Q: My Lenovo Edge 15 Battery still has 90,7% of it's ...

My Lenovo Edge 15 Battery still has 90,7% of it's cycles but it won't turn on without the charger and I think it is not chargging, from what I've read so far I believe it could be a blown up fuse, but before I try to fix that I wanna know if it could still be some software problem. Info> Battery Icon(onwin10) "87% available (plugged in, charging)" but it won't go up or down from 87% If I unplug the charger the laptop shuts down Battery indicater light> When turned off and just plugged in it blinks twice in orage and then it keeps blinking in white When turned on it stays lit white (wich happens when battery is at 100%) When I tried to update the bios it gave me a error saying that it could not proced with less then 30% battery but I removed that variable I was able to update the bios, but nothing change. I also made battery-energy.html file to find out what the problem could be but I still don't know what it is.------------------------battery-energy.html all text------------------------------------------------------------------????? ------------------------battery-energy.html all text------------------------------------------------------------------ If anyone knows what the proble might be I would really apreaciate the help, thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Recently my Lenovo 15 Edge (no longer under warrranty) and with a sealed in battery NOT in battery conservation mode is not charging when plugged in. I have gone through the forum looking for a solution. I cannot remove the battery like many suggest and I have installed the Lenovo power managment and checked that it is NOT in covservation mode. I have also checked that Windows Power Options is not in conservation mode. When I got to Lenovo Power Settings it alternates between battery is good and battery not installed. I have also tried calibrating the battery with no success. I have spent close to 5 hours working on this with no solution. Please help or send a Lenovo support contact number so I can call someone (even though it is not under warranty). This laptop is only a little over a year old and required for my business and now down to 16% battery life. Thanks so much.

A colleague gave me his Lenovo Edge 2-1580 laptop to look at due to a charging problem he just encountered.  He said it started acting up about 3 weeks ago.  With the adapter plugged in, it quit charging (even though it registers as "plugged in, and charging").  He bought a new charging adapter, which did not fix the problem.  Then he bought a new battery, with the same results.  Then he gave it to me, and I am completely stumped. Both batteries are completely dead, with no way of charging them at all.  The laptop will run, as long as the charging adapter is plugged in.  I have tried every trick I could locate online, to no avail.  I might add, the laptop is not under warrenty, that ended on 2-20-17.  As a last resort, I did a OneKey Recovery, and took it back to factory settings, just in case some download may have affected it.  Still the same problem.  I am starting to think it is a motherboard issue, but as I said, it is out of warrenty.  Anyone have any ideas??  I have seen it change occationally from "plugged in, charging" (which is usually what it says, and isn't addressed that much online at all) to "plugged in, not charging" (which is talked about quite a bit).  But as stated before, all the tricks mentioned under those site, I have tried and nothing works. Would greatly appreciate ANY advise you could offer.  Right now it is a good paper weight that has to be plugged in all the ... I bought lenovo y500 two days ago in INDIA.  In the lenovo energy management system 8.0, I found a battery calibration option and decided to do it.  The steps mentioned there were as follows. 1. Full charge2. Full discharge  The process performed full charging followed by complete discharge of the battery which caused the laptop to shut down.   When I tried turning on my laptop, it could not start.  The battery charging indicator LED wasnt switched on even though the power cord was inserted into the laptop.  I could start the laptop only after removing the battery.   Once the laptop was on, I inserted the battery back in and it began to charge.  After about 50% of charging, I removed the power cord and inserted it again.  Now the battery couldnt resume charging.  I again had to shut down the laptop and repeat the above steps of inserting battery after switching on the laptop without battery.  Only then the battery would resume charging. After this, I decided to allow the battery to charge to 100%. But, the charging remained stuck at 99% and could not fully charge the battery.  When I removed and reinserted the power cord, the same problem persisted of battery not resuming charging. Please help me with this problem.  I read on few forums about uninstalling microsoft ACPI which supposedly solves this issue.  However, ACPI returns back after I restart my laptop.I also tried switch... A:LENOVO Y500 BATTERY NOT CHARGING AFTER USING LENOVO'S BATTERY GAUGE CALIBRATION

ADMIN Edit - While the original post below is marked as the solution, because service will be required if the battery will no longer charge after performing a battery reset, I am adding a Lenovo update here to confirm.   Normal operation will allow the battery to relearn its capacity characteristics when using the battery reset function.  Typically this is not needed in normal use..   Batteries are equipped with a safety feature that will permanently disconnect them (like a fuse) if cell imbalance or an internal short is detected.   This tends to be statistically infrequent, but also normal, and would require a battery replacement.  (Batteries have a 1 year warranty).   This battery feature can also  produce similar results to what is being discussed in the thread, so it should first be considered by service.   This particular  forum discussion also involves a situation that could affect a limited number of systems, and could lead service to replace the system board during warranty.

