I can't get my belkin n600db to detect my belkin f5d9231(access point mode).

Q: I can't get my belkin n600db to detect my belkin f5d9231(access point mode).

Okay I assigned the access point a static IP within the router IP range. My computer wireless card is detecting the access point but I can't get the belkin n600db to detect the access point.

Preferred Solution: I can't get my belkin n600db to detect my belkin f5d9231(access point mode).

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi everyone

Sorry this isn't directly related to Windows 7 but just wondered if anyone else has this problem.
I have recently got a new N Wireless Router (Belkin N600DB).

I had no problem setting it up and it connects to the internet perfectly.

The only annoying thing that happens, once in a while it loses internet connectivity (both Wireless and Ethernet connections) and then the connection altogether randomly. This lasts only for about 30 seconds to a minute and then gains internet connectivity again. Its almost like the router restarted unexpectedly?

I have noticed that this happens usually when more than 5 devices are connected and can have a gap of about 30 minutes before it happens again, although it is not always continuous. So it usually occurs about 3 times a day.

I know that this is very unlikely to be a problem with my ISP becuase my previous G Wireless Router had no drop out problems as mentioned above.

I think it might be either a minor bug in the firmware or something hasn't been configured correctly. I checked and I can confirm that I have the latest firmware version from Belkin.

Any ideas?
I have access to the router webpage so I can provide any information that might be useful.

I read that the router has to have WDS bridging/repeating. Does anyone know if my router has that? I'm trying to increase the strength signal of the router or ps3 wireless card. The router has a range of 1k feet but the built in ps3 wireless keeps showing a weak signal.

I recently purchased a new Belkin Play Max N600 HD, much different to my old Billion 5100.
I'm only on an ADSL connection but will be upgrading to ADSL2 soon.

Anyway I have a Netgear WG602 v3 Wireless Access Point, and I was wondering am I able to put this somewhere else in the house and have it relay the internet connection to my devices (iPhone for example).

I'm in the User Interface of my Belkin Device but I have no clue how to actually set up this Netgear device to act as an AP.

I've changed one thing on the Belkin device, not sure if it'll make any difference. I changed the Wireless Band from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz hoping that it'll strengthen the signal. Either way can someone help me with this? I don't have a clue on how to do this...
I've attached a print screen of how the User Interface looks like in case any of the knowing would need some guide to where things are placed. =/

Also whenever I'm downloading it's a bit slow. I don't have the fastest internet only 1.5Mbps (150kb/s) but now I'm downloading at about 50kb, and from my computer at about 70kb. =/ These are at separate times.

Hey, I have a Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router F5D7231-4 and I wish to use it as an access point for my main desktop for my wireless network.

I have followed methods supplied by both Belkin and users and have had no success.

Instructions followed:

- Connect a computer to Belkin router using an ethernet cable.
- Reset the router to factory defaults. The reset button can be found at the botton of it. The reset procedure is given below
- Make sure the router is switched ON.
- Locate the reset button(inside a hole) at the back of the router.
- Use a paper clip, push the reset button and hold it for 30 seconds then release the reset button.
- Unplug the Power cable from back of the router and plug it back again and wait for another 30 seconds.
- Log on to router setup page by typing in the address bar of the browser.
- On the left under wireless click on the option Use as Access Point.
- Select Enable and specify the IP address as and subnet mask as and click on apply changes.
Every time the system crashes whilst applying the changes.

So i've tried EVERYTHING on my Belkin Router... Port Forwarding, DMZ, UPNP, Firewalls etc... THEN I attempted use the Router as an Access Point....... and still Moderate..... I'm thinking it's the ISP? Is that a possibility?

Or any other suggestions are welcome. But for the typical stuff online, I've looked at ALOT of tutorials/guides and nothing has worked.

After a week of trying, its now time to ask for help so am hoping someone on here can give me some advice.

I'm trying to configure a Belkin F7230-4-e router to act as a wireless bridge in order to connect my LCD TV to the home network.

I've read loads of threads and tried to follow the instructions without success.

Current situation is that, by connecting the Sage to the Belkin with an ethernet cable (Lan to Lan port) I can actually access the internet via my laptop connecting to Belkin.

However, as soon as i take the ethernet cable out of the main Sage router, i lose the connection. This tells me there is no wireless connection between the 2 routers.

Current set up:

Belkin is set set up to act as an access point
Same channel (11) as Sagem
WEP activated (same as Sagem)

Belkin LAN

Sagem LAN
DHCP - 250

I saw on another thread that one of the router may need to 'poll' the other. I dont know how to do this.

