Solved: Breaking one album into individual songs/files

Q: Solved: Breaking one album into individual songs/files

I have an old album that I copied from my original cassette tape. The tape was showing signs of wear. The software that I used at the time copied the entire album into one long file. Is there any software that will recopy this and break the album up into the individual songs on the album. The album is an old Golden Earring album. Am I going to have to use NERO 8 and copy the entire album one song at a time to a new folder?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey guys, so I was wondering what your opinion is on the best way of downloading individual songs?

I use torrents to pretty much download everything including albums and what not.

But sometimes it's just one song I want.

Usually I use youtube to find the song, then rip the mp3 from the video using a website.

But I'm getting kinda tired of that way.

I was wondering if there's any other alternatives besides limewire?

Thanks

A:Best way to download individual songs

Hmm...try an mp3 aggregator like Beemp3 or AirMP3.

WMP (and subsequently WMC) are not recognizing individual songs that are in my Music folder. When I open "Music" they are in the folder but when I go to Library in WMP and try to reset folders to monitor etc. the individual songs don't show, only albums. Why would this be? I have created playlists with these songs and they played fine; I just can't seem to get them recognized in WMP automatically.

A:wmp & wmc not picking up individual songs

Hello Hupp and welcome to the Vista Forums.

Did you try to add the songs manually. Also check the box "Add Media Files To Library When Played" in the WMP options under the Player tab.

Also click in the Options under the Library tab, the Monitor Folders tab and check My Personal Folders option, then click Advanced Options in the same Add To Library window, which folders the WMP has to monitor and add the content to the library.

Hope it helps. Cheers...

anyone know a program that will take a MP3, and break them up into different songs?

for example, i have quite a few "songs", or MP3s, that are like 62 minutes long or longer ..... (trance music) ..... i would like to break up the song into several songs and MP3's, so that i dont have to get to some parts of the song by fast fowarding through the whole song in my CD player ..... rather just skip through the tracks ....

anyone know a program that does this? dont care if i have to pay it

Hello all. I am the proud owner of a new MP3 player, and am trying to understand how everything works.

I'm having trouble with album art. When I look at the albums on the player, each one has the correct album art. However, when playing a specific song, the player does not show the correct album art.

Does anyone know how to edit the image shown for each specific song? Thanks in advance for your help!

Get Mp3tag, a free Mp3 tag editor.

You can check the album art for each track, and fix it if necessary.

hello Ten Forums,
Is there a way to send a picture - dropping into a site or sending in an email without
having the entire album embedded along with a single picture. I have tested by sending to myself. The received email may look like a single pic but one click and the entire album is there. I did not have this problem with any windows version except windows 10.
I have one other problem with windows ten. I am getting a mail sub system in my Microsoft outlook email with emails from and to people I don't know and have not written . What is this?
I cannot reach my host at present to discuss this.
I am considering reverting to windows 7 within a month but am concerned incase I lose important files.
I cannot even save everything on the cloud because the offer for cloud is for windows 8 and it seems I am on wondiws 10.
I dare not cause another problem. Please help with one or more of these issues. Many thanks. Lam

Sure there is, I do individual photos all the time. When you come to select the ones you want to send, make sure you click on the actual photo and not the folder.

With regard to your second problem, have you run an Antivirus scan? Looks like your email may have been compromised.

I recently bought Star Wars the Original Radio Drama on audiobook. I want to copy/rip this into mp3 files so I can listen to them on my phone and/or mp3 player. I have windows 8.1 and using media player to rip them. However, the problem occurs when I insert the second disc and media player starts ripping the cd without changing the names of the tracks. I didn't notice this until I was on the third disc. Now I have multiple versions with the same title and haven't been able to tell them apart other than deleting them.

I'd like to do this with each disc its own titles, etc. I don't want to do this via iTunes, which every online website gives as the way to do this. I also don't want them in one large file. I'd like to find a stopping point now and then. Any help, including ink to different programs that will work, would be helpful.

Where can I get specific individual .dll files? How difficult is it to update a .dll file?

I have been downloading and running various .dll repair programs that claim to fix everything. Unfortunately, none of these programs have fixed or replaced the .dll files my System File Checker lists as corrupted and not reprojectable.

I am looking fo these specific files used by Windows Defender in Windows 7:

MpEvMsg.dll.mui
MsMpRes.dll.mui
MpAsDesc.dll.mui

I have never manually installed a .dll file, but I learn quickly and know how to follow directions. Can someone point me to a "how-to" instruction list for replacing corrupted .dll files? Is it a relatively simple task once I have good .dll files? I would rather not have to pay $200 to someone like the Best Buy Geek Squad just to make what hopefully are minor system changes. Any advice is appreciated.

A:Where can I get specific individual .dll files?

You can extract them from the win 7 install media,

Extract Files from Windows 7 Installation DVD

If you don't have one you can download one here,

Windows 7 Direct Download Links, Official Disk Images from Digital River

I just used 7-Zip and found those files in the install.wim, you have to grab the right folder once inside but it's all explained in the tutorial.