If your system experiences these symptoms, please contact service during the warranty period.

Good evening! I have a Lenovo Edge 2 that has been babied since purchased. Never abused, dropped, no scratches or dents, it's in fantastic condition still. I purchased the extended warranty, hoping I'd never need it.Last year, it stopped charging properly. The battery power dropped to 0%, and hasn't increased since. The machine will only power on when plugged in to AC power, and will immediately power down when the adapter is disconnected. The charging status indicator LED on the right side of the machine flashes orange in a non-steady, intermittent pattern, and the charging indicator in the taskbar in Windows 10 does the same thing. I returned the machine to Best Buy, they sent it to their "Geek Squad" facility for repairs, and the AC Adaptor and battery were replaced, under warranty. The machine was returned to me, and still doesn't charge.I contacted Lenovo, they advised I would need to return it to their facility for repairs. I put it in the provided box, and dropped it off to FedEx on 6/24/17. It's now been 2 weeks. I contacted Lenovo to inquire about the status of the repair, and was told "The technician found evidence of damage, and the upper case will need to be replaced as well, but damage isn't covered under warranty, so you'll need to cover the cost of the repair." I asked for the price, was told "A technician will email you with the price." I inquired about the status of the original repairs, they told me the claim was on hold, pending my review and... Read more

Using Windows 10 version 1511 and all updates.  Used the Lenovo System Update and everything has been updated.  I wanted to turn on the built-in camera on my Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 530, the F5 key, and it came up with a message saying, "This key combination opens the Lenovo Settings Program. Even the Lenovo System Update program has it and I also downloaded it.  I restarted the laptop again and it still doesn't work. I then went to install the Lenovo Settings App on the Windows store and it doesn't look like the right one plus it still didn't work. My other problem is with the Lenovo Companion App from the Windows Store.  It worked before but now it ask to "Please install or update the Lenovo System Interface Driver for full functionality of Companion, then restart the app after installation."  I have installed the Lenovo System Interface Driver multiple times and it still popped up that message.  Yes, I have restarted the laptop and Companion.   Is there a reason why these issues are happening and how to fix it?  Thank you in advance.

Hi All, I foolishly ran the Lenovo software update tool and one of the updates that installed was battery firmware v1.13. The update failed part way through and ever since my battery is having an existential crisis - I know it's plugged in and 100% charged but it reads 0% (or sometimes a red X) and the machine shuts down when AC power is removed. Being out of warranty the phone line people just keep trying to sell me a new battery and have no ideas on how to fix the existing one. I've tried the firmware update multiple times but with no joy. Also tried sourcing previous versions of the firmware which doesn't work. My battery was not one of those listed for recall. Latest and best suggestion was that it may be a motherboard issue and I could confirm by plugging in a different battery to see if it works - with absolutely no suggestion who would let me borrow their battery and plug it into my possibly killer machine. Has anyone else had a similar problem and found a fix? Is anyone based in Perth, Western Australia and want to let me experiment with their battery? {you crazy fool!} Does anyone know how to contact an actual Lenovo person rather than the useless call centre (1800 041 267 from Australia, seemingly connecting to Malaysia or Thailand judging by the accents)? Consumer law in Australia would suggest these guys owe me a new battery regardless of warranty status but I don't know how I can force the issue if I can't even speak to them???&... This happened to me today. The solution is to restart the computer and enter the BIOS.  Then use the arrow keys to move to the config tab, then down to the power option, hit enter, scroll down to the disable built-in battery, hit enter, then follow dirctions on the right.  You will unplug the power cord to shut down the computer and when you plug it back in and turn it back on the battery will be recognized.  if not , try the process again as it took me two tries.  hope this helps.

