Multiple Google Crome threads running that can not end.

Q: Multiple Google Crome threads running that can not end.

I have about 12 Crome Google threads running in Task Manager Processes. When I end one another starts. My CPU is running at 90 % to 100 %. Does anyone know how I can end whatever program is running that keeps spawning Crome Google processes? I have Windows 8 OS. Thanks in advance!

Preferred Solution: Multiple Google Crome threads running that can not end.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:Bottle Neck When running Google Crome With Core i3 2nd Gen

I have a computer that has 2 GB of RAM at 1066 MHz which is 1 yr. old, when I use google chrome, firefox and CS5 at the same time it only uses 61-65% memory, its weird that you only have one page open on chrome and it uses 200 MB memory, Are your browsers up to date? If not update it. I think it has something to do with your RAM, probably you have a memory leak from what I know. What are the extension and add-ons in your chrome that is using that much RAM? I have 32-bit W7 when its idle it uses 20% memory.

Chrome is not a file browser - which is what you appear to be using it for.
You should use Windows Explorer ('Computer' NOT Internet Explorer) for browsing files on your own computer.

I'm running a laptop with Win 8 & Google Crome and like the software to save my passwords which it is doing except for Gmail. It will not save them. Matter of fact the option box does not even pop up for me to try and save them. It will work for all other sites so is there a setting somewhere that I need to change to allow ALL passwords to be saved. If there is I can't find it and it's driving me nuts because I have to check my accounts numerous times each day. " Offer to save passwords I enter on the web " is selected in the Crome settings.

A:Opens 6 windows when click on internet (google crome)

Do you mean tabs or windows?
If tabs...
Close all but the tab with the URL you want to open as your start window.
In the upper right, (below the [x] to close Chrome),
you will see an icon that is three horizontal bars.
Click this. (Left click!)
Go down to "settings" (near the bottom of the list), Left Click.
It will open a new tab.
In the second section (On Startup) you will see three options.
The third is "Open a specific page or set of pages".
Left click the link to "set pages"
Left click the button that says "use current pages"
and your current "list" will clear and become only the tab you have open.
HTH.

Two days ago, my laptop running Windows Vista became injected with a trojan (FakeAlert!grb), and although that was removed, I now seem to have problems with a Google redirect virus, which is also affecting Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. In addition, iexplorer is running multiple hidden copies in the background (seen through Task Manager). I have tried several of the tutorials (e.g., Rkill, Kapinsky TDSS Killer, Malwarebytes and others, but nothing is working.

I am incredibly frustrated at not making any progress getting this off my laptop, so any help would be incredibly appreciated!!!

I have the google redirect virus. It also sometimes opens a new browser window to a random site. Once I realized I had a problem I tried to system restore, but all the points before the day of infection were inaccessible. Also I have many mshta.exe files running in the process window. I have run my McAfee virus scan and found nothing. Next I ran Mbam and SuperAntispyware and both found a few things but I still have the problem. I tried starting in safe mode to run Super but I receive Keyboard malfunction when I use the F8 key. So I am unable to run in safe mode. I have done all the steps in the preparation guide and created some logs for gmer and dds. Thanks for the help in advance. Attached is the dds. log, attach.txt, and ark.txt file.

Hello,

I'm trying to repair my parents computer. They were getting Trojan horse warning messages and crashing to blue screens. So far I have updated the BIOS and uninstalled all the browser addons and questionable apps I found on there PC. Since updating the BIOS it hasn't crashed to blue screen. However I'm getting a lot of lywqyjla.exe processes that say they belong to Google Chrome. I uninstalled Google Chrome and they are still there. Each of them is using varying amounts of memory and the CPU usage keeps spiking. I have run malware bytes and adw cleaner, each of them said they found and removed threats but these processes keep showing up.

Welcome to BC !

Run a scan using RKill. Read its description as to what it does. Once you have successfully run the scan, DO NOT reboot.
Proceed with the other scans. Reboot if the MBAM or other scans ask you to.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here
Double-click mbam-setup-2.X.X.XXXX.exe to install the application (X's are the current version number).

Once MBAM opens, when it says Your databases are out of date, click the Fix Now button.
Click the Settings tab at the top, and then in the left column, select Detections and Protections, and if not already checked place a checkmark in the selection box for Scan for rootkits.
Click the Scan tab at the top of the program window, select Threat Scan and click the Scan Now button.
If you receive a message that updates are available, click the Update Now button (the update will be downloaded, installed, and the scan will start).
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
If potential threats are detected, ensure that Quarantine is selected as the Action for all the listed items, and click the Apply Actions button.

One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan.

This type of infection allows hackers to remotely control your computer, log keystrokes, steal critical system information, and download and execute files without your knowledge.

If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

Please read this: How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud, and CC Fraud?

Please note that these fixes are not instantaneous. Most infections require more than one round to properly eradicate.

Hello -
A customer of mine brought their personal laptop to me to look into why large amounts of data are being used up on their Verizon Hotspot.  This is a Windows 7 Home Premium laptop.  I ran multiple virus scans including ComboFix and Malwarebytes that returned zero results.  I then noticed in Task Manager that there were multiple processes running that belonged to Google Chrome.  I then verified that Chrome is not even installed.  I found the running .exe file in the \userprofile\appdata\locallow\Google directory.  Rebooted into 'Safe Mode' and then removed the folder and then scanned the registry for the same .exe name and removed them as well.  I then restarted the pc and the files reappeared, this time in the Adobe directory rather than Google.  I repeated the steps above with the same results.  Would you please help me with removing this virus?  Thank you.

