MSE OOBE Event Error - Fixed

Q: MSE OOBE Event Error - Fixed

For those that have upgraded MSE and have seen the following error on bootup in Event Viewer.

Session "Microsoft Security Essentials OOBE" stopped due to following error; 0xC000000D

here is the fix.

OK we have a fix. After MS worked on my PC for 4 hrs they got it fixed. Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Microsoft Security Essentials\Support and delete MSSEOOBE.etl and reboot. After reboot this file should be recreated and the error should be gone. I have found that when you delete MSE this folder remains and the files get updated when you run MSE. It looks like the one file was not updating properly and causing the failure. After it was working I did another test. I deleted MSE and also all the files in the Support directory. I then reinstalled MSE and everything is still fine. If you look at the error under Detail it will point to this file.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: MSE OOBE Event Error - Fixed

Well the error has returned. It worked great for a week then came back. Same fix will clear it but after a few boots it comes back. I have now dumped MSE and will wait for MS to produce a new version.

If you made a clean install 3 times and the problem still exists, the problem is caused by something in common with all the installs. The appears to be your anti virus. Turn off Security Essentials if used or any other anti virus. Report back with the results.

Hello,

Has the "Event 513 error" issue been solved in the latest version of Macrium Reflect (Free)?
This version: 5.2.6433 (11 November 2013)

Event 513 errors in Windows 8.1

Possible Macrium Issue?

In any case, is it currently safe to use Macrium Reflect (latest free version), from the point of view of operating system integrity (with Windows 8.1)?
I'm a little scared that this "Event 513 error" issue could corrupt Windows 8.1 in some way.
Are you using Macrium Reflect Free with no problems?

Thanks.

A:Macrium Reflect: Event 513 error issue fixed?

Macrium says that the error does not affect the backup process.

I have not had any problems running manual backups using Windows 8.1.

I found this while browsing my Windows Vista directory (I was bored) and came across that file went into it and clicked on Setup.exe to see what it would do gave me an error, then I clicked on the msoobe.exe file and it came to what looks like the setup for Windows Vista. I looked it up on the internet but all I found was a bunch of computer jargon (crap). Could someone explain to me in laymans terms what that file is, as I am afraid to go further in fear of screwing up Windows Vista. As I can't post a screenshot because for some reason it wont work but HERE is a link to a picture of what it looks like when I click on msoobe.exe (sorry if it doesn't work, I had to Google image search it). ANY info is helpful as I am very flustered with this!

On one specific model, we are getting an error during OOBE generalize sysprep.
Running sysprep on the image before capture, this error pops up:
"RunDLL"
"There was a problem starting am
The specified module could not be found"
Sysprep continues but when we capture the image with WDS and then try to deploy it, setup fails with an unknown error.
This happens with or without an answer file.

Hi DJX995,
I recommend you check the sysprep log files and upload the log files also, it will help us to troubleshoot the issue .

After the help from someone on this site, I was able to clear up my BS issues by uninstalling my graphics card. However after using the AMD to reinstall it to allow my computer to game and watch videos I own, the BS came back. After uninstalling the graphics card again, I am back to being on my computer normally but can't do anything that requires a graphics card.

I would like to have my graphics card working again with the BS issue fixed.

Below I have the files from when the computer had the BS on top, and I have the files from after the graphics card uninstalled on the bottom.

If you want the BS event info I have that too and will have no problem posting it if it is needed.

I just joined this forum today, I found it while searching for help to fix the following error as displayed in the Event Log:

When I boot up I do get my desktop, but the mouse is frozen.
I turn the power off, and back on and my system is functional.

However, I get the following error messages in the event log each time:
1. Session "Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D
2. The previous system shutdown at 6:07:45 AM on ‎1/‎26/‎2013 was unexpected.
3. The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
4. Session "Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D
5. Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0

This has been going on for a while now. In an attempt to fix, using suggestions I found by Googling:
1. I have uninstalled Security Essentials, run a registry cleanup, re-started my system and reinstalled Security Essentials;
2. Removed the EppOobe.etl file and rebooted.
Neither of these worked.

Attached is a zip file created by running the SF_Diagnostic_Tool.exe. Prior to creating this file I followed the instructions from this page Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD in order to be able to create a complete dump file.
I have also entered as much information as possible about my system configuration into my profile.

