TI compliance host controller error message

Q: TI compliance host controller error message

Hi - I have a yellow warning indicator in my Devices and Printers folder next to my PC. The error message is:

Name - Texas Instruments 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller
Device Type - IEEE 1394 Bu host controllers
Device Status - This device cannot start (Code 10)

I am not exactly sure what this is affecting but I am unable to print for one, despite uninstalling and reinstalling the print drivers.

Anyone seen this type of issue before?

Preferred Solution: TI compliance host controller error message

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi All,
I believe my computer had a virus and damaged windows xp home installation, most motherboard devices were showing the error message. I have completed a XP Repair and have got all devices working except for USB Host Controllers and thus the USB Ports.
When i go to 'Device Manager' and click the USB Controllers i get the yellow triangle / exclamation mark.
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)".
I have deleted devices and scanned for hardware changes - no change.
Completed Second Repair - No Change
SP2 & SP3 - No Change.
Can i get ports working again or perhaps are ports unrepairable ?
Really can't format at this point.

Any Ideas guys ?

Thanks in Advance

Hey I got an Asus G74SX-BBK7 laptop with windows 8 64bit pro upgrade installed and I can install All the drivers that are windows 8 and up (to 10)compatible (touchpad, intel chipset, etc)But can't install The fresco USB 3.0 has it says "Fresco USB3 Host controller is not found" even though I have a Fresco host controller and I do see it in real life/ the blue port , sadly I don't know why it's not detecting it and yes it has worked fine before / it would install fine without error

the version I'm trying to install is (latest)

and just to say that I've already tried a restore to my OEM system(windows 7 64bit home premium) and it works there but not when I upgrade

so I'm out of ideas

A:Fresco USB 3.0 error about host controller

Since ASUS did not release Windows 8 drivers for that model, there may be an issue with the USB 3.0 implementation and Windows 8.

All I can suggest is to try installing the drive in compatibility mode for Windows 7.

Also try the older Windows 7 drivers from the ASUS site.

I've been away at college for about 3 months (since early January) and when I left, my computer functioned just fine. I shut it down properly, took the power cables out and took the power strip with me. When i got back tonight for spring break, my USB Host Controller won't start. I've had this problem before, and I needed some electrical work done on it, and it worked fine after I got that. I really do not want to put out the money to get more work done on it (poor college student...) and so I wanted to know if there are any other things I can do before I send it to the shop to get it fixed, like any ways to make sure its not a software issue, or a loose connection or something?

Anyway, from what I remember of my system's stats, it's got an Intel Celeron D processor at 3.2GHz (i know i know...bad processor...), 1GB of RAM, and i'm not sure of the motherboard model, but I can get it if needed.

EDIT: oops...i posted this in the wrong forum, didn't i? sorry...i'm running XP SP2...

Hello and Welcome to TSF

I moved this to the appropriate forum...

Answer some questions?
1. Do other USB devices work on the system?
2. Is USB enabled in BIOS setup?
3. Is the BIOS up-to-date?
4. Have updated device drivers been tried?
5. Are any USB hubs being used?
6. Is the PC in question a portable (laptop/notebook)?

Hi! Thanks in advance.

I've been having this problem for around 2 days now, and it's infuriating: I can't use any of my back USB ports because of it! I'm only going off of the front two ports for a keyboard and mouse as we speak

I'll start by saying how this problem started: basically, I can't determine the cause. I usually leave my computer on for extended periods of time, but turned it off due to excessive heat in the room. When I turned it back on, the problem started. Nothing happened any different before restarting than any other time, no drivers installed, nothing updated, etc.

Now this happens every single time I reboot, even when I somehow end up fixing the problem through a weird combination of rebooting, reinstalling the drivers, and uninstalling the drivers. I'm still not sure what exactly fixes it, as right now I'm still trying to just constantly uninstall, reinstall, and restart in hopes it will work, as that seemed to fix it a handful of times.

Anyway, on to the problem. I get the exclamation point in Device Manager when drivers are installed/when I reboot from everything being okay. here is the properties, and the error code: this device cannot start (code 10). No amount of disabling/enabling the driver fixes it. My hardware ID is PCI\VEN_1912&DEV_0014&SUBSYS_77511462&REV_03

When I try to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, it gets the same problem. I've tried several different drivers from different download locations and differ... Read more

Hello, I'm not sure if these issues are related but here's the issues I'm having and I cannot find a resolution anywhere. I appreciate the guidance that is provided.

What I noticed in the device manager is the RICOH OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller and the SDA Standard Compliant SD Host controller is that they both have an ! exclamation point next to them. I try to update the driver and it will state that the driver is loaded and working correctly, but still shows up with an exclamation point next to it. I cannot figure out a resolution to this.

Also, I'm not sure if those issues are related to this but I am missing my DVD player. It shows in the BIOS but not in the Device manager or in my computer.