Edge 2-1580.  When on battery power, screen goes blank after 10-30 minutes of use.  Very consistent, happens every time I try to use it on battery power.  Computer is still running.  Keyboard backlight still toggles.  Power button light still on.  Screen still backlit, just blank.  Will not wake up with mouse, key press, or pressing power button.  Will not turn on when I plug in power cord.  I have to hold power button to force power off, and then it starts up normally.  Does not occur when running in Safe Mode. I have tried updating any drivers that I thought had to do with display, energy management, etc.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers.  I have adjusted power settings to keep screen and hard drive always on.  I have updated BIOS.  I have factory reset.  Nothing works.  Please help!

The battery status toggles between not charging, not used, and unauthorized battery after it was calibrated using one key. Before that, the battery was working perfectly, lasting close to 5 hours. Now the laptop shuts off when unplugged and the battery status is constantly changing. I've had this laptop for approximately a year now and it was unused and left in an unopened box for the first 8 months.

Battery Issue - Lenovo V570 (Laptop) - Battery Model L09S6Y02

First off I for the most part do not use the battery. It is normally detached from the laptop. I only attach it to periodically charge it and test prior existing charges' performance.

O.K. here is the problem. I attach battery attachment, computer does not make it to the window screen more often than not. When it does, it freezes at the please wait loading screen.

I rarely use the battery at all, but I want all my equipment up and functional. It's life should still be good for I periodically recharge it. I think since I've had the laptop I've only recharged it a total of 6 or 7 times and that's been a year or so.

I, for the moment at least have the battery working power adapter attached. What did I do? I uninstalled Avast (freeware version) ?

I learned from prior experience that running two of any system utility software can cause problems, but it normally restricts itself to what it is protecting. Then I remembered: "If you remove the possible whatever is left however in probable must be the truth."

Next phase of testing is test the battery on it's own.

Despite the manufacturer's claim of 7 hours battery life on my Lenovo Ideapad 320S-14IKB - 81BN (S/N: MP1CHQTJ), I only get around 3-4 hours. This is with light usage, Reddit, a little bit of youtube etc. CPU usage was mostly around 0-5% the entire time. This was with the max CPU state in power settings reduced from 100% to 85%. However, I do have the screen at 100% brightness. As a different test, I tried doing (almost) nothing (apart from keeping the screen bright), and got 6 hours out of the battery. Is there a simple solution to increase this? It's only a 30 Wh battery (2 cell). Maybe in the future, a 60 Wh (4 cell?) one will come out for this model?

Ever since yesterday I've had this problem, I tried several solutions and none of them worked. Basically the problem is: The laptop only works on battery now. When the battery is at 0% the laptop turns off even if the AC is plugged in. To make matters worse, when the laptop is on I get this message "plugged, not charging". So basically the AC no longer works by itself and only charges the battery when the laptop is off. Here is what I tried so far:- Changing the settings on the Lenovo Energy Mangement tool- Uninstalling the Lenovo Energy Mangement tool - Taking off the battery and AC, pushing the power button for 30 seconds, putting them back in and turning on the laptop.- Starting the laptop on safe mode- Praying to God None of these things worked. I recently purchased an x230 and everything is perfect but the battery fit.  It moves up and down slightly.  I know there are many posts in the lenovo forums for all different models that the battery fits lose in "x" model and solutions of putting paper / foam / tape to make the battery fit tighter.   What I'm wondering is if anyone has actually had the problem fixed by lenovo.  I've read a few posts where a user has had the base piece of the case replaced (where the battery fit's into) and that has solved the problem.  I'm still within my return period on my x230 and am awaiting a call back from tech support to see if there is anything they will do but I don't think I will keep it if they can't fix it.   I'm just curious has anyone actually had luck by replacing the base piece.  From what i've read a replacement battery hasn't worked for anyone.  Also, I know everyone says its by design for thermal purposes but I haven't actually seen any official confirmation of this from lenovo.   Thanks.

A:Battery Loose / Battery wiggle in x230 and LENOVO ...

As a follow up, I'm just curious if this is a widespread issue?  Anyone have loose battery in their x230 / x220?  I'm not talking about it falling out...but just a few millimeters of wiggle room.  Basically when i pick mine up or place it down, I can feel / hear the battery move.  I'm just trying to get an idea if this is a real problem or thats just how every thinkpad is.  I called support and they are sending someone to replace the base panel and we'll see if that fixes it.  I'll update this post when it get's replaced.   Edit* I also asked the lenovo support rep if they had heard of this issue and they said no, never.  I don't see how this is possible as if you do a google search for thinkpad loose battery there are many results.

