I extended my warranty but warranty was tagged with another serial no of laptop and my laptop is out of warranty. For more details, I have marked a mail also and locked a case [Personal Information Removed] in customer care. Its a fraud by HP/partners. Please check and suggest on priority.

Hello.

Recently I recieved by mail my brother's laptop to fix,since I`m the "smart" guy inthe family everyone is pushing me with IT or Electronic choirs...anyway, it`s not why I`m here. The laptop has a broken screen, I tried to attach the laptop to another monitor via VGA but didn`t wor, no image at all. So I`m wondering if the mainboard is bustedm since I don`t know if I should order a new display for it or just toss it in the garbage can. The colored leds are on when I start it, no booting sound, but the HDD is working, so is the dvd-rw, I mean it takes commands, all the buttons work, I mean restart and power.is there a chance that the mainboard is bustend and I still have power on cpu/optical device/storage?

My wife's laptop is acting crazy. It's been working fine, then the other night the screen starting blinking and became unreadable. It would just blink a ton and flash on and off. She took it in the next day to her work to the tech guys there and it worked fine. Today the same issue. I was able to get it to start in Safe Mode and it works just fine. Trying to start in regular mode it starts out just fine, then goes to blinking/flashing, etc.

Any ideas? Sorry I can't give more details, but that is as good a description as I can give!

So I've googled this issue as much as i could, most anwsers go you need to reinstall windows and most likely lost all the data on it.
My laptop is medion erazer p6679 on Win 10. I was on a zoom call when it froze and crashed. When turning on it gives me the message shown in the screen and what it the boot menu shows me.
All repair shops are shut near by and I really need it for my uni courses.
Is there anything you guys can suggest(I dont have the original windows 10 and would need to buy new, with the current state of the world might be difficult )

Cant get internet connectivity. My NIS is working. Have a valid Ip but Wont connect in firefox or IE7. UNLESS i boot in safe mode. Tried wireless, local, and even my BB and all the same. Valid (but different IP) address and no online connectivity.

Most likely a 3rd party firewall (internet security) issue. If "NIS" is Norton Internet Security I'm guessing that you are right about it working. It's keeping you perfectly safe from the big bad internet.

...it says, but 10.0.0.138 doesnt work, I did search a bit with google about it but found nothing certain.

I have installed a wireless card onto my PC, the card sees the network tells me I have connection, but IE does not connect.

I have cleared DNS cache, repaired IP/TCP Winsock. And

IPCONFIG shows that I have no default gateway.

Any ideas?

A:[SOLVED] Suspect DNS Isue with Vista

Your Default Gateway is your Router. Unplug the power plug to the Modem and the Router. Plug the power into just the Modem (unless you have a modem/router combo) When all the lights come up, plug in the power to the Router (unless combo of course) Go to Start/Search and type inetcpl.cpl and press enter/Connections/LAN Settings. Make sure all the boxes are unchecked. Now go to Start/Search and type ncpa.cpl and press enter. Right click the Local Area connection/Properties scroll down to Internet Protocol IPV4 (TCP-IP)/Properties. Make sure Obtain an IP Address and DNS Server Address Automatically are both checked. Now go to Start/Search and type CMD right click the Command Prompt link in the Search Results and choose Run As Administrator. IN the Command Prompt type ipconfig /release and press enter. the IP Address changes to 0.0.0.0 Now type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter. Now type ipconfig /renew. Now type ipconfig /all. You should have a new IP address try it again. If you still cannot connect please include the text output of your ipconfig /all in your next post

Hello my name is Gringoyle

Let me start from the very begining, I was play Ever Quest 2 when my key board started acting up i found that it was my mouse, when my mouce was in movement the keyboard was inop so if was to use the (W,A,D,S) keys to navigate than use the mouce to move the cursor i would stop movment.

So I decided to test the mouce in safe mode, I and made a big mistake by using msconfig to do so. Well it started an endless loop of chrashing when windows would boot causing the loop to start over. I can however use F8 still which i did to to try and repair my system, it recommended that I use the recovery, that had failed. I than used the F8 last knowen good configuration option to start windows and I am running again, I than when to change the settings in msconfig i had made but i am unable to. When in msconfig under the general tab the "Selective Startup" is selected, under the boot tab the options are normal, safe mode is not selected. However if I select the Normal Startup option under the general tab the safe mode box becomes check under the boot tab and if I uncheck the safe boot box, the Selective Startup option is than selected again under the general tab.

And my dang mouce is still causing the keyboard to be inop when in use.

