I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I just recently my stock 630i to a SSHD (Samsung) and Win 10. It works fine, but apparently doesn't communicate as well as it should. Magician said there was a communication problem.
Samsung support said I needed 'storage controller drivers' to be updated for Win 10.
But I couldn't find any Win 10 drivers for the XPS.
Are there any?
Thanks.

A:XPS 630i, Windows 10, Need storage controller drivers

Marky62,
Unfortuntely, this 630i is not supported with Windows 10 by Dell. This means Dell did not create any Windows 10 drivers for the computer.
Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade
Dell is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for this product. If you choose to upgrade, some features, applications, and connected devices may not work as expected.

I've been deploying windows 7 for quite some time without issue with MDT.  I'm generally familiar with storage driver issues but this machine has me stumped.
After successfully booting to PXE windows PE environment and loading the image to the drive, I keep getting hit with the "Windows failed to start, IASTORA.SYS, 0xc0000098, Required file in missing or corrupt" error on the first reboot.   -So it appears the wrong storage driver is loading.
I have done the following:
I have realized the machine name changed from Precision 'T5810' to 'Tower 5810' (So my driver selection profile is correct)
Driver selection profile is both the 5810 CAB as well as files loaded from the service tag page -I've attempted to scale back older drivers thinking that perhaps an older bad copy is loading.  I think I'm loading v4.3
I've injected drivers into the WIM image using DISM just in case. (including the Samsung NMVe drivers)
I've attempted to use windows repair -it can't find the issue... also loaded drivers there without helpful results.
Drivers (I think) are the intel drivers with Plug and Play ID VEN  8086,  DEV 8D62
-I verified this because I can load windows 7 using the recovery DVD and there I saw the storage drivers loaded...
For everything above I have cycled between SATA emulation ATA, ACHI, RAID
BIOS looks good I think.. Secure boot is off, legacy options on.... Nothing umping out at me
It's drivi... Read more

Having issues with RAID0 array being detected by Windows7 Ultimate x64 as SCSI. Apparently these drivers are the 'default' drivers that install when the RAID array is initialized. There is no option at this point to install other drivers instead.

Using DeviceManager, there is an option to 'update drivers', and regardless of the method chosen, even selecting the file for a previously-downloaded set of drivers, Windows7 always comes back with a message of "Windows has determined that the best drivers for your system are already installed". Considering that SCSI drivers are the OLDEST ones out there, and actual SCSI devices are becoming rarer and rarer, how is it that these drivers cannot be replaced with more current and more applicable drivers?

Does anyone know of a usable workaround to install non-SCSI drivers to replace the default ones?

Thanks in advance!

A:Replacing SCSI storage drivers with IDE or SATA drivers

If this is for the motherboard listed in your specs, you need to install the AMD RAID driver,

AMD Chipset Drivers

May also want to install the chipset driver while you're at it if you haven't.

Hello, I took delivery of my new ThinkPad X270 three days ago. It is a 20HN model, and it has the 512 GB Intel SSD, with Windows 10 Pro. One of the problems I am having with the machine is that it randomly freezes for a few seconds intermittently. I read on the Microsoft forum that one solution to this was to check of Intel Rapid Space Technology was installed. In my device manager, I noticed that Rapid Storage Technology was missing. Instead, only the Microsoft Storae Spaces Controller and Standard NVM Express Controller are visible. Then there are no IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers in the device manager, either. I downloaded the driver for Intel RST from the Lenovo web site and installed it, but when I rebooted my systel the storage controllers were still the same Microsoft ones, and the Intel RST was still not showing in the Device Manager. I also re-installed the chipset software, but the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers didn't show up either. This was all on a clean install of Windows 10. I already tried using the native troubleshooter app on Windows 10 as well as running an SFC scan, neither of these fixed the problem. Coud someone advise what I should do to install Intel RST?

I have a Lenovo k540e model with an i7 4790 CPU and integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600. I upgraded to Windows 10, and then when I tried to download the correct drivers using the Intel Driver Update Tool, it downloaded the drivers and started the installation. Right as the proper drivers were installing, my computer screen completely wiped then started flashing RGB colors. I had to manually shut off my computer and restart it, and I noticed decreased performance in games. Apparently I had installed the wrong drivers and should have gone to Lenovo's website, but I'm really confused on what drivers to download and how to install them. I'd really appreciate if someone guided me to the proper driver download. Thanks, Tyler.

