Greyed out Enable Advanced Print Features option in advanced printing tab

Q: Greyed out Enable Advanced Print Features option in advanced printing tab

I just recently upgraded to Windows 10 and now my printer is not allowing me to "enable advanced printing features" in the printer properties under the advanced tab. The box is checked however it is grey'd out and not even an option for
selecting and deselecting. Neither Dell nor HP support had any idea how to correct this issue. Can someone please help me with this issue?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

When I plug in the headset the plug and play pop-up shows Audio system event. I selected Microphone (selections were microphone, line in or open Sigma Tel Audio Control Panel). I've updated the driver for the audio card also. When I went to control panel and tried to adjust the Advanced Setting for the Microphone it is greyed out and set at the lowest level (OFF). I'm trying to use the headset with the Windows XP Phone Dialer that is built in so that I can answer incoming calls from my landline utilizing the headset and microphone.

Hi all,

I have 2 hard drives in a Raid 0 configuration. On this configuration, I have 2 partitions, C and D. C currently has Vista on it.

booted from win 7 64bit disk. Select Custom. Select advanced options and highlight the C partition. All of the advanced options are greyed out (format, delete, etc).

If I select the D partition, all the advance options are available, but obviously I don't want to install to the D drive.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why the options are greyed out on my C partition? could it have to do with the Raid 0? It came from Dell like this.

ran sfc /scannow said every thing fine at 98%--

so I reinstalled Vista--- same thing---
found 1 thing on Google about may need SP1--
so went ahead & installed eithernet driver---
for some reason just as soon as I opened internet explorer-- Windows Update put little
Icon by the time--but still couldn't open Windows Update.
let it do what it wanted--- finaly pop up said to restart.

after restart Vista acts like its back to normal---
installing Vista SP1 stand alone download now---

this is very weird-- never happened before with regular harddrives---

luckuly windows must have had a patch for this problem

A:lost all advanced features after restart

Vista is not aware of SSD's or what needs to be disabled when it's installed on SSD's to keep performance up and to keep the wear down. You must disable several things or use a tweak utility to do it for you, here's one: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4926-ssd-tweaker.html

You should update to SP2, the Platform Update, and all other updates as quickly as possible to get Vista patched and optimized. Then apply the SSD tweaks.

I have a Jetway N2GAP motherboard with an nvidia nForce2 integrated graphics processor. In the Advanced Chipset Features section of the BIOS, the settings that I am concerned with and their current values are listed below (the other values that the setting can be changed to are shown in the brackets next to each value of the specific setting):

Internal VGA Share Memory: 64M (8M, 16M, 32M, 64M, 128M, Disabled)
AGP Aperture Size: 64M (32M, 64M, 128M, 256M, 512M)
AGP 8X Support: Enabled (Disabled)
AGP Fast Write: Enabled (Disabled)
System BIOS Cacheable: Enabled (Disabled)
Video RAM Cacheable: Enabled (Disabled)

I have a 1GB of RAM, and am running Window XP SP1. What would be the optimal values that I can use for the above settings when I want to get better video and game performance?

Any help will be greatly appreciated,

A:Help with Advanced Chipset Features for N2GAP board

If you want really good game performance go out and buy an AGP video card. While the board has fairly good integrated graphics they are still several generations behind a decent AGP video card like the Geforce 6600GT or Radeon 9800PRO.

But to answer your question:
Internal VGA Share Memory: 128M - this will reduce your 1024MB of RAM to 896 MB
AGP Aperture Size: 256M
AGP 8X Support: Enabled
AGP Fast Write: Enabled
System BIOS Cacheable: Disabled
Video RAM Cacheable: Disabled

A:can't open firewall with updated advanced features

This could be something as simple as the firewall service having been turned off, and then all you need to do is go into the services section and enable it, make sure it's set to automatic at that.

However, how is it that you know your system is not infested with some sort of malware? A very common tactic of malware is to disable firewalls and other protection programs.

In other words, most of tabs for thise pannel are shown in greyed-out.
COM+ applications are vital for the security of all system, so I need to manage those.

Could you show me how resolve this issue, by Services component tool and with Regedit?
I'm the administrator of Pc and I run all administrative tools as Administrator.

Is it possible the solution is about user priviliges, maybe in Regedit or what else?

I need to manage ALL services on my PC for security.

(Moreover, I tried to close manually, by Win firewall, the ports for the services in grey out, but it's impossible to do. Seems the firewall rules are ineffecctive. On network
monitor, indeed, in the section of listening port, on descriprion appears something like that: impossible to firwalled it.

I'm quitly worried about this.

I read somewhere, the solution it could be running as System in my Pc but for Home Edition I cannot understand how to do that.)

Any idea?

Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone knows how to remove this major anoyance...

Advanced DHTML Enable (a string value I found in regedit under windows\currentversion\run) is running files that are being created in my temporary folder called [three random numbers].exe that freezes my computer.

when I delete Advanced DHTML Enable from my registry it recreates itself in acouple hours!!

