I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi -

I'm at my wits end with this. My computer updated to the current version of Java (1.7.0_25). However, I have a program that I use for work that won't run on it. It must run on 1.5.0_15. (And I must use the program — and I've already walked through tech, I'm an independent contractor so I'm basically on my own with this one...)

Here's the error I get when I try to run it (my only option is a URL):
Here's what I've tried:
System Restore — I get an error that there is a file that can't be accessed so the restore didn't work. Tried it 3x, once via safe mode. Won't work.
Installed 1.5.0_15 — app won't pick up that it's installed.
Removed every instance of Java — nothing happens.
Installed only 1.5.0_15 — app still insists it's not installed.
Opened Java Controls — disabled 1.7 in the options. Still get error.
Checked off black list in advanced Java options — still get the error.

I'm hoping someone has another idea. Thanks so much!

If you use this program through a browser then you may want to check and remove any Java Add-ons or Extensions in the browser.

Then download and install Java 5.0 Update 15 from here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/j...oads-javase5-419410.html#jdk-1.5.0_15-oth-JPR

My sister has a Lenova all in one pc running Windows 8.1.  For the last several weeks, she keeps getting these pop ups wanting her to call them to fix a problem which I don't think is there,  I think it is a scam, but can't find the source to stop the messages.  I have run her AVG as well as Malwarebytes and iobit malware scan and it finds nothing.  I went to the startup file in Task manager and don't see anything there either.
I hope someone has info on this..I have teir 800 number but don't want to call it.

A:PC support (Microsoft Certified Partner) pop up question

DO NOT call the number or allow that scammer to connect to the computer remotely.
It is definitely a scam.
Uninstall ALL IObit programs....best to use Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware in Advanced Mode.

Could be the ad is only appearing at a certain website or more likely some adware has gotten installed. Use the programs below to find
and remove ALL adware.

Use CCleaner to remove Temporary files, program caches, cookies, logs, etc. Use the Default settings. No need to use the
Registry Cleaning Tool...risky. Pay close attention while installing and UNcheck offers of toolbars....especially Google.
After install, open CCleaner and run by clicking on the Run Cleaner button in the bottom right corner.
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

Download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
Close all open programs and internet browsers.
Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click on Scan button.
When the scan has finished click on Clean button.
Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.
You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.

download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".... Read more

Hello,

I'm hoping, please, that you can help me. The pc was infected by a virus stating that we needed to call a number to get it resolved. The person using the pc at the time was working with Verizon, who told him to call the number. The person asked for several hundred dollars to resolve his problem. Needless to say, the pc was hacked. He did get suspicious and hang up and disconnect the pc, but it was too late. The original error is attached. To resolve it, I ran Malwarebytes, Adware, Tsskill, Rkill, Zemana, and Emsisoft. While they found some files, none were highly suspicious. The suspicious files were either removed or quarantined. The machine does reboot after 10 minutes, and after doing it so many times, it now has chkdsk errors. It also doesn't reliably go into the user profile (one of two on the pc) unless I am in safe mode. I am now desperate.

Thank you!!!

Hello,
Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.

It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Hello Everyone!

I have came across something that has been getting on my nerves the past month. I work at a small IT store and we have been getting a lot of calls about this pop-up. What it does is it pops up a block saying computer is infected and you have to call this random number to get it fixed. The number is never the same. I have found there are a lot of junk programs that are installed. For example, Optimzer Pro, Cross Browse, PC Tuner to name a few. I have also noticed that most of the computers DNS servers get set static. Current computer i am working on is set to 81.218.119.5 and 82.163.142.130.

I have done some research and find that every DNS i see goes to Israel. I have been removing the infection by running multiple tools. Malwarebytes, Hitman Pro, Adwcleaner, Superantispyware and resetting all the Browsers, but it has been coming back on occasion. I also have been uninstalling the LAN and reinstalling with a newer driver because seeing a DNS get set static by a bug is something i have never seen before.

Wondering if you guys have any suggestions. It has happened on windows 7 and windows 8 computers.

Thanks

Hello again,

I found out that these extensions are supposed to make it where I can export my access databases as .exe files. This would be great, since then I could just have a .exe for ones in the office to run, so that no one could edit forms, tables, etc.

Now, I googled it, and got this site. I can't seem to find where to actually download it however.

