Personal Info and Old Email Mssgs Attached to Outgoing Email

Q: Personal Info and Old Email Mssgs Attached to Outgoing Email

Hi! I'll try to keep this as brief as possible, but it's really difficult to explain. One of my email buddies (fortunately he's an honest person) recently told me that any email I send him, from both my home and work computers, has a ton of garbled info attached to the end of the email... The info includes previous emails I've sent to other people, cell phone bill details, shopping details - ANY and EVERYTHING I do online is connected to my emails to him. It doesn't matter what email I use... My Outlook account at work, Gmail, Aol, RR... it all attaches info to EVERY email I send to him. Even the "Read Receipt" he receives when I click on one of his emails has info attached to it. !?!?!?!!! IT'S EXTREMELY DISTURBING! And he also receives info from my family members who use my computer at home, so it's not just MY info he's receiving.

I do know that he is on a "Whitelist" with the company he works for (for a very important reason), so he's not bound to the security that everyone else is protected by. He's had his computer restaged twice and it still keeps happening. He uses Outlook and it happens with his desktop AND his laptop at work.

I thought about talking to my IT Helpdesk at work, but haven't yet since this is happening from EVERY computer I use, so I know it's not a specific computer issue. Is there, perhaps, something that my friend has done, without my knowing, to gain access to my personal info? He adamently denies it, but I'm skeptical. Have you ever heard of this happening and how can I make it stop?! HE SEES EVERYTHING I DO ONLINE... WHO'S TO SAY THAT SOMEONE ELSE ISN'T SEEING THE SAME???

Again, so sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for your insight!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Got an email today from an online retailer that I never heard of about a fictional order with a link to check the details.
Of course these are quite common but in this case they have my full name, cellphone number, and a previous address.
Should I be worried about this? Is there anything I can do?

A:Email spammer has personal info

Welcome to BC...
A bit late to be concerned about your info being on the web. You made a huge error in even opening the email. Now, most likely, the spammer
knows he has a valid email address to spam due to a beacon hidden in the email. Clicking on links in emails or opening attachments are dangerous, too.
NEVER open an email from unknown source and NEVER open an attachment unless you are 100% sure of what it contains.
That info could of been gotten from numerous sources.

I recently changed to comcast cable internet. I can send and receive mail at my earthlink.net email. However, I cannot send to someone at an "rcullen.com" email address. I have NEVER had this problem with this domain.

I went over all settiings with comcast and they are correct.

Does anyone know how to UNBLOCK an email address from not being able to be sent to? Or, is there a setting or workaround so that i can send from comcast to the rcullen.com email address?

Comcast has not told me it is blocked, but I can think of no other reason and I've read that they randomly block TONS of email domains for "spam" purposes.

Anyone else have a solution to this? Thanks!

I wasn't sure where to post this, so please move, if it needs to be elsewhere.

I've got a windows 98 machine that refuses to send out email. I have tried Incredimail, OE, and Netscape, but all crash when I try to send email. "This program has perfromed and illegal opertaion and will be shut down".(or something of that sort)

I can get mail from anywhere but can never send. I have talked with my ISP several times, but they are pretty much out of options. They insist that the account is finem, and I do believe them. There web based email system works fine for me to send and recieve.

Things I've tried so far: IE repair tool, re-creating accounts, two new installs of Incredimail, upgrade of IE, deleted outbox files, and not to mention trying three different email programs.

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

A:outgoing email closes all email programs

very odd problem...

is it possible to start windows 98 in safe mode and try it there?

There must be some sort of conflict. This may sound strange but on one of the email program forums I read that they recommended a user update his/her video drivers when they reported win98 crashing while sending mail.

Try safe mode first.

As the title says, I use Microsoft Outlook '07 to access my Roadrunner and AOL POP accounts. If I send email from either account to one particular friend who uses windstream.net, and accesses his mail through Windstream's web mail page, it disappears without any trace that I can find. Not only doesn't he receive my newly composed messages, but he does not receive my direct replies either. That rules out a misspell. There is no evidence other contacts are not receiving my emails. I first thought maybe he had me blocked, however if I go to either of my two accounts' web based email pages, he receives my messages just fine.

And I always receive his emails. The only odd thing that might be a clue is that, since this began, about half of the email he sends me now, whether I view them in Outlook or on the web, is in plain format with system fonts. Sometimes they come to me in HTML.

I never get any delivery failure notification either. The last time he got one of my emails is when I sent out a July monthly newsletter to about a hundred people including him. I usually get the same few failure notifications because some of our members' addresses have changed or can't be found... the usual reasons, and I need to update my distribution list. But he got that letter in July, and that's the last time I've been able to send him anything through Outlook on either AOL or Roadrunner. But both of those ISPs always deliver mail to him if I use their respective web pages to send it. What could... Read more

it say's "This group of folders is associated with an email account. To remove the account, click the File Tab, and on the Info tab, click Account Settings. Select the e-mail account and than click Remove."
Then I tried a lot of times to remove my email and back again, it is still there. I also removed the additional mailboxes in the screenshot below.

Can't send email.
I can receive it just fine.

I installed McAfee Antivirus Plus 2010 about a week ago.
No problems, except this one.

