Preferred Solution: This is my new system Incoming this month.. How is this RIG?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Manly the one thing that will hold you back in gaming on this build will be your video card. Other then that it should work great with UDK, and StudioMax. Id make sure to have a 650 watt power supply and upgrade the video card down the line if you want to run your games a high rez.

Hello:

My husband and employer both sent me an email that shows the correct date in the email time line, but Outlook shows a recieve date of April 2008.

It doesn't happen on every email, just some. We've all checked our clock dates and their correct. Talked to my Internet Service Provider and they said it was an Outlook problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Is it possible to restore my WIndows 7 to 30 days ago? I only get the option to restore to three days ago.

I am having major trouble with my laptop screen freezing. A few weeks ago I installed 1G worth of updates and it keeps crashing on me. I've done EVERYTHING in the book, and I'm thisclose to handing it in for repairs, but I want to give my laptop one last chance!

Any help is appreciated. tHANK YOu!

A:How do I restore my system to a month ago?

You could start uninstalling the updates, one at a time, if that is the real reason. If System Restore does not go back that far you have no other restore option.

Good reason to make (full hard drive) backups. Not for if they are ever needed, but for when they are needed.

Hello, we have a Dell GX1 running WNT 4.0 SP5, connected to a Novell server onsite which is part of a corporate NDS tree. The PC has a Kodak high speed scanner attached to it . The PC operator scans in thousands of documents per day using IBM Personal Communications 4.2.2 up to IBM MVS mainframe . Somehow, one night the PC's date jumped ahead exactly one month. The next day 5000 document were "missing" until the problem was discovered. I saw these two successive msgs in the PC's event log....
Event ID 3210 02/12/01 10:12:58PM Failed to authenticate with \\PP2NF01P, a Windows NT domain controller for domain USRDOM .

Event ID 3210 03/12/01 10:27:58 PM Failed to authenticate with \\PP2NF01P, a Windows NT domain controller for domain ISRDOM .

Notice the month jumped ahead on the 2nd event . Has anyone seen this happen in a similar environment or have a suggestion why this may have happened ? Thank you .

Hi all,

Summary:

Am having a custom-built PC that worked just great for the last 6 months. Then I started getting random issues (BSODs, mouse-keyboard freeze, computer fails to shut-dowm after OS shutting down). For the past two weeks now, the issues are getting more and more frequent. No significant changes were made to the hardware or software. Have run UltimateBootCD scans, removed almost all hardware except bare bones CPU, Mobo, nVidia graphcis card, memory, PS/2 keyboard and mouse, and power supply, plus fresh install of Vista SP1 32 bit/WinXP Pro with/without any third-party drivers. Once a freeze happens, it is a lot faster to happen again even after a fresh reboot. Freeze happens with bootable CD programs also = (that;s why I did not list HDD and DVD drive into the bare bones list above -- if I have one of the two, I can start the system, and issues happen).

Here's the current configuration (see more freezes here than BSODs):
Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz
Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 motherboard. No overclocking.
2 GB RAM (passes UltimateBootCD tests)
EVGA 8500 GT PCI-x graphics card
Antec EarthWatts 650W power supply
Plain old PS/2 keyboard and mouse. USB mouse also has same results.
Vista SP1 32-bit (with and without latest updates). Also tested WinXP SP2 Pro, same issues. Also bootable CDs result in the same issues.

Prior, original configuration (more BSODs than freezes)
4 GB RAM (passes UltimateBootCD tests, Windows Mem diags tests)

Hi - you helped me disinfect my system about 1 month ago (had Trojan Downloader Ruins), and my system was running slowly afterwards. I thought it might be the new firewall and avast anti-virus systems, but still seems to be running slowly after getting rid of those. I am running windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I built this computer back at the end of January-all new parts. Within the first month I received BSODs consisting of Page Fault in Nonpaged Area, and Memory Management (happened twice) and did the Windows Memory Diagnostic and Memtest 86+ and found that I had issues with my Memory.