Can anyone help? I know i should probably just go and buy a dedicated access point or one of the plug sets but would really like to do it via the routers if possible.

Thanks in advance

Our internet goes from:

Comcast modem to a
Dlink DIR-655
To computers or through a switchbox to other parts of the house
In the basement, is another switch box, and off that switchbox is,
Belkin 85c Wireless router, that we use as an access point
Works well but it says it has the ability to have a guest login, that will allow visitors to get to the internet, but are blocked from our LAN.

I've spent hours trying to set the guest login up, the access point can be seen by a computer/etc, but when they connect, they cannot get to the internet.

the windows 7 computers try to set up an unidentified public network.

I'm sure there is something very simple I am missing, but I've got close to 20 hours invested in it, and need to protect my network.

This may not be the proper forum for this question, but I have had no success getting support from Belkin. Here goes perhaps someone has a suggestion:

I have the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable for WIN 7 and installed the Belkin Easy Transfer Application software on the old Win XP PC and it installed correctly and it showed a prompt telling me plug and play found the new device. I followed the steps and opened the bundled Windows Easy Transfer application on my new Win 7 Pro PC. After following all the steps in the Quick Start Guide I got to the connect both PCs with the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable prompt and it told me that it was connecting. Thereafter a window popped up on the Win 7 PC telling me that the Easy Transfer cable is not detected. Plug cable in and check USB connections and retry.

I redid the steps thinking I had overlooked something and even uninstalled the application software and reinstalled it in the XP pc and once again carefully followed each onscreen prompt for each PC and sadly get the same end result - I keep getting the Easy Transfer Cable not detected!

Can anyone think of a reason why the Win 7 pc will not detect the transfer cable?

A:New Win 7 Pro pc will not detect a Belkin Easy Transfer cable

Welcome to seven forums!

I have used it successfully many times, but why go through the hassle of that if its not working for you, and simply do the following:

Obtain a external Hard Drive and copy your windows user account folder under C\documents and settings on the xp machine. Copy that whole folder onto the external hard drive and all your documents, pictures, videos etc will all be transferred.

Then, manually copy them over to the appropriate folders on the windows 7 pc. It should be pretty Simple.

IF you need more help, please ask! I can provide a video or directions if needed.

Hi, I'm trying to set up a Belkin F5D6020 ver2 wireless adapter on my IBM 233mhz laptop running WIN98se. I want to connect to my existing wired network. I have a cable modem connected to my Belkin F5D6231-4 router. I have 2 PCs connected to the router via ethernet cable. The wired part of the network is working beautifully. All wired PCs can talk to each other. When I have my wired network adapter installed on the laptop, it works great too.

I installed the installation software on the laptop using the EASY option. I plug in the adapter card when prompted and Windows installs the drivers. My computer doesn’t ask me to restart so I restart manually. The monitor utility comes up and, after a minute, a warning message displays ‘The access point you are attempting to access does not appear to exist. Please select the new one’. The prompts on the utility screen read:

Profile name: Default
Operating mode: infrastructure
Channel = 3 (greyed out)
Tx Rate = Auto
MAC address = 00-30-BD-D2-BF-06
status = scanning

There is no signal strength or link quality. I click on the site survey tab and there is nothing listed. I click rescan and still nothing. The green link LED on the card is flashing. The WLAN light on the router is solid green.

On my PC web browser I go to to access the router set up utility.

Hi there!!

may I just say that I'm not brilliant with pcs but I'm able to follow instructions if they are in the consistency of baby food! XD

Well basically I can't access my wireless modem router's settings (2 in 1 device I believe). I managed it once but haven't been able to do it again. I've tried the following:

-Reset router many times.
-Turn it on and off many times.
-reset router while ethernet cable is connected and without.
-ipconfig/release and renew

notthing works!!! I noticed the ip address changed from the default one of to a completely different one...95.175.138.X

PS. I got windows 7

When I turned on my laptop today after being off overnight (and the router) somehow I did managed to get on the settings page again using but didn't last for long. While I did this there was a warning icon next to the wifi icon, but then when the warning sign went off that's when the router's setting page stoped working again.

So...what next!?! I need to get to the router setting because currently is set to go off when i turn off my laptop which is a bit pointless and change a password.

Thank you in advance, and please help!!!it's getting really frustrating now!!!
I'm in student halls so I get my internet through cable and the connection is on the wall if that makes sense. So I don't have a separate modem.