MiniToolBox (Log below)
AdwCleaner (nothing)
Malwarebytes (nothing)

RKill (nothing)
ComboFix (nothing)
TDSSKill through Kaspersky (no files found)

I have also carried out an Internet Explorer Optimization and a system restart with a boot log but cold not find any suspicious files.

I ran DDS, but it doesn’t look like its accessing the file system. I am an administrator on this computer, but when I attempt to download anything now from Internet Explorer, I get a Security Alert " Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded." I reset IE and it allows me to download the programs, but I still can’t run them. Hope this helps! Seems like I have a full blown infestation. L

We religiously track Windows Application fault events in our environment.

Recently we have noticed that when, Word 2013 x86 version (15.0.4823.1000, 15.0.4805.1001) running on Windows 8.1 x64,  crashes due to corrupted heap, we find suspended winword process that have no running threads.  the ccorrupt heap crashes are of
the type  exception c0000374 in Ntdll.dll at offset 0x000e6054.  We have two different situations in which we can trigger a crash that will produce the corrupted heap.

The problem is after the App crash the Windows Error Reporting service, attaches the WerFault.exe to the crashed process and saves the WER Dump file.  The problem is after this process is finished we are left with Winword.exe process that are in suspended
state.  They are not visible in the TaskManager but they show-up in Procexp,  these process have no running threads and the End task or end task tree have no impact.  The only way to exit the suspended process is to log off the user session.

The suspended Winword.exe process cause problems when we re-launch a clean word, we have an add-in that detect's the suspended Winword and will not run.

On a test machine we disabled the WER service and of course we no longer see suspended threads, this is not an option for use because stopping the WER service stops logging of all Application Fault event ID 1000 and Application hang 1001 entries from the Application
log.

Hi there, thanks for viewing this.

Recently, my internet explorer 7 and firefox has been running quite slowly. After googling a bit, I found out that this problem could be caused by the iexplore.exe virus.

Many iexplore.exe was running in the processes tab of the Windows task manager when my internet browsers were not in use. This may have caused the slowness.

Hi and welcome to TSF.

My name is Iain and I will be helping you clean your system.

You may wish to Subscribe to this thread (Thread Tools > Subscribe to this thread) so that you are notified when you receive a reply.

Please read these instructions carefully and then print out or copy this page to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out the fix. You should not have any open browsers or live internet connections when you are following the procedures below.

Note that the fix may take several posts. Please continue to respond to my instructions until I confirm that your logs are clean. Remember that although your symptoms may vanish, this does NOT mean that your system is clean.

If there is anything you don't understand, please ask BEFORE proceeding with the fixes.

Please ensure that you follow the instructions in the order I have them listed.

Please do not install or uninstall any programmes, or run any other scanners or software, unless I specifically ask you to do so. Also please copy and paste logs into the thread, rather than add them as attachments.

I'd like to see a Gmer log please.

Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here to your desktop. It will be a randomly named executable. Before scanning, make sure all other running programs are closed and no other actions like a scheduled antivirus scan will occur while the scan is being performed. Do not use your computer for anything else during the scan.

Hello-

The laptop I am writing about is a work laptop, with Kaspersky running on it.  I noticed a few days ago it was starting to lag.  I checked Task Manager, and saw multiple (6-12 occurences) "qmsewbkion.exe*32" processes running, under the description of "Google Chrome", which is not installed on the laptop.  I ran ADWcleaner and seemingly got rid of the "qmsewbkion.exe*32", but now I have multiples of a few other commonly used .exe's running with the *32 out to the side.  This is a 64-bit machine, and I don't remember having that many 32-bit applications constantly running.  My memory drain is always around 40-50% with hardly anything running.  HELP!  Thanks very much!

I was wondering whether there's a way to move my database (on Google Gears) from one user account to another (on the same computer), and whether there's also a way I can do that from one computer to another (from my desktop to netbook, for instance)?

I'm having internet connection issues (plenty in fact):

My modem (LAN and Wi-Fi) probably died of old age (or over-heating) or it got struck by lightening;
I've been getting thunderstorms in my area (meaning I'll have to unplug a lot and lose plenty of online work time);
My USB dongle won't work on my Guest account and I can't seem to give it any admin rights on Vista.
So it's just terrible that I'm stuck with one computer (a Windows Vista desktop--meaning it constantly needs to be plugged-in) during these times. I'd like to be able to move them on my Windows 7 netbook or to accounts where the USB dongle works.

I have win7 64 Bit and I did have Google Crome for my Browser.

I got rid of Crome and got FireFox and all works good.

But every time I go on the Web I have a Big Ad in the top let side of the Browser that asks me to get Google Crome and it has OK tab and Tell Me Latter Tab.

So I click the   X  to close it.

But if I go offline and then come back it is up there again.

And every time I go offline and back to my Desktop I see a Google Crom Shortcut.

So I scan with MailWare Bytes  and Win ESANT.  and both came up clean.

Can anyone help I hope this has happened to somebody?
