I have lenovo y70, this happens to me every day and it is irritating, it stops working even if i'm just using firefox and watching youtube videos, temperature of gpu is normal when this happens. I have windows 10 installed, its a fresh copy of windows 10 and not an upgrade. current driver version is: 10.18.15.4279 , i also had installed driver version from lenovo support site, which is: 10.18.15.4240, but it was also causing problems. Help would be appreciated, regards miha.

My screen goes all wonky if I run the intel turbo boost or the weather on my desktop. I keep getting this error message: display driver stopped responding and has recoveredDisplay driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for windows 7 Stopped responding and has successfully recovered.intel turbo boost.  It still does it sometimes but not often.  I tried running the diagnostic for the video stress both the 10 min and the 40 but going from step 3 where the pop-up box says no updates and I close that to continue to step 4 gathering test. I get the error msg. problem detected try again.

When I try to update my Yoga 260 20FD to the latest Intel HD Graphics Drivers (build ID N1CDT27W, v 20.19.15.4444) from the support site: the install package begins by stating that it will install 20.19.4444. However, once the installer starts to run, it begins to install an older version, v. 20.19.4352. Upon re-start, Control Panel and Device Manager both confirm I'm running 20.19.4352.I have tried un-installing the existing graphics driver and restarting prior to running the upgrade package, with no success. Build IDs N1CDT27W (v 20.19.15.4444) and, previously, N1CDT23W (v 20.19.4380) both install an older version of the graphics driver (v. 20.19.4352).Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here? I tried installing drivers but it failed to install and I proceeded with restarting anyway. Actually I  was goggling my problem and came here because someone had similar issue and was solved. I figured if he got it solved, why not try this website.

I am not sure if this is where it belongs, or if it is a Graphics Card issue. I have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433 with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) p6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB 1.3 cache). This only happens to me while I am playing The Sims 3. I have the game set on the lowest quality settings, even though my laptop "claims" to be HD LED, etc. This issue still happens. As you may know I cannot replace the graphics card as it is apart of the motherboard, and to buy a new motherboard with a better graphics card would cost more than a new computer. I have been the my manufacture's website and tried installing an update of the graphics card, and that didn't do the trick either. I am at my wits end, and I just want to play the game without it shutting down and freezing my computer. The reason I know the error is because I do Alt + Tab to get back to the desktop. The way it acts up while I am in game is the screen blacks out but I can still see the software's mouse, and then it blinks a couple times and then freezes completely, causing me to do a hard shut down. What can I do to resolve this issue?

Hello, community. My model is a 20DM000VUS, that's the one with the Intel HD 4400 and the Nvidia GeForce 840m.The display is driven by the Intel HD 4400, and I am not having any problem with that.The issue is that sometimes when I start a program using the Intel HD graphics card it either stutters a lot, freezes or stop completely. The mouse and stuff still works and I can close the program. Here is the message I recieve.I get it everytime I start a call in Skype, or run something a bit demanding... I never got this message in Windows 8, probably because it was the right driver, but I don't recall updating any Intel graphics drivers after I got to W10. The strange part, is that Intel Driver Update Utility tells me that installing their software update for this GPU won't work becuase I have a custom driver from Lenovo. Is that correct? Any ideas? Heard of any updates anywhere? Thanks in advance

A:TPY 14 - Intel Graphics Display Driver issue

Hi My TPY 14 uses Intel HD 5500 and GeFroce 940M. But I install the Intel driver updates without any issues. Maybe you can try something like getting the "Intel Display Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad Yoga 14 (Type 20DM, 20DN) - 2/9/2015 - 10.18..."  as a backup. Uninstall the Intel display driver and install the ones from Intel to see if it fixes your issue.  Regards

I have a HP 6730b that I keep getting the message (after the screen goes black for a few seconds) that "Display Driver Intel Graphics Acceleraor Device for Windows Vista stopped responding and has successfully recovered".  I bought the same computer for my niece, and she has the same problem. When I checked the HP site for this model computer, I can find no drifver mentioned with this name. Also, the fact that it says Windows Vista is odd as both computers run on Windows 7 professional.  Do I dare download the HP Intel HD Graphics with Turbo Boost Technology (International) driver that appears on the HP list for this computer and install it or will that just make matters worse? Both computers are rebuilt by Metro Business Systems. I have called them for advice, but have not yet heard back. Any ideas you have would be appreciated.

