Satellite Pro M30 Bios error Resource conflict - Edit bios setting or boot

Q: Satellite Pro M30 Bios error Resource conflict - Edit bios setting or boot

My Sat M30 laptop start with an bios error. The error says "Resource conflict, edit bios setting or boot" If select "boot" computer hangs before windows completely starts. I remove the wi-fi and the modem module and the same error appears. I can't upgrade the bios because the windows don't start. The bios version is 1.7. The laptop is UK version. If select "edit bios", bios start but I can't find any resource management.

(sorry for my english, I am from Spain)

Preferred Solution: Satellite Pro M30 Bios error Resource conflict - Edit bios setting or boot

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Satellite Pro M30 Bios error Resource conflict - Edit bios setting or boot

I think the error ?edit bios setting? means that you should access the BIOS and should set the BIOS back to the default settings.

Please do this, save the settings and try to boot up!

Satellite M305-S4910
The system was booting about every 3rd of 5th time. Now all I get on boot is:
Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard

Bus:0A, Device:01, Function:02
Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard
Bus:0A, Device:01, Function:03

I have change every thing I can in the BIOS setup and no luck. I have removed the wireless card from the motherboard and the harddrive, no boot. The BIOS ver is 2.70, I would like to update the BIOS to see if this will fix the problem, but can't get passed the ERROR screen. Can this be fixed?

A:Satellite M305 will not boot - ERROR Resource Conflict

To be honest, it looks for me like an motherboard problem.
The error says something about PCI conflict on motherboard.
I assume this is related to some motherboard components?

You want to update the BIOS?
Hmm? not sure if you could do this? to be honest I don?t think that this problem could be solved by BIOS update because it looks more like an hardware problem.

I needed to boot on an USB and couldn't do it on UEFI mode, so I changed boot mode to CSM Boot and can't now enter to BIOS by holding F2 and pressing power button later.
Even, in CSM
Boot mode can't do anything, it only shows a screen where the following text can be found:

pxe-mof exiting pxe rom
select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key

As nothing works, I thought to reset the BIOS to factory for restoring the UEFI boot mode by removing the CMOS battery for around 30 minutes, but it didn't work, maybe because I can't remove the main battery connector.
I was also looking for the typical jumpers to restore the BIOS but I couldn't find these pins on my model.

Please, I need help for exiting the CSM mode or restore the BIOS, my laptop is now unusable.

Thanks in advance.

Hey All,

I did something foolish - while I was reinstalling Windows XP on my T22 Thinkpad, I noticed my wireless network adapter was still plugged into the PCMCIA port, so I removed it. A few minutes later, I got the blue screen of death with error code 0x0000007F

Edit: the installation was at the part where the computer has restarted and it is in the second portion of the installation. Make sense?

Now, every time I turn on the computer, I get this error:

Resource Conflict - PCI Network Controller
Bus:00, Device:03, Function:00
Resource Conflict - PCI
Bus:00, Device:03, Function:01
Press <F1> to Setup

If I hit Esc, it'll load the setup and start over again, but then blue screen again after about 5 minutes.

I tried reformatting and starting the installation over from the start. That didn't work. I went into the BIOS and set it back to the defaults. That didn't work. I tried booting with the card plugged in. That didn't work. The only thing I can think of is to try booting from an Ubuntu Live cd and see if I can flash the BIOS from there, but I don't know if that'll do it.

Any ideas??

I wondering what Crisis Recovery Disk do you have ?:|
In my experience the special disk is needed which is available only for ASP technician.
Therefore it?s necessary to contact the ASP in your country in order to reflash the BIOS.

In my opinion you shouldn?t not try any ?Crisis Recovery disks? which you fond in the net? this can lead to mobo damage?

I tried to booting the computer and received the Award Boot Block Bios and BIOS checksun error. It detects the cdrom but I don’t have the CD. Where can I get the cd, like where to download it.