Libraries are virtual folders not virtual files so to answer your question, no. Instead maybe use a symbolic link (made with mklink with the command line) and link the file in a certain folder. Or just put it in a folder already set to the library.

However, little mischievous people may go into this if I am not on my computer and be a pain. Therefore, I want a way of protecting it from opening up in it's main application.

I don't really need it to be sophisticated, it is not to prevent hackers etc, it is merely to stop people having instant access to it from my desktop.

I doubt there is any built-in feature of windows, therefore what third-party applications can do this?

A:Password protect individual files

just create your own account and keep them in your documents folder. nobody will have access as long as they do not have admin privileges. or keep them on a flash drive. I would strongly urge you not to password protect individual files because you could forget the password and lose access to the files. this forum is full of locked threads because of users wanting help with forgotten passwords when they were trying to protect files.

I have played around with the backup functionality; I know how to backup a system image. What I cannot figure out is how to backup individual files; when I configure the backup and drilling down into the folders, the individual files are not shown.

In XP, I backup my Outlook .pst every day (I work from home so this is important). I had a NTBACKUP job set that would backup only the .pst file every day...no problem to set up.

When trying to configure W7 backup I can drill down to C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook but the only thing that's shown in the Outlook checkbox window is "Accounts."

The .pst is not in Accounts, it's in the root of the Outlook folder.

How can I configure the backup utility to be more granular? Thanks for the help.

Some blogs recommended using certain free (or so they said were free but were not) downloads of spyware removers. +backups for my primary hd
+tv shows
+movies
+program installers
+personal movie collection used for editting
I have found that certain files cause windows explorer to crash - be they movies, tv shows, installer files, files on backup, etc. - when highlighted and cause Dr. Watson to go bonkers. There seems to be no connection: files with similar sources, extensions, sizes, use dates, names, pathnames, etc. seem to work fine. In all there are just over 20,000 files, of which maybe 30 cause this problem. It is possible in transfers they were just simply improperly transferred (causing pieces of the file to be lost forever), but there is a file I KNOW that happened to and Dr. Watson never went bonkers and Explorer never crashed when I selected it; it was an .avi of "Beetlejuice" whose transfer was terminated before completion, and all it does when selected is simply not play in WMP. Any ideas?

Save the file as .ico

You can now right click your file, go to 'Properties'. Under the 'shortcut' tab click 'Change Icon'. Browse to your newly created .ico file and select it.

A:CD shows data, but not individual picture files

Welcome to the TSG forum.

Photographers own the rights to print the pictures .. And usually don't give you the readable Images that the camera took.
They probably have proprietary software to read the pictures ..
The discs you can't read are probably what you'd take to get them printed.
The images you can see .. Are low resolution copies that probably won't make good prints ..For previews only.

They don't want you to print them yourself or have anyone else do it ..They want to charge you.
What's the extension (file type) of the data files in the Disc that you can't view ???

Is there a faster way to password-protect folders than the ones I already know, such as AxCrypt or putting in a zip with 7Zip? I have a lot of huge files and it would take too long.

I do NOT need powerful encryption for these particular files. No hacker is ever going to get them; it's only to keep out my roommates who use my account on my computer. For various reasons setting up separate accounts is not an option.

I"m wondering if there's some way that's not as secure as AxCrypt because that's overkill for me but would still add a password and do it quicker.

A:Faster way to password-protect individual files/folders

I have installed software that can encrypt/ decrypt individual files/ folders or multiple files/ folders. It's pretty easy to use via drag/ drop folders/ files that you want to encrypt (accepts multiples) or select via right click context menu.

Right click a file/ folder to encrypt/ decryptDrag 'n' Drop multiples to encrypt/ decryptEncryted files have .pcr extensionIf you use the main program window to decrypt files or multiple files it totally and permanently removes encryption and restores the default file extension.

If you decrypt via click and open - you are asked for a password to open the file and it remains encrypted when you close the file.

A:How do I delete individual files created by system protection?

Hello Bhootnat, and welcome to Seven Forums.

A restore point is different than a backup. You will not be able to delete a specific file included in a restore point. Any attempt to mess with a restore point like that would most likely end with the restore point no longer able to be selected to be used when doing a system restore.

Instead, you could only delete specific restore points if you like.

My question is similar. I'm new to Win7-64. I want to back up the entire system but will System Image Restore allow me to identify and restore individual files? Win7's normal back up function does that, but it doesn't save the OS and programs.

Thanks

A:System Image Recovery allow me to identify & restore individual files?

Hello Mark, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Sorry, but when doing a System Image Recovery, you will not be able to pick and choose individual files and folders. It's an all or none deal.

However, you could use the tutorial below to manaully extract individual files and folders from within the system image if you like.System Image - Extract Files Using Disk Management
Hope this helps,
Shawn

My bookmarks are a huge mess. When I used IE, I would go to the folder on the drive to organize them. Now that I use Firefox, I can't do that. I would like to find a program that gives me ease of organizing and will export the bookmarks as individual files, instead of one.

