I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Problem is that there is some kind of version check which I can?t get pass:

Hi,

I'm used to solve my computer issues on my own, but today I can't.
For some days, I cannot use the Bluetooth anymore on my laptop. Furthermore, the bluetooth driver has disappeared since I tried to reinstall it, and I can't get it back.
Before :

After :

In normal use, I can see in the Device Manager panel the qualcomm driver (AR3012), and the Bluetooth Network card in "Network and Share Center". There is now no more qualcomm driver in device manager, nor BT card available.
I've downloaded the AR3012 driver from there , and I tried to install using both normal method and running in compatibility mode. The installation runs well, asks me to restart the computer, but there is no improvment at all.

I've tried many things... None worked.

So I can't get the AR3012 Bluetooth driver back, and I have no more way to do this.
Of course, I can't get Bluetooth anymore elsewhere, not in settings, nor in Network settings.
I hope you'll be able to help me, I am tired of spending hours on this !

Hoping you may help me:

After acquiring a laptop - Samsung 350V5C-S05 - I've ran into troubles with the Update functions.
The computer fails to install the bluetooth driver (even through SW Update, non-Windows update software) even after several tries during several weeks.

Using SW Update, I get an error type "-10".
Windows Update displays error code 70080005.
I've tried manually downloading the correct driver and installing it and it doesn't work.
What could I do?

Also, I've been noticing issues on the Internet where websites appear all messed up, with text all over the page and squashed into the left side of the screen. Clearing the cache solves the issue, but I have to do it everyday. What's going on? Should I open a new thread for this or as anyone bumped into this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Hello, I own an Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black Edition (VN7-791G) and I've been running into a slew of network related problems on this laptop. I had Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 v12.0.0.232 installed and yesterday Windows stopped detecting it completely. Device manager wont even list it and I can only connect to the internet via ethernet, I just recently fixed the BSOD issue I was having with an unstable driver version I believe v12.0.0.116 that kept crashing my computer randomly. The .232 driver was working ok for a while but it had slow speeds and now Windows 10 wont even list it. I'm not sure what to do, I've installed Killer Networkings driver package but I dont know how to install it, as it only has a bunch of BIN files etc. I also cant manually change anything since the driver wont even show up in device manager. This network card is awful and I cant seem to find a stable resolution to these problems. Can someone please help me with this issue? Thanks.

I have a Lenovo G70-80 running Windows 10 and Kubuntu 14.04. The Kubuntu 14.04 doesn't recognize wireless connections. No wireless drivers! I found a method that might help called ndiswrapper. For that though I need one of two things. Preferably the Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 wireless drivers in a zip. Option two would be if anyone knows all the file names I need since I'm dual-booting both OS, while in the Kubuntu boot I have access to the Windows system so I'd be able to copy the necessary files from windows to Kubuntu and run the ndiswrapper. Thanks for any info that could help with this.

Hi, yesterday I had an issue with my laptop because I couldn?t connect and detect any Wi-fi network, the Bluetooth device was unavailable too, The network icon just showed available a Ethernet connection but I did not had cable so, I couldn't connect to the internet and I was looking a way to "turn on" the network adapter but I couldn't and I gave up.I download a report from the networks config and it showed the status for the Wi-fi & Bluetooth device as: DOES NOT EXIST (Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Wireless Network Adapter and Bluetooth Device) Today I turned on my laptop and the Wi-fi was available again, I checked immediately the Lenovo Solution Center App in the section "Instantanea" to compare the changes in hardware and software vs yesterday and in the section for Network Board there is a change, yesterday there was not a available devices for Wi-fi and Bluetooth and today there are both "like they were added today".I'm worry about having the same issue in the future, my laptop is my work tool and if it fails again like yesterday what could I do?Attached a picture of the Lenovo solution center from today showing the difference vs yesterday.

