EAP-TLS NPS with Cisco WLC-question regarding godaddy cert or CA

Q: EAP-TLS NPS with Cisco WLC-question regarding godaddy cert or CA

hello,

Do i need a certificate server to deploy EAP-TLS to laptops? We have a godaddy certficate that we purchased for our wireless network and i'm wondering if i can use that? I can push out the certificate via GPO, right? My main question is do i need to install
an CA server because we need to generate a client certificate. We are using NPS and cisco wireless controller. EAP-PEAP works, but my company wants to move to EAP-TLS.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hiya

Just a quick question. I think this is the right place as it is networking.

I am about to try and learn and hopefully get a CCNA. I am building a few computers to produce my network but would like to ask something.

Where, apart from CISCO, would you get a CISCO network from? I'm after the hubs, etc, not a lead from one to the other, so that I can simulate the entire network. Need Routers, etc.

The book I have is from Sybex and although you can do some stuff without a network, there is some hands on exerience.

I would appreciate any help, no matter how easy. I understand TCP/IP but still stuck on Subnetting.

What I am really interested in is what do I actually need to get started? I'm in the CISCO site and there's tons.

Thank you in advance

I have a Cisco 1711 with 2 vlans and 2 dhcp pools.

Vlan 1 is for data and Vlan 2 is for VoIP.

I'm trying to configure a computer (Linux server) with a 10.3.176.10 static ip address.

The problem is, once I change the Linux server's ip address to any 10.3.176.x address I can't ping 10.3.176.1. If the Linux server pulls an ip address via dhcp it will pull from the Users pool (10.2.176.x) and it can then ping 10.2.176.1 fine.

The default Vlan is Vlan 1.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I am looking to design an active/standby failover but am wondering if to get clients to access the VPN you would need to have more than 2 usable IPs from an ISP? For example. the ISP inside interface will have public ip 1, the primary asa will have public ip 2, and the secondary ip will have public ip 3.

I basically want to the know the best way to design a network with 2 internal networks using active/standby failover.

New switch can be VTP Server, Client (or transparent.) Understand your needs and the caveats for each.

VTP server; w/ two switches as VTP server EITHER can make VTP updates and are sync'd to other servers or clients. YOU NEED TO DUPLICATE VLANS ON NEW SWITCH BEFORE YOU ADD OTHER SWITCH IN VTP SERVER MODE. I would also suggest that you set a VTP domain/password in the event that a newer switch is slipped into the mix (3550's/3750's have alot of this stuff turned on automagically by default.)

VTP client; client can't add VLAN's. If VTP server goes down, you lost your VTP database. Other than that, it works fine. I larger L2 topologies I'd suggest a minimum of 2 VTP servers, then VTP clients from there.

Yes, if you want layer 2 access to all three VLAN's on both switches then both switches need a trunk port. If you're worried about security (i.e. DMZ, Internet, etc.) you can restrict VLANs from being trunked.

Cisco IOS L2;
swithcport mode trunk
switchport encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,2,3,.......

This details all the specs for the different routers:

I am looking also at simulators. I am in the http://www.routersim.com site and looking at the 3rd one down. Hs anyone had any expereience with simulators?

Hey there i would like to know whether it is possible to configure the "inside interface" of cisco router with /24 subnet, which is connected to a layer 3 switch which has few network segment using /23 subnet...would it cause routing conflict?

FIREWALL "inside" interface (192.168.150.0/24) |----->LAYER 3 SWITCH------->internal network, 192.168.10.0/23 192.168.100.0/24

hmm; *IF* there's one connection from the Cisco to the switch which then provides the fan-out into the x.100.0/24, then the rules would be generic filters; high level, non-destination ip specific (no layer 2,3 rules)

there should not be problems with that approach.

Think of the Cisco as a gateway filter and then the L3 Switch as the low level controller.

I have a router that I'm monitoring/managing and the tcp-timeout was:

ip nat translation tcp-timeout 460
I had a complaint from a user that was being disconnected last night about every 7-8 minutes. This happed when they were playing WoW or using AIM. So I adjusted the timeout to:

ip nat translation tcp-timeout 2400

The CPU/Memory utilization on the router is still low and I'm keeping and eye on it.

I thought the NAT tcp-timeout setting only affected translations after a period of inactivity. I wouldn't think playing WoW would equate to an inactive connection and I'm pretty sure AIM sends a keep alive packet every so often.

Also, now that the MS Article is talking about open ports of the network, how does it affect Linksys routers that have "holes" in their Cisco firmware? (There is no updated firmware for my router on Linksys' website.)

A:[solved] Cisco switch configure Cisco catalyst 3500xl

First question is what type of ISP service do you have and how many devices? If you want to connect 5 devices, you'll need 5 static IPs from your ISP. The reason is that 3500xl switch is a layer 2 switch only. Which means there is no routing /layer 3 functionality.

This is all just for The-Legion.net domain. I have everything on the server just set to direct all requests to the main page. I also have the emails set up on my home computer, iphone & also their online website/server for their email system.

Is this possible with POP3?

Welcome to TechSpot

Open up Notepad.
Then click on Start/Run and type in regedit and click ok.
In Regedit click on (top) Edit/Find and type in godaddy, have all 3 'Look at' options ticked, then click Find next. When found, in the left panel, rightclick on the 'open' folder, select Copy Key Name.
Go to Notepad and press ctrl-V to paste the key.
Then type the name of the key in the right-panel with godaddy in it in your Notepad file.
Pressing F3 in Regedit will find the next, etc.

If you know what the values should be, change them, otherwise safe the Notepad-file as 'godaddy.txt' and attach it in this post. See http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic19133.html how to post your xxxx-files.
We could then help you further.