Here is the HP driver page for Windows 7 - 64 bit for your machine.  You should be fine downloading the Intel HD Graphics with Turbo Boost Technology (International) driver.  Normally if they are not the correct drivers they will not install.  If there is one thing I really like about HP is that they make it easy to get drivers for their equipment.

I've had this All-in-One for about a month. Every day, several times a day, the Intel HD Graphics Driver fails. The message says it recovered, but I have to close and re-open any program I was using because it doesn't come back right. As I write this, I fear it is going to happen again! I've checked for newer drivers and have found none. I've uninstalled and re-installed the driver as per instructions.This is annoying the heck out of me for a brand new system to be doing this and disrupting and even losing my work because I have to close a program to get the whole window to display. It doesn't work to just minimize a window either. All there is when it comes back are blocks of white and black where toolbars and work areas should be. I bought this at a local electronics retailer. Should I take it back or is there something that I haven't yet thought to do that will fix it? Sharonin Illinois

Hi Sharon, I feel for you but you can try this, I believe this will fix your problem. Based on my experience, this issue is usually happening on the driver version : 10.18.15.4248. Since you have already unisntalled and re-installed display driver and it didn't fix it, I do recommend for you to try using this version : 15.40.14.4352. What I've encountered is if you were to install a driver from Intel website, you'll be getting the message "The driver you install is not validated on this computer", therefore you won't be able to install this driver, unless you uninstall everything and start once you only have Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. You can try the below step instead. It will be a lot faster. Please follow these steps.? Download the driver here. Download the zipfile then decompress/extract it.? Open the extracted folder, then go to Graphics folder. It may say something like this (C:\Users\SuperUser\Downloads\win64_154012.zip\Graphics), then copy the path.? Go to device manager, right click on Intel HD Graphics 530, then select Update Driver.? Select let me pick, then go to Browse my computer for driver software.? Once you're there select have disk, then paste the path, then hit next.? It will install the Intel HD Graphics 530, without the use of the wizard.? Restart the computer.? Check back on device manager, you should have the updated driver that ends with 4352.   Let me know if issue persists.

Code 43 is usually a driver issue.
I had that driver, and the Win 10 Fall update and was working OK, but just recently (Wednesday) ran the Intel updater and got a later driver version.  22.20.16.4815
uninstall the current Intel driver, restart the PC and when Windows starts it "should" detect and install the driver.  If that doesn't work reinstall the Intel Motherboard Chipset Drivers (Intel Chipset Device Software as listed on Dell downloads) and then run the Intel updater again.

My display driver "Intel HD Graphics 5500" has basically stopped working. When it is enabled, it makes the screen go crazy (hard to describe), and it is usable but just barely. I can disable the driver and the issue stops. So far, the only problem I've noticed with the driver disabled is that I cannot adjust the brightness, but there are probably more issues that I don't know about yet. My computer is completely up to date, with both Windows and Lenovo updates. I have deleted and reinstalled the driver multiple times (including old versions) but every time the same issue reappears. I have no idea what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I can give more information about my system/drivers if needed.

Everytime I use explorer on my Toshiba Satellite laptop, my screen turns black and then displays the the intel graphics accelerator drivers has stopped responding and has recovered. you could try & reinstall the driver in ''safe mode'' the original install may be corrupted somehow....

how hot is your laptop..?? heat could be causing the GFX unit to fail & recover....