I've tried device manager (delete device, restart, scan for new hardware changes), I've updated all latest drivers, bios, etc. I've checked bios to see if it was disable and it doesn't even show that it is installed, I've uninstalled recent windows update, and I've gone to Services.msc and switched bluetooth from manual to automatic.
The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15 5565.

Hello everyone,I'll try to describe my problem as best as I can (it's pretty strange, I'll also post some screenshots).I have this problem since I bought this pc, when I connect to a wireless network everything goes fine for a couple hours (2-6), then the pc suddenly disconnects from the network; then when I open the networks menu, select my network and push the connect button it says connecting... for a couple seconds and then it says can't connect to this network (the screenshots are in italian but I hope you'll understand anyway). This is the major problem but there are also other ones which are uncommon (like double networks, missing network, it says my home connection is open but it isn't...) Another minor "problem" is that the small wifi indicator on the right bottom of the screen always says I have full signal strength even if i don't have it.Here is what I've already tried to do:Setting up all the stuff about power management (unchecking allow pc to shut down device... and disabling power saving for wireless card)Uninstalling the device from device manager (even checking delete driver software) and then rebootingInstalling lastest drivers from Lenovo website (I have 10.0.0.341 version)Disabling Ipv6Executing netsh winsock reset and rebootingNow to solve the problem I have to reboot the pc (nothing else works) and sometimes I have to reboot it multiple times, anyway the problems seems to be absent in Ubuntu 16.10.Thank you in advance and sorry if I made some langu... There arent even any sketchy Hong Kong Ebay auctions for it. I have tried everything I know to do.  I am an IT Pro with 30 years experience and this one has me stumped...
With the July cummulative update to Windows 10 15063, the Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth driver has completely failed.  It will not load and reports it is corrupted or unusable.  Here's what I have tried...
1. Remove and reinstall driver - Fail
2. Ensure latest driver from Dell, remove and reinstall - Fail
3. Download latest driver package from Killernetworking.com - Fail
4. Roll back CU (KB4025342) - Success
5. Reinstall CU (KB4025342) - Installs, but kills the bluetooth driver again
6. Contact Dell Support - Fail - Technician said it's a Microsoft problem and I would have to contact them for support. (Ironically: I just bought this laptop two months ago and purchased a 4year premium support contract!).
7. Roll back CU (KB4025342) permanently - Not possible, as it is managed by our Windows Update Server on corporate domain and would effect everyone.  I could do this, but it would be a last resort, and it's unknown what vulnerability I would expose the rest of our W10 clients to.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?  If so, what did you do?

Dell:  Can you please investigate and resolve?  All bluetooth functionality is broken so long as this CU is in place.

Thank you!

I'm trying to upgrade Win7 to Win8. The compatibility checker flagged the Atheros BT Suite as follows: "Uninstall this app now because it isn't compatible with Windows 8."

I removed it using the program uninstaller. It appeared to finish cleanly and prompted to reboot. Then, Win8 says it's still installed and has to be removed manually.

Yup, the uninstaller left behind its program files, driver and numerous registry entries.

So, how do I manually remove the bluetooth suite?

A:Atheros BlueTooth Suite Won't Uninstall

Safe mode, regedit, manually search for everything Atheros related- you'll probably have to 'Take possession' of some of the keys, and you might run into the dreaded 'Trusted Installer' block.. hit the web for instructions to disable/modify that one. I had to do it just to clear out some extra cursor fluff I didn't want.

I'm currently using HP DV7-7015CA on windows 8.1
it came with Intel N-2230 wireless/bluetooth chip, but it was a pain in the ass and had lots of connection problems
so I replaced the with a Atheros AR5B97 wireless/bluetooth chip from my older laptop

the problem I have now is that the bluetooth isn't detected/working on my HP
can anyone spare some tips to solve this?