I've managed to stop my computer from stuffing up but the exe's still run as processes in task manager... when I end the processes they come back in around 4+ hours

I got a program (Antispyware) and it found "infected" files EVERYWHERE in my registry so I had a look through and found a script in windowsnt\currentversion\winlogon

called Taskman that runs the following: C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-3459142355-4889385363-257549498-6152\wingn.exe

I googled that and it comes up as malware... Ive tried every way of removing this problem possible (the file wingn.exe isnt in the directory taskman seems to be running it from)... malwarebytes cant remove it (doesnt even find it)

any help or advice to removing ADVANCED DHTML ENABLE from my system would be great

thanks in advance

Update: Just realised Advanced DHTML Enable has been removed temporarily and only appears at startup or over a 10+ hour period

Hi, I have a problem with Windows 8.1.
I have used 'Advanced Startup Option' and 'System Restore' a few weeks ago and everything worked fine.
Yesterday, I tried to log in to Windows and typed password and Windows said the password is incorrect. Hence, I now cannot log in to my computer.
I tried to use 'Safe mode', so I have pressed 'Shift' + 'Restart' (from this log in screen) to enter 'Advanced Startup Option' menu. There I can navigate through menu, but when I get to the screen where I want to use 'System Restore' or 'System Refresh' or even start computer in 'Safe mode' or 'Debugging mode', the system reboots itself and I am back to my login screen where password doesn't work.
Has anyone any idea why is that and how to correct this? Thank you very much for your help!

Hi I am posting this for a friend, his advanced boot menu pops up every time his laptop is started even though it shuts down correctly. Windows 7 OS, It is up to date Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

A:Windows 7 advanced boot option

Ask your friend to go Start - type msconfig - press Enter and under the General tab that Normal startup is checked and/or under the Boot tab that Safe boot is unchecked.

If they are as they should be, then select Repair your Computer when in the Advanced boot mode and navigate to the Recovery Environment to select Startup Repair.

If that returns that it is unable to auto repair then run the Startup Repair another twice to see if that resolves.

Let us know if either msconfig or the Startup Repair fail to resolve.

You say "photos, music, and Internet Explorer favorites".

You don't need Easy Transfer to move that stuff around. I'd think it would be an unnecessary complication for that purpose.

Are you locked into Easy Transfer and no longer have direct access to the original copies or backups of those 3 things?

Hi I seen that this should be ticked on other forums but just wanted make sure here as this forum seems to no what your doing more and seems more legit. But does PCI lock need to be ticked or un ticked in boot advanced option. I no that leaving number of processors and maximum memory un ticked uses auto but if I chose to use all 8 processors my self and maximum memory could this improve system just incase auto not using them all or working right?.

Main question though is PCI Clock.

A:PCI lock boot advanced option?.

PCI lock or clock? very confusing post.

If that option is what I am thinking is, then do not mess with it unless you want to risk burning your PCI-e devices/corrupt hard disk

Default clock is 100Mhz, and almost only increased by experienced overclockers sometimes to ensure stability. Most of the time it is manually set to 100Mhz so it doesn't scale with FSB (Front Side Bus) speed.

I am not a overclock person though, (I will ask help regarding this in due time) so if I am wrong friends will correct.

I have a HP Pavilion notebook. A bit older I think. It had built in windows Vista Home Premium. Somehow my hard disk crashed and I bought a new one. But today I needed to restore my computer to a previous restore point. Every time I press F8 to get to the advanced boot option I see everything is okay except the "repair your computer" option. Somehow the "repair your computer" option disappeared. I tried ctrl+F11 button and the F11 button too. F11 button worked for my previous vista home premium but for Win-7 it's the F8 key. Can anyone help me with this please? How may I get the "repair your computer" option back? Is there any way to edit advanced to boot option to get that option back? I would be needing it in case of system image recovery. Please I don't want to reinstall the O/S once again. Please somebody help me.

I have run several online virus programs (clean) as well as Spybot S&D, Malwarebytes, and Windows Defender and they all come out clean.

I think this is a configuration issue rather than malware.

Has anyone else expierienced this and know a cure?

System Config:
Vista Home Ultimate (32 bit)
Parental Controls On

After reinstalling I ran the Java "Test" on the Java site and here are the results:

I've seen a tutorial before that if you're using a Processor to check on "Number of Processors" and select 2 supposedly it helps booting up into Windows faster.

How about the "Maximum Memory"?
Do you think it'll help if I used all the memory to boot Windows?

and if not, what do you think it's good for?

A:Boot Advanced Option (Maximum Memory)

Those options are present for testing configuration options (software testing, driver testing, debugging).

Any reference to setting these options to aid in booting or increasing system performance is nonsense.

The settings are there to limit performance, not to increase it.

Ok, this is one of the reasons I REALLY hate Windows 10. When I go to the RECOVERY menu get to ADVANCED SETTINGS the only option is to RESTART NOW.......there is NO SUB-MENU to choose USB BOOT, NO CD BOOT, no option to boot into UEFI...ETC....how do I fix????

A:LOST troubleshooting option, advanced settings

You might want to try clicking on restart now. You might be surprised at the result.

I hope I uploaded an attachment which shows a screen shot of how an advanced boot screen should look, but you likely know anyways (http://b2b.cbsimg.net/gallery/6253822-512-384.jpg). Mine looks identical except for one row / option missing. "Repair your computer". This is the row that I need to proceed with the system recovery option using an image I created on an external hard drive.

Question: Is there a way to get to the screen which has the "repair your computer" row available?
