Infected With W32\robot Afl Worm?

Q: Infected With W32\robot Afl Worm?

Hi there,Help! I think this rather nasty worm has infected my pc..Sorry I am not a 100% sure that it is w32\robot afl worm?I am running Windows Live Onecare and keeps telling me a 'p2pnetworking.exe' is on my system. I cannot access my regedit - tells me another programme is using it, task manager - can't ctrl, alt delete (i have copied it and renamed it on my desktop to get it working) and finally when i try to install xp windows disc a message informs me it is not recognised by win32?. Previously a toolbar888 was in my system but this (for now anyway) appears to have gone...Something called Kaazar reappears and gets blocked too! Windows live Onecare is also blocking something called 'installer'? The system feels slow and does take a bit to load up. I have ran adaware, spybot, asquare and windows live onecare...I've obviously updated these programmes aswell..They show the system to be clean but i the p2pnetworking reappears in system 32...Your help is also much obviously apperciated and needed! Preferred Solution: Infected With W32\robot Afl Worm?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Infected with W32/Mytob-EW worm and W32/Sdbot-BN backdoor worm

Bleeping brought this to my attention  while I was researching strange behaviour on my pc.  Several drive wipes with a factory install performed over the last four weeks.  Four wipes.  One done by my college computer technician.  Frustration over what was going on triggered the slow one by one process analysis using Task Manager.  When I selected the end task on these (so called worm in disguise) processes, they immediately started up again.  Using the right-click feature on the entries, to search online what they were, brought me directly to the Bleeping Computer description.  Upon further investigation it was unanimous that Bleepings information was correct.

My emsisoft was consistently detecting and quarantining two registry keys, over and over even after I deleted them.  I am no different than anyone else and have saved logs of other scans from JRT, adware, rogue killer, rkill, etc etc.  They usually don't help that much, but if you are curious I have ... Hello DasNasty I would like to welcome you to the Malware Removal section of the forum.Around here they call me Gringo and I will be glad to help you with your malware problems.Very Important --> Please read this post completely, I have spent my time to put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier, faster and smoother for both of us!Please do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Then some gut named Mr Robot kept writing CMD style messages and then asks for my E-Mail address but I did not want to risk going any further because I fear that this is some sort of hacking method. Anyone have any idea what kind of messed up website this is? Please respond with a reasonable answer.

Robot City is an old '95 game. Nevermind why I'm wasting my time with it..

I can load the game just fine and everything works except for a small glitch in the display. When I move the mouse it leaves a large square trail behind it and distorts the screen turning it black.

The help file mentions this and I am running the game in 640x480 and 256 color just as it says I should.

Any ideas?

Here is the section of the help file that mentions it:

****************************************************************
7. Video Display Problems
****************************************************************
Robot City requires 256-color mode
Robot City is an 8-bit, 256-color application. In order to view
Robot City, you need a video card which supports at least 256
colors in 640x480 resolution. Robot City requires you run in 256
color mode. Other modes will cause colors to appear incorrectly
and may cause streaking or trails on the screen. If you are not
in 256-color mode, a warning dialog will appear when you launch
Robot City telling you to correct the problem, exit and restart
Windows.

I'm looking for an application which works as follows:

I give it the address of a webpage, and it opens up each link on the webpage, and then opens up each link in each opened up page, etc... and so on.... until a pre-specified number of levels deep.

So, in some sense I'm looking for a web-browsing robot.

This way, I can sit back and view all the web-pages without having to injure myself by repeatedly clicking on the links.

Can anyone point me to anything like this? (freeware please).

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forums but i figured you guys could answer my question. I just purchased Robot Arena 2 online for 20 bucks, and at first Vista wouldn't execute it. But then I downloaded a patch from the RA website. Now the game loads to the first few intro screens that say ... Infogrames...etc. all the title screens. But when it suppose to be on the menu screen its just black with the cursor showing...I've tried to run it in compatiblity mode but it did not work...

Is this game not compatible with Vista or what? I have Vista Ultimate x64, ATI 3200 HD
*I ordered windows 7 and it should be in before Christmas, would it possibly work on it?

Thanks for any help!

On my web site log is a section that gives the Top 10 documents not found. Amongst these is my home page URL/robots.txt. The figures for this last week show that it failed to access on 62 occasions which was 59%

Looking back on earlier logs the failure rate seems to be about 50% to 60%.

Is this important and what should I do about it?

Hello, I have a Sony Vaio laptop and recently whenever I use YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, stream or play audio/visual content anywhere the sound freezes and makes a robot noise constantly.

I am a dummy with computers and technical stuff but from what I have read on the web regarding this matter it could have been something to do with drivers, too much stuff on the hard drive, flash and/or java needing updating etc..

I have done all of these things (I think) and it still hasn't done anything! Could someone plleeassee advise me what I need to do to sort this out.

