Preferred Solution: HTML coding - finding IP address?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,

I have two questions that I need help with.

1. I have a redirect HTML page with the following code below:

<meta HTTP-EQUIV=?REFRESH? content=?0; url=http://www.yourdomain.com/index.html? target=_blank>

My question is when I click the link the page loads but it loads in the same window. How come it does not open to a new page?

Example: Click "here" <-- Loads HTML Redirect in a new Window.

2. When I click on a link I want the html document to open in a new window. So when I click "here" the page loads into a new window.

Now the click "here" part is flash based so its not like I can add a target=

How can I make it so when the HTML page is opened it automatically opens in a new window?

Thanks!

Maybe this is a silly question and might belong in DEVELOPMENT, but I read it here and it involves posting pictures.

That html coding was allowed on this board but it was abused and had to be turned off.

I had remembered posting pictures here using html tags.

This has been in the back of my mind all day, and I've been trying to figure out HOW does one ABUSE html coding?

now there's the vBcode, that can be set up in the boxes here. Bold, Italilc, underline, size, font, color, posting a picture or link, PHP (whatever that is) list and quote.

What can one possibly do with html coding (that they can't with vBcode) that could be abusing it?

Looks like something can be posted in

BIG RED letters, but can this be done together?

(I can't figure out how to get it BIG and RED by combining the coding) Maybe this is it, with html people could put everything in BIG COLORED font? And have to choose one of the other with this?)

Images can still be posted, so they show up in the post or as a link.

I'm just curious about this, there must be something about it I'm missing. Which probably isn't surprising

or is it a PHP config problem?

I am teaching myself PHP / MySQL and getting to the coding stage and written some complex code that doesn't work. So figured it wasn't getting the input and went right back to the basics.

Here is the coding for a simple HTML input to a simple PHP file. I put in the boolean functions so I could see if, infact, the data was getting input.

No matter what I entered, or if I did not enter anything, the functions would return as NOT isset, and display 1 as IS empty. So I think the problem is I am not getting the data from HTML to the PHP file.

Am I missing something simple in the code? Or have I not configured the php.ini correct?

is it worth it? ive been seeing stats that less and less users are using netscape now ......

and my site, www.whiteazn.com/test , as i have just found, doesnt look right in netscape (looks good in IE, but in netscape, the background code in the CSS stylesheet isnt working right, and the table border spacing isnt working right (menu in IE has black border, and background of whole menu is white) .....

(please take a loook if you can)

so my question is, im pondering whether to code in netscape too? but then, that means creating 2 different sites (have a redirection at homepage to go to 2 different pages coded for IE and NS), or somehow code 2 different stylesheets for them both?

but then again, another site ive done, www.satworld.biz , the spacing in the tables for the images arent right for some reason in NS ....

UGH, this is one place where i could care less if MS had a monoploy...less of a headache of coding and all ....

what you think?

You guys never manage to fail me on something... so here goes again.

Say I have an MP3 file sitting on my webhost. I know how to LINK to it on a webpage. The HTML coding would be something like this:

<a href="http://www.my-domain.com/THIS-IS-THE-FILE.MP3">DOWNLOAD
THIS FILE HERE</a>

That's the easy part. Here's the question:

If I am on my webpage, and click that link, the file automatically starts downloading to a temp file (I assume) and then starts playing in a media player. I'd rather that when someone clicks the link, it brings up the Windows dialog box giving you the option to SAVE the file, instead of just playing it. Is this accomplished with a change in the HTML coding?

MUCH Thanks in advance.
-Andrew

A:Download Link HTML coding

You *might* be able to do this with JavaScript. You're trying or wanting to control the behavior of the file on other people's browsers and others might not want the same behavior you want.

Another option might be to use a .htaccess file or kind of file to control the MIME type that is sent by the server for MP3 files.

Peace...

description I want to change, but to run over two or three lines as it may be a bit long.

I have .htm and .html files in a folder that is indexed (under Users folder). In Control Panel/Indexing Options/Advanced/File Types, I have the .htm and .html extensions, and they are set to index properties and file contents. I've tried unchecking them, rebuilding index, then checking and rebuilding index, but it doesn't find what I'm looking for in any of the file contents.

