ms site.

However when I load a New Visual Basic project I get a popup screen requesting a "Developers license" . I clicked agree and just closed the Microsoft sign in screen and the application continued OK. This is going to be annoying if I have to do this every time or is a "developers License" something that requires you to be a subscriber to something else.

What is "Developers License" -- I thought all the run times were distributable anyway -- otherwise there really doesn't seem to be any point in using Visual Studio.

I tried the same thing on another machine with Visual Studio 2012 and I never got any prompt -- so is Visual Studio 2013 restricted or what -- it would imply that I can't give my code away or run any Visual studio 2013 objects on different machines.

Any help here -- I'm confused --or should I just stick to Visual studio 2012.

Cheers
