Prevent screen protector from peeling off

Q: Prevent screen protector from peeling off

Hi Guys

I wondered if anyone knew how to prevent the screen protector on my iPod Touch (4th gen) from peeling off. There is a small part in the bottom left corner that keeps on coming up a bit. I think it is caused by the (rubber-like) iPod Case that I have which sort of pushes on the corner of the screen protector causing it to come up/out. If I remove the case then it is fine, but I need the case to hide all the scratches on the back!

The case is a CAPDASE case which is a bit stretchy and translucent. It protects the back

When I try to "tuck" it under the screen protector it stays fine for a minute or so but then it comes off again

Any ideas. Might glue work? Will it damage the screen

It is only one corner. The rest of the front is perfect

Thanks in advance

EDIT: It is a CAPDASE Soft Jacket 2 XPOSE

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

That "screen protector" is used during manufacture and shipping of the iPod and you can remove it anytime to solve this problem

A:Peeling Screen

This could be a heat issue, have you checked to see if you have a build up of dust on the heat sink and fan on the CPU?If this isn't the case, look in the Event Viewer to see what errors appear at the time that you are experiencing these freezes. All events are log with a date and time.Start> right click on My Computer> Manage> Event Viewer. Be sure that you choose System. The error will appear in the far left column and will appear as a red dot with a white X inside. Each of the columns has a title at the top of them, the column that you want is the Event column. When you see an error follow it to the right across the page to the event column, there will be a set of numbers in there, this is the error code. If you right click on the error code a drop menu will appear, click on Properties, another page will open which will contain a description of the error. Please post the error codes and descriptions back in this topic.

I have had my laptop for just under 3.5 years and it has served me great as a college student. Just now I tried opening the laptop and it made a cracking sound, after slowly opening it I found that the black plastic border on the lower right side is not anchored to the metal backing of the screen anymore. I can push it back in place but it doesn't snap in place. I would really like to get it fixed but not sure how to go about doing that or whether or not it is something I can do myself. It is pretty inconvenient as I have to be very cautious about opening and closing the screen and it is very inconvenient as a college student.

My lenovo l380 yoga has some kind of layer peeling off the glass touchscreen, and on the bezels as well. This is the 3rd time I've had a problem with this device in 3 months. I don't want to send my computer to the depot back AGAIN, as it took around 1 month last time, and I spent so many hours on the customer service line, trying to find out the status, and waiting for parts.Im not very sure what this is, but I don't think this is supposed to happen, and if anyone could help out, that would be appreciated. The image of the peeling is below.

Hi guys!

I have a CD that I burnt a while ago. Unfortunately the edge of the face coating is peeling (i.e. now you can see through it) which is stopping my CD Drive from being able to read the data.

Is there any trick to fixing this? Can I use some kind of material to "coat" the CD again?

Look forward to hearing any tips.

Thanks in advance.

A:Peeling CD - How do I fix it?

As soon as the data layer starts to peel, there is no way saving it. Even if it is on the very edge and has no data on it, it is not saveable in anyway.

Basically, you gotta look after your CD's better.

So i just bought the hp spectre x360 (2017 ac series) and was wondering if I should get a screen protector or case. Does anyone use a screen protector with theirs? What are the "best" options available for this device in terms of protection. Are there any cases/sleeves i should buy ASAP?

A:Hp Spectre x360 screen protector/case?

Is it the 13" unit? I plan on using a compatible HP leather sleeve with the product loan unit that is on its way to me. They are just as stylish and utilitarian as the Spectre ultrabook is. There are far less expensive neoprene sleeves available at any electronics store's notebook section that will protect the unit just as well.  Here is what Newegg.com has to offer. Using a screen protector is not viable as the 13t-ac series are touch screen enabled. I have had touchscreen noteboks before and never found a need nor reason to even consider a screen protector.  There is quite straightforward rule of thumb with touchscreens. If you break that rule of thumb it is at your product's own peril.Use only your finger(s) or compatible Active pen stylus and never touch the screen with anything else.

The bugs are a screensaver which gets installed by the rogue. You should be able to disable it immediately by changing the screensaver to "none" or another of your choice. We'll remove the file later. It's annoying, but not malicious in and of itself.