HP Media Center
Windows XP SP2
Motherboard: ASUS P5LP-LE (LimeStone)

I don't remember the rest.
I found the site for the motherboard. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...cc=us&product=470506&dlc=en&docname=c00379422

I was having some probelms, which the computer wouldn't start at all and a really loud sound the fan made, so I called my insurance, and they came and change the mother board twice and added a new cooling fan and power supply. All this took two months for waiting for the parts and making an appoinment with the tech.

After replacing the motherboard twice the tech told me I'm gonna order new harddrive, I don't think is the motherboard or the fan. Before leaving he suggested me to call me inusrance and tell them that you want a new computer cause its been more than two months and there has been four calls already. So, I called the insurance and got a new computer and kept the old one.

A week after receiving my new computer I took the old one for repair but at didn't at the end after they told me how much it would cost me to get it fix. I am trying to delete all the files from an old HP (XH545) laptop running XP. Its screen doesn't work, so I have it attached to a remote monitor. I have both a bootable floppy and bootable cd which have [email protected] Kill Disk. My intention is to boot one or the other and erase everything on the hard drive.

Problem: I am unable to get into my BIOS to change the boot order. Since I have to do a Fn-F5 to switch over to the monitor, I am unable to get there in time to see when to hit F2 to edit my BIOS. I have been trying for several hours to "guess" when to hit it, still with no success. I'm not even sure I would be able to see the BIOS screen anyway - maybe you have to get past that for Fn-F5 to swap out to the monitor.

If I let the system boot normally, I can swap over in time to see it loading Windows XP.

Question 1: Is there any way to change the boot order from within Windows (or from DOS prompts)?

Question 2: Lacking a positive answer to #1, is there any other way to delete all the files from the hard drive so I can dispose of the laptop?

It may be obvious to some but I'm confused. To reinstall Windows XP on a Dell Mini 9(Vostro A()-same) it has no internal cd-rom so I bought an external cd-rom. To boot from the external cd-rom to reinstall Windows the relevant BIOS boot choices are 1-USB Storage,2.Removable Devices, and 3.CD/DVD Rom.  Which one is it for external CD-rom??

I guess im posting this in the right area sense this does effect my sound.

"Resource Conflict - PCI in slot 02, Bus:01, Device:09, Function:02"

I've had this problem for over a year now, and this error would most likely pop up when i moved my pc into another room or unplugged my speakers from the soundcard. When this happens my speakers nor my modem works, The speaker on the start bar is gone and all my sound software like riptide and whatever is gone. I was told when i had win98 that upgrading to winxp would fix this..It did, for awhile. Now this problem is back and i cannot get this to work. Its been like this for a week now and before i go buying a new soundcard i wanted to check with you all first.

Ok, My soundcard and modem are both on 1 chip. It's a cheap Conexant Soft56K modem (that came with the computer). I don't really need a modem since i have cable but i would really like my sound back.

When i had win98, i would plug the speakers in and run scandisk and that would help sometimes, so im guessing my modem isn't dead? I also heard that Conextant doesn't make drivers for their stuff' so what should i do? I don't even see my modem in the device manager.

As far as I know the BIOS package downloaded from the Toshiba US driver page contains the WinRAR 32-bit self-extracting ZIP file which includes both Windows-based and diskette based BIOS update installation options.

Did you try to update the BIOS using Win-based BIOS?

What OS do you use?

I am having problems with direct booting into Windows 8 installed into a VHDX file.
This is a four-partition UEFI boot on a GPT drive. EFI files are residing on a second partition of disk 0 (the ESP partition) in the EFI folder. The boot virtual disk is residing on the fourth partition of that disk 0.
When I turn on the PC, it shows black screen after the BIOS POST screen. No Windows 8 boot menu, no other information is displayed. However, if I press Shift+F12 (or F12) to start Dell BIOS Boot Menu and choose Windows Boot Manager from the UEFI part of
the boot menu, Windows 8 starts to boot without difficulties.
How do I make Windows to boot automatically without having to select Windows Boot Manager in DELL BIOS boot menu?
I believe I messed up with boot sector somehow... What needs to be fixed provided that Windows 8 will boot into VHDX file?