I created a Storage pool with the following setup. Three 3TB drives with parity all in an external enclosure with eSata and USB 2/3 ports. It was connected via USB when created and had production data loaded and tested without any issues.
After a few days of use I decided to see what happened when I tried to access it via the eSata port. No luck, due to a driver on the eSata card issue with Win 8. So I powered all back down and plugged back in via USB. At this point the Storage pool went

I am really struggling getting this Lenovo X260 to work on Windows 8.1, i do not wish to use Windows 10 so i can not verify if the issue presists there. Basically SVChost will crash randomly when all drivers are installed, i have reinstalled twice so there's nothing wrong with the installation, i have found the issue to be directly related to the built in windows service "Program Compatability Assistant" My solution has been to disable this service, but i think the issue it self is with lenovos faulty drivers. Other annoyances i've found with this laptop is: 1. Bios post time is way to long, literally 5 seconds of watching a black screen, my old lenovo x220 boots around 3 times faster then this new pc, i expect better faster things when they are new but nope. 2. Placement of the FNkey is absolutely horrible, i honestly wish the fnkey was placed among the hardware keys above the keyboard if you ever think of re-introducing them.. ctrl +c / ctrl + v > any FN key. Things that were better then the old x220: Delete key placement is better, top right corner as it should be, thanks for one improvement  Now fix your **bleep** drivers, you cannot stop supporting a 1 year old OS just because microsoft is pushing 10 on us.

Why wont lenovo work to make drivers for window 10 for its entire line. This is just poor customer service, We have 2 other laptops in the family that did not originally come with 10 but have been able to switch over to 10 with minimal problems( just going to the manufactures website and getting correct drivers) Lenovo does not seem to care about the customer once they have made the purchase. They sell us a product with windows on it and if you are using auto update it automatically would upgrade you to win 10, I was able to make my laptop work fine with windows 10 initially but this last build it will not work. Lenovo has been zero help, just endless conversations on the phone and being transfered from one person to the next. Why cant they just have an option to email someone about these driver problems or just admit they will not release/updated drivers for 10 and make and official statement that 10 will not be supported ever on older models I thinks the customer service is pathetic and now know why apple has such big market share.

Dear everyone, I have just installed fresh copy of Windows 10 and when I tried to install some drivers I was quite surprised that there are no win 10 drivers in general. Most of the stuff on the U400 works as it is after the windows installation but it seems that the Touchpad is not being detected since I cannot install any drivers and Device Manager detects something called PS/2 Compatible Mouse. When I tryied Win 8 drivers it seems to work and I was able to use two-finger scrolling but after couple of minutes the Touchpad would just quit on me and Tap-to-Click would just stop working. Anyway, I would just like some advice on what to do about drivers for U400 on Win 10. Thank you in advance,Nikola

Hey everyone,
I have a problem. I have an A8N-VM/S mobo. I know its old. I am trying to load win 7 on it and the "No drives were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation." I tried an official win 7 pro dvd, I tried a bootable win 7 usb and still no luck. I went to Asus' website and click on win vista64 OS and only drivers available was the ACPI, and BIOS drivers.

My conclusion is that this mobo is so old and it wasn't meant to have win 7 installed on it. If anyone has ever ran to this issue or anything similar, some feedback or advice would be much appreciated

Are the drives are detected in BIOS?  Make sure the SATA ports are enabled. You may want to get a new CMOS battery and use the jumper to clear CMOS too. Here is the Manual

http://www.manualslib.com/manual/10083/Asus-A8n-Vm.html

Edit: The only mass storage drivers I have found for the nforce 410/430 are for Vista and XP. It seems Windows 7 should have those as part of the OS.

Edit: If the drives are detected in BIOS and SATA ports enabled,  I found this. Hopefully you can strip out the basic sata drivers out.

Hey all, I recently installed an SSD in my old y580 laptop and reinstalled windows 10 but windows is registering the touchpad as a mouse plugged into the PS/2 port. As such, the touchpad inputs are far from optimized and no multi-finger gestures are being recognized (including scrolling  ). The previous HDD recently died but definitely used elan/synaptics drivers. I've had this problem occur on other Lenovo laptops and I've seen others posting about it on here, but never for the y580 and I've never been able to solve it. I've downloaded all of the touchpad drivers on the support page for my serial number but none of them go up to windows 10 and all of them result in an error message that reads that the Realtek Bluetooth Suite isn't compatible with this version of windows. I've also downloaded 15-20 different drivers for windows 10 elan/synaptics touchpads from varying newer lenovo laptops but none of them recognize my touchpad either. Any help would be super appreciated.

I have a Lenovo Edge 15 on Windows 8.1

The new laptop came with preinstalled software and drivers. However I prefer to do a fresh Windows 8.1 install without the Lenvo drivers/software. After doing fresh install, I prefer to go to Lenvo's support site and download and install the drivers manually.

How can I do a fresh install? The OneKey feature will for sure will install the drivers/software from the hidden partition which I don't want. I know Windows 8 has the reset feature, however, I am unsure if it will also install the drivers/software from Lenovo.

Also, I want to ensure that the reset feature won't damage/delete the hidden OneKey partiation.

