Virgin Media and 3 xbox 360s NAT problems

Q: Virgin Media and 3 xbox 360s NAT problems

Hello, I have a cable virgin media (20MB) connection. The router that I was supplied with only allows a port to be open to one xbox at a time. The upnp only assign a port to one xbox which means that the other 2 get a "NAT Type: Strict" message.

What cable router would you recommend to allow me to connect 3 xboxs?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

First of all I suppose I should explain the layout of our wired network.

It starts with an NTL cable modem going via Ethernet into an old Belkin 4-port router. A wire goes from this to a computer next to the router. Another wire goes from the router, around the outside of our house, and into a bedroom closet. In there, it is plugged into a really old D-Link Ethernet hub, from which a wire goes to my brother's Xbox 360, and another wire goes up into the attic of our house, and along to my closet, where it splits again via a little Ethernet splitting thing, off to my Xbox 360, and my PC.

I agree that it's a really ugly setup, and I'm hoping to go wireless after Christmas. In the mean time, I'm having a few problems.

The issue is that the Xbox 360s are acting temprementally about whether or not they'll connect to Xbox Live. Mine in particular. During the connection test on the console itself, it tells me that the "IP Address" section of the test has failed. Last night I noticed this, and decided to assign each console it's own IP address (was previously on Automatic). We tested it a few times, and all seemed to be working fine.

Today though, I switched the wire going from the hub to my brother's 360 with a newer one (the older one was broken on one end and just kind of "hung" in the console).

Now the problem is this- my 360 is happy to connect if I just turn it on on it's own. If I then turn on my brother's 36... Read more

Let me explain my situation. I have verizon fios, which comes with an actiontec router. I connect my laptop wirelessly to the router, and use ics to connect 1 xbox 360 to it. But now, I got another 360, so im trying to connect my laptop to the wireless router, use ics to connect my laptop's lan port to another router, and then connect the 2 360s to the lan ports of that router. Im not entirely sure how to assign all the ip addresses, but i will list the ones that i have so far:

My laptops lan adapter:

I set the lan router to, is that correct? And i set it to have dhcp with the range of - Now can i just connect my laptop's ethernet port to the internet port of the lan router, and then connect the 360's to it with dhcp enabled?

Currently I use Windows Media Center as the main program and then have Xbox 360s as extenders. I was thinking about trying out Kodi (XBMC) but am pretty new to the world of partial cord cutting and home theater PCs. Is it possible to use the Xbox 360s as extenders while running Kodi on the main desktop PC (HTPC)? Or, can I even use Kodi on ChromeTV or anything like that?

I'm just trying to find the best way to set up an HTPC as I don't have the ability to actually connect a computer DIRECTLY to each TV (that's why I have the extenders).

Welcome to TSG!

Is your router set to only accept the "known" devices?
I forget the exact name of the option but I had a similar problem with my router. It was locked to the already connected devices, wasn't allowing new connections. Even when I entered the password it wouldn't allow it. had to set the option in the router settings.

Sorry that is so vague, but have a look at your router settings, see if there is anything similar.

hey, i bought my xbox360s 3 days ago, brought it home and set it up, finds my belkin surf modem router f7d2401 v1, i enter the normal passcode i have used for that past 2 years with other items such as laptops and iphones, but it cant connect?
i think it has something to do with the i p address, its showing when set on automatic, i then checked on the belkin setep page, and it showed the dchp was enabled? so i then got the information of the website and entered it manually but it still couldnt connect, i called both xbox and belkin and i know no more than i did before... xbox tried telling me after hours of questions and tests that it was my router, it musnt give out the 2.4gghtz needed, so i then called belkin, they also did tests and asked me questions and then told me that his computer screen is telling him the router can not connect to that xbox. why cant i connet?!

A:xbox 360s cant connet to belkin modem router

this is a wireless connection - anyway of connecting the xbox to the router by a cable and test and see if it works that way

next would be to remove the wireless security from the belkin router and see if the xbox will now connect

next would be to try a fixed IP address in the xbox to connect to the router

I got it restarted but the same problem each time i restarted. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but now the installer says it's having problems contacting the server.
I'm running XP and PC Guard is only installed on the one computer. Like i said it's been working fine for the last 4 months.