A:"Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stopped due to error: 0xC000000D

After I formatted my machine I constantly had this problem and error. For a while removing the EppOobe.etl file prior to shutdown and/or rebooting was the only fix. This morning my system BSOD'd mid-game due to this bloody file/program. Not to mention MSE has been the sole cause of every issue with my machine. I've since un-installed it and installed another virus scanner all together. So far so good!

Sorry I don't have a fix for you. But I suggest downloading something else entirely.

Hi,

When does the issue begin to occur?

Since Windows system uses separated user mode and kernel mode memory space, stop errors are usually caused by kernel portion components, such as a hardware device,
third-party drivers, backup software or anti-virus services (buggy services).

Please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.

1. Boot the computer in
Clean Boot for a test.

2. Temporarily disable all unnecessary hardware devices in Device Manager, such as Modem, sound card or external device.

For detail steps, we can refer to the link below:

Device Clean Boot

3. Upgrade the virus definition, run antivirus program and perform a full scanning.

If the issue persists, please upload the minidump file (%systemroot%\minidump) to SkyDrive (
www.skydrive.live.com ), then share the link to me. I will be glad to assist you to analysis the data.

Thanks,
Novak

Hello, I recently tried to filter events of the .NET runtime provider by their event ID. This should be accomplished through enabling the .NET runtime provider with
EVENT_FILTER_TYPE_EVENT_ID flag being set in the EVENT_FILTER_DESCRIPTOR structure, unfortunately the
EnableTraceEx2 function returns 87. If I try to enable the provider with the
EVENT_FILTER_TYPE_SCHEMATIZED flag instead of the EVENT_FILTER_TYPE_EVENT_ID, the provider gets enabled so I came to the conclusion that the
EVENT_FILTER_TYPE_EVENT_ID is the invalid parameter.

Enabling the session:
The LogFileMode member of the EVENT_TRACE_PROPERTIES
structure is set to EVENT_TRACE_FILE_MODE_CIRCULAR, EVENT_TRACE_PRIVATE_LOGGER_MODE
AND EVENT_TRACE_PRIVATE_IN_PROC (<- supports this mode scoped filters?).

According to
MSDN enabling scoped filters should be possible for private logging mode sessions or am I missing something?

Iastor is your storage driver (for HD or Raid) and often a driver will not respond within the normal range. No big deal but you can update the driver to newest version to see if that eliminates the messages

Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - please find the complete system log warning details below and a (related or not?) disk controller error below.  Motherboard is an ASRock B75 Pro 3 with an Intel B75 Chipset.
I keep getting these warnings.  I get them for all my Windows Portable Devices (disk drives) on boot up.  Here are my disks:
Disk 0 on internal SATA 3 connector off an
ASMedia ASM1061 chip on motherboard (internal drive, but enumerated as removable) - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 D: data drive
Disk 1 on internal SATA 3 connector off the B75 chipset on motherboard (internal drive, not enumerated as removable - gives no warnings or errors - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 C: system drive (has Windows 8.1 OS on it)
Disk (2 or 3 depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 2.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Kingston DT 101 II USB device F: backup thumb drive
Disk (2 or 3 - depends on order of USB connection) on external USB 3.0 connector off back I/O panel of motherboard - Seagate BlackArmor DAS35 USB device G: backup external hard drive
There are no symptoms other than another (probably unrelated) disk controller error (shown below).  The controller error is on either drive 2 or 3, but never 0 or 1, so it is one of the external back up drives (the thumb drive or the BlackArmor drive).
Note that on boot up I get the warning for disk 0 above whether or not the external drives are connected so the disk controller error may be unrel... Read more

Greetings,

Not more than 3-4 months ago I built a new system in anticipation for WAR. The system was built to be, obviously, a gaming computer as well as a system I could do a bit of graphic programming on. Up until last month it was blazing fast, I mean insanely powerful until one day when I was playing TF2.

I had just loaded up the game, got ready to spawn into a 2fort server, walked out onto the sniper deck and I felt a massive system lag spike. Next thing I know there's blood all over the wall and my char had gotten shot in the head before I even knew what was going on. So I figured, maybe it just needs a reboot...