Is this a good fix for what I am wanting to do? This way, everyone in the office wouldn't have to have access, they could just run the .exe, and that would allow them to use the forms just as they would if they had the database itself.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

my browser first asks me to sign in and click which account I would like to use. I click my desired account, and it briefly redirects to the Microsoft Developer API Access page, but then after a split-second it redirects me back to the sign-in page. Is it
a requirement to have a specific type of email associated with the Microsoft account in order to get past this?

Hey everybody

I've been trying to figure this out for a while, but just can't seem to get it to work right.

I have the Microsoft Office Access 2003 Developer Extensions, which has a packaging wizard, that is used to package up a Access database and include a runtime environment, so users without access on their computer can use a database.

I have access on the computer in my office, so I take the file I want to package, and run the wizard, creating a setup file for the database and runtime. Now, I go over to the server, run the setup program, and have it installed on the server.

I can run the database on the server fine. I open it up, it runs in runtime mode, just as the package wizard said it should, and I can do whatever I want. The problem I am having is, I try to create a share, so that I can share this program with users on the network.

When I do this, it just doesn't work right. It is saying that it can't find the file "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\ifg_agent_database\ifg_agents_modified_10_13_05.mdb"

Any ideas on what is going on?

What i am doing currently, is downloading the Windows 8 Developer Preview without tools.

I have read some solutions, but they did not offer what i am looking for.

Well since then I haven't been able to access my Microsoft Word application at all. Each time I try to open the application I get this error message: C:\Program Files\Miscrosoft Office\Office\Winword.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

All of my saved files are still there but I am unable to open them. When I try to open a file from the Windows Explorer I get the same message as above with that particular file name included.

I also tried to open an office document from the icon on my menu taskbar but I get this message when doing so: The program associated with the selected template cannot be started, or the program cannot use the selected template.

Whenever I try to run some Microsoft application, another application or program tries to install or run. I noticed it happens with Visio 2007 and IE 8 but not Word, PowerPoint or Excel 2007.

The program that tries to run or install varies. The files could be in different folders. Sometimes it's one program or it could over 10.

I have a laptop that came with Vista installed, so I don't have the installation DVD to try to repair the problem. I've already tried installing Vista 64 SP1 and running SFC, neither helped.

- sfc /verifyonly - To verify any corrupt files only.
- sfc /scannow - To verify and fix any corrupt files.

There was no installation I did that triggered this problem. Although the problem could have started soon after a Windows Update which I did on October 20, 17 & 14 recently.

Since I use Microsoft programs constantly, this is a major problem for me. Every time I open a new tab in IE, I have to cancel out of programs trying to install. Every time run Visio, I have to close other programs that started and cancel out of programs trying to install.

I've already spent many hours trying to resolve this problem.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium 64

when you click on an icon to run an app is it a shortcut, or the real file? You can right click whatever you click and get the properties of it.

I have been having problems with my computer where it completely freezes up, and I can do absolutely nothing cause the computer will not respond. I will then get an error that says 'Microsoft Windows application is not responding. The program may respond again if you wait. Do you want to end this process?' I cannot open the task manager either. Then there are other times where my computer isn't acting right so I will try to restart, and the computer will go to the turquoise screen you see when the computer is shutting down, but the computer will not restart. I have been forced to shut down my computer through the power button at times which I know I shouldn't be doing, but it is the only way to be able to restart my computer, and to start using it again when Windows stops responding. When I shut down using the power button, the screen doesn't go black, but becomes the same color as whatever was on the screen before powering off.

I have performed windows 7 repair installs on 2 separate occasions because I don't know how to set up everything I need to set up after a fresh install. I always had a friend who would do that for me, but no longer do. I have checked my c drive for errors, but that hasn't fixed the problem. I've tried the repair your computer option while booting up, but that never finishes. I know a fresh install will be recommended, but I will not do that. Hopefully there is another solution.

Ok. I am in a Computer Software class and my teacher was discussing the Google software you can use the same as Microsoft Office. He also mentioned other programs Linex, Red Hat, Uruntu.
Linex is a type of operating systems – previously UNIX. I guess I am not the good geek I thought I was because I only know about Microsoft Office, Professional, and Student. HELP!
I would like to know besides Microsoft what programs others have used and what they thought of them. I am a secretary, turned student , soon to be Project Manger for Construction. I like to create documents in Word. I have used a few of the other programs Microsoft uses but have not used any other program besides preprogrammed software. Such as, Prolog (ugh on some applications) and some other DOS programs that were preprogrammed.
I would like to explore my other options to be the most knowledgable person I can be.