After swapping out my memory each time with new, I would go about 2 weeks and then I would get more BSODs. The types of BSODs that I am getting are:

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
SYSTEM_THREAD-EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

The most recent system service exception was when I was booting up windows last night. They all seem to happen at random times. I could be browsing the internet or I could step away and come back to find that an error occurred.

To try to debug the Memory Management and Page Fault BSODs, since with my researching I found that a common reason for this is bad memory, I once again ran Windows Memory Diagnostic and found no Hardware errors and I let Memtest 86+ run for 34 hours and found no errors.

If anyone has insight as to why these may be happening, I would greatly appreciate it.

A:Several BSODs in last month-System Service Exception, Memory Mgmt, etc

These crashes were caused by memory corruption/exception (Cx05) probably a driver.
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.I understand you have done memtest already so start with verifier.

* If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

* If you have a Raid update its Driver.

Memtest.

Quote:
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5-7 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition.
Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is.
But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver.
Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows.
If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

I am experiencing lag times that are incredibly slow. When I log on it takes almost 10 minutes before my desktop appears. Any software program takes a long time to open and always kicks back errors that I have clicked "do not ignore" including I9. Outlook won't load my folders anymore. All folders: documents, pictures, music take up to 20 minutes to upload. I suffer watching a green bar slowly creep across the menu bar with no results. I also ran a complete Windows Defender-found nothing, defragged my hard drive, checked recent updates-found none. My computer also has started restarting itself (no time pattern) and I've had the "blue screen of death" appear three times in the past month-all times required hard reboots. Took all the advice found in aother forum about lag times to try resolve my issues: Booted in safemode-took almost as long to upload; Ran SFC/SCANNOW in command field-results returned normal, no integrity issues found. been studying this problem for a few months now trying to isolate its cause but only recently have I been able to do this with much luck as its crashes have become more frequent. I have a new Cisco external network adapter [usb] and I run Minecraft. I thought either of these were the cause as a lot of crashes took place while they were running but have just witnessed a crash with no MC and then with no adapter plugged in albeit MC was running. also a few times when a flash drive was plugged in the computer crashed the moment it was plugged in. I thought maybe a hardware issue with the back usb ports but it doesn't add up as the computer crashes even when no usb is plugged in. except for the extension which I plug the adapter in although the adapter was removed.

as a side note this build has been glitchy from the get go and I've done a clean install over 30 times in the first year alone. perhaps this is all connected.

Have you contacted your IT department for help? Does the computer act up when hooked to the network or domain.
30 installs in one year is huge. Where did you get your copy of Enterprise? It might have a flaw in it.

I followed the following steps on windows 8

1. Everything working I can ping Google
2. Create new incoming vpn network
3. I can no longer use DNS pings to outside addresses don't work although the router still seems to be the DNS server and I can use DNS from another machine on the network including from a vm running on the same machine
4 nslookup to internal and external addresses give a no response from server error
5 Delete the vpn connection and everything works again

My network settings for the pc are all automatic (although I have tried statically setting the ip etc as well)
The settings for the VPN are simply no tcpv6 tcp 4 has a range of ip addresses

I can connect to the VPN from an external network

I have tried turning off the windows firewall but this had no effect nslookup still failed

Any clues how to fix?

Hi....don't know if there is an answer for my "problem" or not...Hope so.

it is now 3:19 in the afternoon (Central St. Time) There has been something coming in ...in my OE e/mail (I have 6.0, and dial up)...This "whatever" has been "receiving" since 15 min. until 2:00 (1:45 p.m.)..it is still coming in...
Is their any way that I can purge incoming...I don't know what it is...and don't care what it is....I don't want it anyhow...
I have been e/mailing my sis in Houston back and forth this morning with no problem, and we have just finished on the phone...and it isn't she who is sending me something.

I just want to know what I can do to stop this from coming in...it is tying up my computer for other 3/mails, and I can't send any out until this is finished...

