unwanted page break

Q: unwanted page break

Can anyone help with removing the pagebreak on page 1 (so as to bring page 1 and 2 together?) thanks

Preferred Solution: unwanted page break

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a user that created a table in word.
The first two pages break correctly, but the 3rd page breaks about half way down the page. The fourth and fifth pages look fine. The first couple of rows on page 4 are small enough that they should fit on the bottom of page 3...... I would appreciate any suggestions.

A:table break/page break in Word

Click in table.
Hit Table-->Select table
Check the following settings:

1. Format-Paragraph, Line & Page Breaks tab. Keep with Next and Keep Rows together--turn OFF

2. File-Page Setup, Layout tab. Alignment must be Top (not center)

3. (for Word 97)
Table-Cell Height & Width. Allow rows to break across pages must be OFF.

3. (for Word 2K)
Table-Table Properties. (I forget which tab.) Allow rows to break across pages must be OFF.

It could be a combination of 2 or more of the above 3...

We are using Word 2003 SP2, running on on WinXP version 2002 SP2.
to briefly illustrate our problem:

Say I have four Word files, called B, C, D and E. Each file is three-to-five pages long, and each file ends with a Next page section break, created by dropping down the Insert menu and selecting Break... > Next page. Remember that - each of the four files ends with a Section Break (Next Page).

I create a fifth file, called A, which is a composite of files B through E inserted as links (because I want to be able to update files B through E and then pull those changes into file A). My new and blank file A is open, and I drop down the Insert menu, select File, and navigate to the file called B. I press the Insert button at the lower-right of the Insert File window and select Insert as Link. I repeat this process for files C, D and E so that, when I finish, file A is made up of files B through E, each inserted as link.

When I review file A and scroll from top to bottom, I notice that file D's text does not begin at the top of the page following the end of file C's text, as you would expect with a Section Break (Next Page) inserted at the end of file C, but rather the Section Break (Next Page) has somehow turned into a Section Break (Continue) during the linking process to file A, and so file D's text begins on the same page and a line or two below the end of file C's text. This is bad.

Can someone tell me how I can prevent my Section Break (Next Page) f... Read more

I have worked out how to set the print area using a macro, but what I want to know is can you make the excel not split the data between pages. So if you have a block of information is there a way to have a macro or VB code that moves the line breaks so that the print area must always keep that block of information on the same page.
Thanks David

A:print area and setting page break to show block of info on same page in Excel

Hi, I guess a macro is the best solution but it must be written, you'll have to calculate the number of rows and columns per block v.s. the page size to set the page break.
This includes margins, header rows and foorter rows.
You could record a macro and then set the blocks of data as you need them.
Stop the recording ans see how it's done, then edit it to suit your purposes and replace the fixed references to dynamic ranges

Hi I am trying to print pages off the net which are set with page breaks (you can choose with or without pagebreaks), but when I go print preview/or print, my computer seems to abandone the page breaks and prints the pages overlapping.

Is this a setting I can control adjust in IE

I use IE7

This has only started happening recently

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

A:Page Break Handling

On these pages, did you check for a Printer Friendly version?

Personal rant:

There is a problem with the defaults in WEB publishing, especially when CSS (Style Sheets) are used. Ever notice how some pages print with the right side chopped off (at least in IE6, I hear IE7 takes care of this problem)? The problem stems from a long-time issue of HTML formats (including CSS) of defaulting to pixels for sizing. IMHO this is a very BIG mistake, the default for sizing should be percent. This would allow your WEB pages to automatically resize to the viewer's screen AND resize for printing.

Many WEB Publishers take the lazy way and just use the pixel default and do not notice what affect is has on viewers, especially when printing, hence the extra work of publishing a Printer Friendly version of their WEB page.

I have a file which is slightly wider than letter size and about 10 pages in length.
I don't want to change column width so I select fit to in page setup.
When I go print preview after that, horizontal page breaks are gone.(only at the bottom of the print area)
I go back to page set-up and select Adjust to: which now less than 100% due to trying to fit in letter size width. Now, page breaks are back.
Should I do this every time, or is there any way to see page break even though I select fit to?

I have a report in MS Access that is to return up to 32 records, no more, but possibly less. For the date, a user inputted criteria, there can be more than 32 records for the day. What I did is work with the page margins to be sure that only 32 are returned on each page, which works great.