When I try to send email, I get the following error:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Comcast Online', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I read a bunch of suggestions online and the only thing that made sense was to change the port.
Multiple suggestions said to change the port from 25 to 587.
I tried it and it didn't work.
After I changed it to 587, I got the following error message:
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was '[email protected]'. Subject 'test', Account: 'Comcast Online', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.1.0 Authentication required', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Any idea what might be going on?

I'm a third party to this issue, and I've got limited details available, but here is the general problem.

A friend of my wife is trying to email her. When my wife gets the email, it is just jibberish (looks like html, but doesn't display that way in the email client). This same friend can email me or others, and the email comes through just fine. If I look at the email send to my wife directly on the ISPs server it is indeed corrupted.

Looking at the email headers, I see that the friend is emailing me using "Charset = Windows-1252", while the email to my wife lists "Charset = Unicode". Suspect that may be the problem.

Also from the headers, it appears the friend is using Microsoft Mail. Is there somewhere in MM phone book where the outgoing encoding could have been inadvertently changed? Any tutorials that show how to change the outgoing encoding in Microsoft Mail for a specific contact?

A:outgoing email prob

Just what size is the attached picture?

OE has a setting that will split the attachment into smaller pieces, so they can be accepted by email systems with size restrictions.

But 50 splits would indicate that you are trying to send an unreasonable size of attachment?

From OE Help:

To send large messages

Many e-mail and news servers limit the size of the messages you can receive and send. Usually this limit is one megabyte (1 MB) per message, including all attached files.

With Outlook Express, you can send large messages or files to e-mail and news servers that have size limits, by breaking the messages into smaller ones. When the group of messages is received, the e-mail program combines them into one message.

On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
On either the Mail or News tab, click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, select the Break apart messages larger than x KB check box and then enter the maximum file size the server will allow.

I am encountering a problem where my ZoneAlarm Firewall will not allow me to send emails with attachments larger than 1Mb (smaller attachments send ok). I use to run BlackIce defender without problems but it was over two years old so I uninstalled it and installed the free ZoneAlarm Firewall (v5.5).
Ever since, when I try to send an email with a large attachment,
the red and green ZoneAlarm indicator bars light up like they are supposed to next to the clock in the lower right corner and my cable internet gateway and modem show internet activity for the message being sent.
However after a period of time, the ZA banner comes back up in the taskbar, and internet activity quits as the leds' on the modem quit blinking even though my outlook express (v6.0) still says "sending message". About 30 seconds later I get an error message saying: "server connection terminated, socket error: 10054, Error Number 0x800CCC0F".
I uninstalled v5.5 and installed ZoneAlarms free 6.0 firewall but I still get the same problem. ZoneAlarm is acting like the firewall is timing out and closing the conncetion before the message can be completely sent.
If I shutdown the firewall, I can send the same message again without error so ZoneAlarm is definitely the culprit, (however that defeats the purpose of having a firewall). I have configured the firewall to allow the IP address on my gateway and internet server as well as grant access for Internet Explorer (v6.0) and Outlook Exp... Read more

We have an SBS 2008 Network with Exchange 2007. I've had to reset our Linksys RV082 router to factory settings and and reconfigured all the settings(IP/Subnet/Gateway/DNS). I also made sure that all incoming traffic was coming through our domain controller's IP(which host AD in exchange 2007).

Users are able to send/receive mail internally but nothing from outside the LAN. I checked via telnet and via the following website: http://canyouseeme.org/ to see if port 25 was open, but it was closed.

What am I missing? Plz help.

A:No incoming/outgoing email on exchange 2007 from outside LAN

All of a sudden I can't copy and paste a clickable link to outgoing email using Firefox or Chrome. The links display as plain text. Not underlined and not blue.

I can still send clickable links in IE though. (I primarily use Chrome) I've been copy and pasting links the same way for years and I haven't done anything different.

The weird part is that this happened on my desktop and laptop on the same day.

(I'm 53 years old and just barely computer literate, so please be patient with me)

A:Outgoing email links are no longer clickable

Hello Frodo. Have a look at this and see if it works for you.

I have been using IE6 and Outlook Express 6 for many months without problem. Starting from a couple of days ago I noticed that copies of outgoing mail were no longer being stored in my Sent Items folder, although the messages are sent out ok.
I have not intentionally changed any settings and would appreciate some help in restoring this function.
I use W2000 pro as my OS.

I moved yesterday and I am unable to send email through outlook express. I have never had this problem before. I have a new ISP that is Bellsouth. However, I can receive mail, but can't send. My mail is from the TDS POP3 server and in my email I have outgoing mail saying smtp.tds.net, as I use this email address the most. I can send and receive on my hotmail account. What is wrong? Does anyone have directions on how to fix this? I need help, as I need to be able to send through outlook.

A:I can't send outgoing Email on Outlook Express

You have to set the incoming and outgoing servers correctly for each address. BellSouth uses mail.bellsouth.net for the incoming server and mail.bellsouth.net for the outgoing server. Your outgoing server should not be smtp.tds.net for your BellSouth e-mail account. Do you still have a TDS ISP e-mail account? Or was it deactivated when you switched to BellSouth (which happens nearly all the time).

I'm using Outlook 2010.

I'm suffering from a control issue and looking for a solution:

Some people I send email to for THEM only take it upon themselves to edit my words and forward them on to others.

This is bad BUT is there a way in Outlook to prevent them from forwarding my messages?

No, but you can send the the message in a protected PDF file, and then the message it self could not be changed.
