I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This has a problem. I downloaded it from the official Microsoft website, and i cant use it for some reason, i have it installed, is says everything has installed successfully but then i try to five the Visual C++ and i cant, oddly enough at the bottom of program files folders there is a Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0 folder i open that and there is another folder called Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition - ENU. i open this and there is only a log folder. well i figure i must be doing it wrong so i go to Start>All programs>Visual C++ 9.0 Express Edition, i click the Visual C++ 9.0 .exe and it says, "Windows is searching for VCExpress.exe to locate yourself click browse. I would love to locate it myself but every time i do the system search the window freezes for some reason. well I'm out of ideas, if anyone would like to give it a shot please do. ill be checking back 2-3 times a day, so sorry if its a tad late response.

Hello. I'm using Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition to write a program. At this point I'm just working on a Win32 Console App to develop some classes. Now I'm at a point where I need to add console I/O to test class functions. Unfortunately, for some reason the console I/O APIs don't seem to work. Has anybody run into this problem before or know how to fix it? Thanks.

Presumably that would be because the 2005 editions have been replaced with the (just-as-free) 2008 Express versions.

What is the issue that prevents you from using the newer tool?

I am going to start learning how to build programs and become very fluent in C++. I also decided to use one of the Visual C++ Express Editions because they're free. The problem is that I'm not sure whether to get version 2005 or 2008.

I'm pretty sure they are more tutorials and books about version 2005, but I think 2008 has more features.

Any recommendations?

A:Visual C++ Express Edition version 2005 or 2008?

I just moved all of my company's C++ development projects from VS2005 to VS2008 and found the environments and tools to be very similar. Since the majority of the information in tutorials for VS2005 is still valid for VS2008, I would choose to start with VS2008 rather than having to worry about upgrading to VS2008 later.

Hi everyone,

I haven't coded in VB in a very long time. I need to create a quick project that does the following:

Reads the current topics on a certain webpage (or even better, rss feed) and stores it into a string which I can parse and use in the program.

I am then using the string to play certain sounds.

So basically I need help with how to:

1) Code the web crawler
2) Playback sounds (WAV files). The important part here is that I need to be able to control aspects of the playback such as VOLUME and PITCH (if possible), and PANNING (left to right speakers) (if possible). Most importantly though, the sounds have to be able to play over one another. In other words, I need to have multiple WAV files playing simultaneously.
Would really appreciate help with this! Thanks

Any solution to this?

Thank you very much.

A:Solved: problem installing visual c++ 2008 express edition

Try uninstalling .NET framework betas and previous versions and see if that works or you could install .NET 3.5 before you install visual c++. If this doesnt work or you want any other help then dont hesitate to ask

Hi,
I’ve been struggling for some time to find how to program shortcuts using VB 2008 and placing them in an existing folder, (or non-existing for that matter). I have no problem making the actual shortcuts but I can only get the routine to work if I put the shortcuts on the desktop. Sadly, 300+ shortcuts on my (already crowded) desktop isn’t really practical.

My current code is:-

Public Class Form1

' This is the VB4 DLL
Private Declare Function fCreateShellLink Lib "STKIT432.DLL" _
(ByVal lpstrFolderName As String, ByVal lpstrLinkName As String, _
ByVal lpstrLinkPath As String, ByVal lpstrLinkArguments As String) As Long

Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click

End ' This is just an abort if required.
End Sub
___________________________________________________________________________________________

Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click

Dim Ireturn As Long
Dim a As String = "..\..\Desktop" & Chr(0) ' Put S/c here.
Dim b As String = "Dave Sheriff - Alamo" & Chr(0) ' Name of C/s.
Dim c As String = "C:\music\~title artist\Alamo - Dave Sheriff.mp3" & Chr(0) ' This is the target file.
Dim d As String = "" & Chr(0) ' 4th required attribute.

Ireturn = fCreateShellLink(a, b, c, d)

End
End Sub

End Class

Hi,

While trying out Visual Web Developer Express I've noticed that they've grouped all data operations into one control (for example, AccessDataSource). I'd like to save the results of a query in String variables rather than display them in a control such as GridView or DetailsView. I was wondering if anyone knew of any way to access specific elements of the result rather than using these controls??? Thanks for your help.

What exactly are these programs? I have like 5-6 of them, and was wondering if it is safe to uninstall them.

Like, are there any programs that are dependent upon it?

A:Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable

They are normally installed along side an application. They install runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries which are required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2008 installed.

Theres a good chance that a piece of software on your system requires the C++ libraries to run, it is safe to leave the application on there, you might have issues with a specific program if you remove it.

Greetings!

I have an 18 month old Dell w/ Windows 7 SP1 - no problems with performance. I use it for very basic uses: I do not write programs.

In the control panel > programs section I have 5 entries for MS Visual C++ 2008: one is an ATL update (x86) & the other 4 are 'Redistributable' programs, two x64 and two x86.

Are these programs necessary? If I delete them, will it cause havoc?

I have seen Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable listed on the net. Is this something I should upgrade to? If so, should I delete the 5 programs above & then install the 2010 version?

Thanks for your help!

uh... a lot, and I mean a lot of applications and games need it to run, it's likely it was installed by a game or application you put on your computer.

It's likely windows isn't letting you remove it because it knows you have system components that need it.

Hello,
well, first off, check this image:

As you can see, I've blurred out all irrelevant programs. The rest, are all Microsoft-related-programs, and the highlighted are the multiple Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable applications I am talking about.

As you can see, there are two C++ 2005 Redisitributable, which doesn't make much sense. (although the first one weights 2.69MB and the second only 346KB) The last two that are highlighted are both C++ 2008 Redisitributable for x86, however the second is a newer version (do I really need the first version so that the last one can work?).

I ask this because I believe this is a complete waste of space and processing memory. Thank you in advance and if I missed any valuable information, please let me know and I will post it up ASAP.

I once had this before when I tried to download Age of Empires Online. I decided one game isn't worth the problem, and I'd avoid all "Games for Windows" games because of this issue. I was trying to install Visual Studio 2010 and started encountering errors with the C++ distributable package during install, so I decided to install it by itself. Whenever I try and install it, it stops on
Feature: FT_VC_Redist_openMP_x86 Enter text and I receive the following error message before it rolls the install back:

I am running it in Admin mode and have tried disabling the services and restarting my machine. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. This problem is preventing me from installing numerous software titles that require this to be in place. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

hi

i have 2 versions of visual c++ installed in win7 64bit ultimate now i know that they are required for gaming which i do on my pc

but recently i installed visual c++ 2012 for a new game and now i am thinking can i delete my older versions i.e 2008 and 2010 without making any errors in the game that i play because i know some trouble may arise if i removed them so i am asking the professionals

does the 2012 version covers the previous updated or do i need the older version now as well?

A:Microsoft visual c++ 2008-2010 can i uninstall and use 2012 version

Just install the 2012 version, having both versions won't cause problems, and I'm sure you require the older versions for backwards compatibility for older programs.