I also tried searching with the the prefix "content:" as was suggested in a different post on this site. That seems to work sometimes but not with every searchword.

FYI - I was also not finding searchwords in PDF files in the same folder, but found a solution on this site for that. I needed to download a fix from Adobe, then rebuild the index. Those searches work correctly now.

Any help would be appreciated. Even if you tell me that .htm or .html file content can't be search, I would be satisfied and move on from there. Thanks.

I've heard that someone can find out your ip address if they monitor a website they know you go to often.

Example...... Let's say i have a website online that they are aware of, and i visit it daily. I've heard they can set something up whereby they can record all the ip addresses that visit this site.

Is this true? Is this a man-in-the-middle attack?

thanks,
d

A:finding ip address

Yes, Apache web server has logs which show what ip addresses are connecting to it. If the attacker can view the logs then they would know which ip's visited the site. I think IIS web server has similar logs. But they wouldn't know which ip is yours though, if they don't know what time you visited.

No, this is not called man-in-the-middle, m-i-t-m is when attackers places himself between your ip and the destination ip and relays traffic both ways, to and from. And you won't notice that some one is eaves dropping.

Do this, Start>Run, key in winipcfg and press enter. Depending on your setup you may need to run that command after your connected to the net to get your IP address. It also may change from session to session if your set to acquire an IP address from the server at connection time.

Hi, How Can I find out a IP address from a email someone sent me??

I know if you send someone a Picture from a Joke Website, your IP address is on the bottom of the email..

Thank you very much!

A:Finding IP Address From Email

I'm not too sure, to be honest.

I know that a lot of people do not have a static IP address, meaning every time they connect to the Internet, they are dynamically allocated one. That means their IP address is different everytime.

The joke website probably includes the IP address of the user at the time they were logged on to the site - just like this forum does. It is fairly easy to do with javascript.

Assuming a person owns and operates their own domain - you could visit something like http://www.network.tools.com and do a lookup on the domain part of their email address (i.e. the info after the @). But chances are that would not be them.

Above and beyond that - I don't have a clue - I hope someone can let us know as its an interesting question.

Regards

Gareth

Please excuse me if this is in the wrong forum, wasn't too sure where to post, here or the Network board.

In short, how can a website user acquire an IP address without having access to the database that logs it or admin access to view it? There is also no email that can be researched into. The user is that is tracing the IP addresses is blatantly an average computer user. If you want the full gist read on.

***
A particular group of users are using an account to troll around and make jokes (not to the annoyance of anyone worry not) but of course everyone else is trying to figure it out who the regular user is, I am well aware of who is responsible. Someone who fancies himself as a whizkid somehow managed to get hold of the IP address of this mock account. He traced the address posted where it led to (with a look-up/who-is etc), then did another but got somewhere else and yet again did another to get another place (different people using the account) then he claims each time the trace was pending. We do know the addresses are correct because of where they were ending up.
***

The mock account has no email address that be looked into or anything of that sort and only the site owner has access to user IP addresses, so basically in short we're wondering how he is acquiring the address to trace.

Please excuse me if you think this is childish, it's just a bit of fun in a close knit community trying to better each other daily with friendly banter.

Hi and welcome. The owner of the website needs to get you this info

A:Finding Address From Email

if you are looking for some program, then i guess it wouldn't be legal. but if the email address is kind of "oficial" one then, if you google right way you may find some of personal info. i mean most of universities or enterprises give their students/employees email address which end like [email protected] or [email protected] in this case you can find a person by googling for university/enterprise.

There have been several attacks on people in another forum that I visit and I'm trying to do some detective work to see if the poster is a regular poster under a different name. How would I go about this? I figured if I could trace the IP address it would give me some idea... Any other ideas?

I want to make a simple C++ program that will get my routers outside ip address. This program will run on Linux only, at least at first.

The only way I can think of to accomplish this is to query a website on the net that will send back my outside IP address.

Is there a way I can accomplish this without sending traffic over the net?
