I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

However, when I restarted my windows, I saw that the issue is still in place and I cannot run windows again. The system force me to restart or go to Advanced Options. I tried several more things like refreshing the system, again reseting the system to factory settings but none went well. I never touched hidden partition so I am sure that the initial backup is healthy. Not sure what is wrong... CPU: Intel i5-4200 M CPU @2.50 GHzSystem Memory: 4096 MB I appreciate your solution offers. Thanks,

Hi! The Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2017/2:nd edition has an OLED panel option. Lenovo's download page for this model, https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/hk/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-... , offers a driver "Intel "OLED Panel Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad X1 Yoga (Type: 20JD, 20JE, 20JF, 20JG)", 1.0.0.5, 2017/10/02, in the Display and Video Graphics section. In Windows, the device appears as "Intel(R) OLED Panel Driver" under "System devices" in the Windows Device Manager. Normally I'd think all needed to drive a display is the graphics driver (e.g. "Intel(R) HD Graphics 620" under "Display adapters") and a monitor file for resolution, frequency and color calibration ("OLED Display 2560x1440" under "Monitors"). So, why do we need an "Intel(R) OLED Panel Driver", and what does this device actually do?

Hello Lenovo, I work daily on my Lenovo Thinkpad T570 and I am very satisfied with the machine. However, there is quite an irritating problem with the laptop. The fact is, that my laptop runs Windows 10 October build 1809 and runs the newest driver from Lenovo for the Intel GPU.That is version: 24.20.100.6344.This driver version causes a lot of screen flickering on a screen connected through the HDMI port.Intel has released a new driver. Version: 25.20.100.6444.To solve the problem, Lenovo has to push this new driver. Do others also experience this problem with this driver that is known to be faulty with the October update?

Hi Zoori,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that ?Dolby Digital plus Advanced Audio? is not working as expected in your G510 Laptop and displaying an error message to install the upgraded version of the Dolby driver in the computer, below are the troubleshooting steps to check and resolve this issue.

Open Device Manager. (Right-click on the Start button and choose Device Manager).
Expand the Sound, Video and Games Controllers section.Right Click on the Conexant Smart Audio HD item and choose Uninstall.
Still in Device Manager, click on Action>Scan for new Hardware.
The Conexant Smart Audio item will re-appear.Right-Click on it and choose update driver.Navigate to d:\drivers\audio.When that's done, close Device Manager.Open File Manager and navigate to D:\drivers\Audio\DolbyGUI and install Dolby Digital plus Advanced Audio.
That should get rid of the error message and this version of Dolby Digital plus Advanced Audio should be working as expected.

Do post us back if the issue persists.

Best Regards

Hello dear Lenovo community, I've been having a problem regarding an HDD caddy for about two months now. After deciding I wanted to make my G510 a little bit faster, I bought a Kingston 240GB SSD (don't think the brand is needed) to put instead of the SSHD I previously had. Of course 240 GB is not that much. I only wanted it for the Windows partition. So, I also bought an HDD caddy to put it instead of the ODD (Optical Disk Drive). So far so good. Everything came and I made the swap. The SSD inside the original place of my SSHD and then I removed the ODD to put the HDD caddy with the SSHD in it. The problem is, it is not recognized when booting. The laptop just hangs/freezes at the Lenovo logo. I tried to switch places (SSHD in its original place and SSD in HDD caddy) and to my suprise, both of the drives were recognized, but I could not format my SSD and access it whatsoever. I discovered a workaround where I put the ODD tray back in, start Windows from the SSD, then while booted and loaded, I take the ODD tray out and insert the HDD caddy with the SSHD. Then, Intel Rapid Storage recognizes it and my drives are correctly shown. The problem is when I shutdown the laptop and turn it back on, I go back to my first problem, which is freezing Lenovo logo. The only way I can work with this, is if I just restart or put the laptop in Stand by. Even when I put it in Stand-by, sometimes the SSHD gets disconnected and I have to do the ODD tray thing again. Do you have an... Read more

I have tried different versions of bluetooth drivers, and even changed energy manager of 8.1 to the version of windows 7 (It helped previous time). The bluetooth service is set to start automatically on  every logon. I even tried to install dual boot Zorin OS, because usually Ubuntu OS doens't need drivers. However, even it couldn't find appropriate driver. Neither bluetooth is shown in device manager and PC settings, nor it can be added through legacy hardware in device manager. I will be glad to share any additional information if requiered. Using UEFI options, I booted using the USB and the installation screen I formatted my primary C drive .While trying to install the 64 bit version it shows "windows cannot be installed, the partition is of GPT style " I tried with a windows 8 version as well as a windows 10 version also, but the result was same .I have seen solutions in many places using command prompt List Disk option ,but I believe it will result in formatting the entire hard drive .Is there any way, I can install a 64 bit windows 7 ( or even windows 8 ) into my hard disk without losing all the data in other drives ( Since C drive is formatted already, it doesn't matter in that drive).I am waiting for  a clarified solution to solve this problem some how and get my laptop to a working condition, Please do help.(Meanwhile, I have  tried almost all options in UEFI menu like legacy/uefi boot mode/ priority settings, etc, Nothing has given any result other than this same warning .

Hi issu195 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As the GPT is set for UEFI and MBR for legacy , formating GPT to MBR with Diskpart would be an option . So other than this , You can try the other way around .

Hello! I have a G510 laptop that stopped working and does not boot into any OS at all. When starting up computer normally (using the power button) it shows the screen with Lenovo logo and the Windows loading icon loops endlessly. After restarting it says "Preparing automatic repair" but the problem is that it still keeps loading and won't go into Windows Recovery in any way. Even using the OneKey Recovery (the tiny button next to the power button) did not give any results. When I chose "System recovery" from the Novo Button Menu, it says loading files and after that, again, gets stuck in the screen with Lenovo logo. I have tried booting from Windows 10 Recovery DVD, which, after asking whether I would like to boot from DVD, led to the same Lenovo screen again and got stuck. And the DVD drive was working properly last time when I used it. I tried to run Ubunto OS from an external USB drive, with no success (reported an error of missing kernel). Earlier, the computer was working more or less normally. Could that indicate a hardware problem? How could I reset my computer or get into Windows Recovery?

I wanna know which Windows version works best with Lenovo G510, Windows 10 is out of question since it hasn't been tested for this laptop. So I guess Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 are the possible versions. I wouldn't mind installing Windows 7 since I don't use this laptop for Internet surfing.

Hello,I have recently bought a G510 laptop and all in all I like it - it does what I need it for. There is however one issue that really makes me reconsider even buying Lenovo again and that is the Wifi Card that is builtin. The Broadcom BCM43142 currently only work with the broadcom-wl kernel module under Linux and it doesn't work well. I get disconnects every 1-10 minutes that last at least a minute which makes it almost impossible to use WiFi properly. This wouldn't be so bad - after all WiFi cards are not very expensive but it turns out that all cards I tried so far are blocked by the BIOS. @Lenovo: I realise that Linux users are probably not your priority but can you please at least publish a list of compatible WiFi cards for your Laptops? Regards,Uli