Can anybody provide and guidance on what may be the issue?

I am running Vista home premium on an HP dv6815nr.

Hi There,

I haven't used my SD card reader on my ASUS F3E, Windows Vista 32 bit for a while, but when I tried to stick a card in this morning it said the card needed to be formatted every time I tried to explore it.

I thought it may have been the card so got another one totally different brand and size. Same problem, so I updated the driver via the internet which said it was up to date. At this stage there was no error marker on the driver in the list.

I then uninstalled the driver and and found this one on the net;
which I have to assume is the right one as it claimed that it was up to date also. I've tried several times to install/remove and it always loads in ok but there is an error in the list now all the time on;
SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller

In properties of the driver it says;
"This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

If anyone has any ideas, that would be great!

I'm using a new Dell at work (an Optiplex GX280) with Windows XP, and it has recently been popping up with the following error:
"The device driver for the 'SCSI/RAID Host Controller' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver."

That's the problem.

I've been to the Dell site, but don't see any drivers for SCSI/Raid anywhere on their site (here is where I was looking).

I also opened the Device Manager, and told the SCSI/RAID host controller to update the driver. It looks and looks and looks, but doesn't find anything.

How can I fix this?

You could try these for USB: Via USB 3.0 Drivers Version 4.90a

Download, install using compatibility mode and reboot. Good Luck!

And these are your motherboard's chipset drivers (select Windows 10): GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-Z77X-UD3H (rev. 1.0)

Just download, unpack, install and reboot. Best of luck!

If I disable the second USB Enhanced host controller in device manager the adapter will work and I can go online. However if I restart or shutdown my computer the problem starts all over again. I've installed all the windows updates and have the latest driver from Linksys. I've attached two pics of before and after screenshots of the device manager.

Good Morning,

I receive the following error message on every boot up of my Toshiba Laptop, running Windows 7, 64 bit OS.

F - Secure Host Process is trying to recover your information.

The message disappears after a few seconds and does not recur until the next boot up.

I assume that F refers to a USB device, but I never boot up with a USB device installed and I have always used the 'safe removal' process.

The error message seems to be of little significance but its persistent occurrence is very frustrating.

Any suggestion to solve this annoyance would be gratefully received.

its could be one of a few things.

When vista came out a lot of people had the issue due to software that wasnt fully compatible/up to date.

Others have had the issue with ATI Control catalyst if you have an ATI card, update the software and drivers.

last but not least it could be dodgy ram, so do some memory tests.

1.) she filled her hard drive nearly full (less than a gig free space)
2.) computer had many virus and malware.

I have moved data and documents onto newly installed drive to free up primary drive for repair.

XP Home still would not function properly after running Malwarebytes and Spybot Search and Destroy 1.6.2 both applications were fully updated and (imunizations applied)

Computer was not responding and many errors were present.

I then performed a "repair" installation of XP home to establish functionality

I now am getting error message about generic host process for Win32 services...I welcome some help to remedy and see if this message is any possible malware still present or a windows error..

I also suspect there are some networking issues...had much trouble establishing conectivity though a newly installed copy of IE 8

I also get this pop up error message periodically: "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services". My internet connection then cuts off & I can only reconnect by restarting the computer. I don't know what to do & it's very frustrating. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated please. Thanks very much.

I'm getting this error since a few days. "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services" and from then I'm not able to get audio output after getting this error message. Every time I start my system I'll get this error after some time and thereafter audio will be disabled but only Windows sounds will be available. I thought this to be a Audio Driver error and reinstalled the Audio driver several times but it's of no use. I'm using Zone Alarm firewall on a Win XP SP2 system.
Please help me out !!!

Hi guys,First off, there's actually someone else on the site who you're helping that seems to have the same problem as me: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic369733.html However, I'll also describe it here if that's more helpful. I've been having an issue with my desktop computer for about 4 months now, and I figure it's really time to get it figured out. My operating system is Windows XP Home Edition, Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.100427-1636 : Service Pack 3) When I first turn it on, all seems to be going well. After a while (it sometimes takes a couple of minutes, sometimes a few hours--I haven't noticed a pattern yet) a Windows error pops up:When I click to see what the error report contains, I get this code: szAppName : svchost.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.5512 szModName : ntdll.dll szModVer : 5.1.2600.5755 offset : 00023845Once this error has popped up, my computer's sound card seems to go out. There is no sound whatsoever on the internet (Youtube, etc.) and if I try to open my iTunes, I get this error:(It's strange, but I've found that if I open my iTunes BEFORE the error occurs, music will continue to play, even after the error happens. Unlike that, if I open Firefox and have a Youtube clip playing, it will mute the clip right in the middle of it)Several other issues seem to come up after this point. At some point after the error occurs (again, hours or minutes, no real pattern detected here) my taskbar sw... Read more