I rebooted and everything was fine until it reached the Windows loading screen. Once there it sat for about 3 minutes and finally booted completely. However, at that point, loading anything... games, web pages, you name it, took at least twice as long as it should. On top of this issue, the system lag spikes seemed to come every 3 hours and in groups of 2s for a session of 4 groups.

What I mean by this is:
1) APATI Error Event ID: 9 \Device\Ide\IdePort5 did not respond within the timeout period.
2) Disk Warning Event ID: 51 An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation.

Hi Pyrrhic, welcome to TSF..

have you tried different SATA cables?

As you mentioned the drive may be starting to fail...it can happen to drives of any age so it would probably be an idea to download and run the manufacturer's diagnostic tools so you can perform some exhaustive checks on the integrity of the disk. That should give you a good idea if the drive is beginning to fail.

Have older T420s but was expensive - out of warranty. Hard drive had to be replaced when owned less than one year. When start in safe mode since Windows not shut down normally. Happens every few days. Same style mouse using for 3 years of 4 1/2 years without problem. In case the mouse faulty, replaced mouse with new same type. Still turned off.  Tried buying power cord though almost $100 since forums said likely that worn out since old. Still happened.  Took to Lenovo authorized dealer and said either battery or motherboard.  Would not open and clean saying could not be dust in it and only could affect temp and if temp Lenovo had built in warning pop-up. I ran Lenovo hardware test and came back NO problem - could mother board still be bad? I finally found another forum that said to check log file for Log, System, Level, Error, Source. I checked and one said: "Event 11: Disk- The driver detected a conctroller error on \Device|harddisk1\DR2". Other one said: "Event 7026 Serive Control manager. The server {F9717507-6651-4EDB-BFF7-AE615179BCCF} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

This key pertains to appID WinInetBrokerServer (CLSID WinInetBroker). I tried adding permissions to the key(s) but that didn't solve the problem. In the permissions for the key, the first user name listed is named Account Unknown (S-1-15-2-1).
I think maybe that may have something to do with it. I deleted the 6 registry keys associated with this key and everything worked but I was locked out of Windows XP Mode (Windows Virtual PC). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to fix this error?

EDIT: Paste chkdsk results into your next post. You can find the results in the Event Viewer - Application log. Do a find on "chkdsk" to find the entry.

Are you experiencing actual system problems or did you just come upon this entry and assumed it is an error of some kind?

Memory exception but we need to examine the DMP files to find out why.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP
We could also use some system information, which you can get easily by running msinfo32.
To do that go to start>run>type msinfo32>enter

When it is finished running go to file>save>name it and upload to us here.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb ... Read more

Hi,

When you got through the Win8.1 OOBE screens (I've counted 9), you see the following screens:

1) License terms
2) Region and Language
3) Personalize
4) Get Online
5) Settings (i)
6) Setting (ii)
7) Settings (iii)
8) Settings (iv)
9) Your account

Now, when I have an answer file, these screens are supressed. The question is, what settings are chosen/set for screens 5-8 when they are supressed. Am I correct in assuming that the default settings will be applied? If so, how can I change these later on, say via a logon script and a .reg file. I don't want for example, to have "Share info with Microsoft and other services" (6 settings on that OOBE screen), all to be turned on by default.

Any help would be much appreciated.

This should show you the contents of Oobe folder. It should be there, it is a system folder creted when you install Windows 7. It's not hidden.

Hello all,

today my laptop 1 years old hp when i booted up it showed me a S.M.A.R.T. 301 error. i clicked enter and then booted to windows and a message appeared telling me to backup all my files due to the error. However i have run S.M.A.R.T. tests and i dont see any problem cause they can finish but every HDD monitoring software i try says there is an error cycle or sector read error 1 something like that.I have disabled he windows message to backup m files from apearing can i fix the problem withour replacing HDD or at least hide the bootup message from appearing cause BIOS dosnt have any option for it.My laptop hasnt fallen down at all so it is wierd in less than 1 year 9 months for this error to appear.

Thanks

A:Can a S.M.A.R.T. 301 error be fixed with software?

A drive can fail at anytime, 2 days or after 10 years. Try this, option 8. Disk Check
Then see if the message goes away and recheck with your HDD tests.
