Accidentally deleted "D: LENOVO" drive

Q: Accidentally deleted "D: LENOVO" drive

As title statesI did not have any backup, my laptop model is Y50-70. Is there any way for me to recover the drive? or will the deletion of it affect anything at all?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

If its not used for system files you may be ok. But you should always have an image backup of the entire HD. Its a given in this day and age.PS its no accident as its not that easy to do accidentally. System_drv is normally the boot.If you run diskmanager it will show all the partitions. you have and which is bootable.

Hi there,I have SL500 and there are three partitions: SW_Preload (C: ), Lenovo (Q: ) and SERVICEV003 (S: ).The Q and S partitions are for Lenovo recovery.  I wanted to clone my HDD to a new SSD drive. Therefore, I take out the HDD from the laptop and connected it to another computer through a HDD box and USB port. However and unfortunately, the security application automatically deleted the Autorun files from both Q and S.After that, I put back the HDD to laptop and when I double clik on any of the Q or S, it shows the "Application not found" error.Just wondering how to fix this problem, because I want to clone the HDD to SSD and do a factory format soon. THanks for your help.

So I decided to try to listen to the guy in this post and it has now deleted my D Drive???
I got to step 7 and clicked yes and now my 919 GB D Drive is gone? Thanks Dell

I must have blind because there was a box at the bottom that was "unallocated" that I didn't see. I set it up as a simple drive and voila, I can now put files on it. I would delete the post but I didn't see how to. Sorry!

I was reinstalling Windows Vista today (fresh install), and during the drive selection I inadvertently clicked "delete" while the secondary drive was selected instead of the primary. This is my only backup drive. It is, of course, now not recognized as a drive. I tried booting up Ubuntu and using Gparted to fix the problem, but the only option it gives me is creating a new partition. I then downloaded PC Inspector File Recovery and ran it overnight; it found 16000+ files, but all of them are named cluster1013651.* and so forth, and all of them appear to be corrupted. Windows seems to know what type of file each is, as their extensions are intact, but they will not open properly. Another weird issue is that the vast majority of files are .xls, but I don't use Excel.

Is there some utility that can repair the drive so that Windows detects it again? All the data is still there, the drive was never formatted or written to in any way.

Hi, I accidentally deleted the volume on my 3rd hard drive and now my Windows Vista PC won't even recognize the drive. How can I fix this?

The problem started when I put my old Barracuda 160 gig drive in a usb external case and couldn't get it to work until I put the jumpers on 7-8. The problem was, it was asking me to format the drive which was full of files which I wanted to retrieve. Through a series of now obvious mistakes, I first shrunk the volume backwards, I meant to shrink only 50 MB but deleted all but 50 MB and then stupidly deleted the entire volume.

What I need now is to at least be able to have my PC recognize the drive again and to be able to restore the full volume but would ideally like to still be able to retrieve the data, if that's even possible at this point. Also, why does, or did my computer only recognize this drive in the 7-8 jumper configuration? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

Hi.
I'm not sure this is the right forum to post this, if not let me know.

The Problem: I accidentally deleted some important data from a hard drive. I desperately want to rescue at least some of it. It is a folder containing a large number of digital photos.

This is what I've done:
1. accidentally deleted files
2. deleted the three partitions that were on the drive and made the drive into one partition
3. formatted the drive using Windows Disk Management tool in Administrative Tools (Windows XP). I used the "Quick Format" option rather than the "Full Format". The file system of the drive (also before formatting) is: NTFS
4. Currently there is new data on the drive. I'm using it as a backup drive now.

This all happened a few days ago. Only now I have realized the goof up.

Please, if there is any way you know of that I might best be able to salvage any of the lost data, I'd REALLY appreciate it.

Thanks!

