Q: A corrected hardware error has occurred, Generic Cache Hierarchy Error

First my machine specs:

http://www.evga.com/community/ModsRi...asp?sysid=5160

Im using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Im having some issues with my computer freezing, this occurs while using a "patcher" to download content to a mmo game and sometimes while playing 3d games.

My event viewer has this all the time:

Preferred Solution: A corrected hardware error has occurred, Generic Cache Hierarchy Error

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: A corrected hardware error has occurred, Generic Cache Hierarchy Error

Please provide this information: http://www.techsupportforum.com/f217...ns-452654.html

Although you haven't mentioned any BSOD's, the info will provide us with some details so we can try to figure this out.

In general, a machine check is related to an error that's recognized by your CPU and reported to Windows. There's not usually much information in the error reports so we have to fiddle around trying to figure it out.

Most often these are either hardware problems (something's busted) or compatibility issues (either software or hardware).

Hi,
I suggest updating chipset driver. If it's an OEM computer, please download it from the computer manufacturer's website.
In addition, according to my search, some users resolved this issue by stopping the TI External Event Utility service. Please load services by clicking the Start button, typing Services.msc and pressing Enter. Find out that service, double click it and click
the Stop button.
Hope it helps.Vivian Xing - MSFT

Hi all!

Few weeks ago I built a PC and worked fine. So I built another for a friend with the only difference that I used a different GPU and RAM, but I don't think they are the reason behind my issue. I have come to a point where I don't know if it is a problem that I can fix here or if I should send back the CPU or Motherboard.
The sudden restarts get worse gradually since the OS installation. Memtest and Prime95 didn't crash or show any issues.
Please help me!
? OS: Windows 7 pro 64bit SPK1
? Original installed OS on system: Windows 7 pro 64bit
? full retail version
? System was build from new parts two weeks ago(except GPU and RAM). GPU is maybe 5 years old. RAM age is unknown.
? CPU: AMD FX4300 quad core
? Video Card: Sapphire Radeon 4870 512mb
? Motherboard: Gigabyte 79LMT-USB3
? Power Supply: Corsair CX600m

Like two days ago or so, I've installed Dragon Age: Origins by Bioware. Everything was fine, I created my character, completed my first quest then suddenly my laptop turned off. Since that, every time I try to play something (eg. StarCraft 2, Skyrim) my laptop randomly turns off without warning. I tried uninstalling Dragon Age but it didn't really help.
I googled the problem, and I found that I should look it up in the Event Viewer (Windows 7 Ultimate x64).
Every time it turns off I get three errors:

According to that log, it looks like your processor is dying. That is very rare however. Usually hardware failings can be caused by extremely high temperatures.

There are 3 causes of laptops shutting off:

-High temps
-Bad power cable/battery
-bad processor/ram

Use speccy to see what your temps are and post a screenshot here of it:

Well i just recently built a new computer, i have replaced the MOBO and still have this problem.

I keep randomly freezing. it could take 4 mins, it could take 6 HRS, i can run games fine and is triggered when i do absolutely nothing to trigger it. No BSOD, no errors in event viewer pre-crash. Ran memtest on my sticks, it came back no errors on 6 passes each stick.

It works fine in safe mode and in BIOS, no freezes there.

My event viewer gives me this error every 5 minutes:

A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Corrected Machine Check
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor ID: 4

ID 4 and ID 5 happen at the same time. ID 2 is rare.

I am NOT over clocked.

Could this be a hardware issue?

my voltage is

5.0 - 5v, 12.149 - v12, and 3.336 - 3.3v

CPU Temps 34-42

MB temp 34-37

I have tried 2 different windows CDs.

Could it be a PSU problem?

What puzzles me is if it is hardware why can i run safe mode with no freezes.

Hi there, I hope that I can get some help with an issue I am having trying to install new components via my usb ports. I've had the problem for some time and have tried various things which I will list below, but have been able to get around it by using another computer, which I now no longer have so I need to try to sort things out.

Problem computer : 2004 Dell Dimension 4600 supplied with XP service pack 1 install CD
O.S. : Windows XP home service pack 3 regularly updated.
Norton AV & Firewall regularly updated and showing no problems.
Additional anti-spyware etc..Malwarebytes, A-squared, Spyware Blaster and IE spypad.

What happens is this.... Where the new device has come with a installation CD I have followed the manufacturers install instructions, the software from the CD loads fine until it tells me to connect the device to the usb port. When I connect I get the new hardware icon in my task bar and the new hardware wizard pops up as normal. Then, when requested, I try to install new hardware such as a webcam, tv tuner, phone,or a new usb flashdrive into "any" of my usb ports and the wizard starts going through the process of installing. ( The usb flashdrive has no install CD)
However it then stops and brings up the same window every time "There was a problem installing this hardware. An error occurred during the installation of the device. The data is invalid."
I have tried...

