I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

The problem still exists even after Dell repaired the laptop. It took two weeks to get the repaired laptop back from Dell.

The problem is:
When I plug or unplug the charger while playing music/video on laptop, the laptop is freezing with buzzing sound for 1-2 seconds when the laptop begins charging. Even after Dell repaired the laptop, the problem still exists.
Tried installing the updated drivers, the laptop works fine only for a short period and then after some time the same freezing with buzzing sound problem comes back.
Also, if the laptop is restarted it works fine for a while and then the same freezing with buzzing sound problem comes back.

Not satisfied with the Dell and Dell repair services.
Need help with this problem.

Hello. I just registered. My PC keeps freezing while I watch a movie or listen to music.

It acts like in this video:

I even plugged it into a new wall socket, and cleaned it from dust, updated Windows 10 to version 1511, and I even moved the ram memory in different slots, but the buzz still happens for a millisecond. I haven't experienced this in games afaik though.

Can anyone please help me? It is getting annoying. Before Windows 10, I had Windows 8.1, but I upgraded. This happened with Windows 8.1 as well.

My specs: Intel Core i7-4790K, 4200 MHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4 GB) 8 GB RAM

Please someone help me. Many thanks.

Hi everyone,

4 months ago freezing problems started with my laptop and running chkdsk and hdd regenator repaired bad sectors and this relieved my pc health making it better than before, but not totally sufficient.

However in the past 2 months I am suffering from a new set of freezing issues which occur so often and i could not manage to solve or get any improvement. Basically, it happens
1)every 20-40mins and freezing lasts about 5minutes. if I am playing a music video on a website, then the speaker would be forcing itself to play the music for less than a minute which would be heard as buzzing, and then it will stop.
2) Same type of freezing also occurs when a game is open while all browsers and music players are closed in the background.
3) In rare occasions no freezing occurs but skype crashes during a voice call giving an error related to shockwave. I believe this could be a related problem but not sure.

here some more info:
-graphics driver is updated to latest version and downgrading back to the older versions did not help
-no disk errors could be found using chkdsk and hdd regenarator scans/repairs
-Uninstalling flash player and installing/upgrading to the latest version did not work
-cleaning cache using ccleaner, diskdefragmenting using popular softwares, or running popular computer care taker softwares did not help.
-windows 7 has the latest updates.

I am experiencing a buzzing sound when I play music online.  I primarily listen to music through the microblogging site Tumblr.  For example, if I had a song playing for a minute or so and opened a new tab I will hear a buzzing sound for anywhere between 2 to 10 seconds.  Other times, particularly during songs that are longer, the audio will fail and I will get an error message with a red x on the song I clicked.  Neither of these problems happen all the time.  The buzz is more prominent and seems to happen more frequently when I am opening and closing tabs.
I have narrowed this down somewhat.  It does not happen when I play an actual CD in the drive.  It does not happen when I listen to a song on Youtube.  It does not happen if I play an mp3 that I have saved on my computer.  It does not happen when streaming a podcast.  I have listened to podcasts that are over an hour long and did not get the buzzing or failed audio message.  It does not happen in Internet Explorer.
This seems to be related to tumblr sites and/or Chrome.  I have pasted a link as an example of a song where this occurs.
Things I have tried:
1. Updated the drivers
2. Scanned for viruses/malware
3. Updated Windows
4. I thought perhaps there was a conflict between the different versions of Adobe Flash but was not comfortable with removing a... Read more

You can safely remove flash players re-install, I think your plugin may be out one version... should still work though, but might help. Updating Shockwave is also a good idea as sometimes the technologies are interdependent.
Could be a Tumblr bug also... I doubt it is Chrome. Have you looked at the Tumblr support? (if there is such a thing)

Starting about a week ago whenever any audio is being played through my computer (speaker or headphone) I will hear a buzzing sound and occasionally the audio with skip. This happens weather I am playing audio that is being streamed from the internet or that is on my computer directly.

I have tried several things to fix this problem including installing all windows updates that are available as well as updating my audio drivers.

I am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. My computer model is hp pavilion dv7t quad 6100 and I have IDT high definition audio codec driver version 6.10.6381.0 which my computer says is the latest driver version. Updating to this version has not solved the problem, however.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. If there is additional info that is neccesary, please let me know and I will post it.

A:IDT High Def Audio, buzzing sound when playing any sort of audio.

Unplug the speakers from the PC and see if you still get the buzz with headphones. Some "buzz" problems can be related to "AC power ground loop" problems if some separately powered devices are connected.