I did shut my computer down...and I got the (yellow triangle with exclaimation point ) saying error...but closed that and shut down anyhow...waited a few minutes then turned the computer back on.....and it started still coming in...

Can anybody help here...please tell me what I can do....aside from pitching the computer out the window.

Thanks,
sherri

P.S. it is now 3:27 and still coming in.

So I got the above IP in my firewall as an incoming connection blocked.

It resolves to helionresearch dot com

Anyone have anything to add as to what this might have been about?

Thanks

A:54.192.39.218 incoming connection

Hi bass740 From what I see, HelionResearch.com is the website of a Marketing Company that offer advertising and performance monitoring solutions for other companies. My guess is that some website(s) you went on uses their services and when loading that page, it tried to load content from HelionResearch.com as well, but your Firewall blocked it since it wasn't needed or unwanted. At one point, it almost looks like Adware or browsing tracking.

Hello, ive been trying to get some information about R600, but internet is confusing xD
how would it be?
how much would it cost?
And ive heard that would be better than the G80, cause of the 512bits 120 GB/s rate transfer, 64 unified shaders, etc, etc....but how much expensive? xD

Greetings from Chile
Bz

A:what do you know about the incoming R600?

The X2800XTX is going to be ~$600US. It is better than the G80 with 64 Unified Shaders doing 4 ops per clock so theoretically 256 Unified Shader ops per clock cycle. It will run at 700/2400 and will have 153.6GB/s memory bandwidth. It should be about 1.5x more powerful than G80. G81 should be a little more of a competition, but the R600 should still be better than the G81 aka 8900GTX.

Hello,

I have done everything I can think of to allow incoming RDP sessions, but it is not working.

I have checked the box under system properties/remote (Allow Remote Assistance connection to this computer) and I have check the box under McAfee Firewall/ports and system services for port 3389.

I have also temporarily turned off the firewall....no good.

I know that system I am RDP'ing from works because I can get to a Windows XP machine.

Thanks in advance.

I keep having incoming blocked ip messages popping up from my malwarebytes. I have run scans with Avast and Malwarebytes and nothing is showing up on the scans. What should I do to make these go away?

A:Incoming Blocked IP Help

That is a sign that malwarebytes is doing its job and protecting you from attacks, if you like you can disable the pop up in the options menu.

If you like we can have a little look see while you are here, make sure you don't have anything obviously nefarious....

Lets scan with ESET Online Scanner.

Please right-click your internet browser shortcut on the desktop or start menu and select Run as Administrator from the context menu.

Follow this link or right click and "copy link location", then paste the link into the address bar on your newly opened browser instance
Note: If using Mozilla Firefox you will need to download esetsmartinstaller_enu.exe when prompted then double click on it to install.

Firstly, Accept the Terms and click Start

Click Enable detection of potentially unwanted applications and click Start again.

ESET will then download updates, install and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.

When the scan completes, click List of found threats. Note: If no malware was found you will not get a list.

Click Export to text file and save the log on your desktop. Then click the Back button.

Check Uninstall application on close and Delete quarantined files, then click the Finish button.

When you click finish the browser will not close but will offer you ESET products. Be aware the scan has actually finished and you need to close t... Read more

A friend of mine got some malware on her 2-month-old Win7 laptop, so she went to Bellsouth/Yahoo customer service. They tried to sell her a $450 package for 3 years of virus cleanups. Part of their sales pitch, while they were logged into her computer, was to pop up a list with a bunch of IP addresses on it, claiming that these were the incoming connections for the last 24 hours -- "...and notice how many of them were from outside the US."

This sounds bogus to me. I'm not aware of anything on Win7 that does incoming IP logging on a new, only-slightly-tuned system.

What do you think? Was this real, or fake? (If real, I really need to know how to make use of that log myself.)

