I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

i have been through about 3 wifi cards in the spand of 2 laptops looking for the best range and speed without the interference. i had a realtek dualband wifi card with bluetooth and i sold that to get a a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 expecting that this would be the top of the line in wifi standards. i mainly sold my realtek because a issue with buletooth, if im using the wifi and i connect my bluetooth headset to the laptop the sound would be choppy and laggy. so when i got my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 i was amazed that this "was" no longer the issue. i connected my HBS-900 and walked out my apartment and down the hall and the bluetooth was clean! but it seems that now perhaps driver change the bluetooth on my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 is also bad. i cant even step 2 feet away from my laptop without it cracking to hell, at 3 feet and not facing the laptop i disconnect. it was never like that before and i know its not my headset because when i connect it to my phone its flawless, and i connected another bluetooth adapter and tried and its fine. the issue is that when the wifi is on theirs too much interference and yes when i connect to a 5g network the issue is greatly reduced but for me 5g is mostly not a option. i was wondering if theirs a such thing as a shielded internal wifi? wouldn't think so... i would just love if i could use the bluetooth and the wifi flawlessly. i already for another reason plan to get a Alfa AC1200 external wifi adapter... Hi am havign issues installing my wifi drivers for my HP 3115M notebook. I believe I have the right drivers, however when I install it will extract the files but not install them. It will then say the files were installed incorectly. Then It tells me that they are already installed. I don't know what to do at this point. If any can help point me in the right direction that would be great, at this point all I have enthernet connection but no wifi.

A:HP 3115M Wifi drivers will not install properly

Hi: There can be one of several model wireless cards in your notebook. Please do the following steps so I can confirm what model wlan card your notebook has, and then I will post the link to the correct wlan driver for it. Go to the device manager, there should be an Other Devices category. Under that category, there should be a device labeled Network Controller. Please post the hardware ID for the device labeled Network Controller. To find the hardware ID, click on the Network Controller device. Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller device window. Now you should see a Property drop down list and it will be set to Device Description. Drop down on that list and select the second item (Hardware ID's). Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

Hi there, i just got my DV9543cl and am quite loving it i can even play gothic 3 on almost maxed out settings, something that i dint expect from the 8600M GS card, altough not a 1440 resolution.
However my main problem is that i need to put bluetooth to the laptop as it only came with the wifi option.
i thought that i could upgrade to the "Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection and Bluetooth" card, in order to have wifi + bluetooth internally.
HP help/support advise me that i cannot upgrade this laptop to a internal wifi+bluetooth.
Can anyone share some wisdom to this? Is there an internal card i can use to install bluetooth to the laptop? mainly i need bluetooth for my connectivy with phone and also a bluetooth wireless mouse, so no extra devices hang out the laptop ports.

any ideas, much appreaciated .

A:Internal bluetooth / wifi - HP DV9543cl

The Guru's at HP say No... Go to some laptop parts websites and see if there is a 3rd party Bluetooth card available for your HP model. Do a Google search. If Blutooth is not an option for your model, I'm afraid that you are out of luck.

Shouldn't you have checked for the Blutooth option before you purchased the HP laptop?

A:Replace WiFi PCIe card with WiFi/Bluetooth combo card.

Given that there will be no antenna inside the system for bluetooth, you're better off with one of these:

I've got an older laptop with an internal Ethernet 10/100 NIC card and a 2.4g wireless adapter.
I now have an ISP Internet package that provides up to 250mb download speeds. However I can never get over 100mb as it seems both my internal wired and wireless max out at 100mb.

If I purchase a usb wireless ac adapter that can handle download speeds of 300mb @ 2.4g and & 800+mb @5g will:
1) I get the speeds I'm paying for (up to 250mb download) or
2) the fact my PC's internal NIC (network interface card) max is 100mb that's all I can expect?

In other words, does a usb wireless ac dual band adapter work independent of all other network devices on one's PC to provide the best Internet speed or is the speed still throttled by one's PC internal NIC card limitations.

My notebook only finds wifi if it is within a few feet of the router. The router is not the problem--my smartphone does not have a problem with wifi. And my notebook will not pickup wifi in other places with good routers. A tech told me it is probably my wifi card. But would I be picking up wifi at all (even a few feet from the router) if the card were bad? If you think it is more likely the card, then what are some good replacement cards? Would like to get 5g as well as 2.4g if possible. If it is the antenna, what kind of antenna do I get?  Please be as specific as possible. Thank you

Hello, and for this, call Acer support for exact parts, as they make them. If you wish to do it manually, make sure the wifi adapter is easily visible and removable. It should look like this:And must be mPCIe, not mSATA. You can replace it as long as they follow the same format, but you carry your own risk.

First, CALM DOWN and look at my profile picture. Calm? Now post your message. If I helped, a Kudos would be great! Marking as solution will help others as well, thank you!