Noise and skipping are problems that have been posted here before. There is no "one fix" for that. There are possible hardware problems, drivers (including video drivers), Interrupt issues, Wi Fi caused, etc.

Skipping can be because the other device that is on the shared Interrupt that the sound is on is interrupting the sound. Sound is always on a shared interrupt (IRQ) with a higher priority device. You can try this: go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the IDT and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT check the box to uninstall the drivers. Then restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect the sound and reinstall it and some times put it on a different shared IRQ.

Theres this annoying buzzing sound while playing music or any kind of audio, this just popped up today it was fine yesterday, and I didn't update/install anything. This only happens with the computer speakers, when I plug in headphones the sound is fine. I'd show you the audio clip but I'm not sure how, I'm not great with computers so if you need to know anything about it tell me.

I'm running:
Windows 7 Professional computer 64 bit
4.0GB of RAM
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor 3.20 GHz

The system constantly crashes when playing video games and games consistently lag. We have completely re-installed the OS and replaced all parts in the PC at least twice. When the system crashes the speakers buzz loudly, although sometimes it sounds like it's coming from the computer itself.

We switched from Nvidia because everything has checked out and it was hoped that the problem was the hardware not playing nice to no avail. I'm still getting the same error/crash.

A:Routine crashing with buzzing sound when playing video games.

All except last one showed up a WHEA error stating that there was a timeout failure of the northbridge bus between CPU and RAM. Commonly this is due to a mobo, RAM or CPU failure. Just to make sure, if you believe your system is stable enough, you can attempt updating your BIOS for your mobo as that can commonly fix things. In most cases however, this is a problem that will only be resolved by swapping hardware.

If you wish, you can run some hardware tests as followed in the order given:

RAM: Memtest86+ - 7+ passes
CPU: Prime95 - Torture Test; Blend; overnight (9+ hours)
GPU: MemtestCL - Run twice (if any of the tests work on your GPU; ATI cards will need to install the ATI APP SDK as it requires OpenCL)

All of these (excluding MemtestCL) are included in the UBCD if you prefer a Live CD environment (which is the best environment to test hardware on). Note that Prime95 currently does not work on the latest version of UBCD. Also, please provide us temps/voltages using HWInfo with Sensors only option checked. Log two 30-minute instances: one for idle, and one for high load. If you can get the system to crash during high load logging, that's even better.

Ok, I restarted my computer from a fresh boot this morning and when I opened up iTunes to play a song, I clicked the play button. It then proceeds to keep the song on 0:00, no audio no nothing. No attempt to even start the song.

Thinking it was an iTunes error I tried to play something in WMP. It did the same thing....clicked play and the song stays on 0:00. Now I tried to play a video in WMP to see if that worked, and it played extremely slowly and laggy with no audio. VLC media player is doing the same thing.

Some background on my system, it doesn't lag. I have an i7920 and the hard drive the music and audio is stored on is extremely fast. I also tried moving the music to a different HD on my system and it does the same thing. Any help is appreciated. I am going to try a system restore.

A:Music/video not playing (Not an audio problem)

A system restore fixed it. Looks like a windows update was installed. Thats the only thing that could have done it. I haven't installed anything for over a week. If you know what might have done it specifically, let me know.

Ok, let me get to the point, lately whenever I play a music file on my system or watch an online video, all I get is sluggish and choppy sound. I am running Vista Home Premium SP1. My specs are as follow :

AMD Athlon 64X2 TK-53 1.7Ghz
120GB Serial ATA Hard Drive

I've got all of the latest drivers
I ran various virus scans, yet no avail. I am running with all the latest OS updates. Now I am at my wits ends and baffled as to why suddenly it does this.

I also check my hard drive for errors using chkdsk yet it reports nothing bad.
However now that I think of it, I did update my BIOS last week I am running a PHOENIX AMD BIOS with version 3.13 Date : 08/22/2008.

Perhaps this caused some odd behavior ? But as far as I'm aware of, nothing else is wrong with my system.

My only problem is choppy audio while the hard disk drive is active. For example I could be copying a file while listening to music and all I hear is choppy audio. Unfortunately this is a pain in arse while playing games from the hard drive. All I get is choppy/sluggish audio.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I am getting rather tired at the moment, don't mind my ****ty grammatical errors in this post. All I want to do is get my point across and hopefully get this problem fixed.
PS : If anyone would like to contact me further regarding this problem please don't hesitate to send me a Private Message or post in this topic.