Thanks

Most of the incoming mail messages are, for unknown reasons, going into the deleted folder rather than into the inbox. This began about two weeks ago when I upgraded to Norton 360 Premium. Maybe this has nothing to do with that, but everything was working prior to it. I am using MS Outlook 2003. I have not made any changes to my Outlook. How do I correct this annoying situation.
Thanks

A:Incoming Emails

Yes, it could be a coincidence, but I would first suspect Norton. If you can't find any Norton options relative to handling incoming mail I would uninstall it, at least long enough for testing. Symantec has a very good Norton Removal Tool, and that link also gives instructions on how to make sure you have the Product key saved for a later re-installation.

Newby with servers here. ~5 years ago, then IT blocked IPs busting in on the Anonymous FTP service, creating 'locked' folders and storing? who knows what. He then set an option to block those series of IPs, most of which were coming from China with the IPs of: 20x.xxx.xxx.xxx

Today, we need to allow a client to access our anonymous FTP service and, unfortunately, they have an IP starting with 206.28.xxx.xxx

Have searched all areas that "I'm familiar with", but I need help to dig deeper for blocking/unblocking incoming IPs..

Hi, techguys!

I need help with the following problem. I'm on a LAN provided by my ISP, but the LAN is very hostile (when I first connected two years ago, I got hacked within something like 15 minutes). I have closed all my ports by disabling all kinds of Windows XP services (Home) and I installed Jetico Firewall, which I think is really good. I log everything, allowed and blocked traffic.

Jetico allows one to see ARP packets going out and coming in. And that's where my problem lies: Almost nothing goes out, but every second, I get about 8 ARP packets! That seems like very much. No addresses on this LAN are trusted. I have disabled NetBIOS and even uninstalled Microsoft Client from the Internet Connection.

I was wondering if there is a way to somehow regulate this traffic. I've tried blocking the packets, but the Internet connection went dead.
Isn't there a way to limit this traffic? Maybe by hardcoring the gateway's and DNS servers' MAC addresses? If yes, how do I do that?
In the command line it says that my gateway MAC is dynamic. Does that mean I have no control over this crazy stuff?
And how can I determine the MAC of my DNS servers?

I have Ethereal installed, but I have no idea whatsoever what to do with it besides watching all those packets come in. I was alarmed by the administrator of firewallleaktester[dot]com that when I registered there for the mailing list, his logs showed some specially crafted packets that 'could only be t... Read more

Guessing its a dial-up connection?

If he has "call waiting" enabled on the phone line it puts a "beep" on the line when a call is waiting (when the line is otherwise engaged, in this case with an internet connection).

Thats what the modem will be detecting I would guess. If the caller then hangs up, the beep while they were waiting can often be enough to disrupt the connection.

How does he know that nobody was calling? If they had given up and hung up?

Hi wfl80

You have the Preview Pane enabled?
If you want to close the Preview Pane in Outlook Express:
View > Layout
Uncheck: Show preview pane
Apply, OK to save and close.
What Font is showing for Outlook Express?
Tools > Options > Read tab

These are my settings in Outlook Express:
Font settings
Western European
Default Encoding:
Western European
If the above doesn't help, try creating a new Identity in Outlook Express to see if the font problem persists in the new Identity. If it doesn't, you can migrate to the new Identity and Import all your messages to the new Identity.

Create a new Identity:
File > Identities > Add New Identity
Name the Identity
Click Yes when asked if you want to switch to the new Identity.
Cancel out of Importing or Upgrading if the option is given.
Recreate your E-mail account.

Send yourself a Test message to verify your account settings are correct and to preview the font.

Let us know what happens.

Hello,

I have an iPad that I use to remote desktop to a Windows XP Pro machine using VPN. All works fine every time. I also have a Windows 7 Pro machine that I want to use instead of the XP one, but can't get a reliable VPN connection.

The VPN connection appears to work every time, but I can only get the remote desktop connection about half the times I connect. Sometimes disconnecting VPN and reconnecting works, sometimes not.

Any ideas (in plain English...)???

Thanks