Ok so this is what happened. Everyday my windows vista does an automatic files backup. It worked fine until one day a thing popped up during the backup and it said my backup failed because my drive D was full. So I came on here and someone said it was safe to delete all the files on my drive D, so I did. The files still wont work now because there is no folder for the backup files to go into. I tried doing the backup to another Drive, like drive C, but it wont give me that option. How can I recover my folders in Drive d?? Which ones were there?? This was about a month ago so I dont think I can recover them. I need to backup my files but there is an error everytime.

You can't. Recovery partitions are generally full and that is not a problem. It won't cause you any problems that you deleted it but you just won't be able to restore your computer back to factory state without ordering a set of recovery discs from HP.

Misread the drive label and deleted the partition on an USB external 80GB SATA drive. Nothing else has been done to the drive.

I did this when using Macrium Reflect Rescue disc.

I know I've seen mention of a program that can recover the partition table but I've not found it yet.

I tried EASUS Data Recovery Wizard but that didn't do it. I thought maybe Paragon had something but I've not had any luck so far. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Apparently, as I was trying to create more space on my hard drive, I accidentally deleted or "corrupted" the device drivers for my Hitachi LG DVD-ROM drive as well as my Samsung CDRW/DVD drive. I've tried downloading firmware for both, but consistently see this in the Device Manager: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing." I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both devices, also tried a System Restore. So far nothing has worked. Please help as I am pulling out every strand of my hair.

I've signed up to this site just for this issue which I've had for over a year. Here are the details:

Samsung laptop RF511
While I was cleaning out all the extra programs the laptop came with, I accidentally deleted something that was crucial for my disk reader. Whenever I pop in any data disk or movie, the computer struggles for a few minutes then gives up, as if nothing has been inserted. Oddly enough... I don't believe this always happens with music CDs. The computer also hasn't be able to let me burn anything on a blank disk. I often receive the "Please insert a blank disk" message, when one is already inserted.

This is getting really frustrating since I have a lot of data to backup and absolutely need help! I'm not a programmer and would need thorough explanation and a walk-through for this please.

I went to the Samsung website and looked at what might be missing (had no idea what I was doing...) I downloaded something called the BIOS updater, which did nothing unfortunately.

Please let me know if something sounds familiar and how I might be able to replace this bloody program I foolishly deleted!
Thanks a million.

EDIT:

I don't think I was clear enough in my explanation.... I don't require a program to copy/read/burn. The problem is the laptop itself. It does not recognize any disk I inset. Nothing pops up on my E: drive....

Now this is just a guess that may save you a full re-install.
Install a CD/DVD burning program and it may correct the fault. Also Windows builtin burning is not the cleverest of tools.

So while i was going through my Zune media player software, i was deleting music that i just dont listen to anymore.

A:Accidentally deleted ComboFix

Not necessarily bad but by doing so, ComboFix related files and folders will remain on the system if you ran the tool before deleting it. The correct way to uninstall ComboFix can be found here. If you have not emptied the Recycle Bin you should be able to restore the file to your Desktop and follow those instructions. -- If you encounter any problems using the switch from the Run dialog box, just rename ComboFix.exe to Uninstall.exe, then double-click on it to remove.BTW, if you have not already done so, please read ComboFix usage, Questions, Help? - Look here.

You need to take posssesion of it since it is not recognizing your current User Name as having authority to access it.

In XP Pro you only neeed to right click on the directory and select the Security tab where you will find the option to add your user name to the permissions list.

In XP Home you must boot up in Safe Mode and do this.

In the mean time my wife or son opened facebook or my space and hooked into a virus called "Protection Center" along with its buddy "Defense Center". I tried all sorts of ways to remove these tough viruses and finally wiped the hard drive of most things on it. Once I got control of my PC back I began reloading all that was lost including my security programs. I think I erased some important functions while I was trying to get rid of the virus. Is there a free program available from windows,HP or compaq or someone reputable that can show me what I am missing such as dll's or registries? Can they also show me how to repair these lost functions without having me download some program that is "free" and then wants 10-20-30 dollars or more to actually fix the problem?

I hate to come here with tech related questions and/or problems, but I'm really stressed over something my dumb *** did tonight.