The problem comes in when I try to sum the amounts. I need the first 32 records on page 1 to sum, then have the next 32 on page 2 sum independent of the first page, and so forth. I tried putting =sum([Amount]) in the page footer, but this gave me a #Error. Is there any way that I can either force a page break after 32 records so that it will treat each 32 as its own set of data? If not, is there any way that I can get the sum in the page footer to work? I've been pulling my hair out trying to solve this one, please help.

Thanks in advance,

Hello Good Morning,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me move a pagebreak using VBA. I have a form and it is variable in the number of rows and the height of those rows, there are groups of data that do not have a consistant height (could be 12.75 a row or 100 a row) and also no not have a consistant number of rows. (excel 2002) I have researched for 2 days and have not found anything that did this or something like this (that I understood anyway)

1) Page Set Up 100% of normal size THEN
2) Checks make sure the page break is NOT in the middle of a data set
3) If it is, Move it.

Say the data i do not want to break up is in rows 30 - 40, then 42-56, then another group of 8-12 rows I know I am not supposed to use the "Select" Option, but my idea to get this to work is,

Select Rows (30:39)
If pagebreak is here then
select pagebreak
move pagebreak to Row 29
end if

Select Rows (42:55)
If pagebreak is here then
select pagebreak
move to Row 41
end if

Select Rows (No Page Break Here For all my data set)
If pagebreak is here then
select pagebreak
move to Row 41
end if

end sub

Does anyone have any thoughts? Is there anyway to pull this off? Or something that will have the same effect?

I dont mind tedious, when I am getting a new macro to work.

A:Page Break - Not in specific locations.

I've come across something like this once before.

For your example, I created the four "names ... to be defined" ("curly" quotes must be replaced with "straight" quotes).

Then, w/r/t "Select Rows (30:39)" I made row 39 way high so that the "boundary" rows would definitely be on different pages.

Then I ran this:

Sub test()
Range("A30") = "=PageOfPages"
Row30Page = Range("A30")
Range("A39") = "=PageOfPages"
Row39Page = Range("A39")
If Row30Page <> Row39Page Then
MsgBox "We need to tweak the layout."
End If
End Sub

With r39 way high it gives a prompt. Resetting r39 to default height and re-running gives no prompt. Do you follow?

The little black square is in the margin to the left of a paragraph at the top of page 3 of my document. I have text boxes on all 13 pages occupying the left half forcing the text outside of the boxes to align on the right side of the pages. The boxes are aligned with the left and bottom margins and the anchors are locked. The same thing is happening at the top of page 2 but nowhere else in the document. I can't figure out what the difference is or how it got this way. I've double-clicked on the square to get into Line and Page Breaks in Paragraph Formatting and unchecked all of the options with no success. The line above does show an auto page break. Any ideas?

I know very little about coding, but have found it very useful...does anyone have any ideas for code that would look at a spreadsheet and insert page breaks with the criteria that if several items are the same (e. g. phone numbers) they would be forced onto the same page - putting the break at the top of the next page?
I already have code that will insert a break at every change - what I need is, if I have the page formatted to have 10 rows but the numbers come in groups of anything from 1 to n together, if the numbers (going down in a column) are: 111222333444 and the page allows for 10 rows, the break would be after the 3s, but if the data was 12223334555 the break would come after the 4.

I would like to create a mailmerge document with "consecutive" data (ie: first name, last name, gift amount) that I want to keep in the SAME page from one record to the next until I get to the real bottom of the page. I cannot find a way to make the merged document NOT put a page break between each record (word 2007). Where can I find such a command?

Also when I tab between each field, the fields line up for the FIRST record, but then they are out of wack for subsequent records. How can I assure that the data in the records will line up throughout the whole merged document? ie:
first name1 last name1 amount1
first name2 last name2 amount2
first name3 last name3 amount3
etc, etc., etc.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

A:Solved: word mail merge page break

I've used the merge feature quite often in the past, using the Mail Merge wizard, which is still included in Word 2007. But I've never had occasion to do the type of merge you are wanting. But I have heard (in which forum I don't remember) that there is such a thing as a "directory" merge in Word, which prints a continuous listing of the data fields, laid out as you specified them in your post.