Hi folks, not posted many times here but here goes.
Both my wife and I have a laptop each running on a wireless router. Everything has been fine until a few weeks ago when my wife's laptop suddenly decided it would not display VM's homepage as normal.
What she gets is a page full of VM's advertising for all it's services! There is no news, weather. movies, trailers and all the other usual stuff is missing. My laptop is unaffected. Should say that my laptop runs on Vista and the wife's is an XP sp3 machine with both fully updated for Windows. I'm using the Chrome browser and she prefers IE, although she has Chrome installed this still shows the same problem. If we change her homepage to MSN/uk this doesn't exhibit the same issue as Virgins page does.
Have tried all I can think of to resolve this but nothing has helped, still getting the same problem. Have scanned for viruses and malware using various scanners/software to no avail. Have run HJT but can't see anything unusual there. Suspect that it maybe remnants of a virus or even a firewall issue. One thing that does come to mind is that I once installed Prevx 2.0 on her machine and then uninstalled it a long time ago, however Windows security Centre is complaining it is turned off, have tried removing left overs for Prevx but have had no joy no matter what I tried The web address is shown as http://www.virginmedia.com/ , which is the same shown on my vista machine apart from mine doesn't show t... Okay, I think i've lost my mind crawling through hundreds of threads (most of which were at least 2 years old!) regarding the slick, seamless intergration of a Virgin cable STB with Vista MCE so I thought I would go straight to the source and ask you guys!

I have a shiny Silverstone Media Centre case running Vista Home Premium (64bit). I have a Geforce GT9600 HDMI graphics card, onboard optical sound, 500GB HDD and 2GB RAM. This currently sits underneith my 50" Plasma and has worked (almost) perfectly for the last year as a HTCP using a NovaT Dual DVB tuner to record and watch digital terrestrial channels.

What I'm looking to achieve:
Basically, I want the original box to sit in the back room and act as a Media Server. I want to install another freeview tuner (of the same brand) bringing the count to 4 DVB tuners in total (I have read alot about this and have been assured it is possible).
Secondly I want to integrate a Virgin STB so I can watch my cable channels through the VMC interface. I understand this can be achieved using a TV tuner card but had mixed responses about the simultaneous use of s-video and DVB.
Finally, I want to be able to 'extend' all of this functionality to 3 XBoxes throughout the house. So potentially 3 TV's all with a different channel on whilst recording another and the cable feed.

I look forward to ANY and ALL responses which may shed light on this!!!!

Hi there

My problem is that my son's xbox and my laptop constantly disconnect, with the laptop saying it is connected to the internet but there is no network access. It also says the IP is invalid or not recognised even though it is. My other laptop is fine. The wireless internet constantly cuts out if you move to another room for eg and in certain rooms there is no signal at all, despite me staying on a one level house and the rooms in question only being a few feet away from the router. I am so frustrated with this and virgin usually say it is on the wrong channel but it isnt their fault. Any help or ideas as I every night this is an issue.

A:Xbox and laptop constantly disconnect - virgin says not their fault? any ideas?

are all devices connected by wireless ?

we really need to see an xirrus screen shot from each PC and also in the xbox location

1) can we see an xirrus screen shot from the laptop that never disconnects
2) can we see an xirrus screen shot from the laptop that often disconnects
3)1) can we see an xirrus screen shot from one of the laptops in the position of the xbox
Make sure we know which is which

if the laptop that often disconnects is used next to the laptop that never disconnects - does it still disconnect

the xirrus screen shot will give us information on possible other wireless interference

Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector
Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and install the program.
You will now need to take a screen shot and copy that back to the working PC and attach the screen shot in a reply on the forum here.

Direct link to the program is here http://info.xirrus.com/Wi-FiInspectorConfirmation.html

I will try to keep a long story short but please ask me to clarify anything that might not make sense.

In November Virgin Media lied to me and told me my old Modem no longer worked and needed replacing. This was a Lie because they kept cutting it off at 00:45am GMT which coincidentally is the same exact time the internet is cut off if you miss your monthly payment. They replaced it with a Virgin Media Hub 3.0. There are court cases in America because this Router has serious performance issues and a faulty chipset that has been patched but still performs woefully ? especially in regards to latency.

