I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi!I'm a pretty new gaming notebook owner, as i got a really screaming good deal on a y530 (8750h/1060-6gb/16gb/512ssd/144hz). Im currently trying out some recommendations from the internet like undervolting the CPU and having the power limit at 50W (CPU) and im currently getting 2678 points in cinebench r20, and the cpu is sitting comfortably at 70-72 degrees C at full load. (-0,150v undervolt) Is this good or is there something else i should change?

I dont know what is wrong with my computer but recently i ran aquamark3 and 3dmark 2003 and in aquamark i scored a low 21,000 and in 3dmark2003 i scored a low 2,500
yet i am running a intel p4 2.8 ghz 800 fsb ht oced at 3.6
512 mb 3200 hyperx ddr
visiontek 9600
Asus p800s
i know its not the ram because i tested it with prime95

A:Low Benchmark Scores

i think it is either the motherboard or videocard because i know that the visointek 9600 is underclocked at 324 mhz core and 202.5 memory but can it really make that much of a difference because people with the same ram, similiar video card and processor have scored in the 30,000- 40,000 range yet i can barely score 20,000

Hey all,
Just built a new comp and I thought this thing would scream but I'm only getting a whimper

AMD FX-62 Dual Core CPU
1.0 GB DDR2 PC3200 (I believe its 3200)
ASUS M2A-VM-HDMI Motherboard
Ultra X-Connect Titanium w/ UV Blue 500Watt ATX PSU
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB Hard Drive (Serial ATA II, 7,200 RPM, 8MB)
Haven't done the video card yet
This thing should move like lightning right?

Something about this thing is mega slow to load programs and such.
I just used CrystalMark to get some Benchmark scores and my CPU ranked a bit lower than an AMD FX-60 (19442 vs. 25188) but my HDD was piss poor with a score of 4738 vs others out there ranking between 2 and 4 MILLION!!
Now my HDD is in a constant churning state, ya know always sounds like its struggling and grinding away when running programs especially ones like adaware or spybot that scan, not super loud but it bugs me. Is this an indication that is a piece of junk?

Is there any other way to determine if its is my HDD that is the weakest link in my new computer besides getting another and popping it in and are there any other good benchmark programs out there that can confirm this for me. Also, why would my CPU be scoring lower than a lower model? Maybe its just that CrystalMark isn't reliable.
Also, I'm running some EMSA Disk Check Program right now to try that out and see what happens

I recently purchased a Dell Precision 5520 with the following hardware: i7-7820HQ, 32GB RAM, M.2 PCIE 512GB, Quadro M1200. I noticed performance issues with the laptop - simple things like a lag sometimes between when I typed on the keyboard and when things actually appeared on screen. Generally slow performance with simple tools like PgAdmin, etc. Subsequently, I ran benchmark tests (PassMark, Geekbench, and others) and I find that my CPU scores are dismal - about a 1/4 of what they should be. I did a couple of things to isolate the problem: (1) updated the bios and switched off sidestep, (2) complete reformat and reinstall of the latest recovery image from Dell, (3) all windows 10 updates and driver updates through command center, (4) configured power option in Windows to "High Performance" and plugged in the a/c adapter, (5) removed all peripherals - basically back to stock, out-of-the-box factory image except the Intel Sidestep setting in the bios. Again, no improvement - low CPU benchmark scores (Passmark CPU score - 2424). See attached image for details. I'm not sure what else to do? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi,

I made this thread so we can share the results of our benchmark scores from unigine heaven 4.0. If you want to post your result, all you have to do is go to this site , download it and install it.

Run it in the Extreme preset, save the results somewhere you can find, print screen the results and post it here!

I own a GTX 580 3 GB EVGA Classified version, and this is what i got at nVidia stock settings:

I thought that I would bring this over from Seven Forums to see what scores we are getting with this OS.

I'll start off with mine. The first image is my score, using the default settings, and the second is with all applicable settings maxed out.

Download Heaven DX11 Benchmark | Unigine: real-time 3D engine (game, simulation, visualization and VR)

A:Show us your Unigine Heaven Benchmark scores!

Updated, for my new system. Note that I have only used the default settings for Heaven here, but you can quite clearly see what an improvement I have over my old system. In addition, the effect of having crossfire enabled can be clearly seen in the second image, with a final score approximately twice that where crossfire is disabled.

I put a new processor in a computer here at work yesterday. Previously, the computer had a K6/233, and I replaced it with a K6-2/300.

I was surprised to note that the benchmark scores (I used WinTune for the Benchmark test) for the new, "faster" processor were lower than the "slower" one

CPU Integer................... -2%
CPU Floating Point............ +29%
2D Video...................... +2%
Direct 3D..................... +12%
Open GL....................... -15%
Memory........................ -38%
Cached Disk................... +18%
Uncached Disk................. +1%

So what's going on here? Why would the CPU Integer and memory transfer scores go down with the new processor? Did I missed a configuration in the BIOS, or could this processor just not be suited for the motherboard? Specifications on the motherboard are at: http://www.qdigrp.com/eng/products/tx1bp.htm

Thanks for any insight, as this is rather perplexing to me.