For my own curiosity, I just tried using Word 2007's Help feature to find information on a directory merge; sadly, it seems to be lacking, or missing entirely, from what I can see. But I just tried this, and it seems to work: Start the merge wizard, and when it asks you what type of document you are working on, choose Directory. This will allow you to choose to specify which fields, one by one, you want on each line of your printed listing. To take care of the column alignment problem, I would suggest that you create a one-row table (with or without borders, and with or without any before/after spacing you want) to hold the fields you want on each record of your listing. When I chose to complete the merge, using one of my own data files, Word produced a continous listing, one line for each record in my data file, filling each page until all data records were printed. Of course, you can specify which records you want included, if you don't want all of them, during the merge process.

Hope this will help.

I have a form that I need to print on one page. Here's my current CSS:
@media print {

This works in every browser I've tried, except IE (currently running IE 11. In IE, the Zoom shrinks the form so it fits on one page width wise, but it inserts a page break where it would normally put it if I didn't use the Zoom. I also loose the centering of the text at the top.I've tried using height and page-break-inside: avoid parameters, but no luck. Any help in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Guys,

I use Word 97, but I am sure that this question is applicable for all Word versions. The Page Break feature in word seems to be self-explanitory (start a new page) but could you provide an explanation for the other page break features that appear in the page break dialog box? For example,
below the Insert Page break box, if memory serves correctly there is a "section break" option, and radio buttons that allow you to select a section break for a "new page" or a "continious page" and then to the right you have options for "odd" and "even" pages. (Please correct this if I am wrong here) My question is, when would you use the section break feature and wouldn't this just start a new page in Word? More important, what's the difference between selecting a new page section break vs. just inserting a new page for a regular "page break?" Any info or examples about the use of this feature would be helpful! Thanks!

I have Access 93 SP2.

I have a report where I am doing calculations on each row of data in the Sub Detail_Print. What is happening is that the detail line that is to print on the top of the 2nd page and any detail line to print first on subsequent pages is having this routine executed twice.

I have created the smallest possible report which simply selects a list of order numbers. The only section is the Detail. The only line in the Sub Detail_Print is

MsgBox "OrderNumber is" & Me.OrderNumber

In Preview, I see a msgbox for each line then the ordernumber that should print at the top of the second page shows its msgbox, the first page appears, when I click the arrow to go to the next page the same msgbox appears again.

It appears that Access gets the line, executes the code, decides it doesn't fit on that page, does the new page, regets the line and re-executes the code placing it on the new page.

I could find nothing on this anywhere. Has anyone else seen this? Is there some setting I am missing?

Thank you!

What program is "common" opening in? Or is it a file folder?
Click the Help menu to see what program -- if it just says About Windows, then it is a folder that is opening in My Computer. If so, check the address bar to see the full path to this folder. If the address bar is not displayed, click View | Toolbars and check it. If your system is not set to display the full path, you can click the down arrow at the right end of the address bar, and that will let you see just where this "Common" folder is located. paste that path into your next reply.

Hi guys
I use Windows 98

Until yesterday - whenever I logged in to the net, the first page I saw - and the one I wanted by default - was the www.megalink.net web site. (That is our ISP). But something happened yesterday that is very distressing. Since then, when I click on the I.E. icon to log-on , what comes up is a Google page - with the headline "I can Find It" at the top. And the URL in the address line is www.icanfindit.net/?aid=577.

So I went into IE Tools, Internet options, General and sure enough, that new URL is in the address line for the home page address. So I changed it back to the Megalink URL, clicked APPLY and OK. Then I manually changed the URL in the IE screen to Megalink, and it came up. I went back into Tools, Internet Options and clicked save current.

But when I log off and back on - the same problem recurs. And while the Google page is loading, this line appears on the task bar at the bottom of the screen: http://4-counter.com/?b=crue

Any thoughts?

I am running a Dell desktop win xp pro sp 3. I have a worm that I cannot remove. It will open additional pages in IE that seem to be selling or advertising info. I have the pop up blocker on. Using Avast professional addition. I have done a full system scan and a boot time scan, both indicate signs of a trojan but cannot delete or move. I also run updated versions of Ad-Aware and Spybot search & destroy and delete what they find. Also have run CCleaner and delete what it finds. I did have the postcard.exe virus/worm, but now it appears to be gone, but the IE pages still open as well as some pages won't open at all. Please advise what more I can do. Thanks - Kevin

Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding.
Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below.

