X201 Integrated Camera

Q: X201 Integrated Camera

Hi, I have Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit and can't get the Skype and Camera apps to see the integrated camera. Skype for Desktop, Lync and Google Hangouts works, but not the apps. The driver installed is from Ricoh, 23/05/2011, 1.1.0.48. Has anyone got this working OK? Thanks Spencer

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad x201 laptop and I cannot get the integrated camera to turn on independent from Skype. It definitely works, I have used it several times with Skype, but I can't figure out how to turn it on outside of Skype.  I have tried the Fn+Esc and the Fn+F6 things, and quite frankly I'm not even sure if it applies to x201 laptops, but its definitely not working for mine. My laptop is refurbished and i just got it recently. Please can someone help me? Thanks in advance

A:X201 laptop integrated camera won't turn on

Welcome to the forum!

To get Fn+F6 working you need to download and install this package:

ThinkVantage Communications Utility  (Win7 and Vista versions, I assume one if these is installed on yours, right?)

Make sure to have Lenovo System Update's installed to get a list of all updated Lenovo specific drivers for your X201.

System Update 5.06

Hope this helps...

I have a Lenovo Flex 2. When I try to go on Skype for a video call, the integrated webcam doesn't work. I thought it was a driver problem at first, but I tried installing the following driver and it didn't work:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds031749

If anyone has any possible solutions to this problem, that would be much appreciated.

A:Integrated camera not working

Accoding to Lenovo you should be installing this one which is for Windows 10. Here is the one for 8/8.1

The links show two drivers. Pick the one that is correct for your CPU.

Hello, my webcam suddenly stopped functioning yesterday and when open an application that uses it the light next to the camera flashes. when I tested it in the camera app it threw me this error code: 0xa00f4244<nocamerasareattached>    ive tried updating/rolling back/reinstalling the drivers and nothing helped.

A:Integrated Camera not working

Computer model? OS? App?

Two quick things to try. Some Lenovo laptops have a camera hotkey. I cannot count the number of times I've accidentally hit that. If you have the hotkeys disabled, you'll need to press Fn + F8 (or whatever it is on your particular model, though I believe it's almost always F8. It really helps to know the model). It could be as simple as pressing the hotkey to turn the camera back on.

Windows Update 1803 introduced some new privacy settings that disable the camera by default. To adjust these - assuming you're using Windows 10.. it really helps to know these things - go to the new settings: Windows Key + I > Privacy > Camera.

If none of that helps, we'll have to dig deeper. You'll need to provide more detailed information.

Hello,I bought a Thinkpad E430 in June and have used it without trouble until October. My problem is the integrated camera. It worked fine when I bought the computer, but it stopped working. I was able to get it going again by reinstalling the driver, but it's stopped again and the driver isn't even being recognized when I install it and restart my computer. Most of my troubles are similar to this person's only I know that my computer was shipped with a camera: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-Edge-S-series/Help-with-an-E530-integrated-camera-that-can-t-be... When I open up web conferencing, it only gives me audio options and when I try to set it up with the device manager it only has the lexmark and xerox options.I tried to just f11 on startup and redo everything, but it gave me an error in doing that.

Can you pinpoint when/how the malfunction happened?
Did it happen suddenly or did it progessively get worse over time?

I ask to see if there is a point that we might be able to roll back to.

Were there any changes made before the camera stopped working?

Hi. Where can I change the property settings for an integrated camera? Specifically, where can I change the autofocus property?

I recently started using the camera built into my notebook (I don't have any other cameras). Sometimes the camera zooms in and out automatically. I'm told I can fix this by turning off autofocus. However, I can't find such a setting.

I opened Control Panel - View scanners and cameras. But that just gives me an empty window (see attachment). If I click "Scan Profiles", I get an error "No scanners were detected....". The Refresh button does nothing and the Add Device button is for adding a not-integrated device.

If I go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers, there is nothing camera related there. I don't know where else to look. Thanks for your help.

(Not sure if this is the right subforum. Sorry if it isn't.)

A:Turn off autofocus on integrated camera

The webcam settings should be available through a systray icon.
A right-click or double-click on that icon should lead you to video
settings where you would find an option to disable autofocus.

Typically, such settings would also be available thru the Start >
Programs menu.

My webcam recently started playing up and I've tried many supposedly 'solutions' and none have worked so far. I seen a post on here however and he had a similar problem and you guys managed to successfully help him but with a different Laptop and therefore different drives.

I pretty much only use my webcam for Skyping, and well, I need it.. and I don't want to fork out money for a USB webcam, since I HAVE ONE ON MY LAPTOP. So, here is the problem. It starts off when I realise it's stopped working and Skype tries to swap between the two options it has labelled under "webcam devices", these options are "HP Truevision" and "Cybercam webcam splitter". After I go into options to try change the webcam, which by the way it is still differentiating between the two, once every 2 seconds; windows also supplies me with audio telling me that this is happening and it happens to be the same noise which happens upon disconnecting and reconnecting my USB mouse. I have tried 'System Restore' multiple times, uninstalling both drivers and re-installing them, attempting to update the drivers (apparently they are), updated Skype and continuously searched the web to find a solution, alas... I have not . Also, in device manager, under the imaging devices tab, only a new driver shows up called 'SPCA2082', this shows up as the camera being on (notified by a little light beside the camera), but only shows a black screen. Hello, I've been having a problem with Windows 10 no longer detecting the integrated camera in an E545. This problem began several months ago, after one of the major windows 10 updates. I didn't notice it at first since I rarely used the camera, but it's always bothered me that it no longer functions or is detected. At first I tried installing the Windows 7, and later, the Windows 8 driver but all I got was the following message box: Realtek Bluetooth suite can't run on WindowsThis app may decrease PC security or performance. Check for an updated app that runs on this version of Windows. I was hoping that the new anniversary update would fix this problem (since that last one caused it) but it hasn't. The laptop has never been dropped so I doubt the problem is due to a loose wire or something along those lines. I've also tried a total Windows refresh and that didn't help either. Any help would be much appreciated - thanks!

Hi,  This is the same problem that I was facing previously (https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Lenovo-Y510P-Unsupported-for-Win-10-Camera-Driv...) and my PC just crashed (BSOD) as a result.  I've finally bought a USB webcam and no longer care about trying to make the integreated cam (built-in camera) work using some driver off the internet. As a result, to ensure that a corrupted webcam driver (rtsuvc.sys) doesn't keep crashing my PC and impacting on any other processes I want to diable the port from the BIOS itself so that even if I uninstall the driver now, it wont get re-installed after the PC scans for hardware changes. Just today my PC crashed again.