Alternatively, run Hijackthis, and attach the HJT-log, saved as 'HJT.txt'.
See http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic17297.html where to get it and how it works.

So I wait a bit and see if it goes away, which it doesn't. I've read a bunch of godaddy articles and have no idea what to do. For the mysite.net Total DNS Control Panel I set up a MX Record...

I am using GoDaddy.com's domain forwarding and masking service. When you login to GoDaddy, it let's you enter in meta tags for search engines to see. I have done this, but the tags do not appear on my page, just this:

Well, I can't post it because HTML is on, but you can see what I mean at http://www.fantasyrankings.net

Am I crazy or do the tags have to appear in the "head" tag? I called Godaddy's tech support and the first tech I talked to yesterday admitted that there was a problem and forwarded me to the next tech support level (oh boy) where I had to leave a message on some guy's answering machine.

Last night my site was down around 3:00 with a message saying that they were doing server maintainance. My site was back up today, but I think the only thing they added was the: !-- m --

So I called back today and a new tech guy told me that the meta tags didn't have to appear on my site, that their software caught search engines and gave them the meta tags. Does this sound like it could actually happen? Why not just include the meta tags in the "head" tag where they should be? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

A:GoDaddy's forwarding - META Tags

Why don't you put in the META tags yourself, manually? If the server does automatically optimise your webpages (and yes, they can do this) then there won't be any harm in your own ones being there too.

Regardless, I have MDaemon setup with my domain name and my MX record on GoDaddys Total DNS control panel setup to my domain name as well. I don't know what else I have to have setup in GoDaddys DNS control panel IE CNAMES, etc. If anyone else has a setup similar to what I have, or has any guidance for me, I'd appreciate it.

Hi everyone,

Thank you in advance for your help. I have a company with about 10 employees and we are having horrible email problems. Here's how I'm set up:

- website domains and emails are all hosted at GoDaddy.
- i create company emails for everyone, but if anyone emails the company email address to John for example, it forwards to his personal email account at Gmail.

I usually always so this and never had problems but as of recent, even the techs at GD can't seem to help me. They tell me "Google is weird" and I've called over 10 times with them telling me to give it 24 hours to fix but it's not being fixed.

If I changed hosting websites, does this help me at all? This is my real question I guess. I'm boggled even Go Daddy techs can't help me so I was thinking if it'd be helpful if i went with Bluehost or something. Thanks everyone!

Check you DNS with GoDaddy to make sure you have a SPF record and if GoDaddy supports DKIM or DomainKeys you should enable that as well.

We have a working DA environment using a single server, we are planning to go NLB  and Multisite but MS advises not to use a self signed cert for NLS which we currently do use.
I have created a Web server cert for our NLS server following the below issued by our internal CA
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-access/directaccess/add-to-existing-vpn/step-1-configure-da-inf-davpn

I add the NLS cert on our DA server, click next and then go to apply the DA settings.
When I do this it says DNS name does not exist. I can create this manually before adding the cert but it gets removed. If I tick use self-signed cert the DNS name gets created automatically.
I can't understand what I'm doing wrong and why DA will not accept our CA issued NLS cert

Hey all,

We've just set up a Cisco 3000 series VPN on our network, and are using an internal server here as the certificate server for the VPN clients.

Just one problem. I'm still fairly new to doing new things on Windows 2000.

So I've been going through Microslop's site trying to figure out exactly how to set up the certificate server here. But I haven't found anything which explains everything, or if I need to install something, (besdies Cisco's VPN client) on the client computers.

I've created a couple keys through Certificate Server, but have no idea how to go about using them, or how to view the keys like in NT, like;
---------
dsfjsfhajalf
asfsfghsgjhf
2klg4hjglufi
lashg9hgw
---------
You know, that big encrypted key.
So if anyone knows a quick explanation of this, or where to find a description of what I need to do, I will be forever indebted to you.
Thanks.

Hi,

This issue has been happening for over 2 years, Godaddy can't help so I thought asking other members for help.

It seems every few days I lose emails, I also spent $80 last-year for Unlimited emails but nothing changes.

The first Month it happened I connected Thunderbird and Godaddy reset the servers and all my emails appeared again. Its a endless battle and the topper was my Unlimited service expired so they closed my email address.

I currently have 5000 emails in my Thunderbird program but 38 emails when logged into the Godaddy client? The funny thing my sent emails don't get deleted have everything from 2011.

Thunderbird downloads everything automatically and doesn't delete a thing.

Hoping a few members can help me.

Help,
I recently registered a domain through GoDaddy and it came with free e-mail forwarding for the domain. That works fine, however when I reply to the e-mail that was forwarded to my other account it comes from that account. Im looking at a way to send from the .com I registered and not my personal e-mail. Is there a way? I don't want to pay for GoDaddy Exchange services. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

So I'm trying to do some website stuff for someone here, and apparently my browsers hate godaddy.com

More specifically, Internet Explorer and Firefox both crash when I try and use godaddy's java FTP client.

I click the link to launch it and the browser just closes. (Not gracefully, it's as if I killed the process...)

Anyone know what this is about? I've been trying to get some answers but the only thing I've come up with are people saying "disable the silverlight plugin in Firefox", but there's nothing of the sort installed in my Firefox, and this wouldn't be relevant to IE crashing.

I tried it on my other computer and Internet Explorer worked just fine, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

A:Internet Explorer and Firefox crash when using GoDaddy.com

Well, I got it to work... not in the nicest, cleanest way, but the quick, brute-force way. :haha:
I just ripped out everything Java in the system, and then installed the latest versions.