Hi everyone. I have an Ideapad Y460 running Win7 x64 SP1, with switchable graphics - Intel HD / Mobility Radeon 5650. When I tried to update my Intel hd graphics driver through Device Manager (Display adapters, right-clicked Intel HD Graphics, Driver tab, "update driver", "search automatically for updated driver software"), Device Manager for some reason changed "Intel HD graphics" to "Standard VGA graphics adapter" and resolution became 800x600. I rebooted, but after that, I couldn't roll back the driver (button was greyed out in Device Manager). I first tried the HD graphics driver from Intel's website for my processor (i5 430 M) but that had a driver signing issue. After disabling the driver signing enforcement, it led to the no-display issue, details in the next paragraph. I subsequently tried to install the Intel HD Graphics driver from the Lenovo support site (IN2VDO26WW6.exe), but after rebooting, there is no display after the "Starting Windows" screen. The sound at the login screen plays, and I can enter my password and have it log in (based on sound cues), and apparently everything loads fine (can shutdown using Run command), just that there is no display. I have tried setting my laptop's date to near the driver's date, to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. (Yes I did a very stupid thing that caused this whole mess. :C  T_T  )

I keep receiving this error message. My screen turns black, that message pops up, then everything is fine again... except my adobe programs. When I have them open, and this happens it freezes them and I have to force the program to close and re-open.
 
This cannot be good for my computer.... any thoughts? I would truly appreciate any help or ideas on resolving this display driver issue.

It would be great if HP included some instructions in their update section to walk us through, step by step, how to install a new driver when the previous one must first be uninstalled. Most updates are just click and download. Nothing else required.  But some of us aren't all that comfortable uninstalling drivers and don't know where to begin.

Hello Lenovo, I work daily on my Lenovo Thinkpad T570 and I am very satisfied with the machine.However, there is quite an irritating problem with the laptop.The fact is, that my laptop runs Windows 10 October build 1809 and runs the newest driver from Lenovo for the Intel GPU.That is version: 24.20.100.6344.This driver version causes a lot of screen flickering on a screen connected through the HDMI port.Intel has released a new driver. Version: 25.20.100.6444.To solve the problem, Lenovo has to push this new driver. Do others also experience this problem with this driver that is known to be faulty with the October update?

That was the msg I had after a few secs blackout today while I was working on my laptop. I had turned on the lappy just 10-20 mins before this blackout happened. I could see the mouse in the blackout though or at least I felt like that, is there something I can do avoid this from repeating & is it possible to find the cause of this issue as well ?

Hello,  I have an Ideapag y700 (I7-6700HQ; 16GB; NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 960M 4gb).  i got the laptop in january and for about 2 weeks 3D games worked well (tried with Dragon Age Inquisition and Football Manager 2017).  Then ... everything went wrong... And I could not get the games to open (I got various errors - Blue Screens).  I did however see that the problem is form the Intel graphics (it will not update - it remains with version 20.19.15.4474, even though on the Intel website there are a couple of updates available). I tried some updates but the computer keeps crashing.  Anyone has any clues as to what I can do ?  I'm attaching a dump file from FM 2017 game ...

As I understand that you are facing issue after installing Intel Display driver from Lenovo 
If that's the case why not give it a try to update it from Intel one from here. And try to update it from Device Manager manually from zip file.

I have updated my windows 8.1 to Windows 10 . But my intel HD graphics driver/Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is missing in the DeviceManager. How can I enable again the driver for using 3 displays(2 external monitors)?I have search for BIOS but the BIOS seems like doesn't have the option to choose Nvidia Optimus for switchable Display adapter. here is my Computer Specs and the Device Manager.I have tried to downlaod the Intel VGA driver from Lenovo IdeaPad Y400 page. I get this error over 10 times a day: display driver stopped responding and has recovered.  Display driver Intel HD Graphics Drivers for windows 8® stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
 
Usually this happens when using firefox and gives me a black firefox window.  Usually I can hit F11 to go full screen and back to restore everything to functioning.  However sometimes firefox locks up, and other times, without any error at all, my mouse gets slow and then the whole computer locks up requiring a hard reset.
 