EDIT:
I've already tried all the possible drivers from ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows (Atheros?????)
and it's still not working
I've also tried atheros bluetooth manager driver from acer (the brand of my old laptop)
but it didn't support win8, so it wouldn't install
I've also tried atheros bluetooth driver from sony, but it mad absolutely no difference

EDIT2:
I've concluded that I DO infact have the driver, I just can't seem to enable it
when I put the atheros chip back in acer, it also doesn't show bluetooth in device manager, but when i press the wireless hotkey (fn+F3), on the acer, and switch bluetooth to on thru the utility, bluetooth popped up in device manager
so i guess the question now is how do I enable the bluetooth on my HP?

When I reinstall the driver using the driver download from Acer, everything reappears but only untill the next restart. Is there any way to make it stick?

I have never come across such a waste notebook and terrible customer assistance. I bought this G50-70 Ideapad notebook owing to my previous good experience with ThinkPad notebook. but I never expected this is such worse. first and foremost my keypad has gone within 2 days. then DVD drive was stuck. thereafter back cover broken and detached. all I suffered and made all the fix with extra cost. after one year the HDD starts making the noise like those I PCs of the 1990s.
now after upgrading to win 10 the trouble again increased. I have never connected to any wifi without keep trying trying trying for more than 15-20 minutes. if this network adapter is not compatible win 10 then why Lenovo allows upgradations to 10. Hello, I own a Ideapad z500 non touch version preinstalled 8.0 OS. A week ago, a day after the official release of windows 8.1, i updated from 8.0.  Point to note that i did not create an recovery image file before updating.  Now, to the probem part: Bluetooth device just wont pair up with my phone and i cannot listen to music nor make calls via bluetooth settings like it existed before in win 8.0 and to make it worse i cant even transfer files via bluetooth. Its like the bluetooth settings just exist on the notebook just to inform me about all active device around me. but just cant do anything apart from that. When i tried updating the bluetooth drivers manually the update was listed in grey (that is, unavailable for update) now i personally feel windows 8.1 as mother of all useless update. Also to note that with that update it had earlier messed  up my brightness controls too. Fortunately, i managed to find an earlier driverversion for that and fixed that issue.  So please do let me know, if there exists any solution to fix this issue.

Hello all

Hope someone could help me with a small problem I have.

My roommate and I both have laptops. His being an Acer Aspire 5335 with Vista basic and mine a Dell Inspiron 6400 with XP. Both laptops have Bluetooth and 802.11N connectivity.

Here's my problem:

I have a Tmobile dash that I use to connect to the internet via the dash's internet sharing all while connected to the laptop via bluetooth network access. My roommate connects to the internet the very same way. Problem is only one of us can go on at any one time.

Is there a way we could both connect to the internet at the same time using bluetooth or even make use of the Wifi cards somehow?

Any help you guys can give is very much appreciated

Tom

Hi,

I did a Win7 Pro clean install on a HP Slate 2. Wi-Fi is working but Bluetooth is not. I downloaded the Atheros Bluetooth International driver from HP Support Center and tried to install it several times. But BT just won't start. There's no BT Tray and I can't connect to my cell via BT. I tried an external old USB dongle and it worked immediately. But I want to use the internal device. In the process of trying to solve this, I've installed the HP Connection Manager, I've set the Bluetooth services to automatic start.

What else can I do?

Thanks.

On desktops and laptops you can enable or disable the Bluetooth device in BIOS/UEFI.
You should check that first.
(I have not been able to 'play' with a tablet yet, so I'm not sure on how to get to the settings.)