I had to switch to 2.5gz on the router for anything like normal internet speed and over December things have been usable. Gaming is not an option but my DL and UL speeds have been usable if not good. However today I am suffering huge delays on web pages opening up. Internet speed tests are failing to even contact servers. I have managed to take 3 readings, one from the wired pc downstairs next to the router, one from my upstairs bedroom Android box and one from my wireless adapter connected PC (WNDA3100v3).

The android box is unusable for last few days. The PC is struggling to connect to servers for speed tests. It?s hanging all the time or page loading. Strangely I AM able to watch youtube videos in 1080hd ONCE the thing has loaded. It?s as if the Router can?t allocate to devices properly.

Can anyone offer some advice? Virgin have not even replied to my complain... Read more

I have an update, I shut all devices off and unplugged the router, turned all back on and the router downloaded an update. It seems Virgin loves to just force their **** upon you with no regard whatsoever. I still can't game properly with 50ms pings but at least I can surf internet again... until the next 'update'.

I will leave this thread open until tomorrow in case anyone would like to add something. I am a little embarrassed to have posted before the unplugging
Still fuming a full month or more after the enforced upgrade that is, in reality, a downgrade and has left me with half the service I used to have and a whole lot of games and gaming equipment that is near on useless.

I have a Virgin Media 'Super' Hub that allows me to reach up to 50mbps. In the first year of owning it, it performed excellently and I had no complaints whatsoever. For the past 2 years, however, I have had frequent yet inconsistent fluctuations that either reduce my speed to the point where youtube videos will only buffer at 144p, or it will disconnect me entirely. Ping also rises, averaging somewhere between 200ms and 750ms during these fluctuations.

I have called, emailed and web chatted with Virgin to resolve this issue, and every single time, they tell me they'll run some tests, restart the router remotely and it should be fine. That response has been given to me countless times and my internet is never fixed, I never get what I pay for.

My laptop is located a floor above the router and it is connected via wireless. I never expected to reach the full 50mbps or even come close to it, but these fluctuations are not acceptable. I average around 20mbps, which is fine since I don't download that many large files.

Last week, I decided enough was enough and made another phone call to Virgin Media's stellar customer support line. This time, I requested to buy a wifi extender, so my wifi could reach my laptop a little better and hopefully reduce fluctuations. I waited for the Netgear Powerline package to arrive and then set it up. Virgin gave me this device to plug into a socket next to my router and this device to plug into a socket in my room.

First of all, I am new to this community, so I appologise if this thread is in the wrong place.

The last few weeks, I have been having many problems with their services.

I try to play call of duty 4, and all I get is constant lag, connection interuppted etc, I phoned them up told them what was going on, and they said nothing was wrong with it what so ever. I have unplugged my modem for 20 minutes, restarted my router etc etc.. and still it lags.

At this moment in time I am getting really annoyed, and want something done about it. There is obviously something wrong.

So basically, from the point I turn my computer on, the internet lags, It's sometimes slow to bring up internet pages and I get around 30-999 ping on CoD4 servers (Including my own).

Sometimes the download speed is fine, 250kbs depending where I download from, is the max I usually get and from what I have downloaded recently I always get 200ish.

If anyone has any ideas on what is going on and any possible fixes, I would be very grateful if you could post them up.

Many thanks,

A:linksys on virgin media

First off, can she connect directly to the Virgin modem? Did you power cycle the modem when you configured the router?

Let's see this for for any connected machines on that router.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Hi there i am currently trying to connect my new Netgear RP614 v4 to my broadband internet connection provided by Virgin Broadband, however i am experiencing a bit of trouble.

I used the setup disk to set all the hardware up, did this fine with no problems, then it went on to reset the network in order to set everthing else up, and it came up saying that i have a Static IP address, and i needed to enter my IP address, Subnet Mask, default gateway and the DNS Servers, which i dont have a clue what they are or where i can find them.

I then rang virgin and they said the router should just set it up so theres no need to know these details, they said you need to change it to 'DHCP', i also dont know how to do this either.

I would be very grateful if you could help me with this one and tell me once the router is setup on the one computer, how to set it up on another.