I'm interested in this: http://bkm.sourceforge.net/en/vbbkm.html but it's old and dead I think. Also I don't think it worked with Firefox.

I'm not interested in online managers and I don't have a real need for portability. I just want to sort and burn the folder.

Thanks.

I have made some mistakes when pasting my album covers in iTunes. How do you remove them in the files. I have tried creating new copies with all properties removed but it still leaves the album art.

Hi,

yesterday I was browsing Orkut and clicked on a link that says:

In Portuguese: "Meu album completo est? nesse site: <http://www.freewebtown.com/fotos_orkut">
In English: "My complete album is on this site: <http://www.freewebtown.com/fotos_orkut">

An empty browser window appeared, and I realized I did something stupid.

Since then, my browser shows an error every 10 seconds, saying it's trying to connect to something. I managed to stop it by changing my Orkut password. But I can't acess some sites and browsing is extremely slow.

Can someone help me? Here's DDS log. Thanks a lot!!!

Hi,

I've had this problem for a while now. Windows or some other program on my computer automatically creates hidden files containing album art or song art in my music folders such as "Folder.jpg" or "AlbumArtSmall.jpg". I'm looking for a way to make this random generating stop because it's messing up my music library in Zune. I use MP3Tag and iTunes to apply song art manually to my songs, but the picture files that appear in the folders replace the song art that I added myself and it messes everything up.
In attempt to fix the issue I disabled all of the automatic album art downloading in "Tools > Options > Library" in Windows Media Player (just in case it was causing the problem) but still nothing. I tried deleting these files but they just come back again after a while. Any suggestions?

A:How to stop Windows from generating random album art files

Hi there and welcome to Eight Forums,

If I understand you correctly you don't want the music art to be automatically downloaded. I've checked Windows Media Player and it seems that you have to disable multiple options!

Here is a list of the options you will want to disable in order to achieve your goal. I translated it from Dutch, so in English it may have a slightly different name.

All these options are under "Tools ==> Options". Below I'm directly reffering to the tabs there.

Media Library ==> disable the setting "download additional info from the i-net";Privacy ==> disable the first two items from the first set of tickboxes. "Show the media items" and "Download the media items";
This should do it. Please try it and let me know it the problem is solved or not.

Greetz,

Rover
ps. If you don't use Windows Media Player and are never going to use it, you can always disable/uninstall Windows Media Player. Search for "add/ remove windows features" or something like that in Start to change these settings.

Recently I am experiencing a strange issue... I consulted some of my IT trained friends and they were looking at me like "what?"

When I'm copying songs from my laptop to my mp3 player, it happens that some of the songs get mixed up. Literally mixed into each other. Like, you start playing a ballad and then the last 10-15 seconds belong to a completely different song (say, a rock song) that you haven't even copied into to your mp3 player! Like, I was listening to Cascada Because the night and suddenly the few seconds of a Muse song NOT physically present on my mp3 player started to play - and the Cascada song credits were running on the display screen. I was like, holy sheesh?? Did my computer just turn into a random DJ?

This happened a couple of times to other songs too. I copied the file back from the mp3 player to the hard drive of my laptop and played it: same result! The change seems to be permanent.

Anyone knows what this is?

Thanks :)

A:Computer mixes mp3 songs into each other when copying multiple files

hello,

I would lean towards the mp3 player, maybe check to see if theres a firmware update..

do you still have the original files on your laptop? are they ok? whats the make and model of mp3 player? (if you don't mind)

How do I add songs to the songs on my Ipod when I'm using a new itunes library?
I have a lot of songs on my ipod but the itunes library they are on is from my old computer which I can't retrieve and put on my new computer. So I have to use a new itunes library. The problem is that I can't add new songs to my old songs on my ipod because I'm using a new itunes library. The only way to add new songs is to erase all the songs on my ipod that were from my old itunes library on my old computer. How do I keep my old songs and add new songs to my ipod without erasing the old songs on my ipod that are from an itunes library on my old computer which I can't retrieve?

Hello all,
I am fairly new to macros and am looking to split a large word document into smaller files based on a text string within the document, and then save those files as individual word documents, or as a bonus, PDF documents. The text string is "HEADER DATA".

Basically, I want the macro to find the text string "HEADER DATA", then select that page and all pages up to but not including the next instance of "HEADER DATA", then cut those pages from the original document, create a new document with the same formatting/ page layout, and save that document with a new file name. I want the process repeated until the end of the document, and each file saved with a new file name.

Some attributes about the file:

The text string "HEADER DATA" is always in the same location on a page, but is not at the top of the page.
The format and layout of the new document must match the current document.

Here is something I came up with (don't laugh too hard, lol). This will extract the first pages as intended, and saves the new file, but then Word stops responding. I don't quite know what the error is. Thank you in advance for any help.
