I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:Microsoft Accounting Express 2009

Possible: maybe. It wasn't even supported on Windows 7 so you're really looking at a crapshoot. It certainly won't play nice with SQL12, that's for sure.

When the user tries to login into their laptop whether cabled into our domain network or not, they receive a message "there are currently no logon servers available to service this request".  but if cabled into the network and they wait 5 minutes, they
are able to sign in without issue but it takes 2 to 3 minutes to load the page.  I signed into the laptop with my domain admin account and received the same message as the user, but when we tried cabled in (5 minutes later), i was able to sign in without
issue.  The troubleshooting steps:
1.  Updated the network driver today (still receiving same result)
2.  Re-added the computer to the domain today (still receiving same result)
3.  the event viewer is showing the 5719 NETLOGON message and also 1129 (but the user has been receiving this for a number of months)
4.  The only thing we haven't tried is creating a new user profile but the only reason I don't see that working is because if its happening with my domain admin account it can't be a profile issue.

Any ideas of what could be causing this and is there a fix for it?  I do see there is a hotfix but wasn't sure if we should run it or not.

Hi guys

My dad passed away about 10 years ago and left behind his old PC which he originally had XP home on (found disks) and he seems to have upgraded it to XP professional (cant find disks for).

My step mum kept hold of the PC for years, and hasn't been touched until i brought it home.

I know my way around a PC but I am no where near an expert on these things so please speak in as simple terms as possible,

As far as I can work out, I cant upgrade any programmes on the machine without getting kernel.dll errors and I cant install any programs as all the programs requires service pack 2.

Now i am on XP professional service pack 1a win32 from what I can figure out. I have tried on two occasion to download what I thought was the correct service pack 2 file to no avail. last one i didn't realise was an x64 version and hadn't spotted it.

Anyhow...why do i want to go to all this bother.

well my dad was a photographer, and he has literally 1000's negatives and slides and before he died he started to scan them on using a special machine. now call me sentimental but i want to finish the job he started using his original equipment. Now I need to update the service pack so I can update the browsers etc etc. The machine will mostly not be on the internet except to update essential files, as i am aware of the security risks.

Would you be able to point me in the right direction regarding links to the correct service packs?
Could anyone help?

Hello everyone, I have a somewhat serious problem. I have XP Media Center Edition 2005 preinstalled in my laptop. A week ago one of the programs that was preinstalled in my laptop messed up so since Dell didn't provide me with a cd for reinstallation for the program, I used the cd they gave me with the laptop which is XP Professional Service Pack 2 to update reinstall. What haapened is that now that I start up my laptop, a black screen comes up & ask me which operating system would I like to use to start up. If I choose the Professional Pack, it would restart again. If I use the Media Center, it would run fine. I contacted Dell & they sent me the right program for my laptop which is the Media Center Edition 2005 DVD. My question is that is there any way that I could possibly safely remove the XP Professional Pack from my laptop & stay with my Media Center 2005???? Any help would be sooo appreciated. Thank you.

Okay I've just become a member today and I have a standalone office computer that is running very slow and sluggish. I'm considered pretty computer literate so in most cases I'm able to fix most of the computers issues myself. Yesterday I thought the first thing to be done was remove some of the programs that are installed that we no longer use. For instance I removed the google toolbar and the msn toolbar. I also removed an old Canon printer program because we have a newer HP printer. I removed some of the HP printer programs we have never accessed as well. I did a disk cleanup and removed the temporary internet files and the browsing history. Now I am ready to do the Disk Defragment but every time I get the progam openned and click on defragment or analize an error message with the red button and an X through it comes up and the message reads "Disk Defragment does not start". I tried rebooting the system but nothing worked. I also went to Microsoft Windows but there wasn't any solutions for my problem. I did a internet search and I read about various fixes but none were for this particular error message. I tried opening it from several locations on my C drive but every time the same error appeared. I browsed to see if there was a download to reinstall the Disk defragment file but to no avail. Is there someone with a solution to this error? I think if we could defrag the C drive most of the problems with the programs loading slowly would run better... Read more

Please advise: I use Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 (purchased with educational discount) on my Windows XP Home edition notebook on SP 1. So I've had a bit of trouble lately with gaming applications and crashes.

Some of the applications work fine, in fact most work just fine. Occasionally I will get a blue screen on the demo for FIFA 11 PC. The reason I am posting this here, and not a FIFA forum, is that this error is recurring from the past, and occasionally appears in other applications too.

It should be noted my specs are single core and the requirements want dual core. However I have been able to sneak by the requirement in the past for other games such as GTA IV and MLB 2k10 by putting graphics on low or medium, and not maxing anything out. Neither game really has trouble. But the FIFA 11 demo is the most troublesome of all. This demo gives me frequent blue errors whenever I play.

The blue error involves a Paged Fault in Non Paged area. I don't have a clue what this means.

I have had issues with this error before in the past. Previously, I had attempted chkdsk to attempt to fix memory and rectify the issue. The problem was dormant for a while, but with the FIFA 11 demo it has erupted in full force.