First post, hope I'm doing this right.Hi guys, about 3 weeks ago I purchased a Lenovo ideapad 110. It's a great laptop, however, about a couple weeks ago, the laptop started making a loud grinding/buzzing sound when playing audio. The sound only lasts for second, but it's quite jarring, to the point where I have to take out my earphones and take a break from what ever I was watching/listening to. It also happens without earphones, so those aren't the problem. YouTube is when it mainly occurs, however other sites with audio have it too. I've tried playing with the audio settings and updating the drivers, it worked for a few days, but the sound has returned. My previous laptop, a hp did this too, but never this frequently, so what exactly is this? Hello, I've been having problems for quite some time now and upon google search after search there doesn't seem to be an answer. When the audio is on, for videos, games, music, etc. it sometimes "skips" like an old cd player. Its pretty obnoxious, and I'm wondering why exactly this is so. I'm assuming I have an old driver or something, because I upgraded my pc from win 7 to win 8 pro. Thanks for the help and let me know if anyone needs clarification!

A:Jittery sound when playing music/video games (Win 8 Pro)

Audio is always on a shared Interrupt (IRQ) with a higher priority device. Depending on the shared device, it can "interrupt" the audio and cause skipping.

If you have the HP supplied IDT audio driver for Win 7, it is also compatible for Win 8. However, check the Device Manager and see what devices are listed in the Sound section. You should ONLY have the correct IDT sound driver and possibly HDMI audio (if your system has this) and nothing else. If "HD Audio Codec" (the generic Windows installed sound driver) is also listed, or any other sound, except the IDT and possibly HDMI, uninstall those as they can cause conflicts and other audio problems. Restart the PC if you uninstalled anything.

If you only have the correct entries in the sound, RIGHT click on the entry for the IDG and then LEFT click "Uninstall" (do not uninstall the drivers). Then restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound. This will fix any potential corruptions between Windows and the sound and sometimes will put the sound on a different shared IRQ and fix or mimimize any interruptions.

If it has only recently started doing this then it might be a duff capacitor... is the laptop still under warranty? If so, Dell can be quite good at swapping these things out.

But, I think you've sorted this out now by getting the new adapter.

This isnt a headphone problem its a computer problem anyone know how to fix it?

A:my headphones make a buzzing sound when plugged in

really man?

there are so many factors involved.

it could be the power plug you have plugged into.. the wall outlet/socket.. that causes buzzing..

plug the headphones into other sources and if you notice buzzing.. cdplayer/iphone/ipod..

then when did this start? is it all headphones? have you tried different headphones?

there isn't much to do inside windows but tweak sound settings.. and make sure your sound drivers are the latest... if you have a Realtek audio card etc.. which of course you like many others don't tell us what you have..

It's most likely something power wise causing buzzing.. do you live in an old house?

or the components inside your computer are interfering... from bluetooth to the fan running inside the computer..

I'm guessing power but How to do anything with power except set grounding and voltage levels? which you definitely shouldn't do with your computer..

and then I would NOT particularly tweak these settings but.. things like

I hope I'm posting in the rite place.

So here's the situation,
Laptop : Macbook White (2.4Ghz Dual Core)
TV : SONY Bravia 42"

I prefer working on a bigger screen, hence my laptop is constantly connected to the TV Screen. I use mini-DVI to VGA adaptor for Video and M-RCA to M-RCA through the headphone jack on my laptop for audio.

When the laptop is connected to the charger, it causes a buzzing noise and disturbances (horizontal distorted lines) on the TV Screen. Disconnecting the charger completely stops all of these problems.

So far so good but this is very inconvenient as I can only work on battery power.

Is there a permanent solution so that I can keep my charger connected without getting these screen artifacts and buzzin noise from my TV?

Some ppl have suggested an inverter but I wanted some reliable advise before I start buying anything.

Any help would be appreciated.

My laptop crashes everytime i put it in Gaming Mode - a button i press on the keyboard that will automatically overclock my cpu/gpu, this was made by the manufactures and i have never fiddled with it - and then proceed to play a game. The time it takes to BSOD seems to be entirely random anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour and a half. It also doesn't seem to scale with how intensive the game is; a relatively light game like Trine 2 was the first to cause me this problem and usually BSOD'd me very quickly while Arkham Origins will usually BSOD from half an hour onwards.

I finally got reliable high speed internet two days ago and updated my AMD drivers from the horribly outdated 13.2 (i think i stupidly got the drivers from my backup hard-drive instead of just downloading them) to the current version 14.9

This helped immensely and i thought the problem was solved until just now when my computer BSOD after having played Tera for 3 hours.

Possible Issues:

Age/Gaming Mode. I have had the laptop for 4 years now, even though it has never been a problem before perhaps it can no longer handle being overclocked. However as most modern games require the power i get from Gaming Mode to be playable this is my final alternative.

