Cannot sync Outlook 2007 contacts and calendars with icloud and iphone

Q: Cannot sync Outlook 2007 contacts and calendars with icloud and iphone

Hello knowledgeable ones:

Until last week I was using outlook 2003, an older versions of itunes, and an ipod, and was able to back up my outlook contacts and calender through itunes and right to the ipod, no problem.

Now, however, I have had to upgrade everything so they can handshake correctly. This has meant going to Outlook 2007, the latest itunes, an iphone 5, and the icloud. My entire goal is to have the contacts in outlook match the contacts in both the cloud and the phone.

In using the icloud control on both of these, I now have the following: a variety of calenders in my outlook with names like calender in icloud, home in icloud, and my calender, all in lovely pastel shades. The phone has one calendar with only the occasionally dupes on a given date.

The phone, however, is a disaster, with as many as three dupes of the same name. Looking at Outlook, I have a slew of contacts, some dupes, many that I though i had deleted from outlook. Also two categories of contacts, icloud and my contacts, with sub-directories in each. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that the contacts tab under my contacts was completely blank following a sync to the cloud, only to then find the other five versions, which, of course, I would like to have agree with each other. The icloud interface on line shows dupe contacts as well.

I understand that one person may not have all the answers to all the parts of this; I am on an iphone forum as well, trying to figure it out from that end. I guess the main focus here could be how outlook 2007 backs up to the cloud, and the question I have for everyone all the time, which is which overwrites what? Do changes in outlook appear in the cloud or vice versa? The interface of Outlook is better than that of icloud because you can see the whole listing at once, but if I am forced to do all the editing in the cloud to get this to work I will. `Plus, how to get all the various versions of the various contacts and calenders to agree with each other in Outlook.

Thanks in advance for reading this far and unlocking the secrets for me.

I recommend downloading and running Outlook PST Repair. It's a PST repair tool that I've used it in the past to recover emails, contacts, tasks and notes from corrupt Outlook files that are damaged or inaccessible. Supports Outlook 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013.

You can download it direct from this link http://goo.gl/1bjhSi. (This link will automatically start a download of Outlook PST Repair that you can save to your computer.)

Somewhere in the update/install process of Windows 10 (and re-installing Outlook 2007), I lost my contacts in my Outlook account. The contacts remain in my iCloud account and on my iPhone. Can some please instruct me on how to import all the contacts back in to my desktop Outlook 2007 application?

I currently use Outlook 2010 because I have a paid license but I'm willing to upgrade.

This works Ok with iCloud but what I don't like is that I can't make my icloud calendar the default in Outlook so I don't get reminders on my PC. What I end up doing is manually copying critical appointments from my icloud calendar to my Outlook default calendar if I want to be sure to get a reminder on my PC!. This isn't ideal though. Does anyone have a better solution? I read that the latest Outlook 2016 doesn't sync at all so I can't upgrade Office. I wish MS and Apple would decide to work together instead of trying to defeat each other!!

I believe icloud will sync with windows 10 mail and calendar apps - is that true?

I've also heard of emclient being good but haven't tried it.

I'd really appreciate any input.

Yep, I've been trying for over 12 months to get my contacts in MS Office 365 to sync with iCloud contacts!

I have Googled the world, been there dun that with never-ending suggestions but am no closer to solving the problem, assuming it is solvable!

I've been into iCloud contacts, Selected All contacts, exported as a Vcard, imported into Outlook but all it does out of 165 contacts is the very first one but ........ the saved Vcard file happily says 165 contacts contained herein, but there ain't, just the very first one starting with an A.

Maybe it can only be done one by one and not as a Group?

I vaguely recall way back in earlier Windows versions - like 5+ years ago - I had no problem with it then, so maybe I'm missing a step but trust me, I have tried every single trick suggested to me, all to no avail!

MS says "its easy....... yeh!

Any advice much appreciated!

Hi (again) guys and my apologies for yet again raising this saga that is driving me nuts!

Trust me, I have Googled the earth and tried every recommendation there is to solve the above issue that has been plaguing me ever since I stoopidly paid for the Office 365 suite!

