I have been infected by "about blank" before and repaired it, this one is annoying me...help!

Preferred Solution: Solved: Click to see larger picture...about blank pops up with no picture!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have found this BUG in Micrososft Word 2007, that I consider to be a SERIOUS ISSUE for Microsoft Office Suite.

If you copy an image from a website and paste in the Word file, the image pastes successfully the first time,
but as you go on & paste other images from the site,
the first image is repeated over and over again, in place of other images (which have the same dimensions).
All other text data remain same, the image titles remain same, but only the image is repeated over and over

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I would not advise pasting images in doc files like that,
I would use ms Paint to paste or save picture as
I would really recommend using the windows snipping tool to get the images that way no bugs are being transferred to the machine or programs,
Then use the Insert image option in word...
It's just a safer way to do an operation,

Hi all,

Super bizarre.

So I woke up this mornind to login into my PC and see that my profile pic is changed back to the previous one. I have not any changes myself.

skype is linked to microsoft account. (skype had my old picture)

other option is that someone logged into my outlook and chaged profile picture then it got synced...

I cannot find any information on why or how picture would revert. ( even more so on a specific date )

any ideas or leads ?

A:login profile picture revert back to previous picture

Hello newbiew, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Since you Microsoft account is synced by default, then it most likely automatically changed back after syncing.

If you wanted to have the same user account picture for all devices, then changing it for everything should help.

If you only wanted to change it on this PC, then you could turn off syncing for Appearance under "Personalization settings" using the tutorial below.

YouTube? Picture in Picture (Beta)

Users of this extension have also used
Watch YouTube? videos in the corner while browsing the site, just like in the mobile apps.
* Videos will continue to play in a picture-in-picture window when you navigate away from the page
* Re-open video page at any time without interruption
* Start videos in a picture-in-picture window with the right click menu

This extension is a proof-of-concept and is still in beta, with a few known bugs. Playlists don't work correctly, and sometimes videos don't load right. If something goes wrong, opening a new video usually fixes things. If not, try opening a new tab.

I have an HDMI cord running from my laptop to my desktop computer. I have the laptop outputting audio through the HDMI cord perfectly fine. However, my desktop will not relay the audio through the built-in speakers unless I have the HP Picture in Picture software open on the selected HDMI Input. I was wondering if there was a way I am able to bypass using the HP Picture in Picture software. The HDMI Inputs do not show up in the 'Sound' window through the Control Panel in either the Playback or Recording tabs. Thank you!- Bubbyfong

this coding works fine for my index.html page where all my thumbnail pictures are.

When a user clicks on one of these thumbnail pictures, the picture loads the large version. But when the large picture is on screen, the user can right click on it.

How can I prevent the user from right clicking on the large picture (because thats the one I need protecting really!)
ie.. how do i disable right clicking on this picure?

A:right click disabling on a picture

Make it, instead of loading the large version, open another HTML document with the JavaScript you posted above and then with an img tag with the large image.

Remember, though, there are still several ways to get the image, most of which you can't stop.

I am working on a friend’s laptop that is having an issue I have not seen before.

The laptop is a Dell INSPIRON | 6000 running Windows XP Home, German Version. I am unable to give you much more information with out pulling hardware components out of the laptop.

I am unable to log into Windows because, as you can see, there is nowhere to log in. I have attempted Safe Mode and Safe Mode with Command Prompt and I still get not get past this screen. I did attempt to CTRL+ALT+DEL my way in and did get the more official; I am connected to a domain type, prompt. I thought I had it nailed then until I realized that none of the passwords worked.

It is possible that the laptops user has forgotten the password but I doubt it. If that is the case then I know what I need to do.

I am really just looking for the cause and solution to the problem.

I have found these articles at Microsoft and at derkeiler.com as well as a few others. They can be found at Google under “blank welcome screen” Windows XP. They suggest viruses and spy ware. I booted off of a 2005 Symantec Anti Virus Disc and it did not detect any compromised files.