Hi everyone! Is it ppossible to buy NEW battery form my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro 13 Notebook? It uses the L12M4P21. I looked at many places but all the batteries are made in 2003 or 2004. As I know they loose their performance if they sit on the shelf for many years... Is it possible to find really newly made original Lenovo battery for my laptop?

A:I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro 13, I need a new battery... but NEW, not battery that was made in 2004!

Hi Moksa,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It may be hard to say as because of the age of the model but you can try calling in EMEA parts sales desk for your region (Hungary 30 722-37-91). On the battery sticker is also the battery manufacturer which you can try but I am not as optimistic for newer manufactured battery.

I would say that as long as they provide the standard battery one year warranty, then it would be a good option to go.

I hope this helps answer your query.

When I turned my Edge 15 (80H1) off the other day, it was working fine.  I went to turn it back on the next day, and all I got was the power light blinking slowly (approx. 1 second intervals).  When it is plugged in the light that usually indicates it's plugged in isn't on any more.  I can't get th power light to stop blinking when it's not plugged in.  The only way to get it to stop blinking is if I plug it in (still blinking) and then remove the power cord (then it stops), but of course won't power up.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello, My Lenovo Edge 2 laptop goes to a dark blue/black screen with no warning.  There is nothing I can do then except for press the on/off button for several seconds to make the screen go black completely and shut off.  Then I restart by pushing the on/off button.  Then it will work for a few minutes or a few hours. Any help wil be appreciated! Keith

Screen got cracked. Touch screen was obviously affected. Where the impact occured on the screen is where the laptop thinks someone is touching. Sent it into Best Buy and they quoted $720 to fix. Was hoping to find a compatable screen on Amazon that I could purchase and have Best Buy replace for $50. Any ideas? It's a Edge 15 Laptop model 80H1

I also have the same problem and would appreciate any instructions that could be provided on how to replace the cracked digitizer/screen.

Hi there. The wifi kicks in an out every 15-30 minutes, and it's driving me insane. 80K90011US Preinstalled Windows 10 (When I do auto-detect on Lenovo's site it only offeres me windows 7 and 8 as options. Why is the computer installed to 10?) If you need any other numbers to assist, please let me know. I saw some posts indicated a BIOS update, but would appreciate the confirmation which one I should be using, if in fact that's the issue.  Really just bought a few months ago, so hoping this isn't a long-term issue. Thanks.

I have a very strange issue with my processor underclocking. The factory specs for this laptop state my processor is the intel i7 500U @ 2.4GHz. Which it does fine and has perfect performance. Unless my laptop is under 20 percent AND plugged in (yes, plugged in, not on battery). I fmy laptop gets low on charge and drops below 20 percent I can hardly use it at the same time it is charging because it underclocks my cpu to a max clock of .5GHz rendering my laptop extremely sluggish even when doing simple operations. Once it has charged to 20 percent or above I have to disconnect the charger and then the cpu will throttle back up and then I can reconnect the charger without it underclocking until next time it has dropped below 20 percent and I plug it in. Please tell me if you have a suggested fix or if this may be a hardware problem (which seems a little unlikely). For the record I have played around with every option in the advanced power settings and have it on high performance mode and everything but nothing fixes it. Thanks in advance, Alex

So my new Lenovo Edge 15 Laptop makes this weird chirping sound whenever audio is played through the speakers or earphones. This static "chirping" sound is not too loud but loud enough to be heard even when I played a video on youtube via the speakers and/or earphones. The sound seems to come from the ventilation slots as shown in the picture below. Anyone also have this problem? Also if anyone has a possible solution or explanation to this please post because if it is potentially something wrong with my laptop, I wanna know.

I have a Lenovo Edge 2 1580 that will not turn on. There is no LED light, no fan cycles, nothing. Its like the laptop is completely dead. I have tried unplugging the battery and pressing the power button for many seconds, and nothing has happened. What can i try next. I believe the laptop is still under warranty so should I send it to them, or send it back to the seller?