Hello all,

My router's default gateway IP address is and every time I open up a browser to type this in, I come to this page:

There's absolutely nothing relevant on this page.

I'm running Windows Vista and two of my other networked machines run Windows XP and neither machine could access the setup page via the IP address as well.

Our wireless broadband internet connection is working just fine - I just can't access the router settings. Setting up our wireless security, port forwarding, etc. is impossible without getting to this page...

I have the latest version of Java and Flash installed, and my computer is as updated as it can be...

Any suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated - thanks!!!

USUALLY, you wire the system to the router first and configure the router
to access your ISP. Typically, you use your bowser to access and log-in to the device.
Once that is working, you enable the wireless feature, set the SSID and your security keys.
Now your ready to configure the desktop to use the wireless.

I have recently setup a small, home, wireless network. It has been running flawlessly for about two months now. A couple of days ago, we had power to the house drop out for a couple of seconds (while the host computer was on and connected to the internet) and since then I've had this problem.

Host is running XP pro. MB has built-in network adapter which is connected to my Belkin wireless router. The router is connected to a motorola cable modem.

My son's computer is running XP home. It has a belkin desktop wireless card installed. His computer can, wirelessly, access the internet. Everything on his system works properly and was unaffected by the power flash.

The host computer operates normally on all local operations, but cannot access the internet. It cannot renew the IP address when I click "repair" connection. I can't directly access the router by typing in on IE's address bar (from belkin's manual). XP tells me the network adapter is "working properly". I've looked at all of the obvious (to me) settings in the various network settings tabs and everthing matches up with how it was setup before. I've uninstalled the network adapter though XP and let XP detect new hardware at startup and that didn't help. The router and modem seem OK since they're both working for my son's system. I have tried replacing the cable from the computer to the router too.

So why wont the laptop find the AP? It did work after the power problem so i doubt the APs damaged, and the laptop detects several others in my area.

Note: i have tried reinstalling drivers, updating firmware, and resetting the AP, but no luck

A:laptop wont detect access point anymore

Un-install your wireless network card through Device Manager, reboot and let Windows re-install it. Browse for wireless networks once re-installed.

Do you find it then? If not, let us know and we'll go from there.

I've a Pirelli modem-router and I'd like to connect a D-Link dwl-2100ap as access point (operation mode= access point).

I connected 2100ap to Pirelli through an ethernet cable
2100ap has a dynamic ip provided by Pirelli's dhcp
Pirelli and D-Link 2100ap have same SSID, same encryption (wpa) and same pw but, probably, different channel (both on "auto channel scan").
With a notebook on the wan I can ping the 2100ap, I can access to its setting pages but if I go close to it (far away from Pirelli) I don't see any network with the notebook, in other words the D-Link doesn't work as access point.

Am I missing something ?

My home network consists of 8 PCs, a PVR, an IP Camera, a PS3, a Wii and a network printer. My sons also have iPods they want to connect wirelessly.

My internet connection is cable which connects to a Netgear WNR3500 wireless gigabit router. This is cabled to a DLink 1016D 16 port gigabit switch.

Wireless is enabled on the WNR3500 and the iPods connect fine within a 25-30 foot radius of the router. The PS3 only got a 35-45% signal from 15 feet away so I cabled it. The other end of the house is 60 feet away.

At the other end of the house I have a PC and a PVR connected to a DLINK DGS1008D 8 port gigabit switch.

I purchased a TP-LINK TL-WA601G access point from a computer store who told me this would enable me to have the wireless devices to access the network from that end of the house.

But I can't get it working. I have the same SSID on both wireless routers. I have the TP-Link set to access point mode, and plugged into the switch. The WNR3500 is and the TP-Link is When I look at connected devices on the WNR3500 I do not see the TP-LINK.

Can someone please provide guidance as to how I extend my wireless capabilities to the far end of the house. Sorry for being a noob.

A:Correct mode for TP-Link access point?

The simple answer is that the store guy gave me a bum steer.

The correct answer is that the TP-Link had to be configured as a repeater, and the MAC address of the WNR3500 added.

On the Netgear WNR3500 I had to enable the wireless repeater and set it as a repeater base station then add the MAC address of the TP-LINK.

Thanks for your assistance.

