I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

And ofcourse I tried installing Audio and updated BIOS (even though the BIOS version was 35 according to Utility Manager). None of the two packages helped. and Now I am trying to reset PC. I was going on a train, so i turned off my laptop to get it in my backpack. When i tried to boot it in the train, the screen was not turning on. It stayed like that. I've tried many things (battery drain, bios update and else) but it just doesn't work. I can plug in an external monitor an it is just fine. I'm just reminding you that the screen is OFF, it doesn't show anything through the bootup and in the windows. The external monitor is considered as a main one, and i can go to bios through it. I really don't know what happened, and i couldn't find any way to fix it in the internet. So i ask, do you know the problem ? If yes, then can i do something besides just sending it to service ? It looks like my warranty worn out january this year.

Yes, there is something wrong with this model. A lot of other people have had the same issue where the laptop will no longer boot after a long sleep or shutdown. There is a BIOS update that is being released sometime by the end of the month to fix this issue. I do not know if Lenovo has a USB flash function, but if they don't you should probably exchange for another or wait for the BIOS update, so that you can flash the new BIOS as soon as you get the replacement.

Hello, I have had my Y700 for 2 months. Right from the start I had the issue where it wouldn't seem to boot up, and I would have to put it to sleep a time or 2 before it would start windows. This problem seems to be solved. However, after installing the windows 10 anniversary update, the laptop will randomly 'freeze'. The keyboard will not respond, but I can still use the mouse. When I try to restart, the screen will go black, and it will not respond at all. I have to force shutdown with power button. After turning back on, it will work for 20-30 min and then do the same thing. I did a total reinstall of windows 10 and have updated bios to the 37, but it is doing the same thing.  Lenovo Solutions Center does not detect hardware issues. Can someone please help me? Thanks! Here are my specs:Y700-15ISK TouchBIOS: CDCN37WWRAM: 16GBHD: 256 SSD

Hi Everyone, I found 2 air bubbles in the top right corner of my Y700-15ISK's screen.First I thought that it was under the screen protecting foil but it rather seems to be under the glass.I have never seen such faulty display before. The problem occured on the very last day of the warranty period but I could file the claim only today, 2 weeks later when I realized that more bubbles appeared, now there 10 air bubbles. Now I wait for feedback from Lenovo. Is there anyone with such issue? Hi everyone, The right half of the screen of my new Y700-15ISK laptop is darker than the left half. All drivers are up to date, I have not updated the BIOS yet though. Questions:I.Has anyone had the same issue? Is this common or just my particular device is bad? II.What could be the possible cause of this? Could this be caused by the semi-matte film? So, if I removed the film, would this problem disappear? If anyone has had the same issue and solved it by removing the film, I would love to hear from it.Or is this rather a backlight issue, meaning that the screen or its electronics has to be replaced/fixed in the repair center? (I did not expect this to happen to a brand new product anyway.) Thank you for your help in advance!Andras

I wanted to buy the Y700 Touch-15ISK 80NW000YUS listed here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834331598&cm_re=lenovo_y700-_-34-331-598-_-Pro... and I wanted to know if the screen was matte or the glossy version covered with the anti-glare coating seen in other y700. I thought they were mostly glossy but I saw this video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOmVjyZazGo which seemed to show a newer model with a matte screen. And there aren't any websites that show you the type of finish.

A:Y700-15ISK matte or glossy screen?

sgcyrus wrote:I wanted to know if the screen was matte or the glossy version covered with the anti-glare coating.I think that this may vary from one country to another.  I have an Ideapad 500-15ISK that has a glossy screen, but I read a review online from a European reviewer, and his version had a matte screen. There are many different combinations of components that the manufacturer can use for each model.  But the Lenovo importer in each country won't stock every possible combination.  Instead, the marketing staff in each country will spec two or three models that they think will sell best in their country, and that is all that the importer will stock.  So some countries may sell versions with glossy screens, while others sell versions with matte screens. Look at the detailed specs for the model that you are thinking of purchasing, and (if possible) try to view it at your local retailer (which is what I did, so I was not surprised by the presence of a glossy screen). -- from CyberSimian in the UK