Cheers, Luke

Anyone got any more ideas? I have tried everything I can think of and so far im just tethering my phone so I can at least use my pc

Let's start with a wired connection and get that to be stable+reliable - - the wifi will then just fall into place.

WIRE a connection and disable the WiFi device

now get a command prompt and enter IPCONFIG /ALL >myTCP.txt

followup on this thread and attach the myTCP.txt file or copy/paste its content.

Hi if this is the wrong forum please advise so I can redirect.
I have just changed to virgin broadband from orange [ freeserve]. this means I have gone from a phone line to a cable supplied email service.
when I was with orange I could send and receive emails via my domain service provider ie email account was set to pop.***studio.co.uk and smpt.freeserve.co.uk and
for freeserve mail pop.freeserve.co.uk smpt.freeserve.co.uk

now with virgin I can receive from the above pop settings but the smpt understandably has to be set as smpt.virginmedia.com
that makes sence but what does not is that emails sent all arrive at there distination as have been sent by ******@verginmedia .com not from ****studio ect ect
this is because i have had to set the outgoing server settings to my outgoing server requires authentication and log on as ****@virginmedi.com and log on using spa.
this the only way that virgin as smpt will allow mail out and of course the mail arrives as from virginmedia not freeserve or ***studio.co.uk
if you follow this does anyone know how to set up a email address other than virgin one but send it via virgin??

A:virgin media email name

Virgin doesn't require outgoing authentication.

Try the following smtp without the authentication box ticked - smtp.blueyonder.co.uk

Recently, after many years of 'normal router' had superhub installed by Virgin - supposed to be speed of 60. The engineer told us -give it a couple of hours... well here we are 3 weeks later, numerous speed tests at all sorts of times day/evening, getting a speed of about 7 no more than 13.

Emails lock up, which has never happened before and the whole system is worse than on the old router. Called engineer who after ages on phone, remotely controlling my computer came to the conclusion that we have spyware on our computer and that is the reason we are not getting the speed!!!

Now I am hopeless with computer speak and anything technological, but even I find it hard to believe that this would be the case. We have Microsoft Security Essentials on and I thought that had the defender for spyware built in.

Can any one shine any light on this problem - are they 'fobbing' us off or could spyware cause this?

Thank you for your help - Lisa

Havent a clue what this means and the virgin site is no help either. Any one else used this. The other problem is that it has backed up all my partners files with mine although his desktop is password protected and We had no warning this would happen. I did not add him as a user to the application. I stopped the backup when I realised his were down loading but it now runs automatically when the computor is on and has probably continued to back up his files. When I finally get access to it on the web, all his files will be accessible to me. Not what we intended. I can see this might be a huge problem for some couples but it is a minor nuisance for us.

Ok heres the problem - I have a Netgear WGR614v9 wireless router given by Virgin Media and a Macbook. I used the install disc on my mates XP laptop to set it all up and it was working fine for a few weeks until last night when I came back from work. The wireless just stopped working.

Now then, I've checked, double checked and triple checked the WPA password - I've reset the router and still can't connect. When I goto connect in OSX it asks me for the password, which I enter and it either says 'connection failed' (if using the shortcut at the top) or 'password is incorrect' (if using OS X's assistant).

I've disabled the WPA password from the routers admin page, but it still won't connect to the internet.

Mac OSX shows it's connected and has a strong signal strength, and from the router's admin page I can see that i'm connected to the router, but no internet pages work at all. I know it's not my wireless card in my Macbook because theres an insecure wireless network in my street which i can connect to fine. I can also connect to the internet using the routers ethernet ports. Any help here? (Sorry for the long post, tried to give as much info as I can!)

Anyone notice the time in the UK right now? It is 13:04
Not a peek time, peek time is 4pm>12 at night.
I'm being throttled after downloading 2 100MB files from rapidshare at my usual 1.3mb/s speed using rapidshare premium.
Now, I'm getting capped at 300kb/s?!

This is pathetic, is there anyway to force this uncap? I'm ****ing tired of being capped like this..

A:Virgin Media Speed Throttling?!

Hello and welcome.

Virginmedia failed to tell customers of the throttling.

Virginmedia is trying to curb illegal downloads from torrent sites and other sites who possibly share illegal files.