Windows Home 10, x64. 
Acer Aspire VN7-791G
Bios v1.11
Core i7-4720HQ
8 GB Ram
Intel HD Graphics 4600
also Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M (but I don't think it is ever active)
 
My laptop is an I updated to windows 10 immediately when purchasing this laptop. 
 
Apparently Acer has a "special" intel graphics driver, when I tried to update to the newest generic Intel driver I got the message that I have to use the driver Acer customized for my laptop, I can't use the OEM. 
 
I would be grateful for any knowledgeable advice.

Hi...I'm running Win7 Home Premium (64-bit), 8Gb RAM, with the chip:
Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology

Graphics is not dedicated and is handled via this Intel chip.
During Windows Updates, MS ones download perfectly.

However, I also get an additional 'optional' update named: 'Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics'

This has never succeeded in downloading.
The MS explanation is always the same: possible interruption from my connection to their server...yet never any interruption when I download MS updates at exactly the same time!

After that, I get the usual 'download Mr Fix It' software which proves itself to be utterly useless in helping me find why the download is not succeeding.

I run Avast anti-virus and Zone Alarm firewall...but I can't figure out if they are somehow preventing the download.

I'd appreciate any help on this....

this week I deleted the graphics from display adapter (For unclear reasons)
Now I do not know what to do to restore the intel graphics.
I tried to download drivers from the intel site And I installed them I got an error I tried to download the Intel Driver Update Utility and fail.

In Lenovo updates, says there's an update for Intel GTX graphics driver; does not update.  I have driver 20.19.55.4474 but Intel has a more recent version, but all I get is an error message to contact my manufacturer, but my warranty has expired.  Tried using device manager and telling it to update from Intel driver that I downloaded from their site but will not do it.  Any ideas?

So I have been having issues with my Intel HD Graphics Driver constantly crashing on my computer. Whenever it crashes it says that it is the Windows 8 driver. My computer runs Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600. Because of this, I want to replace it with the new Intel HD Graphics 15.40.18.4380 from Intel. The problem is that my system won't recognize it. What do I do?

Go to Intel | Data Center Solutions, IOT, and PC Innovation Click on Support/Download Drivers and finally automatically find drivers. This will require installing a small Intel update utility. Run that and it will list any applicable Intel drivers for your PC.

That is what I do for the Intel CPU/Video drivers for my i7 3770 CPU.

I keep getting the VDR TDR Failure (igdkmd64.sys) error.  I open up the Intel Driver Update Utility & it states that it cannot update the driver.Error:  A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer.  The Intel Driver Update Utlity is not able to update the driver.  Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues.  Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer. I have  version 15.40.25.4463 of Intel Graphics Driver for Windows 10. How am I to update this driver?  This is extremely frustrating.  Why would you make a product that is difficult to update? JPaw

HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Any reply from a HP employee represents their own opinion and not that of HP's. It appears you have the latest production release of the Intel Graphics Driver for Windows 10. The only other driver listed on Intel's support website is 14.40.26.4474 which is a BETA version. This BETA driver doesn't appear to address the issue you are having. HP hasn't made it difficult to update the driver. The Intel driver installer is what is telling you it can't install the driver. I'm running a dell inspiron 1545 (vista 32).

When trying to open the intel graphics driver properties it won't open (no error message)
When I try to change the display settings I get the error message "the currently selected graphics driver can not be used (written for a older version of windows)
When I run dixdiag I get the error that direct input isn't responding.
I tried to download drivers from intel but I got the error message that my machine doesen't meet the system requirements (I'm not entirly sure I picked the right software)

All the drivers from the dell site appear to do nothing and I've updated from direct 9 to 11.

Still no fix

If anyone can help me fix it give me your email and I'll gift you a itunes voucher or something, this problem is causing huge problems for me.

