I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: My hp 250 g4 won't turn on with the battery

Does the battery charge when the notebook is not turned on?That is the critical bit. If the battery does not have enough charge, it certainly won't be able to supply enough power to boot the notebook. How long have you had the notebook? If it has been a year or more, the battery might no longer be serviceable.

Hi!

I have lenovo ideapad g585gc 59-356202 e1-1200, dvdrw, 4gb, 500gb, radeon hd 7310m, 15.6" led, ....
Almost 2 years old.
Yesterday it didn't want to turn on, and then I took out the battery and try without it and then turned on and everything is ok.

So,
1. with battery (with or without ac power) won't turn on
2. without battery (of course, with ac power) turn on

The problem is evidently in the battery. I want to buy a new one, but how can I be sure that the battery is really dead?

A:Lenovo won't turn on with battery, without battery turn on!

There are no good practical ways the average owner can test the battery. You have to go on the evidence.

Hi,

I bought a new battery for my Sony Vaio (VGP-BPL9) about 2 months ago. It worked for a while, but all of a sudden my laptop would not turn on with my battery in there.

The battery is fine, it's new. How can I fix this?

A:Laptop will not turn on with battery

It could be that the Charger can no longer handle chrging the battery and running the laptop at the same time. But how have you confirmed that the battery is good? Just because it is only 2 months old? Or has it been tested in another compatible laptop to confirm this. Also did you buy this battery from Sony or some where else?

I've got an older Dell Latitude that I've turned into something of a netbook. It has to only have a 4 cell battery because it only last's an hour and a half give or take 15 minutes (depending on brightness).

How much battery life can I save by disabling Wi-fi? I don't have just a switch on the side of the laptop that I can turn off/on. By disabling it, I would go into Network Connections and right click on my wireless connection and disable it there? Would that save any battery life?

I do not have an original dell ac adapter. So when it boots the BIOS complains. After it boots in W10 it reports  adapter plugged in not charging.
If I unplug the adapter the screen dims, so I assume the adapter is working.

It's been plugged in and the battery light is on, going from orange to white, but otherwise there's no sign of life at all. The hardware manual here do offer power checkout guide (page 21-22) to help isolate the ac charger but since it can charge the battery from purple to white, then internal parts should be checked further.

T520 i7The Problem: Machine will not turn on when button is pushed.Steps Taken: New motherboard installed. Machine started up just fine. Turned it off and it would not power up when button was pushed. I unplugged the CMOS battery(the little watch battery) and plugged it back in and the power button works once again. Turn it off again and again it will not power up. If I leave the CMOS battery unplugged, then I can restart the machine, but only after I unplug the power cord and plug it back in; kind of like a reset between each poweroff/power on cycle. If laptop battery is inserted, it will not power on no matter what I do. It will only power on with the power cord. Laptop Battery checks out fine. I tried a new CMOS battery as well.Solution???

When I press the power button, nothing happens. When the adapter is plugged in, I can turn the laptop on. The adapter/battery LED is off, Windows say "plugged in, not charging". I ran battery test and system hardware test and everything's OK. I tried hard reset (pressing power button 30 sec) and it didn't help. Any advice? Thanks in advance

Last week the fuses in my bedroom suddenly blew. At the same time I heard a loud crack and the smell of burning and smoke. Nothing was on fire so I thought it was something in the wall. I checked the fuses, turned them all back on and everything was fine. I went back to my computer, finished with it and turned it to sleep mode. When I woke up the next day it wouldn't turn on again. Everytime I press the power button I see the light by the plug flash 3 times. I've looked this up and tried removing the battery, draining it of electricity... I've tried everything but I only get those 3 flashes. Have I maybe broken the charger and has my laptop drained of electricity? I can't think of anything else, but that the burning smell might have been from the charger. Can I check this somehow? Please help!!

Help please!I have borrowed this laptop from my college's library and it is set uups that it deletes everything every time it turns down. When it runs out of battery, the screen turns black but the power, sound and wifi buttons are still lit. It seems like it does that in order to give you time before it totally turns down. The thing is that when I plug the charger I have to totally shot it down, keeping the power button pushed during 4 seconds and then turn it on again, so if you had something in progress but not saved, it's lostSo, this time I had a lot of progress unsaved and the computer run out of battery; but I was able to plug it immediately after the screen turned black. The buttons are still lit but I can't turn it on again without shutting it down completely and losing all my stuff.Any ideas, advice, suggestion...?Thank you!

A:Battery off, can't turn it on wothout losing files

You should be saving your work to either a USB flash drive for security or to a  cloud-based storage service.  Save your work to the flash drive before you turn off the notebookI  Dropbox, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive are perfect for Cloud based storage. USB flash drives are quite inexpensive. Pressing the power button for four seconds is a hard reset. That will definitely not allow the operating system or yourself time to save your work. I suggest that you return the notebook to your college's library so their IT staff can repair the OS and hardware.

It still did not turn on. However, when I put the battery back in and then plug in the AC adapter, the battery led blinks green 3 times, blinks a 4th long time, blinks once more and shuts off. The first three blinks could correspond to the normal AC battery status indicator. Thank you in advance for your help.

I've tried running the laptop without the battery and still no success. Also if you leave the power lead in the battery light goes off within a minute...I'm absolutly stuck with what to try next- I've used compressed air etc to try and clean everything out...still nudda.

Any help much appreciated!

A:Laptop wont turn on- dead battery?

Sounds like a failed HardDrive (if it is you will need it replaced)

Just in case though:

Remove all power (battery and adaptor)
Hold down the power ON button for 30secs (dispersing all internal voltage)
Plug the power adaptor in only (for the moment)
Turn on

If it still doesn't work, I think the HardDrive has gone (ie clicking noise)

This is the second time I am facing this issue. First time last year Lenovo support guy came in anc changed the motherboard. It worked for a year and again now same problem. My G5070 is not charging with battery plugged it.I tried the battery drain method, it worked for 2-3 times but now it is also not working. It is not under warranty now. If lenovo knows that there is a problem with this series, why not to roll out a permanent solution. I have been using Lenovo phones, and infact I bought G5080 also, but this problem is breaking my brand trust.I dont know what to do. DOnt want to spend money to go to service center and pay for it, which not even customers fault. Its manufacturing defect, either of the motherboard or battery.

My laptop has been running hot after win 10 upgrade and today, started not charging the battery. Battery is HP original, 1-1/2 years old and not used extensively. I discharged the battery to the end and re-installed it for a fresh charge, but now laptop doesn't turn on when battery is in. Laptop does turn on without the battery in. I unistalled battery drivers and they re-installed automatically when turned on.When I turn on the power switch, light next to the AC plug on laptop blinks 3 times and then goes off and then nothing.I takeout the battery and laptop turns on with the Ac power. Question is why laptop dosn't turn on with the dead battery to start charging or just stay on and how can I check health of the battery without using the laptop. Thanks
