Microsoft office preinstalled trail

Q: Microsoft office preinstalled trail

I have a new computer that came with "Microsoft Office" pre-installed with a trial version. Since I do not have a use for it, I uninstalled it. However, I keep getting notices that there are important security updates for 2007 Microsoft Office System available.
The question is: Are these upgrades for the same trial program I unistalled or have I made an error and they are something important to the operating system?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Updates for the OS are always labelled as such.

It sounds like the trial system left some bits and pieces lying around that are getting picked up by the update system. Check in your Add or Remove Programs to see if there's anything else pertaining to Office.

Have MS Office preinstalled when I got my hp convertible but how can I get product key for the activation?

A:Have preinstalled ms office but need product key

@Mohammadali1 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!First of all, you need to know that HP keeps no records of individual MS Office product keys associated with individual PCs. That means there is no way to obtain this information from HP.Second, ever since Office 2013, MS Office has been distributed in two different forms: (1) installed locally, (2) installed using Click-to-Run (CTR).  The local versions used a product key received with the purchase (or via email, from a download), the CTR versions used a product key received via email from MS, but it was NOT stored on the PC. If you have the Local version, you should be able to retrieve that key using these utilities:  https://www.lifewire.com/free-product-key-finder-programs-2625119 If you have the CTR version, the key is not stored locally, and you can only get it by contacting Microsoft.Good Luck

When I sent a message and when I was using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, I had an option that enabled me to add a photo following or preceding my text. This option enabled me to put a photo in the text area and place text under or above the photo explaining the photo. I am now running Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 using Windows Home Premium 64 bit and I cannot find this option. If this is no longer an option, how can I place a photo in the text area and then follow with text explaining the photo? If this is not possible, I guess this new version is a downgrade!
Thanks in advance and I will appreciate an answer.

After much messing around I have discovered that if you use Windows 7 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program' to set default programs for file types, it breaks the File Types selection within a given program (in my case Microsoft Office Picture Manager) and you are no longer able to use the program itself to set file types only the Windows 7 function. You can tick/untick file associations all day long within Microsoft Office Picture Manager and nothing gets associated/unassociated. The File Types option is basically broken. I have also noticed this occur with 7-zip which actually causes a more serious issue. By default .zip is not listed in the Windows 7 list of 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program' window but is listed if you associate .zip with 7-zip's own file association option. BUT if you then subsequently use windows 7 to re-associate .zip with Windows Explorer, the .zip vanishes (because by default is is not listed), breaks 7-zips file association options and you can no longer associate .zip files with 7-zip, EVER. Basically I am curious as to why Windows 7 own file association options would break software's own internal file association options so badly to the point they are essentially useless and if there is a fix. I even tried completely reinstalling Microsoft Office and removing all references of it within the registry, no luck. Its not a big deal but I just found it odd that a fundamental piece of Windows 7 would harm the integrit... Read more

I don't believe it has anything to do with Office 2007/ Picture manager I use it myself,
I do not use 7-Zip but that seems the likely bug,
Windows handles Zip folders just like any other folder so 7-Zip is something I don't understand why people need or want it but I don't need any or need to make any Zip folders either

Hi all

I am using Windows XP and office 2003. I am using Microsoft Office Picture Manager to view tif files.

PROBLEM:

1. I open a tif file.
2. I make an annotation change eg: Use the hightlighting tool to hightlight some text. Fine, no problem!
3. I save the document.
4. I close the document and try reopening it:

I get this error:

"The file selected is not a valid Microsoft Document Imaging file"

I recreated my Windows XP profile and this resolved the problem

That was two weeks ago........now the problem is back!

Any ideas?

I recently installed the Microsoft Office 2010 Beta, but this morning its intro screen stays stuck at "Starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run." Googling it resulted in only two threads, neither of them having the answer.

I'm back to using Office 2007, by simply setting my Word and Excel documents to open by Office 2007 by default, but now my Word and Excel icons have become much less pretty, such as my Word icons becoming a very plain "DOCX" icon instead of the normal "blue W" icon. I checked, and the file types are still regular Word documents. Is there a way to get the pretty icons back?

A:Office 2010 Problems: "Starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run" & Unattractive DOCX icons for Word documents.

Regarding changing the icon:
Go to either My Computer or Windows Explorer.
Click Tools, Folder Options, File Types tab.
Scroll down to the DOCX file type (file types are in alphabetical order), click on it one time to highlight it.
Click the Advanced button.
The "Edit File Type" screen appears.
There is a Change Icon button in the top right area.
Click the Change Icon button.
You should have other icon choices to pick from.
Side note: If you don't like any of those icons, you can always hit the Browse button,
and browse to where other icons are, (you can assign any icon to any file type that you want, it is a matter of personal preference).
Icons are found in .exe files (executables), some (not all) .dll (dynamic link library) files, and .ico files.

Ok, well up until yesterday my father was using Office 2000 with Microsoft binder for work. He just got a new laptop for work and he's got Office 2007 installed. From the looks of Microsoft's site it states that 'Microsoft Unbind is not included with Office 2007.' Looks like what I really need is Microsoft Binder from Office 2000. Is there a place I can download it (legally) or purchase it? He literally has thousands of binder files (*.obd) that he needs to be able to access. I've tried searching with nothing turning up.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

A:Microsoft Office Binder (*.obd files) with Office 2007?

So further searching turned up that Unbind for Office XP/2003 is just a waste of time for Office 2007 and no point in looking further into that.

So then I found this:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=822622

Which seems to me if I can track down a Office 2000 disc I should be able to install JUST Binder 2000. Results show that it works along side Office XP/2003 so I don't see why it wouldn't with Office 2007. It would only be used to unbind old files, not create new ones.

