I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Dear Lenovo-Community,my Thinkpad S1 Yoga change into tablet modus not only when I fold back the monitor but also when I have closed the lid normaly and than reopened it or sometimes by slightly moving the monitor or a minor percussion of the table. That is very annoying, because than I have no access to keyboard or touchpad while beeing in the laptop-shape. I can revive keyboard/touchpad by folding back the monitor and than back to the normal laptop shape, but this works only one time! After that I have to send the thinkpad in the energy saving mode and wake it up, to get keyboard/touchpad back.I think it is a problem with the sensor, but does there a software setting exist so keyboard/touchpad keep unlocked in tablet-modus? Or a way to switch off the tablet-modus completely? I can live without the tablet-modus and the thinkpad is probably too old to be worth a great repair. My system is fully updated. Any idea out there?

A:Yoga 500 doesn't switch to tablet mode

Hi Heck,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Windows 10 is definitely better designed to be used in table mode and switch between a table mode and computer mode use. Despite that I expected some learning curve, I found that the Windows 10 environment is immediately very intuitive to use. When in Windows 10, you can access the table-mode settings by navigating to Windows 10 Settings > System > Tablet Mode.

?

Also, Turns out there is a screen lock position button on the side. You might have pressed it by accident....that's what I did.

Let us know how you get on.
Regards,
Shashi

When I put my Yoga 260 in tablet mode, the cursor disappears. When I put it back in laptop mode, the cursor is still missing and the trackpad and trackball do not work. Lenovo what the heck? Can you please make drivers that work?

A:Yoga 260 Touchpad and Trackball not working after tablet mode

To add, I have to restart the computer to make them work again. I am almost absolutely sure it has to do with the Intel Integrated Sensor Solution drivers. They are not compatible with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

Hi

I was not able to find anything interesting on the support site of your model:
http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...

I checked the change on the ELAN drivers from 12/1/2016, but it does not says anything about the touchpad not recovering from tablet mode.
http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...

If you already installed this driver and didn't work, I don't have more ideas about it.

I spent way too much time to find out why my X1 Yoga 3rd gen would switch PowerPoint to slide show mode when I flipped the screen over. I scanned through all settings in PowerPoint, and applied my best GoogleFu. I went as far as searching for the following query: ("prevent powerpoint from switching" OR "stop powerpoint from switching" OR "powerpoint automatically switches" OR "powerpoint automatically starts the presentation" OR "powerpoint automatically starts my slide show") ("slide show" OR "presentation mode") tabletNo luck. It's annoying behavior though: when I'm preparing a presentation I often switch to tablet mode to add a sketch on the slide. Every time I do that on my X1 Yoga, I have to poke the pen at the screen to activate the PPT overlay buttons, try to hit 'exit slide show', acknowledge that no, I don't want to save the stray mark that I just made, and go back to the slide that I wanted to annotate. It's a pain.  It finally hit me today: if the machine does something weird and there's no evidence in the UI why, it's probably a Lenovo thing! (sigh) Lo and behold, if you open Lenovo Vantage, go to Hardware Settings, and then to Smart Settings, there it is.. "switch to the full screen mode on supported apps when your computer changes the operating mode". To Lenovo: this is great, but it's also VERY BAD to change the way how Windows works without telling the user that it's Lenovo doing it. Please add a UI overlay saying "hey, we started your pres... Read more

The hardware on my one month old Yoga 910-13IKB (Windows 10 Pro ver. 1703) is now stuck in what seems like tablet mode:The built-in keyboard does not work anymoreThe touchpad does not work anymoreThe screen is stuck in landscape mode and does not rotate when the laptop is in tent modeThe speakers are stuck with the awful tablet-mode sound qualityWhen I boot to the BIOS, the keyboard works with no issue. However, when the OS boots, it almost instantly switches to the previously described mode. If I spam the keyboard as the laptop boots, it briefly works (I can type 3-4 letters on the log in screen) and then instantly stops working. Things I have already attempted:Looking for an answer onlineRebooting the laptop multiple timesTurning the laptop off and then turning it on againUpdating the drivers (+ reboot)Reinstalling Yoga Mode Control (+ reboot)Opening/closing the lid from its closed state to the tablet state and everything in betweenThings I am reticent to do:Since this is a brand new machine, I do not feel comfortable fiddling with the actual hardware (i.e. opening it to remove a battery to do a hard reset)Suspected source of the issue:I think this has to do with the laptop believing that it's being booted while the hardware is in tablet mode (screen rotated all the way open) although it isn't. I am severely disappointed in how finicky this laptop is for the price...Thank you for any help

Hi all, I've noticed that my Yoga 910 is not auto rotatingwhen I set it to tent mode nor to tablet mode. Not only it doesn't auto rotate but it also keep the keyboard active... Not sure if this is a faulty sensor problem or just some bug. I've tried to follow the solutions presented in other topics but without success even tried a system restore but the problem is still here. I can't really identify which update has created this situtation but I know that when a couple of months ago it was still working. I also have the impression that more are affected, so could Lenovo release a patch to troubleshoot and solve such an important issue for a Yoga product (basically there is no Yoga functionality with this problem). Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Flex 4-1580, Win10 64bit. All updates installed. When working at my desk I keep the lid of the laptop closed and use an external keyboard, mouse, and monitor. When I open the lid, it asks if I want to go into tablet mode. Regardless of whether I say yes or no, the keyboard and touchpad are disabled. If I rotate the screen around to a "tent" or tablet configuration, the keyboard and touchpad start working. I have installed all updates I could find and tried manually toggling tablet mode but nothing helps. I would like to be able to use the computer as a laptop when I travel without having to use an external keyboard and mouse.