So I bought this new laptop two weeks ago and now I've had 3 times this same blue screen error. It comes totally without warning, supposedly the reason is the Intel HD Graphics 530's driver which I am going to now clean install totally as it gives me this warning that the software hasn't been confirmed by the manufacturer or some crap. Really expected a lot more from Lenovo, this is now my 2nd laptop from them after I succesfully used up the last one (the power port started disconnecting, I guess too much damage from movement). I hope that this will fix it but otherwise I'm going to return this and buy some other product which works out of the box. Really outrageous that the product is defected by default. I recently bought this laptop and I have two problems:1. Especially when the screen is black, there is a green light on the upper part of the screen. I don't know what causes it maybe a led or something is installed badly (it's a 5 cm² area). Should I take it back and ask for a new one?2. This problem is related to scaling. When it is set to 100%, everything is small but crystal clear. When at 150%, everything looks normal but some apps like Steam, BitTorrent... are blurry like they were just zoomed on. Reinstalling windows and drivers should solve this? Simply reinstalling drivers didn't help. Thanks!

A:Lenovo Y700-15ISK screen issues

I don't know anything about your first problem (it may be a hardware problem), but I do know something about the second. Some programs (Steam, for example) aren't made for high-dpi screens. for these programs that appear blurry, right click on their icon (on the desktop), and click properties. Under the compatibility tab, check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". This should work after you restart the program.

I bought my Y700-15ISK on 24/06/16 and within an hour or so of use the screen went black and the computer didn't seem to respond to anything (except toggling the keyboard backlight with Fn-space). The computer itself did not shut down as indicated by the keyboard lights. This kept repeating itself several times at seemingly random intervals and the computer would only return to normal after a hard shut down by holding the power button and power back up again. I've seen several other complaints on the forums regarding this problem, one of which was tagged as solved and contained a broken link to Lenovo's solution. The following link was found elsewhere and seems to refer to the same problem: https://support.lenovo.com/il/en/documents/SF16-I0012 Though here the link for the BIOS update is broken (which is version 30 anyway, and the one on my computer is 34). Later I found a page on Lenovo's site cached by Google (original is dead) containing update 35 for this model's BIOS but it doesn't seem to install correctly and I still have version 34. I've also seen talk of update 35 causing trouble for other users. I've updated all relevant drivers as well and the computer is not heating up, running the fans loudly or acting strangely otherwise when this issue occurs. I have sent a message to Lenovo but will probably only get a response after the weekend. As far as I can piece together they might have released a bad update to counteract this and have taken it do... Read more

Back in September, I purchased a Y700-15ISK laptop, and up until about ten days ago I had no problems with it whatsoever. However, that changed when the screen started flickering intermittently. Initially, I wasn't too concerned, but when I turned my laptop on the following day, the problem became a lot more extreme. On this occassion, the screen flickered so wildly during the boot-up process, that I had great difficulty logging in. It was only after I'd rebooted my laptop several times, that it became stable enough to use normally. Over the next few days, the flickering became less frequent, but instead I started experiencing graphical glitching in the form of jagged little white lines which seemed to be triggered mainly by dark colours. Since then, I've had another awful session where the flickering has made my laptop unusable, and a couple more sessions where I've mainly been affected by the glitching. I regularly experience the glitching whilst the Lenovo logo is displayed during the boot-up process, and when I access the BIOS, so I assume I'm dealing with a hardware problem as opposed to a Windows 10 problem. Nevertheless, I did update my drivers, but this made no difference. The one thing I haven't tried is updating my BIOS. I'm still on CDCN28WW, but I'm aware that the latest version is CDCN52WW. The reason I'm hesitant to update is because the problems are usually at their worst when I boot-up or reboot ... Read more