I attempted to get the Windows XP Disc from the user but all they have that recovery disc that comes with most computer manufacturers. Not the Windows XP CD. It turns out that if I download a picture file to the photo app in 8.1, without putting it in a particular pre-existing folder, the file goes into the general area of the app displayed alongside several other non-related pictures. Okay, no problem. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to then move a single image file into one of the pre-existing folders I had created at an earlier time. If your suggestion is to open both the folder and the picture file side by side on the screen and then click and drag, I have no idea how to do that. Is there no way to right-click the image and find a way to select "move to", or something along those lines; or is there a pull-down menu that I can't find with the app open that contains a command to "move to"?
Any suggestions?
Thanks so much,
San Francisco

A:How to move a picture file on 8.1 to a picture folder...

Well, you have many options. What you are looking for is this:

Context Menu - Add Copy To Folder and Move To Folder - Windows 7 Help Forums

But you can just copy the pics and paste them into the folder you like.

The side by side is easy too. Just open the source folder and press WIN + Right arrow. Then open the target folder and press WIN + left arrow, Now you can drag and drop from one folder to the other.

If you have a restore point dated before this available, then you could do a system restore with it to undo and fix this.

If not, then you could try running a sfc /scannow command to see if it may help if ExpoTheme only modified a system file.

Hope this helps for now,

Thats going to be tough if your computers dont have PPT. You might have to google around for a free substitute. As far as the click and start funtion, might be able to make a shortcut, but afaik that only opens the program.

Hi all,

I need some help urgently.
I hope this is the right place to post by the way.

When I try to upload pictures and press the ''back'' button (ie the button with a folder and a green arrow) the whole screen closes down (and if I do this online, ie photobucket etc) the same thing will happen. I can't get past it, just trying to go to another folder closes everything down.

I've tried turning pc off and restarting in the hope it was a temporary error, but it still does it!

Does anyone know what is wrong and what I can do to correct the problem?

Many many thanks

I have tried to find an answer to this but cannot. Lately, I noticed my User Account Picture was not the picture I had selected. In addition, the Background Picture for my Windows 7 Home Premium edition log on screen was changed. This happened after running a program that is for exams at school which reboots your computer into a safe mode where the only program available is a rudimentary word processor.

I contacted the company that makes that software, Examsoft, and they told me how to get my default logon picture for my Windows Logon background back.

To address the User Account picture, I went into Control Panel > User Accounts and attempted to "change picture". This is not an option, however, for my administrator user account. It is an option for my guest account. I tried cloning my account without the bad .dat files, but that didn't work either as the new account I had created, also an administrator account, did not display a "change picture" option in control panel either.

I ran sfc /scannow, and it found no errors.

I am not sure what to do. Has anyone encountered this? Can you please help me?

Attached is a screen shot:

Thank You.

A:Solved: Picture

The problem is that you are trying to use a thumbnail in an icon only
area. This does not work. The desktop will only display Icons. It
will not display thumbnails.

If you want to change the folder icon to something else then you have
to change the icon in the customize area. Changing the thumbnail
image does nothing to the icon on the desktop. However once you
change the thumbnail image and then go to the desktop folder in
Explorer and choose to view thumbnails then you would see your custom
folder there. But you would still only see an icon on the desktop.

This is certainly a new one to me. I'm trying to watch a few videos I downloaded. RealPlayer is playing the sound, but there's no picture! Could it have some to do with my settings? Or is this a new form of DRM? They are personal movies, not copyrighted stuff. So I doubt that's the problem. But you never know. Any ideas?

A:Solved: No picture

We can definately rule out the whole DRM thing. Because I just downloaded and watched the videos on my father's computer. And he has the same OS as me (Windows XP SP2). It's obviously my computer that's causing this. Incidentally, I'm also having trouble getting my AOL media player to play video. Again, it plays just fine on my father's computer. I've tried the obvious stuff (making firewall exceptions, changing preference settings within RealPlayer itself). What else can I check?

It seems to be mostly WM files that won't play the video (only sound). Please help me! This extremely frustrating for how much I've spent on this computer.