I've tried going into tablet settings and telling it to automatically switch without asking, but this also doesn't work.I'm wondering if maybe I missed a cruicial piece of software after I reformatted because it was working perfectly before, but I reinstalled everything available on the lenovo website and nothing helped.I've tried googling this problem over and over but I can never seem to find any answers, especially for this specific model.Really would appreciate help with this. When I fold the notebook into tablet mode, the keyboard turns off which makes sense and a prompt comes up for switching to tablet mode, but when I want to switch back, the keyboard doesn't come back on and I have to restart. The frustrating part is that quite often I get prompted to switch to tablet mode when I'm simply using the laptop normally (desktop mode), making the keyboard turn off and it doesn't turn back on again. I've tried suppressing tablet mode in the settings but now it just seems to turn off without even prompting, not solving the problem. Is there a way to manually force the keyboard on and off or a way to completely disable this function? Thanks

A:Touchpad not disabling in tablet mode- Inspiron 11 3000 series

I had the same problem with the Inspiron 11 3147 2-in-1 and discovered that it was because a program called Quickset was not running on start up. QuickSet is responsible for this icon in the task manager that alerts you when the keyboard is locked and unlocked. Evidently, it is also responsible for locking the trackpad when the swivel hinge exceeds 180 degrees. You can check to see if you have it by clicking the arrow on the task manager icons, clicking customize, and scrolling through the icons. There should be one there called QuickSet that says "Keyboard Unlocked."
Even if it is there, just to make sure its installed properly, go to the drivers page here:
Inspiron 3147 Drivers
Under "Applications (3 Files)," download "Dell QuickSet Application (14 MB)." Run this installer and it should ask you if you want to install, repair, or remove the program (assuming QuickSet was already installed). In this case, use the "repair" installation option. If QuickSet is not already installed, it will ask you if you just want to install.
After the installation. the QuickSet icon should now be visible in the taskbar (click on the small arrow to show all icons if necessary) and should be locking the trackpad in tablet mode.
To make sure QuickSet runs on start up, go to task manager (CTRL + SHIFT + ESC or just search for "Task Manager" in the charms bar). Hit "More details" and go to the "Startup" tab. QuickSet ... Read more

My organization requires ctrl-alt-del before signing in, and I have noticed there is no way to do so in tablet mode.  The screen also refers to a Windows Security Button, but I don't see any buttons that would fit that description.  I've seen on other threads for other Thinkpads that volume up + power works, but since there's no volume button on the 2nd Gen Yoga, I'm not sure what to do.  Really hoping unlocking won't always require flipping into laptop mode - a minor inconvenience but one I'd like to avoid.

I was really pleased with my Yoga 510 at first but it has quickly developed some annoying issues. Most annoying is how utterly usuable it is in tablet mode. Simple things like clicking into a textbox on a web page causes a five second day. Likewise clicking into the address bar or trying to move the cursor to a new position causes the same frustrating delay. Switch off tablet mode and it instantly works perfectly. Switch back to tablet mode and you're back to frustrating delays in everything you try and do. Is there anything you can suggest because i chose the Yoga for its ability to act like a tablet when required.

Hello, I just received a new Yoga 2 13, 8Gb, 256Gb SSD. I have been using it exclusively as a laptop. It worked just fine for a few days. I did notice once the screen flipped sideways and the keyboard turned off randomly but after turning the laptop on its side and back, everything went back to normal. Today, after closing the lid and putting the machine to sleep, then waking it up, it awoke in tablet mode with the sideways screen and turned off keyboard. To do anything I have to use the on-screen keyboard, which does work. Nothing I did could get it to go back to laptop mode, or for autorotate to ever work. Rebooted several times, no. The "Lenovo" signage does show correctly in landscape as soon as the machine turns on, but once it gets to the login window, it's back to sideways tablet mode. The auto-rotate button (which I had never touched prior) doesn't appear to do anything. I click the button, it says "autorotate off" then I click it again to "autorotate on" and still no rotation. I called Lenovo technical support, and he tried (after remote desktoping into my machine) to try a different display driver. The Windows "Basic" Driver, the Intel Driver from March 2014, and the latest Lenovo display drivers downloaded did nothing. He turned off "ycp" or something similar as a startup service, no help. In Screen Resolution, he changed the orientation of the display from portrait to landscape which did fix the orientation problem but did n... Ok... seems that disabling a Lenovo service called YMC (through the task manager) completely solves this issue with no negative effects. The service is in charge of disabling the keyboard in tablet mode etc., but it seems that it's redundant in Windows 10 (perhaps Windows controls this itself?). Disable, if it causes problems enable it again.