They have also stuck a cap on there customers broadband and again failed to inform there customers.

What happens now depending on what speed you have subscribed to you are now given an allowance of how much you can download.

Once you reach there set download limit your speed is slowed right down to in some cases a 20th of your origonal speed.

This speed is supposed to be slowed like this for around 5 1/2 hours but infact this throttling can be for upto 10 hours.

Your speed will eventualy go back up to your usal speed.

You can ring Virginmedia free on 150 or 151 on any Virginmedia phone and they can explain this new setup for you.

Basicaly there is nothing you can do but to watch the size of files you download and how much you download.

I hope that answers your post?

I bought an Advent Roma 2001 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium on Saturday but when I tried to install the drivers for my Virgin Media broadband connection using the CD, I got a message saying that the OS was not recognised and I needed to upgrade to ME or XP. I phoned the Virgin Media helpline but they seemed to suggest the computer was at fault, has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?
Also the Advent came with no manual so I don't know how to access the built-in webcam, I never used digital visual media before so I don't know the programs which one would use, can anyone help please.
Thankyou for taking the time to read this, your help would be much appreciated.

A:Virgin Media broadband drivers in Windows 7

Hi Neil

How are you connecting the laptop to the modem - WiFi/USB/Cat5?

Hello All,

Virgin Media came round to install TV, Broadband and Phone services for us a couple of days ago and ever since then I've been having problems - there was no support for Mac in the router installation, but a phonecall to Virgin resolved this.

I currently have a Virgin Cable modem which is connected to a Netgear WGR614 wireless router. I want to add my Apple Time Capsule to this network (I'm not looking to replace the router with TC, just have it integrate on as my iTunes library and backups are stored on Time Capsule and I will be the only user using it.)

In my previous house I simply connected the router via Ethernet to the back of the Time Capsule for it to obtain network settings and then the Ethernet could be removed and it was all fine and good. However, I have tried connecting the cable modem and router both via Ethernet to the Time Capsule and AirPort utitlity is failing to find the TC.

I would be most grateful if anyone has any ideas/suggestions or a solution as to how I can resolve this.

A:Virgin Media and Time Capsule Headache

I should also add that I've successfully been able to configure an Airport Express via Ethernet, its just Time Capsule that seems to be failing.

My grandparents are having some trouble with their internet. It works for a while then the connection gets dropped and won't reconnect for an hour or so. I noticed their download speed goes from 200 bytes to 10Kbps which is hellish slow. They live out in the country and use an ADSL connection. All the router and computer settings are correct.

This started happening about a year ago. BT said there was a fault on the phone line. They claim to have fixed it each time I ring they assure me its 100% working.

I wanted to check on here before I ring virgin media. This is because I've used them before and they will probably try and charge 100 for an engineer. They are past the 1 year contract so it might be easier to go with 02 who are meant to have decent connection speeds.
Any ideas?

A:Virgin media broadband connection keeps dropping

it certainly may be an issue with the differnce and static in the line. One thing you can check to see if the lines are okay is to pick up a handset and press any key but 0 to clear the dial tone. If you can hear anything on the line then there are issues on the line and it needs to be fixed. If you can't then the lines may be fine, but you still could have too many hops on the D/A or A/D convertors or switches in the phone system. In either case I'd try another provider if avaiable. Also check the DSL filters by swaping them out to be sure they are okay.

I recently (Dec 2009) purchased an Apple Time Capsule HD & WI Fi to run with my iMac OS X. I also run a PC & laptop using XP. (The PC is really only used to run several (non internet) programs that are not compatible with a Mac). All hardware is connected via a Sweex wireless router & a Motorola SURFboard modem. Mac, PC & lap top all worked fine until Time Capsule was introduced. The PC has no problems connecting to the internet but now the Mac is very inconsistent and can take ages & numerous attempts before getting on-line. The router was removed from the configuration but made no difference. Apple Support have been helpful on several occasions, advising on settings etc. but still the problem persists. The Mac & PC will work fine without the Time Capsule but I would like to keep the automatic backup facility (required for the Mac only) that it provides. I was assured before buying Time Capsule that it is compatible with Virgin Media but I am not so sure now. Any suggestions?

