can't get Microsoft Visio Viewer to work?

Q: can't get Microsoft Visio Viewer to work?

I have installed and then reinstalled Microsoft Visio Web Viewer 2003 and still can't open .vsd files. I saved the .vsd file to my desktop. Afterwards, I opened Internet Explorer. Then I clicked Open in Internet Explorer, then pasted the file's address into the Explorer browser.

When I click ok, rather than an image of the file, I get a blank window with a small box with a red x in it. What am I doing wrong?

Please advise, thanks very much.

Preferred Solution: can't get Microsoft Visio Viewer to work?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Visio files are received as attachments in Outlook 2016. Visio Viewer 2016 and IE11 are also installed on Windows 10 (1607).
Previewing the Visio file (VSD in this case) is successful. However, when you try to open the Visio file, IE11 attempts to open it (as expected) but only displays a blank page.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this issue?   Other articles suggest that Visio Viewer 2016 does not support IE11.

I have Office 2007 and the Office 2010 Visio Viewer installed. Anytime I click on a vsd file, I am redirected to Internet Explorer where the Visio Viewer is launched. This is fine for browsing a Visio file. I can move the diagram around and zoom in for more detail.

However, when I want to print the Visio diagram I'm finding I cannot get it to work properly. First and foremost, Visio diagrams seem to work on a "boundless" paradigm. There is no real "border". If you move a diagram up, the scroll bars re-position to keep the diagram "centered". So, when I go to Print Preview, I find the diagram is too small. I want to zoom in on the diagram and have it print to fill the page, without unnecessary white space around this. But... this does not happen. The Visio Viewer does some kind of reduction, making the fonts look pixelated.

I can't for the life of me find a way to center the diagram to fill the page and then print this. I've tried a couple of separate tools, like visViewer, but they can't achieve this either. My "workaround" is to use visViewer to screen capture portions of a diagram, then bring those separate images into Photoshop and piece them together. This is laborious and tedious.

So am I missing something? Or is there a 3rd party Visio viewing tool that does a sufficient job and being able to print diagrams with a decent scaling function, so that a diagram will "fit to page" with good resolution? Heaven forb... Read more

A:Visio viewer -- terrible at printing

I believe the main issue with printing from microsofts viewer is related to a bitmap representation of a vector image - quality will always suffer in these circumstances

There are other (mostly if not all Free ) viewers for the format, have not used any of these as I have direct access to all versions of the Visio application but may be worth a check to see if anything better meets your needs

The Microsoft Visio® Viewer 2002 allows anyone to view Visio drawings and diagrams (if created with Visio 5, 2000, or 2002) inside their Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later Web browser.

You're talking about converting a display format file, probably a raster based graphic, into a vector based file. I don't think that's going to happen.

A customer of mine has Visio Professional 2007 and every day or so he gets the pop up wanting him to select either add or remove Features, Repair or Remove.  After doing the repair it works, but he keeps getting this.  I've removed the program

I needed to free up space on my C: drive, so I attempted to uninstall Microsoft Vision Standard 2007 -- but the uninstallation would not work using Add/Remove Programs. So, I hastily used the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility to remove it, which is appears to have done to some extent.

Problem: The program is still appearing in the Add/Remove programs pane, and it won't allow me to uninstall from there.

I've tried reinstalling Visio from the disc, but receive this error right before it quits:
"Microsoft Office Visio Standard 2007 encountered a problem during setup."

I don't want the program anymore, I'm just trying to remove all traces of it from my computer without causing further damage.

When I run Microsoft Office Diagnostics, I got this result:Setup Diagnostic ? Missing media

The Setup Diagnostic was not completed because a valid source was not found. Either the local installation source is missing, or the original source that was used to install Microsoft Office is not available to the repair process. You may need to provide the original source to allow this diagnostic to run successfully. Valid sources for the 2007 Office release include the following:

Your 2007 Office release installation CDAn installation disk or repair CD provided by the vendor of your computerA connection to a network installation of the 2007 Office release
After you obtain access to a valid source, run Office Diagnostics again.

At work, we recently upgraded from Visio 2000 to Visio 2003.

Mistake. Big mistake. Huge.

Now, when we try to edit the graphics, we get the same types of problems that many other users have reported: lines don't connect; text is improperly kerned (spaced between letters); text appears lighter (medium gray) in print and on screen; some elements don't display.

