I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: The YOGA S730 heats up

Hi Stohenry! Welcome to our forums community. Is it still overheating when it is on idle? Could you try updating the BIOS firmware here: https://support.lenovo.com/ provide the model or serial number and go to Drivers and Software tab. Look for BIOS/EUFI and install it. Restart the computer and check if the issue persist. Update us with the result.

Today I got the S730-13IWL delivered and noticed a tiny dent(see image, above the f6 key) while setting up windows, after completing the installation I went on and test the laptop, however I noticed that the fans got really loud sometimes while nothing was running and the computer gets extremely hot while watching a video on youtube. I went to update the bios and use lenovos vantage tool as well updated  the drivers but the problem still exists. What can I do about the tiny dent and the overheating problem?

A:YOGA S730 small dent on delivery and heats up

Welcome to the forums.  If you have a dent and you are unhappy I would ask for an exchange immediately.  As time passes you can't get an exchange plus you might be considered CID(Customer Induced Damage).  With that being said it seems so small I would keep it.  BUT you are not me and its your money you are spending and ultimately you are the one that needs to be happy.  All I'm saying is if you want to exchange do it right away while you still can.

If you formatted the hard drive, you most likely wiped out the recovery partition, so that's not an option. Did you format MBR or GPT?

I have a problem with my Yoga s730. At least once to a few times per day, the screen will flash black for 2-4 seconds and when it comes back, it will close Plex media player and sometimes the Youtube tab if it's open. If the screen is dimmed due to nightlight settings, it will also override that and turn the nightlight off. What could the problem be? I've tried updating all drivers and BIOS. TIA.

Hi!Just bought a new Yoga S730-13IWL (81J0002VMX). After setting it up I also updated Windows 10 to version 1903. Hi all, I bought a Yoga S730 lately and it's been doing good. However, I found that when I unplug it, the wifi is not stable. It will stay connected to my wifi but there isn't Internet until I restart the wifi adapter. But it will happen again after less than 30 mins. If I plugged in, the issue didn't occur so far. I have been researching about that issue and some suggest that I should change the Power Management to uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and also the Wireless Adapter Settings in Power Options to Maximum Performance. But that doesn't help. Is it just me or does anyone has the same issue? Thank you!

I am sick and tired of this slow ass laptop I bought. It was supposed to be top notch with TB3. Using it on a TB3 dockingstation should be like a silky dream. After months and a lot of hours with updates, recoveries, re-installs, tips and tricks I now suspect I dont really have a computer with Thunderbolt port hardware or software or both. And that it never will work as the advert and specs say. In BIOS config: No TB/TB3. In Device Manager : No TB/TB3Docking and filetransfer via all USB-C ports is not close to TB3 speed. For a Thunderbolt port to work the computer would need a suitable Intel Thunderbolt port chip, the right BIOS and the right drivers. Can you Lenovo Professionals in here plese give me the port chip details, the bios details and the driver details for the claimed Thunderbolt ports? Lenovo Vantage say that all is good, but its not. While you're at it; Can you please let me know the proceedure for turning the computer back to Lenovo with cash in return, for promoting a product to be somthing its not?

When it restarts, I only see the windows boot manager screen and I have to restart manually.  In addition, I also have recurring wifi losses, the laptop loses the connection and displays the network as "connected, no internet", I am forced to switch to airplane mode or disconnect manually before reconnect to find the wifi.  Hope you can help me because the computer is very unstable in the state.  Thank you, and sorry if my english is bad but I'm french ..!

My PC really heats up in about 30-50min.
I have no idea why , all the fans are working and im not running anything that's way out of my specs.
i downloaded a fan control program and i can see that the 2 CPU cores are the ones that heat up the most.
the GPU , System , MB parts are at 30-45 * C but the 2 CPU cores are at 50-70 * C after about 40 min.
I thought it was wool clogging up my fans and suffocating my PC so i cleaned it up a little , it still heats up.
The only way i can stop it from overheating is if i use my old room fan and strap it to the side of the PC but that wastes too much electricity

It never used to overheat when i first got it, I could run lots of programs and it would be fine. Now it overheats with more than a couple programs running and shuts down. I dont think its the fan because I have checked it and its running okay. I have a little temp monitor and my comp CPU temp will get up to like 76 and it will shutdown. Ty for looking. My computer is ok when i am doing simple things like word processing or browsing the internet, but as soon as i play my game, age of empires 3, it instantley begin to heat up very severely, it didnt occur until a little while back when i got my new graphics card, even though my new graphic card has a fan on it and i have 2 more one on side of computer(taking air in) and one on the back(pushing air out). I also have one on my processor, but i cant understand why my computer heats up so much now, the top of my case becomes extremely hot, my game and computer completely froze today. Any recommendations on what wud be the best fan to get for my computer will be helpful. Thanks

A:My computer over heats!

Maintainance:
- Open up your pc, and use a compressed air source or vaccum to clean out all of the dust, especialy on the heatsinks and the dust filters. Make sure you hold on to the fans so to aviod it spinning rapidly while you are cleaning it.
-Tie up all the cables and neat them up to maximise airflow
-Download Speedfan or Everest Home, and check your idle temps (while you are not doing anything) then play an intensive game for a few minutes and check it again. Post up what results you have.