Hello all, i got a sony vaio wireless laptop the other day so i gave my brother my pc, so went out today n got a belkin wireless g router and belkins wireless g usb network adapter (for pc) and managed to get both pc and laptop connected to router but havent got a clue how i set up an encryption with the router, could some1 pls help?? its probably so simple but its 1st time i used wireless networking, also will i lose my download speed if only 1 person is using the connection at a time?? i got 4 mb connection

A:wep help with belkin pls

you should not lose any speed if only one person is connected

assume the wireless laptop and router are all working OK without encryption

it should be easy to set up encryption - use WPA2 if it has it - its the most secure

if you post the model - we may be able to see an online manual

but if you loginto the router - you should see a wireless section and the option to secure/encrypt the signal

you will also need to add the passcode / secruity code onto the laptop wireless properties

also do you have a cordless phone - if so these can cause issues with encryption - but can be overcome quite easily - just a FYI for now

Q: Belkin

I have a belkin wireless router. It does not have amazing specs but it is decent.

My laptop gets a signal strenth of : Excellent to very good

So here is the the problem

As i am typing this i have signal strength Excellent but my speed is a LOW 2.0mbps
between the router and laptop!
I am meant to have 54mbps (wireless)

why is this happening thank you for any ideas on why and how to fix

On normal WLANs you can us normally a fourth of the given bandwidth from the specs.
From where do you get those 2.0mbps from? How fast is your internet connection? Does it exceed 2Mbit/s?

I have a Belkin VPN that does not show up in my network connections folder, but it does show up in command prompt. Now, it is the only wireless connection i can receive, whereas before i could pick up several. And now i have all these tunnel connections I never had before. Also, I have a connection specific DNS that I never had before also. I tried to ipconfig/release all, and I can't do that because the media is disconnected. Has someone hacked my computer and set it up so that i can't even use another network?

A:Belkin VPN

at the command promt type in ncpa.cpl and see what you get
it seems you are some one else who access to your computer has changed the network setting because the tunnel connections that you see are ipv6 connections so thats pretty much normal if you didnt see those before you should have becuase they are enabled by default. try reinstalling your WLAN drivers and crate a new VPN connection and see if that helps

Okay, i got a problem with my internet setup.
First my situation.
I'm living in a student flat, where each student has his own room.
Every room has an LAN outlet in the wall on which he is able to connect 1 device.
If you like to connect more devices, we are advised to utilize a router.
Our ISP gives us the right to only use 1 MAC-adress (for safety reasons), so there the router comes into play.

I have a Belkin G+ wireless router on which i would like to connect my phone and laptop by a wireless configuration and my TV (Toshiba 40TL933) by wire.

My laptop and phone work like a charm.
When i insert my TV to the network, the whole thing collapses.

My ISP provided me with the information that i connected 2 MAC-adresses and therefore, i was cut off.
This would be because of the fact that belkin routers (apparently) are notorious for providing more than 1 MAC adres.
When i asked for the MAC-addresses, they gave me back these 2:
* 00:00:00:00:00:00
* 00:17:3f:0d:77:f5

The second one is from my Router.
But where does the 00.00. etc come from?
My ISP says that it is a virtual device, probably my TV i guess. Belkin says their routers do not forward multiple mac adresses.
I wrote town the MAC adress from each of the other devices if they are needed.
It appears to happen when i open the You tube channel on my tv...

Hello all,

A few weeks ago my Belkin F5D8233 router starting dying, dropping the wireless connection > requires reboots daily which steadily started increasing so I got in touch with Belkin with its warranty and they offered me a replacement which was the Belkin Play Max F7D4301. I've literally had it 3 days now and its disconnected from the net and dropped the wireless connection which required reboots to get it working again. Before accepting the replacement offer I read loads of reviews and they all stated the Surf, Share and Play routers in the UK range all have connection issues as well as heating up a bit. I've updated the firmware on the router, tried a few work arounds with its settings but it still does the same thing. I don't use the CD setup with routers as its plug and play with its web interface so I didn't bother but with the issues I tried with installation of set and the same happened.

I accepted replacement Play Max for my old faulty router because I came across 1 comment on amazon review that said the new firmware release fixed connection issues but thats obviously wrong, it looks fake and is a fake as it doesn't do what its suppose to do.

How can Belkin have a whole range that has major issues! A routers prime purpose is to split 1 IP into 'xxx' amount of IPs allowing loads of devices to connect to the internet at once. Its flawed before even taking it out the box.

Now, I've again got in touch with Belkin and hope for another replacement but... Read more

A:Belkin - Who Has One

Save yourself time - if under warranty you have the right to a refund under "not fit for purpose" and buy another make ? I recommend Netgear - I have had many and never had a problem with any of them, easy to setup, use and just keep working !!!.

to run type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>ipconfig /all make a screenshot and upload it to us