I doub't that it was me, who damaged a screen, because i'm really gentle, when using it.I bought a notebook at the beginning of this year. It is still on a warranty. I already tried send on a warranty to a serivce for repair ( i think, company is called MEDION (at least for lenovo devices bought in Poland), but they send it back, with a reason that "they couldn't achive same problem in their test enviroment" which is really strange, because problem appears everytime notebook is working. Any suggestion what i can do? Should i send it back again on the warranty, hoping that this time, they will be able to see a defect? What was the root cause of a problem? I don't won't to leave it like that, because notebook wasn't cheap, and except a screen issue, notebook is amazing. But it is really hard and annoying to use it like that.Attached screens, look at the bottom right corner. Orange shade is most intense in this place. But you can see it also, througthru all the bottom and right edge.??Thank you for any advices.

Hey guys, I purchased my Lenovo Yoga 710 15 inch laptop at the beginning of August and after a couple of days my screen went black and I couln't see my mouse or anything and the keyboard backlight was still on. I had to manually turn off the laptop by holding the power button. And since then it happens frequently. Sometimes I can go the whole day without it happening and days like today it will go black about 5-6 times a day. I contacted Lenovo technical support and the guy I was talking to said its not a hardware issue and maybe a softare issue. And I am getting sick and tired of this happening so often. I switched from a macbook to this and it feels like I made a huge mistake doing so. Nobody from Lenovo can tell me whats wrong with my laptop and I have updated all the drives and my computer is updated so I have no clue why it keeps doing it.  Can anyone please help me resolve this issue since no one from Lenovo can help me?

Same here. Owned the laptop for about a month. Had a very similar problem on boot there was Lenovo logo with the spinning circle afterwards nothing but black screen. (I could change the brightness using fn + arrow keys) after waiting few minutes I've shut down the laptop manually (by pressing the power button for a few seconds). Next time it boots fine, a bit long though, with Lenovo logo and the black screen before windows logging screen appeared Looks like it's not just you. Mine came back to life though.Aside this little incident I'm enjoying the laptop a lot. Sadly can't say it's been flawless, having other problems with it (CPU temps, none of lenovo apps working properly)i7 6700HQRAM 8GB4GB GTX 960M1TB SATAWin 10

Hi ladies & gentlemen, I live in France and I bought a Lenovo Y700 laptop in June 2016. I was very happy of it until one day when I wanted to boot the laptop, the screen stayed black. I know the system is working because the leds are on and I can hear the noise inside the laptop. I don't know what to do because my screen is black in every circumstances even if I tap F8 or F5. I have no access to the BIOS and when I tried to connect the laptop to my TV with the HDMI cable, it didn't work. Could it be a problem of graphic card ? The Lenovo support told me to factory reset with the button but it did not work either. Thank you in advance for helping me

Y700 keep on getting BSOD & wont turn , screen stay black with backlight all on. sometime BSOD appear and the whole screen scramble, i must force shutdown in order to turn it back on. Tried updating all my driver to the lateest and my bios is ver.30>> tried almost everything, the only thing yet to try is reformat/reinstall window. this laptop is brought 3 months ago. not sure why's this happenening

I think the best course of action in this scenario is a system restore.

If you get a BSOD after that also, then it is a hardware failure and most probably the motherboard will have to be replaced under warranty.

Hi, I live in Macedonia and I bought the laptop less than a month ago. Just now when I tried to turn it on, the power indicator turns on, the battery is being used but the hard drive light is not flashing at all and the monitor shows absolutely nothing, not even the logo. What the hell? I want my money back if it's already having problems!

Hi, There's 4 lights at the front of the laptop, you should have the two left hand side lights on, power, and battery, these should be solid white, or the second light (battery) may be orange depending on the battery level. Have you tried Fn key + up arrow? I.e. make sure brightness is all the way up? If so try the opposite (Fn key + down arrow) because I have a laptop that Windows 10 install made the brightness levels reversed. If none of these work do you even get the Lenovo symbol during startup? If not and the laptop screen has never turned on then you have a dead unit and need to swap it our for a new one, contact the retailer for an RMA. CheersMatt