Hi Jen.Let's try this. Please download the TDSS Rootkit Removing Tool (TDSSKiller.exe) and save it to your Desktop. <-Important!!!Be sure to download TDSSKiller.exe from Kaspersky's website and not TDSSKiller.zip which appears to be an older version of the tool.Double-click on TDSSKiller.exe to run the tool for known TDSS variants.
Vista/Windows 7 users right-click and select Run As Administrator. If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it.To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123abc.com). If you do not see the file extension, please refer to How to change the file extension.Click the Start Scan button.Do not use the computer during the scanIf the scan completes with nothing found, click Close to exit.If malicious objects are found, they will show in the Scan results - Select action for found objects and offer three options.Ensure Cure (default) is selected, then click Continue > Reboot now to finish the cleaning process.A log file named TDSSKiller_version_date_time_log.txt (i.e. TDSSKiller. will be created and saved to the root directory (usually Local Disk C:).Copy and paste the contents of that file in your next reply.~BladeIn your next reply, please include the following:TDSSKiller Log

I don't think this has ever happened before (I've had the laptop for about 8 months), but I did install HP printer software a few days ago. I downloaded the latest vista driver for the printer from Hewlett Packard's website, everything installed fine, and the software updated itself automatically to the latest version, so I don't know if it's printer-related.

I had a virus for all of 3 minutes, it was that shield crap.

I recently received this error message: Generic host process for win32 services has encountered a problem and needs to close. It came up twice today so far and when I closed out the box I lost the stuff on my desktop, my icons and the start toolbar. I have also had 2 dll errors pop up since then too everytime I turn my computer back on.

The dll errors are as follows: c:\windows\kbjmer.dll

If anyone can please help me I would really appreciate it. It seems like my computer is always 'catching' something.

Seems like a few other people had similar issues. Did you try installing an updated driver from the manufacturers site? Windows Update sometimes glitches like this.

I'm trying to repair install Windows 7 but every time I'm getting the error "An error prevented a required compliance check from completing". I'm dual booting it with Ubuntu 14.04-lts and sfc /readonly gave the following output (greped the line with [SR] in it). There are many badblocks (like 70 or more) in my 500GB hard disk, but I checked for it (using chkdsk) few weeks ago. Please help.

A:An error prevented a required compliance check from completing

The hard drive is prime suspect. Run the maker's HD Diagnostic CD scan followed by another full Disk Check. If either fail again then I'd replace the HD because you can never trust one after it has failed both tests. I would even replace it if it failed Disk Check with that many errors. You didn't say if they were all repaired. If not then it should have already been replaced.

In the past week or so my computer has been experiencing the same problem of win32 error message, which on prompt will reset my toolbar and everything back to previous windows 98 style of the white toolbar and old style of design, i know this has something to do with a virus.

I recently just had the fake Anti-Virus scan maleware on my computer which i succesfully removed with maleware-bytes and Whitesmoke translator which i also removed twice with malewarebytes. Im just wondering if there anything that can cause this sort of problem with my computer, maybe a virus im not catching? Also it seems my computer has been booting up rather slowly and it just seems super sluggish.

Any help would be appriciated just lemme know what you need thanks!

Ok, so since of recently, my computer has been acting really wierd. I would start the computer up normally and everything would be fine. But after spending some time on the internet, mostly around 30-45 min, I would get the same "Generic Host Process For Win32 Services" error message. And then after I close the box, my screen starts to act really wierd. A blank white bar appears between the top blue bar (on my computer) which would usually have the website , etc.. "Tech Support Guy Forums - Mozilla Firefox" and the menu bar. And then the windows box changes from "Windows XP style" to "Windows Classic style" on its own. I am still able to use the computer/internet but after a while, it starts to progressively get slower and slower. I have no idea whats wrong with it. I have Avira AntiVir and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and I have scanned my computer many times but nothing comes up. Please help
I have Windows XP
If you need to know anything else, i'll try my best help but i'm not the best when it comes to computers.
I'm also gonna try to attach screenshots of my computer/error messages.

Thank you

When I plugged in my wifi adapter in the usb slot I got the message saying I had a high speed device in a non high speed usb port. This left me a little puzzled since this is a fairly new mobo [Dfi LanParty nf4]. It recommended me getting a High Speed USB 2.0 host controller, so I checked my mobos disk and it had nothing under USB so I'm out of luck. The adapter says its running at 54mbps, so is there no problem?

A:Usb 2.0 host controller?

Is your windows XP SP2, if it isn't you need to update it to SP2. If it is SP2 go to My Computer, then view system information, then hardware, then device manager, then click the + next to Universal serial bus controllers, then uninstall all USB controllers, then restart. Once you start up in windows XP and plug in your Wifi card it will search for USB controllers, if any boxes come up just press next and let windows scan and install the drivers( USB drivers come with SP2, you dont need a CD). This should solve the problem.