I've gone to iCloud x Contacts x Settings x "Select All" as in blocking all the names, created an Export vCard, and that lets me save the file with it's 167 contacts to the desktop quite OK, data size looks about right, but then there is no way I can IMPORT it into MS Outlook 365!

The vCard file says there are the 167 contacts in there so it would appear the export bit is working OK, I guess?

Prior to 365, I had no problem for years and years so kind of know how to set it all up on my PC, devices and iCloud - or I thought I did - but this one has me well and truly beaten!

As an aside, I also seem to be having trouble syncing my Apple iPad and iPhone with the Cloud as well but I re-downloaded the latter again on my PC, checked all my device settings are set right and ........... getting nowhere!

Any advice short of harikari much appreciated!

Hello all

We have a home network (wireless) consisting of a desktop & notebook. Both machines running Vista & Outlook Pro 2007. Currently have Outlook as the default email program on both machines & set up so that we receive our emails on both machines.

What we would like to do is set up Outlook to update Contacts etc. on both machines simultaneously ie if I update Contacts on the desktop it is immediately visible on the notebook. Is it a matter of just the sharing the .pst file or do I need to do something else?

Hi everyone!

What is the best way to sync my emails, contacts, and calendar with my Outlook 2010 (win7 pc), iPhone, and iPad2?

Basically, I want to send/receive emails to all devices, and update my calendar and contacts on my Outlook, and then have my iOS devices update automatically be synced with my Outlook contacts and calendar, and vice versa.

I've used Microsoft Exchange in the past to do this, but it seems like over kill... and it's a little overcomplicated for me. I was hoping I could just do all this with Gmail, but it seems that I need MS Exchange to do it that way too.

Any help and advice is very appreciated!!!

I have an iPhone and began using it when I had Outlook 2007 running under XP. Everything worked fine. I got a new laptop with Vista 64-bit. Now when I sync my iPhone everything still works just fine .. except for contacts where I have associated an iPhone picture with them. The contact (including the picture) lives in my 'Contacts' in Outlook 2007 but when I go to send a new e-mail message to one of those contacts they do not show up - any clues how to resolve? This didn't happen before. Thanks!!

Hello everyone,
I am asking for help on one particular problem.
If you could spare some time here is my question:
- I run Win7 Ultimate and Outlook 2007.
- I enter my hotmail address into Outlook Connector, so Hotmail is my default message handler in Outlook. Every thing runs normally until I discover that I cannot sync my Contacts with my iPhone, either with iTunes or with MobileMe, although the "Contacts" folder in Outlook contains 300+ names.
After some investigation I found some explanation:
- The Contacts displayed in the Contacts folder of Outlook are from my hotmail address book (contacts in EMAIL REMOVED), and the Outlook contact book is empty!!! No wonder that the result of the sync is nil, because the only option in the sync procedure is to sync Contacts with Outlook.
In order to sync my contacts with my iPhone I think that I need to Move/Copy/Import all the contacts from (contacts in EMAIL REMOVED) to the Outlook Address book.
I don't know if it is possible or not.
Could you tell me?
All inputs are appreciated.
Thank you

A:Windows 7 Outlook 2007 Address book and Sync with iPhone

Well, you can copy/paste them by doing Select All (CTRL-A) on the Hotmail contacts list in Outlook, then Copy (CTRL-C), then switch to the Outlook contact book and Paste (CTRL-V). That should hold you over until a little later this summer when Hotmail adds official support for wireless iPhone contact syncing via the Exchange ActiveSync protocol.

Hope that helps!

I have three sets of contacts - WLM for my computer and iPad for email, and iPhone contacts that I use primarily for phone calls.

Last night I cleaned up my WLM contacts by deleting many and combining some. Now, I want to transport the cleaned contacts listings to two iPhones and an iPad. I have a CSV copy of the cleaned WLM contacts, and can easily add phone numbers.

I also want to sync all of the devices so that a change to one appears on all. Is this done through the cloud?

