I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

HI Guys, tried uninstalling office 2010 to open Outlook 2013 when I got the two following errors:

1: The resource that you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft exchange. Contact your email administrator for assistance.

2: Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Your Microsoft exchange administrator has blocked the version of Outlook that you are using. Contact your administrator for assistance.
Does anyone know what these two errors are referring to and how I can fix it so I can start using Outlook 2013?

Many thanks.

Hi,

I've read in many forums about Outlook/Office365 using a tremendous amount of bandwidth. I have an office with 10 heavy outlook users, half being delegates of the bosses that have HUGE mailboxes (~15GB) and that refuse to archive emails.

They have a 30M internet connection that seemingly is not enough and constantly makes their Outlooks "hang" when searching for delegated contacts or just sending and replying to emails with big attachments etc.

I just want to confirm that this is seemingly is the case and that it's nothing else weird. Does it sound right to you guys? I told them to get the max bandwidth they can get there, which is 50MB but they are at the point where they are grumpy and don't believe my advice to upgrade their connection.

Thanks,

K

So, can I install only Outlook 2013 (and BCM) alongside Office 2016, without removing/breaking either? Does anyone else have this setup working without issues?

Thanks!

Over the weekend we installed a new Exchange 2016 server running on a Server 2012 R2 Std VM (through Hyper-V) and connected all of our workstations running Outlook 2010 to it. They stay connected for awhile (maybe an hour or two) but then go to "Trying to connect." The really strange thing is, OWA works, email on phones works and connecting a computer outside of our network to Exchange through Outlook seems to stay connected fine.

DNS checks out fine and resolves like it should. We can ping and browse to the Exchange server fine.

Strange but I get several "Search" errors in the event log when it seems to stop. (Event ID 3036 the content source cannot be accessed) as well as Event ID 35 - Failed to determine if the store is in the crawl scope.

I am at a loss right now so any help would be appreciated!

Hello,

I have a very frustrating problem. I want to use Windows 2008 R2 Terminalserver with Outlook 2016.
Unfortunately every time a user starts Outlook, he installs the 64 bit Components. It seems there is one solution: Installing Windows Search Role and starting Outlook in Installation Mode.
Seems to work. With that solution, there is another problem: It is not possible to search in pst-files. Windows error log says event ID 3036. Looks like, Windows Search cannot index pst-files (in network). The possible solution to disable indexing for Outlook
does not work because the configuration change got reseted after relogin. This might happen because of our Roaming users.
As you can see, I have one problem. When Windows Search is installed, pst-files are not searchable. When Windows Search is not installed, Outlook 64 bit Components get installed every start of Outlook.

Is there anybody who has other ideas for a solution?

Thank you for your help.

Jens

Hi All
I'm continually doing the same thing in Outlook 2013 when journaling my emails.
1. Go to Sent Items
2. Click on email to Journal
3. Drop Down Move icon and choose 'Journal'
4. Click File tab and choose 'Save As'
5. Click on folder called Clients
6. click 'Save' button.

I would be doing this 100's of times a week. Could someone please help me write a Visual Basic macro to do this for me.
I have set up the developer tab and can name a macro, but it doesn't look as though you can 'record' a macro like you could do in excel. It looks as though you need to be able to write the whole thing from scratch. This makes it very difficult for newbies like me to at least have a go and then only ask genius like you when I get stuck.
Thanks for your help.

I have been having this problem for 7 or 8 months now. I am not receiving all of my emails in Outlook. For whatever reason, emails with larger attachments are not being delivered through Outlook. I receive all emails through the web client, however. Also, I am unable to send emails with large attachments through Outlook.

We originally thought it may have been a problem with the provider (ATT), but the other computer in my office receives all emails with no problem. I have attempted to repair the software, and even tried reinstalling the software, to no avail. We have enlisted the help of multiple outside specialists who are unable to pinpoint the problem as well. I'm not sure what to do at this point. It is incredibly frustrating that I have to go through multiple steps to check email and ensure that I have seen and read everything (not to mention using a web client for what I need to do is frustrating in and of itself).

Can anyone here help me? Thank you in advance.

This is about December 8, 2015, update for Outlook 2010 (KB3114409)

Today, I received a slew of updates via Windows Update. When I went to open Outlook 2010, it would ONLY open in Safe Mode. It would not open in regular (?) mode. After digging around for about 2 hours, and doing the usual disabling add-ins, etc., I found that this update is supposed to give Administrators the option to never have Outlook open in Safe Mode, among other fixes. See these 2 pages.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3114305. However, when I went to the registry to try to enable this, I found i didn't have the referenced key.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3114409

However, for me, it seemed to do the opposite. It only allowed me to open in safe mode. Anyway, long story short, I uninstalled this update and after a reboot I could immediately open Outlook in normal mode.

Hopefully, this helps someone who may have had this issue.

And hopefully, it won't reinstall itself and start the issue over again.

A:Heads Up for Outlook 2010 Users & Dec 8th's Update (KB3114409)

I just posted the same thing in the News thread. I actually created the entry to see if it would work. Nope. Update KB3114409 made Outlook 2010 behave badly for me. After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, we are having an issue on one of the device in relation to opening Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016) icon in Control Panel. It didn't open the window Mail Setup - Email accounts, Data Files, and Show profiles etc etc.

2. Uninstall from Program and Features >> Didn't work
3. Force to unstalled manually via Microsoft Tool >> Complete remove
4. Reinstall Office 2016 >> Mail icon didn't work

I have one Outlook 2010 user who has a couple of new employees that aren't appearing as desired in Outlook search. The user is unable to pull up "Jane Jackson" (names changed to protect the innocent ) by first name in the GAL. Jane also does not pull up in GAL if the user uses Advanced Find and types "Jackson" in the last name field, but if she only types "Jack", then Jane pulls up. I verified that Jane pulls up in my GAL successfully and as desired (by typing partial name in the To field of a new email message then clicking "Check names").

Have already tried:

Send/Receive tab > click the down arrow next to Send/Receive Groups > Download Address Book > keep Download changes since last send/receive and full details selected and make sure the Choose Address Book is set to \global address book > click OK - to update the address book in Outlook.

Also tried to rebuild the SRS file (as per instructions here: http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner-user/srs-file/)

Rebooted user's PC and neither had any effect.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