Has anyone been successful at getting Visio 2000 images into Visio 2003 format without heavy image editing?

my xps viewer is not working. xps viewer has stoped working. I went to look to uninstall net framework 3.0 but I cannot find it. 3.5 but no 3.0 on my list. when I try to turn off windows features for net framework, it says please wait for ever not moving at all on the bar. when I downloaded the uninstall tool for net framework 3.0 from microsoft it cannot find the requred programs or uninstall anything, if I look for the xps viewer file I can find it, I do not know or think its a good idea to go into windows and delete net framework 3.0 from my computer? but I do not know how to fix this issue? any help appreciated, no there is not a restore point.

A:microsoft xps viewer error

I'm not sure why you want to uninstall .NET Framework 3.0 - we instead need to make certain it IS installed and enabled and that .xps is also enabled.

Here's how to make sure you have .NET Framework 3.0 installed and XPS Viewer enabled: What is the XPS Viewer?. The article suggests if .NET Framework 3.0 isn't installed (and I get the impression that might be the case from your post though I'm not sure how or why that happened), to install it using the download from the link in the article but the download says it isn't for Vista and I cannot understand how the two articles both from Microsoft can present such diametrically opposite guidelines - so to be on the safe side I wouldn't do it yet (but we may come back to this later if all else fails).

In the meantime, let's try some general troubleshooting, starting with a check of your system files and hard drive for corruption or problems.

Go to Start / All Programs / Accessories / Command prompt and right click on command prompt and click run as Administrator.

Type sfc /scannow and enter and let it run. It will scan and try to fix some of your system files. Hopefully it will complete with no corruption it could not repair (if there is such corruption post back here or try to analyze it to find the problem file(s) using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228. Try to attach the report (you may need to copy it to your desktop before it will permit you to attach it) here so we can see if they can be repaired with good copies... Read more

Has anyone actually tried this on Canon's *.cr2 files and been able to view the thumbnail? I had the previous version and it worked for the Rebel RAW files but this version will not work on my 30D RAW ( .cr2 ) files.

This is what I ran into.....
Upon the first attempt to install the app I was given two choices.. 1) Repair ( as I had the previous ver installed ) 2) Remove. I selected Repair because in most cases it will write over what's already there and add the new files. That didn't work so I went at it again and selected Remove. That wiped all versions off. I reinstalled the app and during the process I was given the choice of which file formats to include. I selected among others the .cr2 format because that's what I need. It completed the install process, I rebooted, opened up a folder that contained some .cr2 files and I do not get a thumbnail. I have tried to look at it with a right click and " preview ", no go. I tried " open with " , selected Microsoft RAW Image Viewer and all I get is " Failed to load the Image ". Anyone have any ideas as their " white paper " doesn't give any clues as to what is going on?

A:Errors in Event Viewer - Microsoft Antimalware and SCM

ScRegSetValueExW is due to AVG, you can stop it by opening AVG - Options/Advanced Settings and turned off " AVG Self Protection". Not sure if it is a good idea though, proceed with caution.

Microsoft Antimalware Real-Time Protection is due to having both MSE and AVG installed same time. Uninstall one.

Within the past couple of days, a problem has occured on my computer with Microsoft PDF Reader from the App Store. I have searched this forum and found a couple of others experiencing the same problem, but no mention as to how to fix it.

When I open some PDF files using the PDF Reader, they appear with black backgrounds behind/over the text and-or over images. Note that this problem only occurs with SOME PDF files - not all. I am able to open and view the affected PDF files just fine in Foxit
PhantomPDF 6.0. The files affected were created using various versions (PDF-1.5, PDF-1.4, etc).

Only a couple of days ago, I was able to view these affected PDF files without any problem in the Microsoft PDF Viewer. I re-downloaded a couple of the files and tried to view them, but got the same black background.

The fact that I am still able to view the files in Foxit tells me that there must be something wrong with the Viewer software and not with the PDF files. I did an uninstall of the PDF Viewer then reinstalled it from the App Store, but this did not fix the problem.

I noticed one person responded to a similar problem in these forums by asking if the problem persisted in Safe Mode. I tried to see if it persisted for me in Safe Mode, and quickly discovered that the Microsoft PDF Reader cannot be run in Safe Mode on my computer.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

With Microsoft Access Snapshot Viewer, you can distribute a snapshot

without having Access installed. For example, a customer may want to
send a supplier an invoice that is generated by using an Access

package the database so that the supplier can view it and print it

Hello all,

I have absolutely no idea what has happened to my computer. It was working fine when I left, when I cam home I have lost all my icons(shortcuts). My wife said that she tried to copy some pictures from her SD card to the hard drive. I have no idea if this caused the problem, but all of my icons are leading to the microsoft photo viewer. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Thanks in advance.