Any help or referral to a URL that explains how to do this is appreciated.

I've had an Android for almost 2 years, and although I really love it I'm considering getting an iPhone when my contract ends (I have an iPod touch and just really starting liking some of the apps and user experience)

The only issue for me is I'm a heavy Google user: gmail, google calendar, google contacts, etc.

I love how right now I can add a contact or calendar event on my phone, and it immediately syncs to my Google account (or vice-versa syncs to my phone).

I did a bit of research so far on how this would work on an iPhone, and it seems there are apps but that you still need iTunes? Is that true? Or is there an app that will mimic the functionality I get on my Android?

I do plan to jailbreak it, if that helps any.

I am running Outlook 2003. I have a POP3 account connected to a 3rd party email hosting company. I also have another MS Exchange email account. I also use ActiveSync to sync my POP3 to my PDA.

I want my 2 email calendars to sync with each other so both calendars look exactly the same. It had been doing this on its own on the initial setup of both email accounts, but it has since stopped.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this from within Outlook? Like I said, on the initial setup, it just auto-magic-ally did it. I had to uninstall/re-install ActiveSync and since then it has not been working.

Hello, I have multiple issues regarding address books and contacts. I am currently trying to organize multiple address books on my Win 2000 desktop(outlook express) my laptop XP (outlook 2007) and my IPhone 3G. They are a mess because of old cell phone backups combined with address book entries. I now have multiple entries for numerous contacts etc.
After organizing all these contacts/address books I would like to import to my new Win 7 desktop (outlook 2010 beta) and retire my Win 2000 desktop. These are all stand alone computers that are not networked other than through a router to share broadband access.
I tried searching for software to help combine and organize all three of these but had no luck.
I then tried manually updating all my contacts on my laptop and Iphone but I ran into a glich of sorts. After making the changes on my Iphone and doing a ITunes sync, some of the contacts disappeared. Right now I am not sure how many, but I noticed a few of the ones I use alot are gone on both my laptop and Iphone.
I do not subscribe to or use the "mobile me" feature.
I have spent quite a bit of time searching the net without finding a solution.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!
Thank You!

2 of my friends are looking to share their Contacts, Calendars, and Task. They want it to be able so that when one person adds something to their contacts the other one will immediately be able to see it, same thing with the tasks, reminders and callendars.

I figured the easiest way to do this would be if one of them could just log into the email account and check it that way, but they want to do it the hard way. I know that Outlook supports a sharing feature but I have never used it, nor do I know if it supports all the features that they want.

How would I go about setting this up if it is possible?

Yep, looked everywhere on TSG but can't seem to find a suite dedicated to iCloud issues - this is as close as I can get but apologies if it is off subject here ..................... more than happy to move it if one of the Mods can tell me where to go!

Anyhow, just a quick post to express my total lack of understanding with iCloud - part of a big club from what I can see on Google!

I use iCloud for all my calendars and have been using the different colour calendars for specific events etc. such as say "red" for birthdays. "green" for appointments and to date have had no problems.

After a recent windows update (I think) I now find that ALL the colour calendars are visible on the left hand side of the calendar page when viewed on Outlook 07 with every one of the seven colours all having a tick in the box inside them and therefore of course displaying every one of them on the main viewing window on the right side.

I don't even have my default "calendar" anymore though the "anniversaries" calendar shows everything I have scheduled. Naturally, as I "uncheck" each colour calendar on the left, those on the right are removed PLUS their contents from what appears to be my default calendar (anniversaries)

How do I get back to just having the one basic iCloud calendar showing whilst still having the coloured ones in the background should I wish to just pull ONE of them up?

This does not appear a great explanation but hope... Read more

In Outlook 2007 the days go across the page rather than down..... this means that my boss is looking at what used to be Tuesday and is now Wednesday and he is rather confused...

Have you looked into printing the days left to right instead? That should alleviate the confusion and is easy to read. Also Calendar Details view is fairly handy as well when you are just interested in seeing what you are doing without all of the whitespace.