Hi all,

I need help to solve the following problem:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

I have an USB Wifi adapter for my network connection.
It is connected to 1 of the front USB ports of my PC.

When i try to read my SD cards using the internal front card reader, and i have the Wifi adapter connected the reading speed is very slow <1Mbyte/s.
If i unplug the Wifi USB the speed immediately goes up to >4Mbyte/s.

I guess i have some driver configuration conflict, but i cannot identify it.

I need your help to identify this conflict and to solve it.

Hello everybody, I have a thinkpad S540 with an Intel Wireless-N 7260 since 1 year ago. As it happens with another users, sometimes the wifi does not work apropriately (the connection cannot be established), and I have to reboot to fix the problem. I purchased a used laptop, HP G42, and the wifi was working fine, however in the last day or so, it stopped connecting to the internet. I have decided that the adapter died and needed to be replaced. In my naivity, I "assumed" (maybe a bad idea) that I could just throw another one in from my spare box of parts. NO? Really? I get a message that the wifi adapter isn't supported by the bios? Am I to believe that this is a "proprietary" wifi lan card? I'm hoping not, but am not feeling the HP love here.

I am building a car PC out of an AMD E350 motherboard (link below...), which has mini PCIe & SO-DIMM slots as opposed to standard expansions & RAM. It is a simple, low power system, ideal for the application. I believe Win8 is the perfect platform for the application as well, since it works nicely with a touchscreen-oriented interface.

I bought a WiFi/bluetooth combo card off of eBay (link also below), but thus far, the WiFi isn't working. The BT works fine, but the wireless does not.

I verified that the driver is installed & working in Device Manager, but Windows does not give me the option to connect to a wireless network. In my Network Connections dialog, it only shows the wired LAN and the BT.

I am willing to accept the fact that the wireless driver is not compatible with Win8, but also wonder if it is a problem with the card?

A:Trouble with WiFi/Bluetooth card

Actually, I just double checked, and the driver is NOT installed for the Wi-Fi card. I was looking at the driver for the regular LAN controller. I was tricked because it is a MoBo integrated LAN controller, but the driver labels it as a Realtek PCIe.

I did download the driver exe from Realtek and I also tried the one from HP. Neither seems to load the WiFi functionality of this card.

Also, if it helps, the card is a Realtek branded for certain HP laptops.

My fiancee and I currently have the Dell Inspiron 17R SE laptop with the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230, and it has worked for a few months now up until the Monday of last week. While on the internet, my fiancee was noticing her wifi speed slowed down to a crawl. She performed speed tests to find out that the speed was not as high as it used to be. She updated drivers for the computer, as well as removed any clutter that would cause the wifi slowdown.
When we tried many options, they did not give us the results that we were looking for. Finally, after some process of elimination, we concluded that our wifi card needed a replacement. I don't want to get any old card to use and then find out that it doesn't fit or is not compatible with Windows 10. I have been taking my time to research what could be compatible to improve my laptop computer, but I have been coming up short.

What I would like to know is what wifi cards are compatible with our Dell computer so that we can get this replaced as soon as possible without having to pay out the nose for unneeded computer repair?

Hi all,My T460p came with a 8260NGW, FRU 00JT530, and it is a vPro part.I had it replaced with a 9260NGW, but while the card worked fine, the AMT menu (and prompt for the configuration shortcut at boot menu) disappeared.I did a bit more research and found there are actually two different FRU's, one is vPRO (01AX771) the other isn't (01AX769 ).The first 9260 was indeed a non vPRO part and as such I replaced it with my 8260 (after my motherboard was replaced) while I ordered a vPRO part (01AX771). AMT was back in the bios menu with the 8260 (note: also new motherboard), but as soon as I replaced it with the 01AX771 part (vPRO) it is gone again.Anybody cares to explain or advise on the topic? Thanks!

Just picked up an Inspiron 5576 gaming laptop a week ago. Was pulling my hair out thinking I had a router problem as I was getting great speed over a wired Ethernet line but terrible slowdowns over wifi. I tried rolling back/updating drivers, tried resetting the router, changing channels, etc. Our other devices were running normally, just the new laptop couldn't get over 3-4 mb/s download while everything else was testing at 45+ on a 50/50 network.

Anyway, found a cheap USB wifi dongle to test. Now it works normally, so it makes me think the actual card in the laptop is either bad or really poor reception. The upload speeds are normal, so maybe it's an antenna issue? Either way, since wifi cards are cheap, I was just going to replace it rather than send it in for service.
I've never replaced a wifi card... what's the best replacement that will fit my specific model? I think the current card is Qualcomm QCA9377.

Also, while I had the back panel open, I noticed I have an extra bay for a HDD. Will any 2.5 inch laptop drive work with this computer? Mine came with a 250gb SSD, would like a 2nd 500 gb drive for photo storage.