Recently I've been using Intel Driver update utility to keep my drivers in check with what's up to date, but for a while now I've noticed I can't get this spicific one.  It's been bugging me for a while and I'd like to get it updated so this notification will go away.  Where might I go about getting said driver?  I've already looked in the drivers area of the XC603G on the main site.  You're my last hope, Fourms.

To install Intel generci VGA drivers, you need to uninstall first the Acer/Intel drivers or you will be not able to do it.but...if you are under windows 10, keep in mind that it will try to re-install the Acer/Intel drivers over the generic drivers.

Hi,
I have a Dell XPS L502x, which I bought late 2012. Recently the hard drive became corrupt so I've replaced it and installed Windows 7 on the new hard drive. I've just downloaded and ran the software to detect which drivers I need to install and have downloaded and installed all of them with the exception of the nvidia graphics driver which says I need to install an Intel driver first. I've searched the Dell site but I can't find the Intel driver I need.
Please can you point me to the Intel driver that I need to install?

Hello all, I have recently done a completely clean install of Windows 10 on my Y40-70. I am experiencing two graphics related issues: 1. The latest Intel HD Graphics Driver update breaks the display. When either updated by Windows Update, or myself from Lenovo's website (link), the update causes the screen to immediately go blank and stay that way until I go into safe mode, and disable the driver in Windows Device Manager. 2. I am unable to use the AMD graphics card (Radeon R9 M275). Currently Device Manager tells me that the driver for the device is up to date (15.200.1050.0) but Catalyst Control Manager cannot see the card, and nothing I can do will make the machine switch to that card. I have tried multiple times cleanly uninstalling all AMD everything, and reinstalling from both Lenovo's site and AMD's, to no avail. I imagine that these problems are related, but I'm not sure how. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi all, Bought a new Aspire F5-571 two months ago with Windows 10 preinstalled. Recently, I've started getting the error message in the subject line of this post. Doing some research reveals that it could be a problem with the display drivers. I've checked Acer's website for my model and the only graphics drivers available are Intel's VGA drivers. Intel's web site reveals that the drivers for Intel HD Graphics 5500 are OEM drivers and are shipped by the manufacturer - obviously in this case Acer. Anyone any idea if there are updated drivers anywhere on Acer's website ? Regards, gneil15

Hi all, Just recently got my hands on a shiny new W541 and it's hooked up to my Apple Thunderbolt Display using the Thunderbolt port. While this works, the fans are really loud when i.e. opening programs, new tabs in browser etc. I figured that it's because it uses the built-in Intel graphics GPU. Is there any way to "tell" it to use the Nvidia GPU for the thunderbolt port instead of the built-in one? :-) Thanks in advance. All the best, Bo

Take it up with Lenovo, or buy a dock (apparently that's the solution Lenovo had in mind)!!!
 
In theory, if the BIOS of the W540 behaved like the BIOS of the W530, then it should allow you to choose whether you want to use built-in Intel HD Graphics exclusively (W530 "integrated") or nVidia Graphics (W530 "discrete graphics"), or some dynamic performance-dependent combination (i.e. W530 "Optimus Mode").  This should be true (and IS true for the W530) no matter whether you're talking about the laptop screen, external monitors connected directly to ports on the W530 laptop, or whether you use external monitors connected through a dock.
 
The only "wrinkle" for the W530 is that if you have Optimus specified on the W530 then all external monitors are always 100% managed by the nVidia graphics (no matter whether connected directly to the laptop or connected through a dock). So with the W530 in Optimus mode it is actually only the laptop screen which can be controlled by either Intel or nVidia graphics.  For most uses it will be the Intel graphics that controls the laptop screen, unless program graphics performance requirements (as determined by the firmware) find that nVidia is required.  Additionally, you can use nVidia Control panel to theoretically "force" nVidia graphics for specific program windows, but in my experience that doesn't seem to work consistently.