Also, my fan is very hot and sounds like a vacuum cleaner (I have tried cleaning it, I think I need a new fan) but could this be affecting anything?

Thanks all

edit: I use latest internet explorer, and sometimes chrome but it is the same on both of the browsers, and besides it happens with spotify which is downloaded?

A:Audio sounds like a robot on everything, please help!!

It does sound like something having to do with your sound card drivers. I would go into the device manager which is in the system tab of the control panel and completely uninstall the sound card and any other related components; reboot; then let windows hopefully re-detect and reinstall the sound card and its associated drivers. If you need more info on anything just ask.

The requested URL /cgi-bin/cgi?req=twz was not found on this server. That's all we know.

It's bizarre, because I never entered "/cgi-bin/cgi?req=twz" in the adress bar. Just: www.google.ca . I can confirm that this website is working on all other computers in the house.

Am I the only one who has this? How to solve this problem?

Thank you very much!

My problem started one night a few months ago, when watching a film from my pc on to my tv, everything was going ok then it started to freeze for a second or two with the audio sounding like a robot then continue playing ok and would start repeating it every so often, so, i tested all my hard drives with DSKCHK, no problems, did a check with seagate disk test all ok, did a memtest all ok, did a graphics stress test all ok, then one night i was going through some audio tracks and the robot sound appeared on them, so i thought that rules out graphics side, i even swapped from motherboard audio to a soundblaster card and did it on both, i deleted MPC to VLC same on both, i even did a windows xp repair, still happening, i even found a asus motherboard test but nothing on that, all drivers up to date, i recorded on my cycle cam which replicates the problem, and can be found here http://vid1177.photobucket.com/albums/x348/andsaw/PC Audio/23090002.mp4 its at the 40second mark, you will have to turn your volume up high as the cams mic is not brilliant, can anyone identify whats going and how i can sort it, any other info required please ask.

A:Audio Freezing Sounding Like A Robot

Hi there

The problem is definitely a software one, because you said you tried another sound card and the problem persists.
The problem is most likely coming from your codecs/filters.

If you have codecs installed, uninstall them and try playing again.
Still not working, uninstall all media players. Re install VLC and try again.

Last ting I can think of is that you download and install XP codec pack.
Just Google it, you will find it.

Hope this helps

It seems like a question ripped from the back of a cheap sci-fi novel: What happens when the robots are turned against us?
But researchers at the University of Washington think it's finally time to start paying some serious attention to the question of robot security. Not because they think robots are about to go all Terminator on us, but because the robots can already be used to spy on us and vandalize our homes.

I'd like to add the robots tag to my site. Where in my home pages html should I place the tag? And should it only be put on the home page? Also one other thought, I have a form on my site and don't want it indexed, should I place no follow in that pages html?
I know that there are difference of opinions as far as as using meta tags, but I figure it can't hurt.

A:Solved: robot meta tags

A robots.txt file is a short text file that resides in your home directory. Before search engines spider your site, they look into this file to see which files/file types and/or directories they are not allowed to see.

More details at http://buzzycode.com/
The following disallows all search engines and robots from crawling select directories and pages:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /privatedir/
Disallow: /tutorials/blank.htm

I downloaded it from

A:force delete karel j robot

Please don't double post (original thread : http://www.techsupportforum.com/f10/...er-183140.html)

If the program had any installation utility then check add/remove programs to see if there's no related entry first.

Try to delete the folder in safe mode : repeatedly press the F8 key when the computer starts and choose safe mode in the menu that will appear.

Else give unlocker a try :

Let's make this short and to-the-point:
- Purchased XPS15 9550 in April 2016
- Upgraded SSD to Samsung 950 Pro 512GB.  RAM is 32GB Crucial DDR4-2666
- Purchased the WD15 and TB15 docks
- I work at a high-tech company, one that designs and works on PCs, laptops, and desktops.  I have a degree in EE.  So I am very very technical.
- OS is Win10 Enterprise x64 with my company's standard IT bundle.
Problems:
1. TB15 does not work.  USB devices will drop after 5 minutes and DP / HDMI will drop a few minutes later.  Tried all the drivers and BIOS updates.  TBT utility will fail to detect the dock even if connected. Updated TBT FW to NVM16.  It is only good for charging the battery.
2.  WD15 partially works.  USB and DP work >80% of the time, but highly disruptive during the work day.  Decided to use it just for charging as well.
3.  Called Dell TS multiple times on the TBT problems above, and had MB replaced twice.  Problems remain.  I've just given up because their TS people have no clue about they product they are supporting, or just were not given any alternate path / options after replacing the MB twice.  I can attribute problems above to Dell's faulty TBT implementation.
4.  Most annoying is the random, robot-voice, mouse/kb slowdown occurring a multiple times an hour.  I hear it when on Lync calls, watching videos, playing music, etc.  I tri... Read more

Hi.