If anyone has any other thoughts that would be great.
I'll look into what I wrote above tomorrow and post back with the results if need be.

I'm using the Windows XP operating system and had Microsoft Office installed on it a while ago. All the applications were working fine when I first got it. Yesterday, when I tried to open Microsoft Excel I get the message that 'the feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available', and it asks me to insert the 'Microsoft Office 2000 Premium' disk and click ok. Unfortunately, I don't have this disk because it was someone else that installed Office on my computer for me. I don't understand why it's not letting me use Microsoft Excel and why I get this message from Windows Installer every time I try to use the application.

It was working fine not long ago and I've used it to make several spreadsheet files, all of a sudden for no apparent reason I'm getting this message every time I try to use it.

Can anyone give me any advice and has anyone had a similiar problem? I would appreciate any help.

A:Microsoft Excel help, keeps asking for 'Microsoft Office 2000 Premium' disk

When it was installed, some aspects will be "installed on first use", and now it wants to install the function, for which you need the CD.

You really cannot use it successfully (not to mention legally) if you do not own and have the disks.

Installed on my PC I have an old copy of Microsoft Office 2000. I use Word for my documents and made a spreadsheet on Excel for a game I play, other than that I have I have no knowledge of using the other features of this suite such as Access, Outlook or Powerpoint.

While downloading the latest Java update I noticed an ad for a freeware program called OpenOffice.org and after Googling it found that as far as I can see it is the same sort of thing as the Office 2000 suite only newer and probably more modern.

My question is, would the Open Office.org program be better than my outdated Office 2000 Suite and would I still be able to read my word documents etc using this program or would I have to keep Office 2000 as well.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice offered.

Microsoft Office 2010 is installed on my PC (Dell Studio XPS8100, Windows 7). Another member of the household has asked whether she can install Microsoft Works 9.0 on my PC, now that her PC is on its last legs. If Works 9.0 is installed onto my PC, would this cause problems for Office 2010, Works 9.0, and/or my PC? If so, are there workarounds? Thanks.

A:Microsoft Works 9.0 and Microsoft Office 2010 compatibility

The official "word" from Microsoft (pun intended) is that Office & Works can co-exist on the same PC.

Provided you do not intend to share documents between Office & Works (ie both suites will be used separately), there are no "workarounds" or special procedures you need to remember when using them.

A:Microsoft office standard office?

I believe that Powerpoint is part of MS Office. If you want to use the full Powerpoint application, you will need to register MS-Office. If you uninstall the whole MS-Office package it will also uninstall Powerpoint.

I also believe that Microsoft still offers a free Powerpoint player program that you can download for free. It will allow you to open and play a Powerpoint presentation file but not be able to modify it in any way.

Hello alpad,

When she saves the document to send to the professor, which format is she saving it in? If she saves it as the default .odt, Word won't be able to open it. In the small window by "Save as Type" she needs to click the arrow to cause the drop down menu to come up, then select the proper Word version to save it as. MS Word 95 (.doc)

There is also an XML version. The latest version of Open Office, version 3, is also compatible with MS Word 2007; however, I don't know how that appears in the drop down menu as I don't yet have that version of Open Office.

Once she has chosen the proper Word format, then she needs to save the document. This is the version she should submit to the professor.

I have downloaded the trail version of alcohol 120% but when the trail was over an msg pop out and noticed me that the trail is over, and then it asked me if I want to register for full version. I pressed no but I didn?t uninstall the program.
On the same day I were exploring the weird things I got on my computer, and then I saw an image file that?s in alcohol's file type association after a millisecond a msg box pop out and noticed me the exact same thing that it did when it told me that my trail is over. It was a little annoying but I pressed no.
After some time I ran into another image file, and walla. The same msg box, so I thought it will be with every image file that's in the alcohol's association so I decided to uninstall it.
after I have uninstalled it I restarted the computer (with the restart button on the case) after some time I ran into another image file, and again the msg box that tells me that my trail is over pop out... so I understood that it will popup all the time. So I changed the image file's program (open with...) to another program.
Now I don?t have any msg boxes every time I see an image file. But its still annoys me that there is something in my registry that have to do anything with alcohol 120% that I have uninstalled it.

So just wanted to know if there anything I can do to remove it completely from my system?

hey,
does anyoneknow and can tell me exactly what buttons to check or uncheck so that all info in the internet address bar remains gone, leaving no cache or history "trail"
if i highlight internet address bar and press any letter key, it will bring up this invisible list of websites i have visited..for privacy's sake, how can i avoid the list from popping up like that?
i tried erasing the history, temp internet files, cookies...and setting history for zero days. it helps hide info, but you can see some info if you highlight and pick a letter....
thanks for your time!

guyweeyo,

You can go to Tools-Internet Options and click on the Content tab. Click on the AutoComplete button and uncheck items you prefer. Click on Ok. You can also go to the Advanced tab and under the Security section, place a checkmark in "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed"

That should help.

I could not get the link to work. How about posting the specifications of your computer. Does it meet the minimum requirements of the game? Let us know the processor speed, amount of memory, type of video card and also if you have other games and if they work correctly or not.

Hi, I just downloaded the free trial version of Ho Chi Minh Trail, but when i click on the icon to start, in start menu or in its folder it dislpays the loading cursor, and then returns to normal - nothing happens.
When I press Alt-Ctrl-Del, it says Ho Chi Minh Trail is running though?

Thanks,
Kieran

PS Because its a free trial version, I assume its legal?

Right clicking my mouse while in ie6 presents a short list of sites and applications just above "properties". I've purged every record I can find and used Spybot S&D to go even farther, but the list remains. Anything I can do?