Hi

Looking for any advise on this one please. For some time now my pc has been having random power offs when gaming, watching videos, logging into windows. After the reboots I just get a windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown, if it logs in without a power off. I have found this weird temporary fix of reseating the GPU card and all PSU connectors may work for a short time. Then randomly it happens again. Things tried:

1) recently reinstalled windows 7 32bit on different HDD, - Rebooted on test windows index score before SP1 was installed, had not even gone online!
2) swapped PSU with known working one - no change.
3) reseated RAM and graphics card
4) Reset BIOS to factory
5) Ran with sides of case off and temperatures not showing abnormal - sometimes powers off on logon on a cold boot
6) have swapped the GPU for a low spec AGP card - all ok for 2 months now but cant do any gaming or intense video. And getting display driver stopped responding and has recovered messages but no pow... Read more

Just bought a 2016 17t-x100 CTO and  went the dual-boot linuxMint MATE 18.1 route.  New laptop, new Linux release - not a match made in heaven.  It has not been easy.  I updated the kernel from 4.4.0-53 to 4.8.0-32 working on a sound issue, and about to try the microcode update.  I get help from their forums that amount to "go read two 700 page books so you can understand this one line of code", that mostly fix the problems but I am knee-deep in books trying to figure out why. Which brings me to the issue I hope you might be able to help me with - about 1000 messages per second are filling my kern.log file.  I'm pretty sure this is keeping something in my computer busy doing this error message, when it could be doing something that is not an error message. here is an example if you would like to help with the issue, or know someone that could.  HP Smart Friend "only supports Windows software", so they declined and I'm back in the library section for computer software engineers.  dmesg

Hi A little while ago I mention that you can not use an OEM disk to install an XP upgrade version and that it had to be an previous retail version , Well I was mistaken to believe this , I was told by a sale rep and a tech guy at this tech store here in Toronto ( Future shop ) , I thought these guys would know whether it can or cant and why would they steer me away from a sale because I was going to buy the XP upgrade version , The price was a good deal at $109 dollars , This is just last 2 week ago or so Im talking about , Also when I did purchase my retail XP pro version back when it came out ( Oct 2001 ) I thought I read somewhere that an previous OEM version wouldnt work with an XP upgrade version , How wrong I was , I just now notice Compusmart has XP upgrade for $89 which is much cheaper then FS , I went and bought it, Try it out on a clean hard drive , It did ask to load a previous version which I place my OEM 98 version , It then ask to place back the XP upgrade version to load XP , Well I can say for sure now that a OEM will work because I have successfully installed XP upgrade , As for future shop ? Im glad I was mis-info because I got it cheaper at Compusmart and sorry for misinforming sharky/others

BTW This OEM isnt a brand name ( HP , Dell ) disk , Its a Microsoft one

We recently deployed MBAM. While most users are not having issues, there is a group of users that continuously get prompted for the Recovery key every boot up. They wont even get prompted for the PIN. we have tried:
Turning bitlocker on and off (un-encrypt & re-encrypt)
Suspend and enable. (suspend, reboot, re-enable)

TPM is on &  activated on the problematic machines. they are different models. All computers in the environment are legacy boot (BIOS) and both, but no one is set to only UEFI.

If the UEFI was the issue everyone would have this issue. BIOS is up to date on these machines. These are mainly Lenovo T430 and T460, and one Dell XPS touch screen (2016)
Sadly this is hindering some of the top people within the company. I have researched this error code with no avail. any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I turned on my PC today for the first time in maybe 6mo, slow to boot up but that's expected. Got maybe ten minutes into using it (just fine, might I add. Linked to wifi, etc) and Norton popped up needing to restart the computer. Hit restart now, ten minutes
go by, PC is still trying to shut down. Black screen but the fan is running. I shut it off completely, push the power button again, and get the disc error. Try to restart twice with CtrlAltDel but same error. Finally soft reset (or try to, no indication that
holding the power button does anything) and then got the "Error loading operating system" screen. Now depending on how I restart it (trying to boot from the BIOS menu or boot menu) I get the disc read error but eventually come back to the OS error.

Nothing can get me into the system, period. I'm doing this from a secondary non-PC device. Any help is appreciated. I can get by on software fixes but I'm completely useless with hardware so all of the quick fix tips I've vaguely read have mentioned removing
things from the actual console which I'm hoping I won't have to do.
Please help thanks

Hello and welcome to the Vista Forums!

It is not .net Framework that you need, but the Visual C++ Runtimes, in particular the 2005 ones.