Hello, I've discovered that when i'm connecting the HP Z5000 Mouse to the laptop, the internet connection would start dropping. How it happens:I connect the mouse via bluetooth (paired device) and the mouse works and so does the internet;I restart the laptop without disconnecting the mouse and it restarts with no issues, the mouse works and i have internet connection however, the pages would just fail to load. Either the browser would just load the page, or a message would appear "Could not reach this site". This happens when using bot Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. I disconnect the mouse and the internet is working again, pages load and there are no intreruptions. I used HP Network check whitout the mouse connected and it showed "No issues found" i connect the mouse and run network check again and still no issues found. I restart the laptop with the mouse connected and run HP network check again and again, no issues found.  I have downloaded the latest updates from HP Support assistant and also have the latest Windows 10 updates. Also the Wi Fi icon shows no notifications, the signal is always showing properly, and the status is "Connected, secured" I have uninstalled the Bluetooth driver and re-installed manually from the HP Support web site and also i have tried a BIOS crisis recovery but it made no difference; The problem with this is that i get no notifications or any errors that i could work with to know what causes the timeout... Hi all,
I'm trying to share an Internet connection via bluetooth.

The host:
HP 8740w laptop running Windows 7 Enterprise x64
Connected to the Internet via Local Area Connection (wired)

The client:
Asus Transformer tablet

I have a bluetooth PAN setup and the devices are communicating properly. They both have IPs in the 192.168.44.x range, can ping each other, and I can use a Remote Desktop client on the tablet to control the PC.

The last piece I'm missing is giving the tablet access to the PCs Internet connection. I go into Network and Sharing Center, click Change Adapter Settings, and open the properties of Local Area Connection. On the Sharing tab, I check Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection. I then click the Home Network Connection dropdown, and Bluetooth Network Adapter is not listed. I see others, including my wireless card, VMware virtual adapters, VPN adapters, etc..

I've looked at the Bluetooth Network Adapter's properties, and it doesn't seem to be missing any protocols that the other adapters have. It's enabled, connected, and working fine locally.

Any ideas? Is there a registry hack or something that I have to do to make it show up in the ICS list?

Thanks!

try to put both ends of bluetooth to "dynamic ip" not a fixed ip address!! Not sure this will fix your problem.

Is it a wireless router (you can get a decent one for less than $25)? Does the laptop have built-in wireless? If not, you can buy a cheap USB dongle.

Do you really want to always have the desktop running every time you use the laptop?

So my bluetooth adapter should be here tomorrow, and i decided to make sure it was easy enough to hook up to windows on my macbook pro running windows 7 64 bit. it sees the headset, but says ' no drivers available'.

if i reboot the macbook into OS X, bluetooth works flawlessly and I can stream audio from the computer to the headset. its windows I'm having a problem with, and afraid I will have the same problem in Windows 10, which is what I am running on my desktop.

is there a Windows driver for the LG HBS-730 headset?

I want to stream game audio from the computer to the headset. Kind of sucks having to have Arkham City on super low volume, or wearing huge clunky headphones popular with WoW back in 2008.

Have you tried running the bluetooth adapter on a true Windows7 machine? Apps with drivers built for Win7 don't always work properly on Mac OS in boot camp or emulation mode.

Does the bluetooth adapter spec state that it's compatible with Mac OSX as well as Win7??

My apologies if this isn't the correct thread for this post. In my opinion Bluetooth falls in the networking niche. Please move it to the appropriate thread if not. Thanks!

First off I want to thank you for any help you may provide and for this wonderfull website! This is my first post here as I am pretty tech savvy and don’t usually find myself in the position where I need to ask for help. With that being said I will get to the point of this post.

I recently bought a cell, a T-Mobile Sparq to be completely accurate, and tried to connect it to my laptop via Bluetooth. My laptop is an Asus G75VW which comes with BT capabilities. When I run the BT suite and click “Add a Device” it sits at the “Searching for a device.. Make sure your device is discoverable.” Prompt for as long as I let it without discovering my phone. I made sure my phone’s BT is active and discoverable. My next step was to go into my Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Component Services> Services (Local) to make sure BT and its dependencies where active, which they were. I updated all my related drivers and when that didn’t work I un-installed and re-installed them, to no avail. I checked my device manager to make sure there were no conflicts there and found nothing. I then spent a few hours on Google troubleshooting and was not able to find anything that I had not already tried. That’s when I decided to drop this problem onto the genius minds of the Tech-Guy forums for if they can’t so... Read more