Counterfeit installations such as yours can contain heavily modified code that can cause the installation to behave it unexpected ways. Analysing BSODs and determining their causes on these sorts of installations is completely unreliable, and for this reason most analysts won't attempt it.

My recommendation is to install a genuine copy of Windows 7. This will minimise the problems you are experiencing and make subsequent diagnosis of BSODs far more reliable. Once you are run... Read more

Hello! As the title says whenever I'm playing a game it'll randomly freeze for a couple seconds and buzz/loop the current sound through my speakers. Sometimes it won't recover and I'll have to shut off my computer manually. Sometimes after a long freeze it will say Display driver crashed but recovered, I've tried updating my drivers multiple times but nothing. I'm honestly not that computer savy, I've cleaned my computer multiple times and clean started it. Works for a bit but then right back at it. It could be that my graphics card isn't strong enough for the games I play? Doubtful but I'm not sure, especially since I turn down all the graphics. It usually only occurs if I'm playing a game and have a tab open or something. Also did a computer info scan that I'll attach. Thank you for your time! Truly do appreciate any help you guys can give me.

Hi everyone,
My computer freezes after playing, tipically Fallout4, with a glitchy sound continuous (buzzing) and requires hard reset.
Before starting to blame various components I installed months ago other 8 gb of RAM, different brand, so I did memtest for roughly 8 hour and no problem, also fumark 1080p test no problem, prime blend test no problem.
So I read that the graphics drivers might be problem, so I unistall them and install them again and I was able to play for 2 hours with no problems than it happened again and ,after 10 minutes of gaming, again.
Happened also, just once, with GTA5 and COD that's why I thought it could be a systematic problematic.
I also have general problems with my SO (windows 8.1) automatic restart almost never works (freezing while restarting logo rolls in the blu screen), opening browsers may cause random freezing (possibly flash player?), this things happened also before, while the gaming part is new.
So my idea now is to unistall Fallout 4 and reinstall, maybe it corrupted some files, install windows 10 since they told me you have to install new drivers again, and check if it happens again.
Just wanna ask if this are the signs of a possible dying component of my rig, GC is 4 month old, the rest roughly 1 year.

Hello All,

I have built my own PC and I've been facing random freezing with buzzing sound issue while playing almost all games (Battlefield 3, Assassins Creed II and Revelation, CoD - MW 3, and Black Ops, Batman Arkham City and recently Saints Row 3) this freezing issue is really random and can happen anytime during gameplay.
I've updated all drivers (graphics, sound, BIOS etc). One thing to note is some of these games work without freezing for hours when I set Affinity to two CPUs but when I start playing Saints Row 3 with Affinity set to 2 CPUs the games becomes very slow and if I increase CPUs then it freezes after few minutes. I've tried to reseat the heatsink with thermal paste added two cabinate fans one blowing out and one in but this has not solved my problem.
I ran HWiNFO64 tool and saved log file of various readings while playing Saints Row 3 when freezing issue happened and I do not see any heating problem.

I would really appreciate any help to solve this issue.

I have a T440s with win10. When I listen to music after a couple of minutes the sound freezes for a second and makes a buzzing sound and it is really disturbing. I've already tried different drivers (from realtek, from ms, from lenovo), settings (dolby off, sound enhancement off, sampling rate), disabling lan (someone recommended in an other topic), bios update but no change. Btw it works perefectly when I use a usb soundcard. What else can I do? Thx!

Hi to all seven forum,
I came here for a simple question today, the question is, is it better for laptop battery that when I using laptop it is plugged in all time to ac adopter although it is fully charged.
one thing I know that when plugged in charger, the battery not in use, I test that remove battery when laptop in ON condition and AC charger is plugged, the laptop remain ON, so I mad a personal experience that using laptop with plugged in charger, it could save the battery. is it rite.?
Note: that I m not plugged in charger all the time, I only plugged in it when I turn ON laptop. when laptop is not in use and the battery is fully charged (infect it is always charged) I plugged out the AC adopter.
I read many article where many peoples asked the same thing that "should they plugged in charger all the time, (include when laptop not in using)".
but my question is simple which is "should I plugged in charger all time only when I use laptop? is it better for battery.? or it must necessary that we should drain all battery then plugged in charger and remove it when fully charged.?
(sorry for my bad English)
laptop model is Dell Inspiron N4050. 6 cell Li on batter I think. (or lithium)

A:Should I plugged in charger to laptop when I using it.