At the college I work for we mostly use Microsoft Outlook 2007 at the moment. We do not use an exchange server, but we do use Oracle Content Services and Oracle Outlook connector. People can share their calendars with others. We recommend going to File > Open > Other User's Folder and searching for their name, and if they have correct permissions, they can view that person's calendar. The problem is that once these calendars are in your Outlook, we don't know how to remove them. If you try to right-click > delete, it wants to delete it from the server and they obviously don't have permissions for that so it denies them.

Is there any way at all to remove these shared calendars from their navigation pane? I mean they can be unchecked but they stay in the list, obviously. We have many users that need to view tons of shared calendars, but when an employee leaves, their calendar is in the list unless we recreate the other user's Outlook profile, forcing them to re-add all the calendars they need.

We have users running on Windows 7 and XP, if it matters.

A:Remove shared calendars in Outlook 2007

OK well I actually figured it out on my own...if anyone cares, I had to select my Shared Folders in the Mail view, which actually showed the calendars that have been added underneath it. Then go to Tools > Shared Folders > Manage and remove them from there.

Hi guys,

Stumbled on these forums when searching for a solution to my problem...

The office I'm in would like a shared/group calendar displayed in Outlook, so they all know what each other are doing. If they were using MSExchange this would be simple, but they aren't. My original plan was to create a google account, and sync the GCal with each of their Outlooks, using the Google Outlook Sync application, so they can all add to it etc. What I didn't realise was that this would also sync all of their personal (or own work related) appointments with the GCal one. I thought it would create it as a new calendar in Outlook, but I guess not.

This isn't ideal, as a few of the guys use Outlook Calendar a lot, and having all of their appointments show up on everyone's computer is a bit of a pain. What they want is to be able to add to the group calendar "Bob - Out of office" or "Tim - Holiday" etc etc, rather than the specific personal events. I hope this is making sense?

I use a Mac so don't have access to Outlook to fiddle around with things, although I can get on it if I need to, just not for long periods of time. That's why I want to get a solution down before I go applying it to machines/fiddling and testing things.

Does anyone have any experience with what I'm trying to do/have any suggestions? All help is appreciated!

As a matter of fact, most of the responses give instructions that are simply not available on my versions of Outlook!

Is it possible folks? And if so, how do I do it it? I was 99% sure I could do it back before I got Office 365 Outlook but now no more!

Many thanks

A:Importing contacts from the Contacts folder into Outlook 2007

Hi johnbigbootie89,

Welcome to Vista Forums!

Let me apologize that it took so long for someone to reply to your request - but it is now active and I think we'll be able to resolve it. In fact, I think I have just what you need.

Check out the following article: Importing contacts from Windows Contacts folder | MSOutlook.info. Make sure you use the Vista procedure. It seems the article was designed specifically for this purpose so I have high hopes it will accomplish your objective. You do not drag the contents (which is essentially copy/paste) - you use import/export instead.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

I have a new laptop running Windows 7. I downloaded Office Office Professional Plus 2010. I tried to both import saved .pst files imported from my old computer but that didn't seem to work. So tried to sync my Iphone with Outlook hoping to load that information onto Outlook but Outlook crashed & will no longer open.

How do I import my old records to Outlook as the Import/Export function didn't seem to work?
Is there anyway to sync an I phone to Outlook 2010?

BUT MOST IMPORTANT: before that how do I get my Outlook to function at all?

Sheila, Welcome to Windows 7 Support forums,
I will answer your issues in 2 parts! The issue of Iphone and Outlook, specificall the sync issue is not the fault of Windows 7 or Outlook. The issue revolves around Apple and the Itunes program. Previous versions of Itunes have a small bridge program which is an add on, the add ons are used for specific program calls such as Outlook, outlook uses the add ons to sync data from within their databases to import/export data to and from specific programs. When Office 2010 was released as a beta and now final Apple had not written the add in for outlook to execure. It gets even more complex as Office is now released in a 64 bit version so the Itunes v9.1.1 has no such add in yet.
The second issue of Outlook importing in pst files caused a corruption so I woulsd remove Outlook and re-install dependin... Read more