I was extracting files from an archive that i downloaded today, when my McAfee VirusScan On-Access Scan Detected 3 malicious files that were inside of it. One of the Files was automatically deleted by Mcafee As it normally does however 2 of the files cannot be deleted. I then Opened C:\Documents and Settings\superior\Local Settings\Temp in windows explorer and located these 2 files: tmp25C.tmp and tmp25D.tmp.vir

When i tried to delete these 2 malicious files i recieved an error message saying:
Error Deleting File or Folder
Cannot delete tmp25C: Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

McAfee says that these files are a worm and a trojan. although im not experiencing any problems i want to delete them. also i recieved error messages when attempting to use kaspersky and RSIT.
While Running RSIT i get this error:

I Have been having issues with a program refusing to accept an activation code and started trying to change my Antivirus from Avast (I was told by the programmer That Avast/AVG are notorious for interfering with his program) to Microsoft Security Essentials.  In the process I clicked one of the first "download here" buttons and installed a "fix your computer problems free by paying us excessive amounts of money" program.  When I realized my mistake I had already had 3 or 4 programs installed by the technician who didn't tell me right away that the "free" service was only free if you signed a 1 year contract to pay $250 to receive the free part.
Now I have been having problems for a while but at the time I told this fellow to get bent I ran several programs to scan my computer.  Not advocating the use of these programs I will simply say the programs he had installed all came back as High threat on more than 2 programs which have since removed the threats.

Now comes the big issue....  When I rebooted my computer after re-sizing my Hard Drive (I am attempting to create a new Windows Vista installation To upgrade to Windows 7), I got a warning to the effect that "Trojan-08.XXX is unable to run you have the option of searching the internet for a program to open it" (where the .XXX was another code like .sbd or .sdb or some such)

Now I have to ask what should I do next?

Hello ruby1624 and welcome to BC I see that you have succeeded in getting RSIT to run and that you have that log posted here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/186007/hijackthis-log-please-help-diagnose/ We do not allow more than one topic for the same computer and the same issue as this causes confusion, and in this case may make the disinfection process more difficult. This leaves you with a choice:1) Have this thread reopened and the HiJack This log topic deletedOR2) Keep this thread closed and wait for assistance in the HiJack This log forum. Please note that that forum is VERY busy. Please send a Private Message indicating your choice.Assuming you wish assistance in the HiJack This forum, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer. From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean. Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before y... Read more

Hi!

I have a problem with a file called either wa6.vbs.

What it does:
- adds autorun.inf to root drives (C: D: and all removable drives that I insert into my computer)
- this autorun is supposed to execute the wa6.vbs script.
- it changes the desktop background to a blank screen after a new boot.
- It adds the words Gdooey Mae in the Windows Internet Explorer bar behind the title of the current website

I don't know what else it does.

If you can help me, please advise me how to get rid of this.

Thank you!

Hello BC,As I've already posted in this thread, I've been having multiple problems with my PC for couple of days which I assume to be a rogue virus/worm of some kind. Things started when I switched on my PC yesterday to see the Windows Explorer crashing continuously and I had the option to close or restart it, which on restarting brings up the same error. I was unable to use the explorer or anything related to it and used the task manager to open firefox through commands. I did some googling and opened the Event Manager and found out it's thumbnail cache problem or something related to it. So I did a system cleanup and it cleaned up the cache and the explorer problem was gone. I am now able to use the PC normally but with certain problems. Now I can browse and use the explorer properly but whenever I open a folder or a drive from My Computer, it opens up in a new window instead of the same window. I tried changing it through folder options and tried changing it through the registry editor by deleting the MountPoint2 folder under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer which from some sources I assume to be part of a worm but it just came back when I opened the registry again.I have Malwarebytes PRO installed and did both quick scan and flash scan and found no threats. I also downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials and did a full scan which resulted in no positives too. While between the scan, all off a sudden t... Read more

So my buddy from school who happens to use Ubuntu with no Anti virus was trying to give me his flash drive for some things and as soon as I plugged it in, my Windows Defender started going off. It was: Worm/Win32/[email protected]

I quickly removed the USB, and am doing a full system scan, so far it is good. Normally in the past with Windows 7 I used Combofix for anything really ugly and it worked but here I find out that Combofix doesn't support Windows 8 yet. Do any of you guys have any other suggestions or tools? I think I got this thing, but this is my first infection in 8 yet so I am looking for some advice.

Thanks, I am somewhat of a newbie at this.

Avast takes a look at the hacks from season one of Mr. Robot and explains what businesses can learn from them.

Season one of last summer?s hit new TV show, Mr. Robot, was filled with interesting and, for the most part, accurately portrayed hacks. The hacks were carried out by the show?s main character Elliot and hacker group fsociety. Their goal throughout the season was to take down the multi-national conglomerate, E Corp.

Although the hacks on the show were rather complex and to a certain extent elaborate, there are a few things SMBs can learn from them.

Read more at the Avast blog! Seems like Avast is also experiencing Mr Robot fever!