My computer was running really slow so I ran AVG Antivirus and Ad-Aware but nothing untoward was detected. I thought maybe it was full of junk ( I didn't know what was junk and what wasn't) so I decided to reformat. I did this and everything seemed fine initially. It was opening and closing programs very quickly. That was a few weeks ago and yet again the same thing is happening again. Its started running really slow. The windows don't close instantly but peel down ever so slowly.

I downloaded all the updates after I reformatted from Microsoft like it advised and ended up with all these:
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 185.00MB
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 208.00MB
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 28.04MB

Could this have anything to do with it's performance? Anyway, today I ran Avg Anivirus and Analyzer. No virused were detected but it did detect 868 errors:( Ad-Aware hasn't shown up any spyware or malware.

My System Properties are Windows XP Home Version 2002. I have an Intel?Pentium?4 CPU 3.00GHz and 448MB of RAM

I don't have games, lots of photos and music files. Only regular stuff like MS Office and the like
I would really appreciate any advice you can give me

A:Slow PC and Peeling Windows

<<today I ran Avg Anivirus and Analyzer...>>

What is Analyzer?

448MB of RAM can run XP...adding Office increases the toll on the system. If you have many other such applications installed...you need to look at removing them...or increasing the amount of RAM for the system, IMO.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

My problem is a persistent pop-up and desktop/screen saver replacement. My McAfee antivirus is also out-of-date, and I get an error when I try to update it.

The pop-up reads:

Malware Alert!
Warning!
Attention! Adware.W32.SpyShredder spyware detected. Adware.W32.SpyShredder provides REMOTE ACCESS to ... blah, blah blah, ... click yes to get all available antispyware software

(there are a couple of variations with different spyware names that are rotated through)

Of course, I never clicked yes, but I recently did it just to get the name of the bogus spyware. When I clicked yes, a program called "Malware Protector 2008" immediately appears. (way too fast to indicate a download of any kind). This program is also listed as "MProtector" under the uninstall list.

When I uninstalled it, a message comes up warning me that anything the program had fixed would go back to how it was before. When I re-confirmed the uninstall, it takes me to the Malware Protector website.

The desktop change makes it a blue background with yellow lettering warning me about spyware having been detected, and to immediately get malware and spyware protection.

The screensaver changes to bugs "chewing" black holes in the screen. Creepy.

I'm not exactly sure if the proper term here is "ghosting". My laptop screen suddenly is having these strange white markings. I can't take a screenshot of it because it is a physical problem. So I took with a camera. Take a look:

That particular horizontal white line in the screenshot was caused by Google Chrome window. Most days I don't let it bother me, but this is really distracting.

To explain how this happens:
Most UI design today have white edges to make windows appear glowing or glassy. As of late, glowing/glassy-edged windows have a negative effect on my screen as they leave some artifacts. These artifacts are always white and semi-opaque, thus I call it ghosting. It could be a line, sometimes the shape of a tab or a button, and on rare ocassion, even the letters from the title bar is "imprinted". I don't think it's serious because they disappear over time when I shut off my screen. So is this caused by having my laptop screen open for too long? Sometimes these ghost imprints develop even after three hours of having my laptop open. A standard dead pixel tester cannot fix this. I have my laptop open almost whole day everyday.

Ideas? Clarifications? Tips?

A:Is this laptop screen ghosting? How do I prevent/fix this?

What you are describing is classic "Screen Burn" (Burn-In) or "Image Retention". A problem that plagued Cathode Ray Tubes and Plasma TV screens. But it is a problem that should not affect a typical LCD screen.

It could be a case of a poor quality display, or a defective display. There was a batch of Dell laptops a while back that had this problem. But if the artifact does not show up in a screenshot then it certainly looks like a hardware defect.

The simple solution of course is to use a screen saver and have it come on often enough to avoid the burn-in. A blast from the past.
A more costly and complicated solution would be to replace the display screen.

Hello, not sure if this is the right section, but it does involve some security. This computer is a family computer, mine actually, but used by the family, and one of the members always takes off the option in screen savers to display login upon resume. is there any way to block this, besides creating a new user. from being changed?

A:Prevent changing login screen

Hi,

The user is not able to change this option which is located in power options unless he/she is an administrator. Simply make them a standard user. Hope this helps.