You may need to check the version of the bios to ensure that it supports this chip.

I found this in the FAQ's at that site.

I was surprised to see here that the Intel Celeron D 330 2.66 GHz processor benchmark scores are lower than the AMD Sempron 3100+ 1.80 GHz processor benchmark scores.

I recently resurrected and upgraded 2 older desktops.

Both have 2 GB DDR PC2700 RAM and have an UDMA/ATA100 7200 rpm hard drive and have the same antivirus program running.

The Intel processor has a 533 MHz FSB and the AMD processor has an 800 MHz FSB.

The desktop with the AMD processor appears to be the faster and more snappier of the two.

Is the higher FSB of the AMD processor the deciding factor, or is it something else?

Hello, On the lenovo website (in germany) there are several versions of the y530 to choose from. Of the last two one costs 1399 euro, while the other 1599. The only difference being that the latter has windows 10 installed, and the one for 1399 euro only has FreeDOS. Why a 200 euro difference only for windows 10? Is upgrading the y530 from FreeDOS to Windows 10 very difficult, or whats the issue here? Thanks in advance

Are areas other than RAM affected (score wise on the WEI assessment) by the amount of RAM you have?

I had an A42JV notebook with 4gb, but it had some issues and I traded it in for K42JV which only has 2 GB. The processor and GPU are the same, yet now my Windows experience score for Aero Performance is 3.9 (Intel HD). It was 4.2 with the other notebook.

Could the difference possible be due to having 2GB instead of 4GB now...Or could it possibly be due to a different motherboard or a different Intel HD?

Also I see people with the same processor scoring 6.7 (i5 450) for the processor score, yet I'm scoring 6.2... What could account for the difference? Motherboard?

Thanks much for any answers...

A:Windows 7 experience scores...Does RAM affect other scores?

You will see a performance boost by having more memory. Having less memory will affect your Aero performance.
Processors will vary slightly in speed. Also, the processor is going through your mobo.

Last week i scanned my new lenovo y530 using lenovo vantage due to a slow start up and during the HDD scan  the SMART short self test wont complete and gets stuck at 10% even after leaving it overnight , how to fix this , should i be worried about it?

A:CANT COMPLETE HARDWARE SCAN ON MY LENOVO Y530

I don't think you should be worried that much about it. If your device is slowly booting try turning off some startup apps and clean up your disk since the more you store on it the more time is required for it to boot from the HDD. You can also test with Windows's Error checking on the drive if there are file system errors. And you can run Disk Defragment to speed up your device a bit. Check to see if you can hear any unusual clicking noises coming from the drive. Hope this helpsCheers

Windows 7 has installed a generic driver for the card. You need to go the cards manufacturers site and download the correct driver for windows 7. Then unistall the card in Device Manager and then install the new driver.

So I have a Lenovi Legion Y530, I bought this very recently. Specs: i7 8750H, Gtx 1050Ti, 16 Gigs of Ram, 128Gb SSD, 1Tb HD. So I decided to overclock my gpu (with Msi Afterburner) I increased the GPU clock by 350mhz, and the memory clock by 150mhz. I also undervolted the cpu by -0.140 volts. (I'm pretty sure this is the gpu's problem). I tried running Time Spy in 3DMark. This worked before I overclocked. While the benchmark was loading, it froze on the loading screen. Everything else worked, but I couldn't exit. It was just stuck on the screen. I couldnt enter task manager, or go to the desktop. My only option was to force shutdown. When I turned it on the Legion logo popped up and had the loading icon. Then it disappeared and nothing's loads after it, it stays as a black screen. Keep in mind that I don't have the tools to access the internals of the laptop. So I need a way to fix it someway else. Thanks in advance.

Hello all, I received my P51 one week ago, with Xeon 1535M, 16G SSD and 4K display. I just tried to run Intel Extreme Tuning Utility to learn more about the CPU internal tuning options and assess the performance of my system. Surprisingly, when running Intel XTU benchmark, the system has shown repeated current limit throttling, while showing very limited thermal throttling. Net result gets never above 800-820 Marks while I expected a much higher number (several thousands?) according to other threads here regarding P51 thermal throttling issues.  I ran the benchmark in the following conditions : AC power, BIOS set with SpeedStep and max performance enabled, windows power profile on max perforamce, I disabled kaspresky antivirus just in case, grapchics in discrete mode (ie. Nvidia enabled as default). below the screenshot of XTU :  [URL=https://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=556305P51IntelXTU.jpg][IMG]https://img15.hostingpics.... I would appreciate your thoughts there : are all those numbers normal (800 Marks for such a system) ? did I miss something regarding my system setup to ensure it's working at ful throttle ? I would like t oavoid returning it to Lenovo if it appears something is wrong with my CPU. Thanks in advance for your feedback,Philippe