Is it possible to do a fresh install without doing it from USB?

A:Fresh Windows 8 Install without Lenovo Drivers/Software

the onekey (recovery) partition contains the factory out of the box image.. And yes doing a Reset with onekey will rewrite all the factory software, drivers and bloatware..

If you wish to keep the factory setup for future use - Create a Recovery Drive - first..

Then you can do a clean install of windows 8.1 from USB or DVD and install the MFG's Drivers..

You can download 8.1 here > Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help

Yesterday we had a class presentation and my laptop was used to connect to the projector. So everyone in my class plugged their USB drives in my laptop. Every time a new USB drive was inserted, my laptop said hardware found and Windows would install a driver for that. Is this going to cause a problem? How do I uninstall these extra drivers? My laptop won't be using those USB drives ever again - other than my own one of course.

A:So many USB storage device drivers installed...

No, it won't cause any problems at all and the drivers will not load after they are unplugged.

But, if you want, you can actually remove these "phantom" drivers. I do it occasionally since it just makes sense that having fewer things to be checked on boot is going to speed things up.

You can use these to remove non-present devices:

USB Device Viewer
USBView
I also enable the viewing of so-called "phantom devices" in Device Manager (when the hidden devices are enabled under the View menu) so that all the drivers can be seen:

Hi,I purchased a ThinkCentre M900 to run Ubuntu.  The Lenovo support site (https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/pd031426) shows that the M900 has a Ubuntu 14.04 .iso for this machine.Based on that, I downloaded the iso image from here: https://certification.ubuntu.com/hardware/201608-25015/ and proceeded to overwrite the installed W10 image.Unfortunately, it boots up with no support for Ethernet or WiFi.  The output of 'ifconfig' shows only a loopback device; however lspci shows that the devices are on the pci bus and "lshw -C network" shows both the Ethernet and WiFi devices as UNCLAIMED.Since I have no network access on this machine, the attached file is a picture of the dumps from "lspci" and "lshw -C network"Can someone tell me how to straighten this out? Thanks,Ed

Hello-
I am really in a pickle. The short story is that I'm trying to do a clean install of Win 8.1 with a bootable USB and the first attempt, where I created partitions, failed. I'm trying again and it can't find a storage driver to even see the hard drive. I can see the install medium and the files stored there. Where do I look for a storage driver so I can see the hard drive again?

The long story-
Windows 8.1 drove me crazy. Every time it updated, it forced me to reinstall the OS. I went to Win 10, which worked great for a month or so, then an update crashed it and while trying to reinstall it, it reset to Win 8.1. I was so fed up I went to Ubuntu, which worked very well. Then I foolishly tried a workaround to run Skype on it and I messed up my system. I can't reload Ubuntu so I'm back to installing Win 8.1. See above notes for what happened from there.

Please help!

I've rebuilt a Win 7 box (new mobo, etc, and used Paragon with existing disk)... and all works well, except it won't install driver software for USB storage (SanDisk cruzer, generic smartcard adapter, or external USB 3 Dell SSD.)

It always gives me a driver not installed error, and the device shows up in DM with a yellow exclamation mark and Error 10.

I've tried different ports, cleaning the error with Driver Booster (says successful but driver still doesn't install), removed registry keys with "SanDisk" in them, updated all drivers, etc. I'm at out of ideas.

I can also move a USB mouse to the other USB ports, and the driver will install and work fine. It seems to be limited to any type of USB storage device.

Any help?

As I understood, you can boot on the cloned disk but you don't have USB? Is anything else on DM that needs a driver?
What is the brand and model of your new MB? Is it an Intel or AMD?
What chipset does it have?

Hi
I am trying to get Vista to load on a new system. I think the problem is mobo related. I have a Gigabyte 965p-DQ6 Rev. 3.3. When I try to load Vista, the drivers it is asking for are for the raid controllers, because the Western Digital caviar RE2 500Gb HD is seen by the bios but not by Vista. When I boot Vista, after the com. code is entered, it goes to a page that askes Where do you want to install windows? At the bottom of the page it states, NO DRIVES WERE FOUND. CLICK LOAD DRIVER TO PROVIDE A MASS STORAGE DRIVER FOR INSTALATION. I have downloaded the driver and tried to install them here but it will not let me. I was told that holding the F6 key just after post but before Vista disk boots, I should be able to load the drivers here but I can't. It takes me into the boot manager with no options to load drivers. Dose any one have any ideas what to do? I have tried just about every thing I can think of. Thanks for your help and have fun, Rick

A:Vista Looking For "mass Storage Drivers?"

Put the SATA drivers on a floppy as the mobo manual describes. Then go to Start and type in "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Locate the SATA controller, right click on it and select "Update driver software". In the next dialogs, tell it to search your computer (rather than on the internet) and point it to the floppy drive.