I will run the application and it will work fine, but at times it will just go to blue screen in game. Other times it will blue screen after I alt+tab. One thing in common, the computer is a bit slower before the blue screen crashes the computer, which leads me to believe this may be a memory issue.

I am strongly suspicious my computer cannot run this game but just to make sure, what advice w... Read more

I am trying to install Windows XP pro SP3 on my Panasonic CF-U1, using an external USB DVD drive, and it seems to install properly up until the first install screen at the "installing windows" stage. I seem to keep getting the error "The file "asms"on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 CD is needed." I've tried to type in the direct path to the file (D:\i386) but that does not seem to work. I've also tried to open regedit in command prompt, but that doesn't work either. I am very confused, if anyone has any answers I'd love to hear thanks.

A:The file "asms"on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 CD is needed.

I believe this could be a bad optical drive or corrupt media.
Do you have another USB CD rom drive? If not then try switching cables if the drive allows.
You can try the iso for XP pro SP3 in this BC post.  Use the first link, not the second. If you have a iso manager you should be able to pull what files you need or burn the iso file at the slowest speed available and pull the files.
Does the computer allow booting from a USB flash drive? If you have the XP SP3 iso file use Rufus to create a bootable USB flash drive. Use a MBR partition scheme in the dropdown box and leave all boxes as checked. Click iso image and browse to your iso file. Press Start.

Does anyone have a link from Microsoft's Website that you can download the XP Service Pack 3 for an offline installation? I am helping someone with a fresh install of XP and they have dial up, so when they go to the Microsoft Update page, it times out (gives an error).

Thanks in advance.

I just read that Vista Service Pack 1 RC1 will expire on June 30th this year, and everyone who has it will be required to uninstall it and install the final version of SP1. I installed SP1 a while back, but I can't remember if I installed the release candidate or the final version. I need to know though so I can go ahead and uninstall RC1 (if that is the version I have) and install the final. Is there anyway I can tell which version of the service pack I have??? Either RC1, or the final version. I just can't remember. Thanks.

Problem: Transferring data to a new computer from a customized MS ACCESS 97.

Can I install a newer version, possibly the latest version, into the new computer, than transfer the customized data from the old computer?

E-mail help appreciated.

A:Microsoft Access 97 to latest version

this is a public forum where helping one could help others with the same problem so private email support is a no-no.

As far as moving customized data from 97 to the latest version. It depends. Theres been alot of changes over the years and between versions with access. It may make it intact and it may not. I had a database that did not remain intact between 97 and 2003 because of the macros and formulas that was in it.

The only way to know for sure is to give it a try.

I've been trying to install the service pack 1, used the system update readiness tool, but even if it installed properly it failed while configuring windows updates at 99% so it did a reverse changes.
I have the 2 CBS logs.
Can I post them somewhere, cause here the characters are limited.
Can anyone help me figure out what the problem is and if I can fix it myself?
Thank you in advance for your answer

I'm trying to install this new service pack. It says to put in my word 2002 disc so the install process can access a file called wordret.msi

This file is not on my Office XP Version 2002 (3 discs) for students and teachers, nor is it on my original Works Suite 2002 (1 disc) that came with my Medion computer.

What now?

I have attempted to download the latest version of Auslogics BootSpeed 4 but an error message 'Windows NT Version 5.0.2195 Service Pack 3 or later is required' shows after downloading and installation steps appear to have completed.
Searching MS Updates shows no definate solution to this problem. I am running Windows XP Home SP3 and updates from MS are current. SP3 has been uninstalled and re-installed but this did not cure the problem.
Any suggestions to resolve this problem will be most welcomed.

Hi, I'm having trouble downloading the SP3 for my Windows 2000 pro (No service pack incl). everytime I download from the Microsoft site using express download and install it will get a error message. I'd tried it 3 times.

Is there a site or another way I can download a FULL VERSION of the SP3. So I don't have to depend on the internet to download files during the install?

Please help. Thanks in Advance.

Hey there,I've got the same scenario on both my old/current XP Home and new/replacement (most likely going back) XP Pro laptop.Add/Remove Programs lists these two things:Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB928366) When I go to Windows Update, it shows that I successfully installed this:Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB928366)So I'm guessing that's the same as the Hotfix listed above in Add/Remove Programs? But the actual .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 is not listed in Add/Remove Programs. Is it supposed to be?I know some people were having issues with this stuff -- so I wanted to make sure I was okay security-wise here (or if I need to do that unintall and reinstall everything scenario). I don't use this .NET Framework stuff (nor know what it's for). I just want to make sure the computer is secure. Thanks!

A:Question About .net Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (kb928366)

Hey there,

Here's the update for anyone who has a similar question...

I talked to Microsoft, and it appears you don't need to have Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 listed in Add/Remove Programs. If Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB928366) came up for you on Windows Update and you installed it successfully, that means you already had Service Pack 1 on your computer. The listing in Add/Remove Programs for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 actually encompasses Service Pack 1.

Hope that helps anybody with the same question I had...

Take care.