Does someonw know which boot key combination is working for the L850-1k0 ?
I flashed a modded bios, that first worked, then changed settings for the graphic card, shut down and now the laptop is with black screen (also at external monitor on VGA or HDMI).

Now I try to reflash the original BIOS (InsydeH20 6.8) with wincrisis ( which should boot from usb, which would be indicated by the flasing light on the usb), but this needs certain key combinations held during powering on, that differ: I tried with the ones I found googling for similar models, Fn + Esc, Fn + Esc, Windows + F, Windows + B, Fn + B - but nothing worked, no activity at the usb.

So does someone know the working combination f?r this model L850-1k0?
I did not find something searching for it online!

Help would be very appreciated!

Hello!I have a Lenovo B590 laptop computer. I wanted to encrypt the disk so noone else can access it if they steal my PC, so I went into the BIOS > Security > Passwords and enabled all of them. I set the same password for all of them as well. After restarting the computer, it asked me for the password. I entered the password, and it accepted it. After this a black screen came up, and nothing has happened. I tried to press several different keys, but none of them did anything. I shat the computer down, and removed the hard disk. With the hard disk being out, I was able to boot to a screen with two tabs: Boot Menu and Application Data. I couldn't choose any option there as I had the hard disk out, but I could press ESC two times to get to the BIOS. I have searched for this problem online, and I came across this forum post. However, after restarting the computer and entering the password, a message saying the configuration has been refreshed has come up. I restarted the computer, and as if I did nothing, this did not resolve my problem. It continued to ask for the password and once entered, not boot. I followed up by disabling the other passwords as well. This did not resolve my problem either. Hi All

I've just got hold of a Toshiba 480CDT Satellite Pro,

I had it working with the original power supply (on a power inverter plugged into my cars 12v as I wasn't near 240v power socket)

It was working fine, it booted into Windows 98 and I was playing with a few programs (media player and defrag)

I had it defragging for about 5 mins while charging via the car inverter, however it froze up and I had to hold the power button to reboot it.

When I tried to switch it back on the screen stays blank, the hard drive doesn't spin and there is only the power LED's and battery charging LED that comes on.

It will let me press the function key that lights up the fn LED on the top of the keyboard but then after a few presses stops lighting.

I've opened the case and found that there is two bios batteries, on a closer look at where they are plugged into the main board there is green type of corosion on pins, I removed the plugs (which might I add where very hard to remove due to the corosion), I've cleaned the plugs (male & female) with a WD40 pen and plugged them back in, I've had a voltage meter on them and they are showing voltage and also show a higher voltage when the laptop power supply is plugged into it, so this indicates that they are charging or at least getting voltage.

After doing this I put the laptop back together, but it's still suffering from the same problem???

Please could anyone help or give me a little advice? my next inspection is th... Read more

Before trying to update the BIOS, all passwords should be removed!
BIOS password can be removed by authorized service provider available in your country.

But the unknown HDD password cannot be removed anymore.
In such case the HDD isn?t accessible and cannot be used.

Sorry mate but in my opinion you have only one chance to get the BIOS password removed; you need the ASP assistance.

I have the following problem with my NB10. (Bios 1.70)

No matter how i set the boot order in BIOS it will always try the PXE boot first. As long as no net-cable is attached this is a minor problem as it quickly skips the PXE boot screen, however as soon as i plug in a net-cable, it will get stuck at the PXE boot screen until I press ESC. The only way to get rid of PXE boot is to disable the LAN entirely, which is not really a solution.

Bug: Should not always try PXE boot before other boot options with higher priority.

Missing feature: Should be possible to disable PXE, without disabling LAN entirely. PXE boot can be a potential security risk, so it would be nice to disable it when it is not needed.