Hello, I have had the following happen to 2 different Lenovo Legion Y530 laptops in the last week. For the first laptop it was accidentally allowed to run down to zero. For the second laptop it was intentially run down to zero to try to recreate this problem.  Unfortunately it succeeded. Here are the steps:Laptop runs down to zero and shuts off.  When plugged in, on power on, states laptop was not powered down normally and then brings up Recovery screen (blue screen).  Claims missing or errors in iaStorAC.sys.  The first laptop problem claimed HAL.dll was missing or corrupt. From the blue screen, most options lead back to this recovery screen.  Only the BIOS options goes elsewhere. From the novo button, I've tried:- System Recovery - appears to work but returns to Recovery screen.- Restore from Restore point (after booting from USB) - claims it works (after some hd repair) and then returns to Recovery screen.- From command line, repairing the boot config data (ran into permission errors on some commands) - no success. I called Lenovo support and after verifying that the harddrive was still recognized by the bios, had me attempt System Recovery from the novo menu.  When that failed, claimed it was a hardware issue and needed to be sent in for repair.  Seems unlikely it would be the same hardware problem on 2 separate laptops.  It seems related to the power down corrupting the boot files. From the recent reviews at Bestbuy... Thanks to some fine input from others I completed my initial testing of various configurations of m2 SSD drives in my new P72 Thinkpad.  What I was wanting to determine was how each option performed and then how they measured up against each other.  I knew I did not want the standard out of the box 512Gb NVMe drive that came with the P72 but given I could not get it now without I got it with the base drive.  I have other places I can use it so it is not for naught.  I purchased 2x 2Tb Samsung 970EVO m2 SSD's for use in my P72.  My assumption was I would want to use them in RAID0 configuration but I wanted to see the data first.  For testing I used Anvil Pro.  There are others, probably better perhaps but this is what I used.  I have an internal spreadsheet for my own purposes as I wanted to see how my existing systems measured against the P72.  So others understand what system/setup the names on my graph represent here is a summary: Sam 970 RAID0 = P72 with 2x 2Tb Samsung 970EVO in RAID0 configurationSam 970 RAID1 = P72 with 2x 2Tb Samsung 970EVO in RAID1 conigurationSam 970 = P72 with 1x 2Tb Samsung 970EVO in slot 0 standard formatLenovo Base = P72 with Lenovo Base 521Gb m2 in slot 0 standard formatSam 960 = Custom Win10 desktop with 1x 1Tb Samsung 960EVO m2 on Asus z170 MB with 4Ghz Skylake CPU, 32Gb DDR4Sam 860 SSD = 1x Samsung 4Tb 2.5" SSD in data slot for P72.  NO DATA YET.  NOT INSTALLED.Sam Sata III = Standard... I've had my laptop for less than 2 months, but recently I got stuck in an auto-repair loop (possibly a virus), so I took my laptop to my university's tech center. Once there they wiped my laptop clean and installed a fresh install of Windows 10. A couple of my drivers got deleted like my mouse and wifi drivers, but they re-installed them there as well. Everything was fine just a little slow, I re-installed all my apps/games back. I never really checked for Windows 10 updates until a couple days ago because I randomly got this error when trying to play my games. It would say something like this: "ERROR: your video card does not support alpha blending with floating point render targets (D3DFMT_A16B16G16R16F)". I have a GTX 1050 ti, so I was really confused. I looked up how to fix it on other forums and even Reddit. Apparently, this happens when your laptop tries using the GPU built into the motherboard instead of the actual graphics card. Many suggested uninstalling the current GPU drivers and re-installing them. So that's exactly what I tried, but now whenever I try to express install the newest driver on Geforce Experience; it says "The Standard NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. The screen will go black for about 1 second andthe laptop's fans will slow down for just a moment before the game resumes and the fans go back up.This will happen pretty much any time the temps hit 90°C again. I have a Notepal U3 laptop cooler with 1 fan on each GPU intake slot and 1 on the center of the laptop.I have also repasted the CPU & BOTH GPUs with Arctic Cooling Silver 5.I have modded the bottom case of my laptop to allow more air into the laptop. The BIOS is also modified (so are the GPU BIOSes) To stop the crashing I tried upping the voltage on both cards by 012.5mV - 025.0mV. This didn'twork at all. Games always seem to stop responding when temps get to 90°C. However my laptopshouldn't even techinically be getting this hot in the first place. I'd rather max temps to sitaround 80C. This laptop has always run pretty hot and I've always felt like I got a lemon as others haveexplained to me that their laptops don't get anywhere near as hot as this. As such I have some questions for other Y510p users: 1. What are your MAX temps whilst doing some extensive gaming?2. Have you repasted your CPU & GPU?3. Have you modded your Y510p fan intakes to allow for more air?4. Do you use a cooler?5. Do any of the games you try and play ever stop respo... Read more