I would suggest before you look for a new wireless card that you open Programs and Features  and delete any Killer Wireless utilities listed there.  Then go into Device Manager and uninstall the device and check the box to uninstall all drivers.
It may be best to do this off line so have the new driver ready to install and then go offline while completing this process.
I installed the 1535 on one of my systems just to test.  I liked it so much I left it on that system.  Hopefully, the procedure above will help.

My PC doesn't get detect 5GHz and the increase bandwidth from my router, so I want to replace it. But before I take it apart, I want to make sure that I can do so and buy the right parts. Is this possible, and if so what should I get? I also want to add bluetooth as I remember the website had an option to do so, but bc the Costco Set Config was cheaper, I went that route instead.  Is it possible to do this internally w/o an external part [like a usb dongle] PS. Here is the  Product Number: C8P47AV       Is there like an installation/repair guide for my laptop model too too?

The Maintenance and Service Guide found HERE, says there are several choices for the WLAN module.675794-001 710418-001 includes BlueTooth690020-001 includes BlueTooth709848-001670290-001  If your unit has an Intel CPU - supports BlueTooth - this card has the best specs of the ones listed but looks as if none of these list 5GHZ as supported.

Upgrading several T61s both with CPUs and WIFI cards.  Have some with bluetooth some not.  Bluetooth card is inside display screen and would prefer to leave that alone.  Was looking at replacing current b/g wifi cards with a faster one and if possible a combo wifi and bluetooth card.  Will install middleton BIOS to get around whitelist. Will be running Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 Ultimate in the T61s1.  Will the Intel Wireless-AC 7265 cards work with both wifi and bluetooth in the T61s?2.  Can I somehow disable either the existing bluetooth adapters or the bluetooth in the 7265 cards so I do not get conflicts with 2 bluetooth adapters.I am assuming I can download the drivers for the new adapters from the internet.

The cards and sockets are physically a different size.

It looks like neither of the drivers above support bluetooth in Windows 10 Home 64-bit, but someone might be able to help.

The WiGig card's driver is the latest, and the 3YX8R cannot be detected by any means!
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.

Hello Every once in a while, my Microsoft bluetooth mouse stops working. Then I check the bluetooth device in the Windows device manager and it is no longer there, as if my laptop didn't have bluetooth at all. The only work-arround is to reboot. Then it works for a while, can be days or sometimes maybe even weeks before it stops working again. I found this article https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/solutions/ht506394 which seems to describe my problem. Unfortunately, the proposed solution doesn't work as my driver is already up to date ( Any idea?

I have an ACER Aspire V3-771G-53234G75 Maii laptop.
Some time ago, I added a Crucial M500 (120 GB - SATA 6Gbps - 2.5") internal SSD next to the WD Blue HDD (750GB - SATA 6 Gbps - 2.5" - 5400 RPM) for the OS (Windows 8.1) and the other software. Works very well.

Is it a good idea to replace now the HDD with my documents, pictures, etc. by another internal HDD with a higher rotational speed or, better (?), by another internal SSD (and if yes, which one can you recommend me ?) ?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Best regards.

A:Replacement of internal hdd.

Helllo loover1!
If the laptop itself allows you to run two drives simultaneously, there shouldn't be a problem. I suppose the second you have added on the place of the Optical drive?
So basically it depends on the manufacturer of the laptop and if the motherboard can handle it. Seeing your storage devices, I suppose it would. Two SSDs is a rarely seen combination, if the second drive (the one you want to replace) would be just for storage, then a HDD would be enough.
Still, if you would like to fully check, then advise with a professional in a repairshop, but I would believe you would be fine.

Hi, I have a XPS 13 9343 (i5/QHD) purchased refurbished from 3rd party, recently installed clean W10.
The Dell tool indicates to me that I should be installing:
Installing I get failure log at the bottom.
Via Device Manager as mentioned the WiFi adapter under Network is not there, scanning for hardware changes does not help.
I have tried manually installing inf files but I don't get any options under "Model" when I try to install it through legacy hardware.
I'm starting to think the Wifi/Bluetooth component is either faulty or entirely missing from the vendor (I have not opened it up and wouldn't know how to diagnose this myself).
I've attached a separate wifi dongle which works as does connecting to Ethernet via a USB adapter.
Any other ideas of what it could be? Thanks.

I need to replace the WD Caviar 60GB EIDE HD from my COMPAQ Presario desktop PC, Model 5003 US. The failed drive is dated 13FEb2001. This is a 5400 RPM drive, with 2MB buffer and a max data rate of 100MB although some versions of the same model are lower data rates per the WD spec sheet.

Do i need to replace this with an exact duplicate or can I install the drives advertised as 7200RPM and/or 8MB buffer?

Also, I may decide to install two internal HD drives to separate the OS from data. The COMPAQ manual says the existing data cable must be replaced when installing a slave drive, although it includes a second plug for a spare drive. Is the COMPAQ statement valid and what type of replacement cable would be required? Where are they available?

Any advice and suggestions greatly appreciated.