I have filmed this issue and put it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZsOc2ny3VQ

I have replaced the original HDD with a SSD and installed Fedora 22 rather than Windows 8.1 - I dont know if any of these actions are the trigger cause for this bug.

A:Satellite Pro NB10 forced PXE boot BIOS bug

I have replaced the original HDD with a SSD and installed Fedora 22 rather than Windows 8.1 - I dont know if any of these actions are the trigger cause for this bug.

Obviously the BIOS does not recognize the boot partition (Linux) on the SSD drive and therefore the BIOS switches automatically to the next booting device (in this case LAN).

I’m wondering if the same issue would appear using the genuine HDD and the preinstalled Toshiba Win 8.1 image.
Could you perform some tests?

Hello There,

I'm currently in the processing of wanting to perform a refresh of the OS on my laptop. When I purchased the laptop from a well known department store, it came loaded with Windows 7, despite the pre-loaded OS being Windows 8 when purchased.

I've already disabled fast shut down, as recommended elsewhere on the forum. However, after numerous shut downs and start ups, pressing all manner of combination of keys to try and get either the boot menu or bios up, I just cannot do it. It boots straight to Windows.

I've attempted to boot from an external DVD drive aswell as a bootable USB.

I've tried F2, F12, F10, ESC and DEL on boot, but nothing. With repeated pressing, with continuous hold, with the FN key, just incase... just nothing!

Could anyone provide some insight into this please?

i've had numerous issues with my RAM, with system freezes and the occasional BSOD. I've checked the ram's seated properly. I've been running memtest x86 and windows ram diagnostic tool. i get LRAND-ERAND failures on windows diagnostic and errors in test 7 on memtest x86.

so far i've tried:

both RAM inserted (i have 2 x 1GB DDR2 667MHZ)
one RAM at a time inserted into one slot (2 DIMM slots, i've tried one RAM in one slot, other RAM in other slot)

currently running one RAM inserted into the slot i haven't put it in before to see if i get another string of errors.

i'm getting the errors every time i run the tests, usually during the first pass on memtest and during the first pass on windows diagnostic if i run a custom LRAND-ERAND test. The errors are variances between the expected/actual values of the memory

by my thinking, that means i've either got 2x faulty RAM or 2x faulty DIMM slot (i have an ECS motherboard).i have however read that the fault may be related to my BIOS settings (American Megatrends BIOS). if someone could clarify how i could test that theory, and what i'm looking for, i'd be most grateful.

I can't get at the BIOS. I believe the machine was relying on the Intel hybrid drive stuff using the SDD in RAID before, and that fast book was enabled. Obviously I am unable to clean shut down the machine any more since I can't boot it back up with the old disk.

What I really want to do is reset the whole thing. Get rid of any of the RAID stuff and put Windows back on the new HDD. Any ideas how I can get into the BIOS to get around any of the RAID or FastBoot stuff?

Is there any way to disable Hybrid Sleep physically? Removing the CMOS battery? Replace memory? I can't do it from software or access the BIOS and I'm wondering if it is this that is preventing a clean boot.

I updated the BIOS of my Satellite C50-B-14D (PSCMLE) to 5.10 (latest one, release early Sep. 2015).
The update was successful, and the laptop works as long as I don't install the wireless card drivers (Atheros AR9485).
If I try to install the driver (it does not matter which ones, those from Toshiba's website or those from the manufacturer's), the laptop freezes before the installer completes.
Installing the drivers from device manager makes the laptop freeze on when booting Windows (I tried 7, 8.1 and 10).
It freezes completely on the Windows logo screen, and I have to power it down.

Also, the wired network card is no longer detected (it does not show in device manager).
The same issue is described here (http://www.eightforums.com/general-s...ses-start.html) but no solution.

Any suggestion? Can the BIOS be downgraded? The BIOS update utility won't flash an older version.