It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence.

A:Unwanted home page ?!?

Click on the link in my signature to download Hijack This. Download it and click "Save".

Itís very important that you save it to its own folder on your hard drive, such as program files (not temporary files or the desktop), so that it can create proper back-ups and be able to restore them if necessary.

The downloaded program will be a .zip file. Extract the .exe file from it and save in the permanent folder you just created.

Click on Hijackthis.exe to launch the program.

Click the "Scan" button when the scan is finished the scan button will become "Save Log" click that and save the log.

The log should open in notepad. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.

DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

You are infected with a variant of the CoolWebSearch.Download CWShredder from the below link and unzip it into a directory. Start CWShredder and click on the FIx button to have it remove all CWS infections it finds.Download CWShredder from:http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zipAfter you download the program, unzip it into a directory. Make sure all browser windows are closed and double click on the cwshredder.exe to start the program. When the program is loaded click on the "Check for Update" button, and if it finds an new version it will download it. You should then double click on cwshredder.exe again and click on the "FIX" button (not the "Scan only" button) and let it scan your computer. To get the best results it is recommended that you run it in safe mode. Reboot windows and press F8 at boot/windows startup, usually right after the beep. Then select safe mode.A tutorial that goes over this process step by step can be found here:How to remove CoolWebSearch with CoolWeb ShredderOnce that is completed you should follow these steps in order to clean your computer of Malware which can include Viruses, Trojans, Worms, Spyware, Hijackers and DialersStep 1:Download Spybot and Adaware from the following locations and install them. I seem to be infected with some malware that directs my browser to an unwanted web site--'Adultfriendfinder'.

In Safe Mode, I have run updated versions of AVG, Ewido, Microsoft Antispyware, Spybot S&D, CW Shredder, Adaware w/ VX2, Spyware Blaster, Spyware Guard. Also ran Windows Update for all fixes, etc.

I previously had a program listed in Add/Remove Programs called Mysearchbar, but I couldn't uninstall it, and a search of My Computer didn't locate it. However, the last set of scans seems to have removed it.

Also--possibly related--I am unable to enable Internet Connection Firewall on my dialup connection. I get a message 'Cannot enable shared access. Error 1060: the specified service does not exist as an installed service.' I don't know how to deal with this.

I'm using Windows XP Home.

Here's the Hijackthis log. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I must have opened a funky e-mail. Somehow every time I reboot, the home page on my IE6 goes to a search engine that I do not want. I have tried changing the home page and it works until I reboot. I have also gone into regedit and changed the home page spec, but it still changes at reboot. How can I get rid of this thing?

Hope someone can help. As I search on Google, a automatic unwanted new page pops up with an MSN Search on it. How can you turn this off or stop it from happening? If it wasn't MSN one would say its a malware of some kind. Any one know how to deal with it?
Thanks in advance.

A:Unwanted MSN Search page

MSN still has redirects though, and that makes what it is doing malicious (because you are not in control of how your system is working).

Check your hosts file and see if there are any entries there that shouldn't be. That's the easiest way to redirect a search. Did you download any MSN toolbars or anything?

I notice that others have posted something about the subject unwanted page that pops up when I go to some site (like CNET) and click a Download button. The URL of the page is http://rvzr-a.akamaihd.net/sd/wrap-0.01.html?u=http%3A%2F%2Frvzr-a.akamaihd.net%2Fsd%2Fapps%2Ffusionx%2F0.0.3.html%3Faff%3D1700-1016. It is always blank, but pops up in front of the page I'm on. I have run Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, and they find nothing. I have HiJackThis on my laptop and can run and save a log, but per the instructions, will not do that until asked.

I notice this only happens with Firefox, my default browser. It does not appear if I use IE, so I suspect something has altered the configuration file for Firefox.

What is this thing and how do I stop it from appearing?

I have a Lexmark Optra Lxi + printer connected to a NetWare 4.11 server by parrallel cable. I have two new computers using Windows 2000 Pro and every time I print from those machines I get a sort of cover page with the users name spelled out ascii style:

and some other information including the app that sent the print job, time, etc. I can't seem to find out out to shut this function off.

I have 4 other machines running Win98 and they DO NOT get the extra cover page when they print.

PS I put this in networking because I'm not sure if the problem is with the server (Novell) or the clients printing on the network (Win2K)