When opening and closing Outlook 2003, Word and Excel an error message comes up with the "! in a yellow triangle" icon. The message is headed "Microsoft Visual Basic" and reads "Compile Error in hidden module:AutoExec". Whilst the applications can still be used I have to acknowledge the error message by clicking OK before entering or exiting. Can anyone help as to the source of this message and more importantly give advice on eradication?

Thanks

Is anyone else having this issue? The Event Viewer has settled down, and this event appears 3 or 4 times a day now, even though I haven't been using the App.

Searches have revealed nothing so any suggestions would be welcome.

Hello!

I was playing a game just the other day when all of a sudden the FPS drops to half what it usually plays comfortably at. I restarted the computer and this did not solve the problem. In addition to this (I'm not sure if this is coincidence or a linked issue, i assume it is linked) the computer started to become unresponsive and issuing the message while just using basic Windows functions:

Quote:

Microsoft Windows
The Application is not responding. The program may respond if you wait. Do you want to end the process?

Ctrl Alt Del only becomes available once the system has started responding again, the mouse functions are still available, but obviously there is nothing to click on except End Process on the alert window.

Like I mentioned above, this happens during basic windows functions such as using the windows explorer, google chrome, clicking on the task bar or skype. It doesn't seem to be picky.

I have tried the following things:
BIOS flash update.
Malware/Virus search.
Disabling Virus programs.
Registry and Drive de-fragmentation.
Repair install of windows,
Fresh install of windows on two seperate HDD's in the same machine.
Upgrade install of windows,
Reducing/increasing the RAM, shuffling the RAM into different slots.
Updating all drivers in use on the computer

System specs are below:

While we have seen several Rogue Anti-Spyware applications doing rounds of the Internet, here is one which takes the cake ! Because, the website that pushes this rogue application calls itself as "Microsoft Antispyware Center"! The site in question is www(dot)maxing-search(dot)com/antispyware/ (do NOT visit this site). The "Online Security Scanner" is obviously, fake too. It "detects" a few "high" rated threats and urges to remove them all. And, when a user clicks on "Remove All", a file named Setup.exe hosted at www(dot)liveupdatesnet(dot)com (do NOT visit this site too), will be prompted for download. The authors of this rogue application have paid attention to small details like setting the "Company" attribute in file properties to "Microsoft". But fortunately, this piece of malware is detected pretty well by most AVs. Source.

Hey everyone. I've tried to research this and I just dont know what it's talking about. I e-mailed a simple game to a friend I work with. When she tries to open it she gets the message "The Microsoft Virtual Machine does not support this application
No Such interface supported"

Any ideas?

Assuming it works fine on any other PC I can only assume they have an older version of VM. Assuming they at least have InternetExplorer 4.01 or better, have them go here and download the most recent version of VM. Then run it to install it. <a href=http://www.microsoft.com/java/vm/dl_vm40.htm> MS VM</a>

BTW, before they download it, have them check their current version number of VM, Start>Programs>MSDos prompt, type in Jview and press enter. The version number is in the upper right hand corner of the DOS dialog box. If it's less than 5.00.3802 then they should update to the version I mention above.

See this to be sure they do have IE 4.01 or better. <a href=http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q164/5/39.asp> What version of IE do I have?</a>

I have a preinstalled microsoft worksuite 2000 disc set. I recently uninstalled the progam and then reinstalled it. Word would not reinstall. I cannot find the program on the c drive. When I try to install it from the disc, I get an error message. The message is Debug error 2203, this patch package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it or contact the aplication vendor to verigy that this is a valid window installer patch package. I have the discs and the certificate of authenticity, but I can't seem to fix the problem. Can anyone help me? I have searched the internet for solutions, to no avail. I appears that Microsoft is aware of the problem in Worksuite 2000 but does not have a solution. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am using a Dell Inspiron 531 with Windows Vista home edition SP 1.

On three occasions now while using Microsoft Word 2007 the mouse freezes and I cannot access anything, not even Task Manager. Each occasion I have had to boot out and restart the computer. Sometimes when I try to restart it the cursor freezes on the screen and Windows does not start up.

I am not sure whether the problem is related to Microsoft Word or Windows.