This should be a regular maintanance routine to help keep temps down.. if its still hot, then locate which part is running hot, and investigate to see if you can add a fan or cooling option nearby, or upgrade the heatsink/fan on it.

Hey guys.

This is my second time with this issue and I'd like some help with it. Been looking online and I can't find anything.

Basically, I'm using my computer:

Windows 7 Home Edition x64 bit
i7-860 quad core 2.8Ghz
6gb ram
Nvidia Gts 240 (soon to be replaced)

And at seemingly random times, the taskbar along the bottom of the page which is normally transparents turns a sort of bright blue/white colour along with the tab bar at the top of whatever I'm using at the time, usually an internet browser. When this happens I can then hear the fans inside my machine spinning up, I open up RealTemp and the temperature shoots up. The first time it did it It went from around 20 to I think 100 because RealTemp marked one of my cores as "logged" today when it did it the max it got to was about 60. But I wasn't doing anything such as playing a game, I had Skype, Opera and maybe Steam open all at the same time and it got to about 60 degrees in a matter of seconds, then after staying there for about half a minute came back down to around 20.

Any ideas?

I thought it might of been the heat sink, but it seems to be securely fasted. I bought some quality thermal paste and I plan to remove the paste that is currently on my CPU and replace it with this. Is there anything else anyone could reccomend?

A:Changes colour, then heats up.

I have an ACER 5315 Laptop computer. It is a Windows XP O/S. 120 GB HDD. 1GB DDR2. This computer also had Windows Vista running on it as well and I have had Vista removed. With living and working in China there seems to be a huge language barrier in solving computer problems. My computer will heat up and shut down. I can wait a short time and it will turn back on. They (Chinese computer techs) have told me it "could be" the fan module. (In broken English) I clean the dust out of it regularly and I also have a fan plate under it with three fans going and it still heats up and shuts down. My question is, can I set my computer's fan to run continuously? They have told me top fix it I have to mail my computer to Shanghai and they need it for 2 weeks. . I would prefer not to as I need it each week. Could this heating problem be the result of having Vista removed?

A:Computer heats up and shuts down

First move would be a more through cleaning, because if the fan starts at all, I doubt it's the fan itself or it's control.

If the Vista version had some custom fan control as part of the package, that could affect the cooling. With a fan in the vents, it's hard to believe that it's not staying cool enough to function, that's why I mention more cleaning.

My computer's fairly old now, and pretty pathetic for a modern day gaming computer. I've had many issues before, but they were always able to be fixed -- or at the very least understood. One thing I've noticed recently is that my computer tends to heat up far too hot whenever I leave it running idle for about 5 minutes -- even when watching videos (http://I.imgur.com/WsqU0yJ.png Blue is GPU temperature, Green is CPU. It can, and will, get up to 80 degrees) and just goes back down as soon as I reactivate my computer.

The only thing I can think to link it to is my recently running its fans at maximum speed all the time so I don't forget to manually set it through speedfan and accidentally let my computer burst into flames by limiting its fan use to 40% while I play games. I'll admit I don't know *much* about computers in general, so my question is: Would having my computer run this low in temperature (normally 28 in the morning, around 35-50 in evening depending on heat that day, and usage) mess with something? Or is it just about time to reapply some thermal paste, upgrade my computer or simply be more vigilant in setting my fan speeds?

I'm currently running an old AMD Athlon ii quad core processor.

How old is the laptop? It seems that something isn't cooling properly. If you have any pets it might be that one of the intake fans took in too much hair / dander and is not working right, or a fan could just be broken all together. Is it possible to remove the keyboard or a panel on the backside of the laptop in order get a closer look and see what is overheating specifically? It sounds like your graphics card is over heating which is causing the performance drop.

Hi I am new here,

My Specs are :

Windows 10 64bit
Asus H170 Pro Gaming Motherbaord
16gb DD4 Kingston Hyperfury Ram 2666mhz
Core i7 6700 3.4ghz - 4ghz Turbo
Corsair RM850i Modular PSU
240Gb Samsung 850 EVO SSD
Coolermaster Hyper 212X CPU Cooler
Western Digital 1TB
Stryx GTX 950 Graphics card
Thermaltake V71 Case ( huge ) with plenty fans

I believe my rig to be powerful enough to play the latest games. and the fans on the GTX 950 do not come on
until it reaches a certain temp. Not sure what, but they do work.

And I play Assassins creed Syndicate, COD Black Ops 3, and I play Crysis 3 in Nvidia 3D Vision and Star Wars Battlefront.

Whatever game I play whether in 3D or NOT my Graphics card will Heat up to 99 and 100 Degrees Celsius.

Is this faulty or normal?

I even use MSI Afterburner to turn fans up to 100% when playing and it will still heat up that much and its brand new
and like my PSU the fans only work when it reaches a certain temp and I have tried both methods of Auto and Manual with the same result with 99-100 degrees Celsius!

Is that normal? Or is my Card Faulty?

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance as this is my first post here

Please Help

Welcome to Ten-Forums ! Nice system by the way. No, this does not seem normal and fans should come on at around 50c. Maybe card is faulty or fans do not work. Is card close to any other hardware restricting airflow. My GTX 970 using benchmark software only reached 75c.