I have three hard drives - a 300GB PATA drive (D, a 300GB SATA (E drive that contains my Windows installation, and a 500GB PATA (G drive that contains a back up of the 300GB PATA drive (both of which contain all of my important files, such as music, games, ect.)

I've been having trouble with my Windows drive for a while now, as there is some sort of short that causes the SATA cable to not insert properly. I was having trouble getting Windows to even install tonight, so I did something monumentally stupid and installed my Windows disk into the DVD drive.

I went to Windows setup, figuring I could create a partition on the G drive and install Windows and thus throw out the failing E drive. I formatted a partition, which turned out to be on my D drive by mistake. After fumbling a bit, I finally have Windows up and running from the E drive (didn't complete the installation to G).

Problem is, now both of my G drive and D drive, which again contain all of my music, videos, ect. are gone! I tried Windows system restore and it did nothing. My D drive is showing up as empty with just the Windows directory, and the G drive is showing up as unformatted and unallocated.

So, is there anything I can do to recover my stuff? Or am I monumentally screwed?

I have Windows 2000 Professional and while trying to delete the 'Brilliant Dig' spyware I also deleted HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\. And now I cant open some web pages especially the javascript links. It says 'Error on page'

Also, I cant open Microsoft Word anymore. If i try to do so it says: "the windows installer service could not be accessed. contact your support personnel to verify that the Windows Installer service is properly registered."

When I try to open a word document saved on my C\drive it says: "The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel."

In addition to these, when I try to update my AVG Anti virus I receive a message like there is a problem with the interface and it fails to update.

And finally some options like start-search-all files and folders and edit-find (on this page) commands do not work.

Hope you can help me with this problem?

i'm having a bit of a nightmare with my dell latitude d600. I think i may have the sasser worm as when i try to get on the welcome screen, it says lsass.exe password value incorrect whilst processing getting onto the welcome screen and then goes on a cycle of restarting the laptop. I managed to get onto cmd and my files through a disc and stupidly deleted lsass.exe off windows/system32 thinking it would get rid of the virus when it made it worse as now you just see the curser and a black screen! I think that i should just format and have backed up my data but i don't have a windows xp installation disc!
Please help

Boot off of the XP CD Or download the Recovery Console ISO. Burn it to CD with IMGBurn and get to the Recovery Console. Here type chkdsk /R and press enter. The Check Disk utility will try and fix any file errors.

I recently installed Windows 7 to my SSD. Its only 64GB so I set Windows up so that the Users folder was on my seconday (X drive instead of my SSD, and setup a Program Files and Program Files (x86) on my secondary drive. I used this. I deleted the account I made when installing windows and accidenally clicked delete files as well. This deleted all of the data I had in my Users folder and many in Program Files and other places. I used Recuva, but now all of the deleted files are in one folder instead of their respective locations. Is there anything I can do aside from reinstalling and salvaging what I can and reinstalling all of my programs?

all my pictures are stored under my Kodak EasyShare account, and I don't have any back-ups! I accidentally selected them all and clicked "remove from my collection" and now i can't find them anywhere! does anyone know how to get them back? i've looked all over my computer for them but theyre nowhere to be found. please help!

A:accidentally deleted pics

If they are stored on the easyshares server, you better email kodak and ask them if they can recover them.

If you deleted the pics from your hard disk, install it as a slave on another pc, download getdataback (http://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-faq.htm) and install it on the new pc, and see if the files are on the drive, then you can retrieve them to your friends hard disk.

Good luck!

The others , try a web search "c++ redistributable windows 8"

I finally decided to get better service for 1/2 the price and don't need AOL 6.0 anymore. I went to add/delete programs and the only AOL program listed was aolunins_us.exe . I realized what I did immediately AFTER I clicked add/delete. No other AOL program is listed in my add/delete list, yet the program is still on my machine.

Wondering if there's anywhere I can download the uninstall program (I couldn't find it on the net) or need help deleting the files and restoring the registry and other settings manually. Thanks in advance for any help offered.