I bought a Lenov Ideapad 510 15IKB on 14th April 2017. Now I'm facing 2 issues with the warranty registration and warranty upgrade: Issue#1On April 16th I registered the base warranty of my product as it should start from the purchase date of my product. After few email conversations for purchase proof, finally on 3rd May, I received email confirming the base warranty registration of my product. It was starting from 14th April 2017 and ending on 13th April 2018. I checked the same on lenovo website. But few days back when I again checked the warranty status, it was restored to factory warranty (15 Oct 2016 - 13 nov 2017). I don't know why this happened and how this happened. When I contacted lenovo, they said that warranty is updated in their database but how can I beleive when I can't see this on warranty lookup section of the Lenovo official website. I have also attached the screen shot of warranty lookup page as of today (22 June 2017). Issue#2I registered for 2 year warranty extension under Back To School offer (Ticket Number - ADP-BTS-025399) on www.buyalenovo.com and made a payment of INR 999/- on 6th May 2017. On 10th May, i received an email confirming the receipt of payment and in the same email, it was mentioned that warranty certificate will be mailed to me within 7 bussiness day, but till the date I've not received any warranty certificate, I've sent so many emails in last one week, but I didn't receive any reply to any email. We have a case whereby the base warranty was expired end of 2017 (S200 MT10HQ) , but we have the invoice of june 2018.Now the service partner says, sorry no warranty as it have been expired, the warranty does not start from the end users date of purchase.Is there an warranty law for this in the EU or with Lenovo? We had similar cases with HP probooks which all was excepted with the date of invoice and not base warranty.

Warranty starts with date of purchase.  You just have to register with Lenovo that you have wrong start date.  I had to do same thing with my niece's laptop.  See below website.  I just had to upload the purchase receipt to get the warranty start date corrected.  Hope the below helps.

Hi! I have really stupid situation. I have returned my laptop to lenovo dealer three times. 1. replaced Touchpad and WiFi adapter. 2. Motherboard & Wifi antenna. 3. Service dealer said that it is all correct and need reinsatll windows OS. But I have 7 days remaining warranty,  thats why they canceled repair. Problem is same: KERNEL POWER 41 critical error. As I know it is motherboard defect. It causes laptop shutting down! Hello, Earlier this year I had my laptop repaired due to issues with the touchscreen and mouse. My warranty then expired in the middle of this year. Now the hinges/cover that were removed to replace the screen are failing. (I also noticed that the cover clips were significantly damaged during the repair when it popped off) Do I have any options here to get this repaired? This was something they had to touch to do the earlier repair and something I could not touch under normal circumstances. Does anyone have any experiance with this? I can't find a good way to contact the warranty department due to my warrenty being expired.

Hi, In August 2016 I have bought Probook 450 G3. Recently, I used HP Support Assistant to check my laptop's warranty status,and have found out that the warranty has expired on 2017/01/02, less than five months after purchase,although this laptop's warranty should've been valid for 1 year. I followed the link "How to dispute your warranty" from HP Support Assistant, and tried to dispute the warranty as advised by the tutorial from the aforesaid web page, but the option "Dispute this" was missing. Could anyone advise how to dispute the warranty details? Thanks in advance!

System is a dell studio xps 435mt/ os 7 premium/ I7 CPU/ 8 gigs of ram/ ati video card just replaced 3 months ago/ hitachi deskstar 500g hd/power supply delta 360w.

Had no error messages. Was running fine, it had a few glitches but nothing serious. I attempted to power up the system but nothing , it has power the green light is on for the power supply.. I get one amber light when i press the power button on front panel, and one flicker of the red light on the video card.

This system is only 2 years old. The warranty expired on it's second birthday, which was the day after the warranty ran out.

Hello, I have a precision 5520 with a SSD M.2 and I'm thinking of adding a second HDD in the free slot. I've read an old post about this procedure and, in theory, there aren't any warranty issues if I simply remove the new HDD when I will send the laptop to Assistence. Can you confirm that?

Correct.  There are only two things to be aware of here:
- The Dell warranty won't cover the 2nd hard drive since you're purchasing it yourself. The only possible exceptions are that if you buy it from Dell, it may come with its own warranty, and sometimes products purchased through Dell specify that when used in/with a Dell system, the product inherits the system's warranty.
- If you break anything on the system while installing the second drive yourself, that damage would obviously not be covered by your system warranty.

Hi! I have a quick question, my laptop came with a mechanical hard disk which i would like to replace with a solid state.The problem is that there is a sticker saying "Warranty void if label tampered with or removed" covering one of the screws. I bought my Yoga 510 14IKB from UAE, and now I'm in India. So in 5 months of purchase I realise that the hard disk is defective, and my laptop is not covered under International Warranty. Now Lenovo India knows "nothing" about my laptop ( their  reply as I interpret  . Lenovo UAE sends me a list of service centres, and I contact one , they say contact the vendor. Vendor says that sending my hard disk alone,  as I suggested , cannot be done,  need to send the whole laptop.  Does Lenovo provide shipping because it's still covered under warranty?  Can / how do I avail the courier / depot service ?

contact who you purchased it from and see what they can do. they should have records of the transaction. if you purchased it with a charge card you could contact them also for any record of the purchase.

lastly contact the manufacturer and see what they can do. some things go back there anyway i think

Hi, I want to buy a manufacturer refurbished T580. It is under 1-year depot warranty now. I want to take it and use in Europe. On the one hand, refurbished products seem to be eligible only to warranty in country of purchase which is USA in my case. On the other hand, when I enter the serial number to https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/cy/en/iwslookup, it lists many available for service countries and states: 'All ThinkVision products are entitled to International Warranty Services.' (whatever it means).Also, page 'Your System & Warranty Status' gives me an opportunity to buy International Upgrade (whatever it means). Please help me to clarify if this laptop can be serviced under warranty beyond USA? If the current warranty does not cover it, can I buy an upgrade that will allow servicing the laptop in some European country? Thank you,Sergey