? Download and install the following VC++ Redistributables in the following order: 2005; 2005 SP1; 2008; 2008 SP1, 2010

Web addresses:

While trying to start up my Dell laptop with Vista Home Basic installed on it, I got an error saying that the winload.exe is missing. I ran the bcdedit commands to set the osdevice and device partitions. While trying to boot again, got an error again this time saying that Kernel is missing or corrupt. I tried to run a repair using the Vista installation cd but the repair failed midway. I tried to do a clean reinstall on the machine which completed successfully. But when I tried to boot the machine again, it gave an error 0xc00000e9 unexpected error has occurred with no other options. Running repair and reinstallation again did not work. I see that a lot of people have faced this problem but I could not find any solution which would work for me. Any clue about how to solve this and what is the cause of this problem? It has been really frustrating till now

A:Vista error while booting: 0xc00000e9 unexpected error has occurred

Hello IamThe,
If the E9 code is correct, then this is the bugcheck for your error.

STOP 0x000000E9: ACTIVE_EX_WORKER_THREAD_TERMINATION

Usual causes: Device driver

As you can see, the most probable cause is a driver.

Have you tried to boot into safe mode ?.
If you can get to safe mode with networking, go to C > Windows > Minidump and upload the files. You may need to save them to desktop before you zip them up and upload them.

Take a look and post your results, good luck.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Welcome to Seven Forums callumshell1. The 1st thing I would suggest would be to run the System Files Checker.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

See if it finds and corrects any errors. Also, see if you locate the 2 dx logs mentioned, in the windows directory, and post them here, or just the text if they are short, which they may well be.

Hello,

I recently switched out an older Netgear router for the Netgear WNDR3300. I have a 1TB WD MyBookWorld connected via ethernet to the router. Ever since the router switch I have been having two specifice issues:While uploading videos to Facebook, the video will upload anywhere from several MB up to over 100 MB, then stall, saying it's still uploading but trust me, it isn't.
I can copy files/folders from the networked hard drive to my computer flawlessly, but when I try to copy files/folders from my computer to the networked hard drive, it copies anywhere from a few seconds to maybe a couple minutes then stalls out, giving the error message:
"Network Error. There was a problem accessing [\\SERVER\FOLDER]... Make sure you are connected to the network and try again." with Retry, Skip and Cancel. When cancel is pressed it gives: "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem. Error 0x8007003B: An unexpected network error occurred.

Other useful information: on the new router, the WNDR3300, if I use WEP security, I can copy files/folders to the hard drive, no problem. However if I try to use WPA/WPA2, the abovementioned problems occur. I would use WEP and just forget the hassle, but WPA2 is much faster and more secure, so I really want to get this fixed.

I also believe the two problems are somehow related, considering they both involve... Read more

A:Error 0x8007003B: An unexpected network error occurred

Hmmmm, Tough Problem.

One of the things it could be is a loose connection, and it keeps on dropping out. Try checking all of your Patch (Ethernet) Cables and reconnecting them all.

As you can copy the files on WEP, it seems like windows is preventing a so called 'Hacker' (You) from copying a 'Virus' (Files) onto the HD. Try to edit the security settings yourself, edit the sharing options in the HD's properties and that might fix it...

Sorry about the long wait.

Hello

Hi,
Do you have some anti-virus software installed and set to scan network drive, temporarily disable it, check if that is the cause.
I also suggest you update the firmware of your router.

I have a RemoteApp server setup (Windows 2012 R2) with SSO enabled. This RemoteApp server is for internal use only. I have no issues with any of my clients running Windows 7 or above. On Windows XP however, I can only connect to the RemoteApp session once
and then I get the error An authentication error has occurred (Code: 0xc00002fd). If I reboot the PC, it will again work once and then get the error.
The other thing we discovered is that when you first close the RemoteApp session, the mtsc.exe process remains active for 30 seconds or so. As long as that is active, I can re-enter the RemoteApp session multiple times. The moment I kill that process, I
get the error and must reboot.
I'm pretty sure something is being cached on the client side, but every lead I have found has not resulted in a resolution.
Anyone have any ideas? (Btw, "get off of XP" is not an option at this time. lol)
Any assistance would be great.

Later in the day I went back to go onto the internet and things started to happen.

First I could not connect to the internet at all. Each time I tried, I received the "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage" i.e. yahoo.com

I ran the diagnose connection and indicated that I had to contact my ISP. I did that and thing worked ok for a little while. Then things just returned back to bad...

Bottom line is 1. I do not know how to do DNS Cache Cleaning, 2. I also have 2 error code's, Ox2afc and error code 80072ee7.