I'm amazed that this gets asked so often, and I haven't been able to figure out why. There's no reason and no harm in leaving the battery connected all the time. There's no reason to unplug the AC power once it is full charged. In fact, doing so could potentially shorten the life of your battery if it's recharging from a small usage up to 100% often.

I still don't know why people insist on making this a difficult process, to be honest. If you use the laptop on AC power, great. If you use your battery often, or even occasionally, it's a good idea to drain it down completely every so often, and then recharge it back to 100%. There's no harm in using the laptop on AC power with the battery in the laptop.

When playing a graphic intense game or playing a lower end one like minecraft while watching a movie my computer crashes to a black screen. There is also a buzzing noise, it sounds like what should be playing except in slow motion and buzzing. I'm not sure what kind of test I need to do, it is the first time I have had a hardware problem.

MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series

My computer does not go over 50?C when running. and I cleaned it recently. What kind of test do I need to do / what can I do to find the problem?

A:Black screen and buzzing sound when gaming

Hello and Welcome,

Does this only happen when gaming or watching movies?

Boot the PC into the BIOS and post the temp and voltage readings.

Once back in Windows download and install HWMonitor

Once the program is installed post a screenshot at idle and while the PC is under load.

You can ALT+Tab to the program to take the screenshot.

Is the buzzing noise coming from the speakers or inside the PC?

What brand/wattage PSU are you currently using?

I recently puchased an Ideapad 720s and have been noticing problems with sound skipping when the laptop is connected to HDMI while power connector is connected. It could be in conservation mode and not charging, but problem still exists. I ran several tests to make sure it was not the HDMI cable or receivers problems. ( I used two different hdmi cable receiver setups). Funny enough, the hdmi audio skipping does not occur with the laptor is running on battery. The hdmi audio problem frequency is random but it's often enough to be very distracting. I output my display to external source all the time, so this is a big problem. I think the charger might be causing interference with hdmi signal internally.

Hi all, i have a Medion MIM2320, MD96654 and all of a sudden it turned off and smoke came out of near where the charger is plugged in so i took the charger out and it stopped smoking, i was able to turn the laptop on again with no problems, but now the battery is dead.

The smoke was an orangey colour and had a funny smell.

Sorry for my basic description but any thought would be appreciated

A:Laptop smokes when charger is plugged in

Sounds like the charging circuit is Up In Smoke, you will need to take it to a reputable Laptop repair center or Buy a new laptop.

I would not continue to use it, it may be a fire hazard, burn the house down.

I have a Vista Laptop that is not charging at times. The power jack it pushed in and both my chargers spark when I move the plug around so it could charge. I don?t know if it?s my laptop or the Charger. Should I get the power jack fixed, get a new battery or a new charger? Please Help!!

A:Laptop charger plugged in but not charging

Esmmy, look in the hole on your laptop where the power adapter would plug in and you'll see the silver power pin. Using a push button pen, put it on the end of the power pin and see if you can move the pin at all. Any movement on that pin means it's broken and the DC Jack needs to be replaced. Most DC Jacks are soldered to the motherboard and need to be repaired by someone experienced in desoldering and soldering.

If the DC Jack is broken, the power adapter won't charge your battery since it's not making a solid connection inside. Moving it around too much while plugged in could short something, cause further damage or even a fire.. Best to have it repaired by an experienced technician.

Hello guys i signed up just to ask you about my problem which is ongoing for a year now.

The problem is when i play games like Battlefield 4,Arma 3 and lots of heavy games i don't really have any problems. But there are some games that causes my pc to freeze with a really loud buzzing coming from my headphones and requires me to restart my computer. For example Total War Rome 2,Shadow of Mordor,Grid Autosport,Splinter Cell: Blacklist are the ones that caused this to happen. The weird thing is,i was having this problem 2 months ago while playing Rome 2,and now i can play Rome 2 as long as i want without having this problem, but 4 months ago i could play Grid Autosport as long as i want without that problem but nowadays i'm having this problem while playing Grid Autosport. The freezing appears randomly, sometimes 30 minutes in to the game, sometimes after 3 hours of gameplay.I can't predict when its going to happen. If i'm to describe it more clearly, the freezing starts with little buzz sounds and mouse starts to slow down, then system gets to a full freeze with loud buzzing noise from my headphones.
My System:

i7 3770k
Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H
16 GB Corsair Ram
850W Raidmax PSU

FYI if you think this is a heat related problem,i am certain that its not a heat related problem..Because this happens no matter how hot my CPU & GPU is when the computer freeze.I did both prime95 and furmark tests for 1 hour,no problem occured.I even formatted my PC 2 mont... Read more