A:Solved: Time Capsule with Virgin Media

The problem has now been resolved. The router has been removed from the configuration and after 'repairing permissions' and resetting, in particular making sure 'Bridge Mode' was NOT selected, my system is operating correctly.

Hello Nougart,

You should be able to use one of the options in the tutorial below to create a website shortcut that you can "Pin to Taskbar".

Have found that my internet has become incredibly slow and the connection suddenly breaks frequently. This problem started a couple of weeks ago and either Virgin Media (UK Company) are crap or I've got a few viruses. My anti-virus programme warns me about numerous threats but is unable to delete or quarantine any of them. Also Downloading is taking for ever and Word documents seem to close suddenly.

Any help would be brilliant - thanks guys

A:Either I'm infected or Virgin Media really are that [email protected]!!

Hello bbmack,

Surprised that someone who has participated at TSG for so long would not know that double-posting on the same request only means more work for the staff here. A reason in part why delays occur. No malware has shown in either of the threads you posted, though i do see both McAfee and I would assume that firewall ntl Netguard service running there. What items are getting alerts on that can't be removed - what files and locations please?

Does anybody know if Virgin Media stores the browsing data of its clients? i.e. the traffic, what sites have been visited with times etc.

A:Does Virgin Media store browser history?

I think the short answer is 'Yes'. I remember reading something recently about the Government trying to make ISP's retain stuff for longer than they currently do (at their expense!). The justification for this was the need to combat organised crime and terrorism.

This Wikipedia article is interesting; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecommunications_data_retention but you should always bear in mind that just about anybody can amend a Wiki without any prior checking of their intelligence or relevant knowledge!

so i just upgraded my router from  VM, but my laptop won't connect wirelessly to the internet unless I switch on/off the router each time I want to connect!  the VM router connects to my phone, tablet and my ps4 with no problems at all, I only have this problem with my laptop. both my parents have Acer laptops but they don't have this problem, so I really think the problem is from my HP laptop! Yes everything is up to date whether it's windows or the drivers and I always check if there's any updates needs to be downloaded. I changed the password of the router and that fixed it temporary and then went back again. I also used HP Support assistant to help me find the problem but it says the security type don'tmatch and the error number is (999) do you have any suggestions?pls reply asap

I plugged it into the internet port on the back of the router but it does not allow me to connect to the internet from my computer.

Can anyone help?

Did you turn the modem off for 30 seconds, then restart it? That's a mandatory step.

Hello everyone,

I posted a problem of mine on here a while ago, about problems with wireless networking and my virgin media cable modem. Virgin Media have solved that recently, and i was upgraded with a new cable modem, and was given a new wireless router - Netgear WGR614. I own a Vista PC and a MacBook.

They gave me a setup CD to go with it, and i reluctantly followed it, now my Wi-Fi is working great.

I just purchased a 1TB Time Capsule and i want to use this as my main wireless router (due to it being 802.11n) and also to use its wireless HD function for my Macbook, and also its print server.

I would like to know how to set up my Time Capsule, to make it work with my Virgin Media Cable Modem (currently connected through my Netgear wireless router then to my PC. I would also like to know if it is possible to connect my USB printer to the Time capsule and also to the non-wireless PC so i can simultaneously use it wirelessly and on my PC.

My main worry is that i set up my current wireless router using the setup CD and I'm not sure if the TC will work in conjunction with my router and using the CD.

Thanks for any help, i know i haven't explained my situation too clearly, so feel free to ask as many questions that you need to know!

I have been getting very bizzarre results for my download speed from a large number of test sites. Speedtest.net which is normally very good is also giving me some very strange results no matter what server I use.

I am supposed to get 20Mb which I am getting but the results it gives me are 70Mb if not more.

I think it may have something to do with VM introducing 100Mb broadband, but I wanted to see if anyone else was getting these strange readings with Virgin Media or any other broadband provider.

A:Broadband Speed Checker going funny on Virgin Media?

Certainly different from mine.

I tested 5 random servers around the US with speedtest. Cox is my ISP.

All 5 were near 4 upload.

The downloads were 11, 12, 21, 22, and 28.

I tested Manchester and got 2 up and 10 down.