A:Satellite C50B freezes on boot after BIOS update to 5.10

Hi Fabril,

I am also have the exact same issue since updating my BIOS to 5.10 with my Toshiba C50-B-14D PSC MLE

I have to boot windows in safe mode without networking to disable the Atheros AR9485 before restarting again in normal mode.
I now have to use an external WiFi adapter as my LAN port is now also missing!

Upset that the BIOS update has broken all my on board networking on the laptop.

I have tried updating the Atheros drivers to the latest version but as soon as the device is enabled again the system hangs and we are back to square one.

There is no fix I can find other than disabling the device and living without built in WiFi + LAN.

Hopefully Toshiba can fix this with a new BIOS update?

Was Windows 7, upgraded to Windows 10 many months ago. Should I try upgrading the Bios version? How do I know which download version to choose? Any help would be appreciated.

A:Satellite U940-108 - How to configure BIOS to boot dual OS from SSD / HDD

I assume you want to install the OS (which one???) on the internal mSATA 32GB SSD?
This mSATA SSD is used for caching (hybrid boot) in order to boot Windows 8 faster.

I would recommend you to install the second OS on the HDD.
For that you should create new partition which could be used for OS installation.

Then boot from the Windows installation disk and install the 2nd OS on the new created partition.

l can't use my laptop anymore, Toshiba P50-A-12Z, Intel Core i7 Haswell, 2013, since 6months, in the beginning of august.

At that time, l created a Blos password to prevent people from accessing my Computer. On boot, after type my pwd and hit "return" the display become blank and unresponsive and the computer is turned off after one minute.

I called Toshiba support which advised me to press and hold 20 sec. a button on the motherboard, turned the Computer on when it's plugged, but Blosis not reinitialized. Password still asked, still not booting.

l was used to resetting 90s desktop pcs with their Jumpers and round batteries but l can't find something similar here. The round battery is un accessible, it is protected inside a little black bag. Some Forums on the Internet talk about resetting Toshiba Satellites but their solutions date back to the 2000s. There is Nothing for a 2013 P50.

Their advice is somehow difficult:short circuit a pin or jumper while turning on. JP8 Or JRST 2001, 2002 or 2501. undert he RAM or eIsewhere. But l don't know how to short-circuit a place on the motherboard.

I can Find those JRST on the accessible side of my motherboard, but there is no visible corresponding pin or Jumper, please See My attached photos.

learning how to short-circuit is difficult, l have problems with technical english applied to electronics as english is not My mother tongue and video recordings on the subject on Youtube, are blurred whe... Read more

A:How to remove BIOS password bios on Satellite Pro M30

I'm afraid to tell you, but for this, you have to contact local ASP.
Because it is not that easy or possible the way you would do this on deskopt PCs.

This is why you have to take your machine to ASP. The guys there can remove the password.

I have an C55-A-1PC notebook unfortunately still with a base BIOS release version 1.10.
I want to upgrade to 1.20 or 1.30 first and then to 1.40.
I'm running Windows 8.1 x64 with an Intel i5 4th gen CPU model.

So i've tried to install the 1.20 version

or 1.30 version

both of these fail to even start after extracting running the launcher.
return error is:

IHISI: Get support mode error in SMI!
SMI Return Code: 0x45

When I search for the latest version in http://www.toshiba.nl/support/bios/ i only get 1.40 versions.
Where as the version of

1.40-WIN 4494 Mon Oct 13 15:01:00 BST 2014 Toshiba

is the only version that actually launches and opens the flash in CMD (command prompt).

Says model name is PT10S , starts winflash gives a regular warning for BIOS update , and after confirming the OK accordingly it gives back

No BIOS can be flashed

Maybe this was due to the update searching for a 1.30 version first before being able to actually start.
So I've tried to search for a previous version on the website or on google but they only point me towards the above mentioned BIOS updates which just doesn't work.

Anyone knows where to find the exact BIOS firmware update for 1.30 for the Satellite C55-A-1P... Read more
